The first major attack in Jordan since last November's hotel bombings. From AP: "Jordan gunman kills 1 in tourist attack"
AMMAN, Jordan - A gunman opened fire on Western tourists at Roman ruins in the heart of Jordan's capital Monday, killing a British man and wounding six people before being overpowered. Police said the attacker came from the same area as the slain leader of al-Qaida in Iraq.
The attack at an ancient amphitheater came despite a heavy clampdown on security in this key U.S. ally since a string of deadly bombings at hotels last November that al Qaida in Iraq claimed to have staged.
Police were trying to determine if the alleged gunman, Nabeel Ahmed Issa Jaourah, was enticed by Islamic militants or a terror group to carry out the shooting, said a Jordanian security official, who agreed to discuss the investigation only if not quoted by name.
The official said Jaourah, 38, is from Rusaifa, a village outside Zarqa, the hometown of Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, the leader of al-Qaida in Iraq who was killed June 7 when a U.S. warplane bombed his hideout in Iraq. Zaqra [sic] is an industrial town northeast of Amman that is a hub for extremist Muslims.
Preliminary investigations found no link between known terror groups and Jaourah, a Jordanian of Palestinian origin who worked as a metal welder, the official said. Jaourah is believed to be an observant Muslim who once wore a beard -- traditional among some conservative Muslims -- but he was clean-shaven when he carried out the assault, the official added. That detail brings to mind the al-Qaeda manual, discovered in an raid in England, which tells its operatives to "Have a general appearance that does not indicate Islamic orientation (beard, toothpick, book, [long] shirt, small Koran)." Though Jaourah's possible affiliation with any organization such as al-Qaeda is yet unknown, even if he were acting alone, he apparently did his homework.
It was the first major terror attack in Jordan since the triple hotel bombings in the capital last November that killed 63 people, including three suicide bombers.
"This is a cowardly terrorist attack, which we regret took place on Jordanian soil," said Interior Minister Eid al-Fayez. "This operation is considered a terrorist act unless the man is found to be deranged."
The gunman struck just outside the entrance to the popular amphitheater ruins in downtown Amman about 12:30 p.m., said one witness, Mohammad Jawad Ali, an Iraqi.
The attacker shouted "Allahu akbar," or God is great, as he ran past the tourists, firing at them from behind. Then he turned around, facing them, and continued to shoot, the security official said.
He said bystanders, including Iraqi refugees, helped two tourist police capture the assailant, who tried to flee.
[...]
The dead man was identified only as a 30-year-old British man. Al-Fayez said the wounded included two British women, a Dutch man, an Australian woman, a woman from New Zealand and a Jordanian tourist police officer.
[...]
Monday's attack seems to have succeeded because the gunman shot the tourists just outside the amphitheater's entrance -- an area frequented by low-income and unemployed Jordanians and Iraqis in a district populated by conservative Muslims.
The amphitheater, built by the Romans in A.D. 169-77, rises out of one of Amman's hillsides. It seats 6,000 people and is used for musical and other performances.

I notice this attack seems to be generating a bit more media interest than the SUV Jihad in SF and the bomb in Chicago.
I wonder why?

The tourist boards of Turkey, Egypt, Jordan, Morocco, and other Muslim states that derive large amounts of their income from tourism are not likely to be too interested in fully informing Western or other Infidel tourists about the dangers of visiting their countries. They don't care. They want the money. It is up to the travel agencies, and to individuals, to figure out why visiting Muslim countries is not worth it, why giving these countries Western currency is not a good idea, and that the failure of the local regimes to suppress not only terrorists, but to suppress the atmosphere and teachings that give birth to terrorists -- a tall, possibly impossible order - entitles them to no sympathy.

The local Mohammedans should hold mosque this Friday at the Roman amphitheater. It'd be a big dramatic show, with the Imam kicking off with a very stern sermon, then the Mufti with a political diatribe, and finally the killer to tell why he committed the murder, and the house would rock. Get down.
* 33:21 ** 33:21 ** 33:21 ** 33:21 ** 33:21 ** 33:21 ** 33:21 ** 33:21 ** 33:21 ** 33:21 *
I love it when young Mohammedan men do that mosh pit thing where they chant Koranic verses in unison and then throw their arms faces up to the heavens, expressing joy for this murder or that killing or this homicide or that suicide-homicide or this posoining or that arson, or this explosion or, in very special times, that great civilian-embedded military "victory" the Army of Islam has just won.
Doggone it, let's be honest with ourselves and admit that these young Mohammedan men have great enthusiasm.

