Sudan Jihad Update from the Christian Science Monitor: "Government attacks intensify in Darfur"
NAIROBI, KENYA - Three years after rebels from the farming tribes of Darfur rose up against the Arab-dominated government in Khartoum, Sudan, the region is staring into the abyss once again.
Government planes have embarked on a wave of indiscriminate bombings in Darfur, killing civilians in Sudan's war-torn western region, according to human rights campaigners.
Witness statements collected by Human Rights Watch (HRW) and Amnesty International detail deaths and injuries to women and children as Russian-made Antonov planes deliver their deadly payload. "Government forces are bombing villages with blatant disregard for civilian lives," says Peter Takirambudde, HRW's Africa director.
The fresh government onslaught against rebel-held villages is being played out against a backdrop of diplomatic uncertainty, as Khartoum rejects outside peacekeeping efforts amid its push to establish full sovereignty over the area.
This week, Khartoum threatened to evict a cash-strapped, weak African Union (AU) monitoring force when its mandate expires Sept. 30.
Government figures also continued to voice strident opposition to the deployment of a proposed force of more than 20,000 UN peacekeepers - seen by many analysts as the only way to rein in combatants in a war that has killed more than 200,000 people and forced some 2.5 million to flee to squalid aid camps.
On the subject of "strident opposition," Sudanese jihadists have threatened to fight the Khartoum government if it accepts UN peacekeepers, the presence of which Ayman al-Zawahiri has termed a colonialist move "to prepare to occupy and divide [Sudan]."
[...]
John Prendergast, a senior adviser at the International Crisis Group who has just returned to the US from Darfur, said the reported attacks were merely the "first moves on the chessboard," as the government massed troops in Darfur.
"They are embarked on their usual strategy of cutting the umbilical cord of the rebellion by destroying the civilian population, a strategy which is unchanged since 2003 and 2004," he says.
Residents of El Fasher, the regional capital of North Darfur, report the daily arrival of planes delivering troops and arms. HRW reports that one woman was killed and seven children injured near Kulkul, when a bomb was rolled from the back of an Antonov cargo plane. Amnesty International has accounts of government planes bombing Kulkul to prepare for ground troops and their Janjaweed allies.
For now, 7,000 AU soldiers are charged with protecting civilians and aid workers. They have struggled to stamp their authority on an area the size of France.
[...]
Last week, the UN Security Council voted to take over and expand the peacekeeping effort. But the plan has been rejected repeatedly by the Sudanese government.
Sudan's president, Omar Al-Bashir, has vowed to fight off UN troops himself, and warned that Sudan would take on international soldiers "as Hizbullah beat Israeli forces." His ministers have also stepped up pressure on the AU, warning that AU troops can stay beyond September only if they drop plans to hand over their operation to the UN.

This is incredible. I did not know this was happening.
This is a country whose President could have chosen peace, but instead decided to enforce, by violence, Islam on the Southern half of Sudan.
Sudanese Christians have been being murdered by these Arab-African Muslims now for centuries. They hold them in slavery to this very day. They go into their villages and wipe them out. The desecrate their churches.
Palestine? Every man, woman, or child who speaks of "Palestine" as the world's "most horrible place" is a grave liar. Palestinians are killed because they are a ruthless brood of snakes who refuse peace with their neighboring Jews. They force their own people to suffer. The whole Muslim world refuses proper aid to them but exploits their "suffering" to justify global jihad.
All the while this has been happening, with a few thousand Palestinians dead over several decades - and a few thousand Israelis - the Muslims have been laughing about Sudan where they have tens of thousands of Christians in slavery and they have murdered over two million.
Two million.
Palestinian Jew murdering terrorists blow themselves up to slaughter little children and the whole world cries... while two million Africans die at the hands of savage Islamists and no one sheds a tear.
They are complicit. They are complicit in this crime just as they were with the Holocaust, with Rwanda, with the horrors of the Soviet Union, with the Armenian Genocide, and with every other horror the Left, the Neo-Nazis, the Islamists and their ilk have brought forth on this planet.
"Save the planet", the Left cries while they stand on the dead of the Holocaust and make tea from the blood of the Sudanese.

