Absolutely true. The problem here is not one of intelligence because Muslims (particularly Arabs) are generally intelligent. The problem here is a habit of thought that is second nature (like tying shoe laces) which does not permit critical thinking re their belief system, and which requires Muslim beliefs to be considered as fact. No doubt many Muslims believe that Islam is "a religion of peace" though they would see things differently if it were Catholics committing violence against unbelievers and if the Catholics kept saying, "Catholicism is a religion of peace". Further, they would see the absurdity when Catholics said that noting the connection between Catholic violence and Catholicism is Catholicphobia.

always useful to re-read the unvarnished words of islam. The more I read and ponder, the more absolutely convinced I become that mohammed was the anti-Christ, that mohammed's angel gabriel was an unholy minion of satan, also known as allah. Only the devil wants us to "fall down and worship him." Only the devil would fool his followers into loving death, destruction, terror and mayhem. Only the devil would coerce and terrorize his followers into blind submission. Only the devil would glorify and disguise murder as a holy act. The whole paradise thing is satan's joke to get his witless followers into hell which is where allah spends his time turning the skewered muslim fools over the coals.

Muslims should read carefully. The cosmic joke is on them.

Most of the stuff you have cited is not from the Koran but from the Haddith. About half the Haddith are downright revolting and there is constant debate about which ones are acceptable and which ones aren't. The most revolting ones usually aren't (including the ones you mentioned). For example, there's one justifying rape and it's widely rejected. Also, the Haddith are not obligatory and the Koran is.

In addition, there are just as many passages of mercy in the Koran. And you're only supposed to kill people trying to kill you.

That said, apparantly fewer and fewer people are reading the passages of mercy and it is very much in vogue these days to claim some as-yet-to-be-defined "western oppression" (HA!) as justification for terrorism. This is not a version of Islam that existed in, say, Egypt in the middle of the last century (certainly not the one I was taught). Islam progressed and societies were on a path to modernization in certain countries (Saudi Arabia exluded, of course). But Islam has had a massive backslide in the past 50 years, thanks to that part of the world's self-imposed Stalinist regimes. The backward slide was vastly accelerated by the Iranian revolution. I generalize, of course but you have to in the interest of space and time.

I guess this is today's face of Islam. Sad.

However, there are Muslims like us out there who support the war in Iraq and Afghanistan, who understand Mohamed Atta and his ilk necessitate racial profiling (which we also support. Why not? WE'VE got nothing to hide.) not general US "racism". Frankly, we're more terrified of the CAIR-pandering "progressives" than Osama Bin Laden. After all, they're the ones who want to prevent our government from preventing him from dragging us back to the stone ages. I don't know how many of us are out there, though.

I am not at all happy in the media's role here.

Where do you find hard hitting pieces on Islam? It isn't in mainstream media. They are lying to us and keeping the news from the people.

(Yes, there are cable shows here and there... but that is it, and often, usually, when I find them they are not advertised.)

Let's face facts: it is news to know Iran does "hate America" death parades every Friday after prayers and have been since the 79 revolution. It is interesting to see the insane depths these people go to.

It is interesting to see exposes of their usage of the Protocols of Zion...

Most of my news I get from online in these matters.

We are all here from free nations... why is it our media is considering themselves morally superior to their people like totalitarian governments do? Who told them they have the right or the superiority to decide what we can and can not watch?

Thank goodness the leftist mafia no longer has a complete hold on the markets anymore, now that there is Fox, news radio, and the internet.

(And yet how odd the fascist left are the ones whoc claim they are for free speech and they need "independant" media... of course, they are hypocrites... hypocrisy is their politics, hypocrisy is their religion. All sin is hypocrisy.)