Here is the loophole: "This operation is considered a terrorist act unless the man is found to be deranged."Interior Minister Eid al-Fayez.
I'm betting on a quick judgement on this poor deranged man.

It's "Sudden Jihad Syndrome" folks.
A muslim mysteriously becomes possessed and just has to kill as many infidels as he can.
The perps are legion, and the only defence is distance and a well directed bullet.
Great suggestion Hugh.
Also deport and encourage their migration from the West, out of our universities, government and military.
Wonder how those bastards at CATR will stroke this one.

"allah akbar", "allah is great", OR "allah Hu akbar", "allah is greater"? major difference, though to the untrained ear they will sound basically the same, especilaly when rounds are being fired nearby. Damned Methodists and their allah!

Looks like the Canadian Media censored
this story , during the 6pm news they cited a person praising God a firing at a tourist bus.
Nothing about religion or Arabic language, this is how civilians get killed because the truth will hurt someones feelings and the MSM fears riots and violence from Profiling a crimnal.
With only about 0.0004 percent of the worlds Muslims living in Canada it is really sad that the 99.9996 Percent outside the Country that may embrace Jihad and violence for Allah are having their beliefs misunderstood and forcing Canadians to judge them based on the behaviour of a minority.
This is like the 1% of the fair and Just Lawyers that get grouped in with the 99% of cut throat weasels the rob old ladies and profit off divorce and failed marriage .

Yeah, more likely it was a bon vivant from Montreal that shot at that bus. No, wait a minute. Montreal's all Moslems now I hear, is that true?

"This operation is considered a terrorist act unless the man is found to be deranged."
-Interior minister Eid al-Fayez
Because deranged people don't intentionally terrorize people, it just kinda works out that way. Every time one of these jihad inspired perps is described as simply "deranged" or "mentally unstable", they are indicting the war mongering ideology of islam. Yet they always have to see if an organization put them up to it as if a lone jihadist is incomprehensible. Look to the "religious" texts for the motives.

"...an observant Muslim who once wore a beard --..."
Funny, I've never seen that phraseology used to describe anyone but a mohammedan. And, they say he is a terrorist unless found to be deranged. So I guess in the Jordanian mind, one must be sane to commit acts of terrorism.
I agree with Hugh that the regimes in Turkey, Egypt, Jordan, Morocco, and other mohammedan 'tourist' states do little to discourage and disavow terrorism, but would argue that the tourist dollars do help those governments, though not perfect by any means, maintain tenuous control and stay at least a few bullets and a few throat slits ahead of Taliban type totalitarianism.

Well, maybe this should be under Dhimmi Watch, but the following news report from cbc.ca shows none of the information mentioned in the story: No "Allahu Ackbar!", etc. Not even his Muslim name and Pakistani origins.
http://www.cbc.ca/story/world/national/2006/09/04/jordan-attack.html
Just an unidentified gunman. He must have been a non-Muslim motivated by unislamic principles.
Has it really gotten to the point where our own media censor stories of key facts like this? How can we ever expect people to get outraged if the truth is hidden from them?

WingedHussar: I see no need for correction.
The Associated Press article states that the man shouted "Allahu akbar." The Canadian article attempts to downplay the fact that the man is Muslim by using the English translation.

Index fingers rubbing temples, previewing the New York Times article tomorrow…
A conservative man with a military background gunned down innocent civilians yesterday. Unburdened by gun control laws or even a five-day waiting period, the shooter stalked his prey with impunity. Women and Jordanian minorities were hit the hardest.
Although the motives are still being investigated, it is known that the shooter worked for a local manufacturer with limited health care benefits.