Nova Rocket, Darfur is in the Western part of Sudan and the victims of the government-aided murder there are fellow Muslims. Darfur is an example of Islam as Arab-supremacism. The Janjawid militias responsible for the gruesome slaughter are Arabs or Aran wannabes. Apparently they regard the native peoples of Darfur, fellow Muslims mind you, as inferior Muslims who can be subjected to jihad for reasons that perhaps only Mssrs Spencer and Fitzgerald could make somewhat clear. Someting like - as there are no kaffirs to kill around here, I need to have someone - you'll do just fine. You don't speak Arabic and I do. That settles it. You must die!
The interesting thing about the whole Darfur business is to contrast it with the ongoing slaughter and slavery carried out by Muslims against Christians and tribal peoples in the south. Even though it started only a couple of years ago, Darfur - a Muslim civil war - has received far more media and idiot-celebrity attention than the south has after more than 20 years.
While two million African Christians are slaughtered and countless more enslaved and tortured over two decades are largely ignored by the global elites and self-appointed world saviors, work themselves up into a full lather over a Muslim on Muslim conflict over territory. Look at it this way: If the Sudanese Islamic militias are busy slaughtering other Muslims in the west, they will have fewer resources to devote to the ongoing jihad against Christians in the South. To paraphrase Bismarck, Darfur isn't worth the bones of a single Marine.

Further background, from a long article in the August issue of Harper's Magazine:
"Darfur was for several hundred years an independent Islamic sultanate, with a population of both Arabs and black African tribes. As a result of intermarriage, the "Arabs" are all quite black, and the distinction between the two groups, since both are Muslim, has been based on their respective native tongues. Annexed to Sudan by the British in 1916 to prevent the sultanate from entering the war on the side of Turkey and Gemany, Darfur was thereafter neglected by the colonial power. When Sudan became independent in 1956, the new government continued this policy. Darfur was not exceptional; Sudan is both enormous and overcentralized. Khartoum has largely ignored the country's peripheral areas, though they represent the greatest part of both the territory and the population. The south, being black African in culture and Christian, was the first to rebel. The Muslim areas, blinded by the illusory "common bond" of Islam, took longer to realize they were no better off than the Christian south..."
The issues surrounding the international responses, including the UN's and the use of the term 'genocide', are complex and examined here in some detail. But it is clear that Arabic if not Arabs, and purported differences in skin color are trumping the much trumpeted claim that Islam is color blind. The concept of the solidarity of the umma is taking some big hits.
As Ralph Peters might put it, the Darfuri Arab militias, the janjaweed, are a no-account low-thread count collection of murdering racists.

Speaking of Hizballah 'beating' Israel. Unfortunately, this is the case. What does Israel have to show for the cease-fire they granted Hizballah? They havent even gotten their two soldiers back! Is Olmert mad?

Has WWII taught us nothing? What are we waiting for? Let's declare war! Let's topple this Islamic bane! Is it only unacceptable for Christians to commit genocide against Muslims?

Funny these nazi-muftis should mention the hesbos.. WHERE THE HECK are the MSN and the stiff-upper-lip BBC/NPR reporters lining up to film and fotograf every single bombing and the wailings about civilians lost?? Let's petition CNN, BBC, CBS, NPR and ask WHY ARE YOUR people NOT in Darfur to document the Holocaust that is being perpetrated there in the name of the pedophile moon god?! We are awakening!!! They are bombing our brothers and sisters in Darfur and I demand answers and media coverage. The Darfurians did NOT take hostages nor did they shoot rockets at Khartoum. The Hesbos started the short war with Israel and the UN/MSM saved their mohamedan asses and now they go and declare victory. What a joke! We need to ARM the Resistance in Darfur!! Train them too.

Maybe I spoke to soon [out of anger].. I am now unsure whether darfur is moslem or Christian. I do NOT favor donating food nor arms nor an iota of support to a mobot region. Let them fight amongs themselves.. our aid should be only for those who stand AGAINST this moon god plague as we do! Earthquakes and Tsunamis for the rest of them!