From my link above:
Anti-Islamic prejudice "is increasingly bleeding into mainstream media," Hooper said. After Sept. 11, columnist Ann Coulter wrote, "We should invade their countries, kill their leaders and convert them to Christianity."
Before Sept. 11, Coulter "would have faced swift repudiation from her colleagues," Hooper said. "Now it's accepted as legitimate commentary."
Why is that Mr. Hooper? Could it be because 99deg; of terrorist acts are committed by muslims? You know and I know that there is a calculated move to replace the government of the US (and all western nations for that matter) with islamic law. You have said yourself that you would like to see islam as the religion of the US.
We have the quite bothersome habit of defending our way of life here in the US. I have no desire to live as a second class citizen in my own country.

All I can say, my Good Folks on here and everywhere else the RESISTANCE i present.. Your heartfelt comments and derision toward the Islamic Beast won't do anything to remedy the problem. Two things must happen VERY soon:
a. we must network world-wide.. not ALL French are weak and dhimmi. Just like they weren't during WW II. The few who dare resist are as brave as they were then. And their numbers will grow. In my native Germany many are afraid to speak and when they do they do so in private desperate whispers. I am certain other countires in Europe are undergoing similar situations. The MAJORITY of NATIVE Europeans are neither Nazis nor are they racists in 2006. But all of us are FED UP with the PC name-calling via our dhimmi press corps and the guilty head-bowing from our "elected" political officials. Europeans are simply even more afraid to speak out as are our American counterparts. Please let's not bicker amongs ourselves. We must fight this fight TOGETHER. This time Germans are WITH You all in this fight! And so are the Israelis. I know personally more than one native-born "European-of-non-native-origen" who feel as European as the Rest Of Us and who have expressed deeply felt resentment over how the native populations they feel so very much a part of are being harrassed by the mobot hordes and browbeaten by our own media and "elected" officials. There are more than one European of foreign Origen who have told me they are tired of how public opinion and need are completely disregarded by our so-called "elected" officials. Quote: "I never thought I'd hear myself say this, but next election I will vote for the most right-wing party I can find on the ballot - not because I believe in everything they stand for, but simply to send a message!" I feel the same way and I would hope that some of these parties become more open-minded toward including that kind of patriotic person who wants to help us and who feel just as patriotic as we do! Same goes for the USA.. I have met many many [even illegal] Hispanics and African-Americans who have nothing but hatred and contempt for the likes of Al Quaida in their hearts. Let us remember that it was Native Americans who alerted US Customs and other Border authorities of border transgressions since 9/11. I personally have been told by Southern Black parishioners that their preachers are quite vehement about their negative views when it comes to Mobot attempts at hegemony. They are the only people, btw, who have known of the mobot-on-Black-African genocide in Sudan since the 80's. i used to see it on TV whenever I visited Germany - and saw it in all major newsmedia - SINCE THE EIGHTIES. i was met with incredulity when i mentioned this situation to Americans on my return - both Black and White Americans. The few who knew stateside were the aforementioned congregationists. My only explanation at the time for this media "black-out" was they didn't want to embarrass the strangely silent Jesse Jackson. Who in turn didn't wish to ruffle the feathers of the Nation-of-Islam in Chicago for fear of splintering the "Black Nation". This interpretation of motives may have been wrong on my part, but what I do wish to convey is that there are more people than you think who are in this with us together. Just recently I read posts on India from people who feel ignored when it comes to mosbot transgressions against their people - as most recently in Mumbai. These are all people we MUST talk to and network with... Europeans.. Indians and other South Asians.. Nigerean Christians.. African-Americans here at home. WE ALL have a vital stake in this and we MUST recognize and work with one another.
b. develop SERIOUS political muscle - NOT JUST TALK! In Europe the GREENS marched into several parliaments and the havoc they wreaked still plagues us to this VERY DAY! We can do the same as they have! In the USA I urge the formation of Special Interest Groups and PACs who will be well-funded so we can get the "hearts and minds" of our "elected" officials to not only listen to us.. but also to DO AS WE DEMAND as free and concerned citizens of this country! Your vote doesn't count. Your well-organized activism - and even more so - Your well-organized money does! We MUST outspend the opposition. We all know Washington runs on MONEY! Let us stop complaining about it. Instead.. let us create politically volatile and powerful platforms of Influence.. if we have to PAY our government[s] to do the right thing.. Let us stop the [rightly-felt] moral indignation and apprehensions these practices evoke in us... Instead.. let us RECOGNIZE and UTILIZE the facts. The very facts which our cold-blooded and calculating enemies have used against us for so many years! The enemy may be ahead of us when it comes to manipulating and using our very own political and legal structure against us. But have no fear.. I am telling You what needs to be done in a pro-active way. DO keep in mind that most any but Winston Churchill [who was derided as a racist xenophobe demagogue] did not lift a finger to oppose German Nazism until the price to do so became so very costly whilst the result was so precariously close to defeat! This time.. dear friends.. many Germans ARE WITH You! And so are most of the people of the Nation of Israel, if I may be so bold and speak for them. That means there are TWO extra peoples who wish to be free of this scourge. DO NOT believe the Euro press when it comes to how we really feel re. Israel and the ME in general. And i've met Swedish and French and Spaniards and many more who are simply sick and tired of the aggressive and insulting attitudes of these interlupers who seek nothing but to exploit and destroy us.
Europeans must begin to formulate and bring into form real and viable organizations that can influence government policies. Most of Europe has multi-party government, thus small-party development is possible for such influence - much unlike the USA where significant power and influence is only possible by way of "financial coercion" - via the aforementioned Special Interest Lobbying Groups and PACs. Sadly.. Money talks. But let's face up to that reality and let us stop holding our "leaders" and political systems to long-lost ideals. Trust me, those shall never return.
This has been a very long, but very desperate and heart-felt post. These things have been on my chest for so long.. I've been bying Danish Beer and other products ever since the mo-cartoon contorversy.. and there are websites out there informing you which Gas companies don't use saudi oil, for example. I believe Citgo is owned by Venezuela.. but not sure.. so don't gas up with the enemy.. GOOD SLOGAN, btw.. feel free to use it! We need to share such information more than I've seen here so far. Practical things we can do. Willie Nelson is doing something.. HE is out there teaching truckers about using diesel substitutes such as cooking grease derivatives, which Willie sells under the name of "Willie Juice". I am certain we can all agree he's not into this for money. At his fortune fame and age! He is simply DOING WHAT HE CAN! We need to stop funding these folks with our money! And we need to start funding our Patriots instead. And we need to pay those who aren't Patriots by heart and reason to at very least act as such by the Power of political pressure in combination with the irresistible lure that money holds over the vast majority of the appeasers who hold office these days.
c. media influence. Blogging is all well and good.. but.. why can only Saudi princesses buy into bigtime media companies..? Why can only leftist groups organize boycotts..? Why can people like Yoko Ono, Bonehead Bono and so many others buy full-page ads in publications such as the NYTimes and we stand aside and look? No longer shall they kill our prophets..! Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln, Descartes, Voltaire, Goethe, Schiller, SHAKESPEARE [greatest of all].. the murdered grandson of V. van Gogh.. Oriana Fallacci.. Brigitte Bardot...
And HOW MANY I've not mentioned here.. no slight intended.. am merely too emotional or too "uneducated" to have all of them at the tip of my tongue.. Let us never forget the immortal Winston Churchill of course!
Fight on!! Much inspiration please!! Let us start to network and not just talk! Let's think.. share ideas.. WE ALL KNOW.. the enemy is! We are more diverse and more independent than they are in their thinking and in their actions. What has always been our very essence and strength.. in fact the very nature of our inimitable progress.. let us not allow that to stand between us whilst we are in the face of a great and imminent danger!
English and Irish.. you MUST work together.. Protestant and Catholic.. Pole and Geman.. Basque, Castillian and Catalan! Yankee and Southerner! White and Black Americans! And of course so many others not mentioned right now.. Hindus.. Sikhs.. Rastafarians.. The enemy sees all of us AS ONE! ... SO LET US BE JUST SUCH WHEN WE CONFRONT THIS EVIL! Past differences serve only to divide all of us and give aid and comfort to the greatest evil Mankind has ever faced on this Earth. I am asking You all to take this as a thinking point for further consideration as far as what can be done by peaceful means - before those are no longer a viable action! Each and every one of us needs to reach out and speak to others.. in our daily lives as well as online. And please let's bury old and outdated resentments and useless hatreds amongs us all!! We have so much more in common than we have between us. Simply consider our commonly shared humanity and our respect and love for life! Our love for art and music.. as varied as those may be.. the enemy seeks to destroy artistic monuments and has done so many times in the past. The enemy forbids any and all musical expression. Art and Music are our commomly shared Heritage and LOVE! Let me urge You All to think of this.. think of what it would mean to lose Your music and Your art! It is perilously close to happening.. Please let us all stand united in defense of this commonly shared love - no matter how much another culture's expression of such is remote from our own. The FACT the other is simply DOING it is reason for its defense and preservation.
Let us STAND TOGETHER!

Location, Location, Location!
Struggling with your mortgage? How’d you like to own this 3 bedroom, 1.5 bath relatively modern home in a truly (no kidding) beautiful City with established industries (also true) and a good school system (true for now). All for $64,000. I’m sure the list price has nothing to do with the fact that Lewiston’s muslims have gained a toe-hold and are growing in numbers. /sarcasm off/
Local government officials should be made aware of the effect of Islam on real estate values. How do you make communities ‘Islam-resistant’ given the constraints of the 1st Amendment? Ordinances. And they should be set up now instead of after the fact, as they would be an ‘established precedent’ vice a ‘discriminatory reaction’.
I’d propose noise ordinances (Church bells or other public calls for religious purposes shall not be rung other than on Sunday) and the elimination from zoning laws any blanket zoning that allows for the construction of religious structures without a public hearing. Make it a requirement to have a ‘Master Plan Amendment’ in order to construct a religious facility. Require licensing for religious organizations. I’m sure that there’s more.
Anyone who’s been through a Zone Change/Master Plan Amendment can attest to the pain, even for something non-controversial. You can be barraged with an endless series of studies, reports, assessments, etc. Lots of time, lots of money, and it still comes down to a vote by locally-elected officials.
Local regulations are revised all of the time and with little discussion or oversight. You have a representative who is always happy to meet with his constituents. Ask him to propose an Ordinance along these lines.

Hello limes
Thanks for the acknowledgement. This VERY important website we both are posting on is probably not the proper venue for strategy discussion as mush as it is THE premier venue for uncensored news and information regarding the Global jihad. Both its format and content are 100% on point and I see no reason to wish for that to change in any way. What I am asking you or anyne else reading this is if anyone has information about a site that is dedictated to active Resistance and user interaction, networking and exchange of ideas.
We have no way but WIN this if we all put our heads together. But we'll have to do more than just talk and bich and moan. Iron out possible differences.. discuss and refine strategies... share eventual success stories..
.. AND discuss our shared OBJECTIVES. Their objective is CLEAR. What is truly OUR main aim? Remember: a determined fascist enemy seems strong due to its singleminded display of purpose [which masks its porous weak underbelly brilliantly] when we see it in confrontation with our diverse liberal and "corrupt" democracies.. see Weimar, Great Britain [at first], France, and even the USA whose populace saw no reason to get into it once again. Russia was simply forced onto the Allied side when Hitler decided to backstab Stalin by breaking the pact they'd made between them. The Russian people as history has shown can rise to be either a powerful ally as much as they can be a mighty foe. As victims of islamic terror they, too are our naturall allies.
Are there any sites that focus on my particular concerns out there?

Also, lets not forget that Winston Churchill was aware of the potential danger of Islam back in 1899 - a full 80 years before the Iranian Revolution and 102 years before the 9/11 atrocity. He wrote "The River War" back in 1899 when he was only 25 years old, which was an account of his times in the Sudan (when it was still 70% Christian as opposed to 70% Muslim today), and immortal passages from it include:
“How dreadful are the curses which Mohammedanism lays on its votaries! Besides the fanatical frenzy, which is as dangerous in a man as hydrophobia in a dog, there is this fearful fatalistic apathy. The effects are apparent in many countries. Improvident habits, slovenly systems of agriculture, sluggish methods of commerce, and insecurity of property exist wherever the followers of the Prophet rule or live. A degraded sensualism deprives this life of its grace and refinement, the next of its dignity and sanctity. The fact that in Mohammedan law every woman must belong to some man as his absolute property, either as a child, a wife, or a concubine, must delay the final extinction of slavery until the faith of Islam has ceased to be a great power among men.
“Individual Moslems may show splendid qualities. Thousands become the brave and loyal soldiers of the Queen: all know how to die - but the influence of the religion paralyses the social development of those who follow it. No stronger retrograde force exists in the world. Far from being moribund, Mohammedanism is a militant and proselytizing faith. It has already spread throughout Central Africa, raising fearless warriors at every step; and were it not that Christianity is sheltered in the strong arms of science, the science against which it had vainly struggled, the civilisation of modern Europe might fall, as fell the civilisation of ancient Rome.”
and
“The religion of Islam above all others was founded upon the sword … Moreover it provides incentives to slaughter, and in three continents has produced fighting breeds of men – filled with a wild and merciless fanaticism.”
It is a scandal that this has been concealed from people's attention - especially after 911 itself. Political correctness has left us vulnerable to the Jihadis. Knowledge-wise, too many of us are unarmed, and have been conditioned into thinking that criticism of Islam is racist and bigoted, and that it is an attack on 'vulnerable brown people'. But Jihadis don't see things this way. Unlike us, they divide the world sharply into believer and unbeliever regardless of skin colour, whilst we non-Muslims, thanks to political correctness, divide it into white, black, brown and yellow, and believe that only white people are capable of racism.

Glad to be of help Gramfan,
The 'Australian' is pretty good, even the 'Sydney Morning Herald' (which is more PC) has articles by journalists who tell the truth about the RoP. 'The Age' of Melbourne is mostly leftist BS.
Remember Cronulla 2005 is the first time since 1683 at the Gates of Vienna, that a infidel population said enough is enough and took on the jihadists.

zonie kafir, RS explains "allah ackbar" somewhere here on the site, I can't find it right now. It means, "our god is greater than yours" and is an insult to Christians at the same time. The Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem is one big insult to Jews and Christians, it says in essence "God has no sons" and of course is sitting on the Jewish Temple Mount.
/if you seriously asked, not a rhetorical question

Hugh:
You stated that ‘other Muslim states’ that derive their income from Tourism aren’t likely to declare the dangers of visiting their countries. That sounds weak on three levels. Firstly, if you visit Egypt or Turkey, you don’t need a state department warning, try turning on the news or reading tripadvisor.com (i.e. take responsibility yourself). You sounded like Bruce Willis, who post-9/11 refused to fly from LA to NYC (weak). Secondly, by your statement, we should not travel to Bethlehem because the area is controlled by Muslims. Well Hugh, you stay at home and spend your dollars at Disneyworld, because I travel where I please.
And lastly, your statement doesn’t fit the real world. I have just returned from Bali, which is 80% Hindu (within the Muslim state of Indonesia). If people listed to this comment of yours, they wouldn’t travel there…and I am not going to allow some little prick of a bomber stop me from visiting one of the most beautiful places on earth.

albion
you are missing hugh's point.
By visiting Bali which is part of indonesia you are giving money to islamic indonesia.
I refuse to give my money to muslim countries, also out of respect to the non-muslim communities living there.
Maldives are 100% muslims with lots of stupids vacationing there. No money to the murderers.
I am sure there are equivalent (if not better) shores or places than Maldives or Bali.
I wouldn't enjoy my expensive vacation (any vacation for the average european in muslim countries is not CHEAP) to be around people that talking to each other they say "look, there's a western (whore) there", an infidel to spill money etc"
Exactly like I don't go where people are known to be quite arrogant or rude, I don't go to muslim countries.
Unfortunately if you go to holiday/travelling forums there are plenty of (western) idiots queing to go to muslim countries even dangerous ones or places that have no value or inner interest.

Actually, the phrase "God has no son" is carved in stone on the outer wall of that mosque; it doesn't just say it "in essence" -- it boldly and arrogantly publicizes it in stone.

If Egypt doesn't come under a State Department warning. Why not? Doesn't the Luxor atrocity from 1997 when 64 tourists were murdered by Jihadists in the Valley of the Kings count. Or Sharm al-Sheikh where around 100 tourists were murdered last year, I think. And there's no way I will contribute to Jihad countries and grease the palms of murderers.
