As a Zionist Crusader myself, I am happy to welcome the Pope into the ranks of the Zionists.
"Pope's comments on Islam unite Iraqis" -- wow, George W. Bush should offer the Pope a cabinet post for that. Nothing else has managed to accomplish this so far. From AP, with thanks to the Constantinopolitan Irredentist:
BAGHDAD, Iraq - Often divided by religious differences, Iraq's Shiite and Sunni Arabs united Friday in anger over remarks by Pope Benedict XVI referring to Islam and holy war.Clerics from both communities, which are locked in a vicious cycle of reprisal attacks that have killed thousands of Iraqis, called the pontiff's comments an insult to the Muslim faith and its founder, Prophet Muhammad.
"We denounce this slander made by the pope on Islam and the figure of the Prophet Muhammad," Sheik Salah al-Ubaidi said in a sermon to about 5,000 people in the Shiite Muslim-stronghold of Kufa, about 100 miles south of Baghdad.
"It is the second assault made on Islam and the prophet. Last year, and in the same month, the Danish cartoon assaulted Islam," he said, referring to caricatures of Muhammad published in a Danish newspaper that set off sometimes violent Muslim protests around the globe.
Yes. And it looks as if the reaction will be just as irrational and violent as Global Cartoon Rage.
At the Abdul-Qadir al-Gilani mosque in central Baghdad, Sunni cleric Mahmoud al-Isawi's sermon described the pope's comment as a "Western aggressive attack" that was "clearly showing its hatred toward our Islamic religion."Shiite cleric Sheik Abdul-Kareem al-Ghazi, in Iraq's second-largest city, Basra, said the pope's comments ran counter to the Christian faith.
"The pope and Vatican proved to be Zionists and that they are far from Christianity, which does not differ from Islam. Both religions call for forgiveness, love and brotherhood," he said in a sermon delivered at the offices of radical cleric Muqtada al-Sadr, where many people gather for religious services.
"Christianity does not differ from Islam," that is, in its Qur'anic form, which rejects the doctrine that Jesus is the Son of God and says that those who hold it are under Allah's curse (9:30). From the Islamic perspective, true Christianity is identical to Islam; it just doesn't happen to exist anywhere in the world today.
Al-Ghazi challenged Benedict or any other senior Vatican official to a debate, saying he would be willing to convert to Christianity if the pontiff managed to convince him of his views.
Well, I don't work in the Vatican, but I myself would be happy to debate you, Al-Ghazi.

In any Muslim's dreams, but not in real life. The Christian faith and Islam has too many differences to be able to reconcile.

But tell me, is this coming from the small minority of Islamic extremists who have hijacked the religion of peace? Or are all those pictures of idiots doing the fire stomping dance representative of the extremists or are they card carrying members of Islam itself? And how many of our ostrich-imitating friends are gonna miss this example, as in-your-face as it is?

Remove the Infidel soldiers. Let the Sunnis remember they are Sunnis, and deserve to rule Iraq. Let the Shi'a remember they are Shi'a, and at long last deserve to rule Iraq. While they are both fighting, let the Kurds recall that they are Kurds, and therefore non-Arabs, and then unlikely, no matter what happens between Sunnis and Shi'a, ever to be treated semi-decently by Arabs, "the best of peoples" to whom the Qur'an was given, and in their language. And perhaps some Kurds may, as they free themselves from the Sunni Arabs and the Shi'a Arabs, begin to wonder just a bit about the wonderfulness of Islam itself, that vehicle of Arab supremacist ideology. And others -- Berbers, Malays -- might even begin to think along the same lines.
Eliminate the middle-man. Bring those troops out of Iraq, and concentrate -- for god sake, did Iraq, as Samuel L. Jackson once put it, "spoil your concentration" -- on Iran. And start concentrating on halting campaigns of Da'wa and demographic conquest in Western Europe and even in North America. Not thinking in twenty years. Not in ten years. Now.

What is a Zionist? Is a Zionist someone who supports Israel, someone who acknowledges the existance of Israel? Because all of Europe and most of the world is "Zionist".
The Crusades was a defensive war.
Islamists claim to be defensive, but they are liars.
They speak no truth.
They attack us and then claim to be defending themselves. They murder and then blame the murder of the victim on the victim himself.
They claim "Christianity does not differ from Islam" pretending to mean to Christians they accept our religion... but they lie. They mean that Islam is the true Christianity, the true followers of Christ -- this is what these liars claim... and this is why Christians have every need to judge them, and every authority to do so.
Islamists are fake Christians, heretics. Anti-Christians.

To me a Zionist is someone who believes the Jews have a right to their own homeland where they can live without being persecuted, which of course, they have been for centuries. Just MHO.
I have to disagree that all of Europe and most of the world is "Zionist". No one other than the US and Australian governments fully support the right of Israeli's to live in peace. Just think of the comments during the Lebanese war. Most reporters don't even mention the katyusha rockets - just the abducted soldiers and Israel's

Other than that I agree with all comments here.
I am concerned this could end up worse than the cartoon fiasco. The implications are, to me, so horrendous: we can't even have free speech in our own western countries!! Who gives these creeps the right to tell us what to do? I didn't vote for them to govern me!!
Their reaction actually proves the point the Pope was making when he read that quotation.

I don't know about that: there are quite a few Leftist unitarian Christians who wouldn't have to do much to be born again as Muslims.

Do the people in attendance actually believe that? How many stories of Christians dying gruesome deaths by Muslim hands have they heard? How many Muslims can tolerate to treat Christians fairly?

Funny all the noise these muftis make when sopmeone draws a cartoon or makes a comment about their pedo Mo. They are CONSPICUOUSLY SILENT when it comes to events like 9/11 and all the other atrocities they routinely commit. They are exposing themselves more and more...
Too bad we still have the folks like Bob Schieffer and John McCain using their postions of power and influence to the detriment of the American and by extension all Western People.

What ticks me off is the muslim intolerance to freedom of speech. They better watch their mouths because God IS on the Pope's side.

The truth is that the more Christians and other non-Muslims understand the beliefs of Islam re Dar-al-Islam and see the debased portrayal of the Jewish people as Apes and Pigs in the Koran, the more non-Jewish people realize that "peace" with Israel, for a Muslim, means the annihilation of Israel. Many Christians and other non-Jewish people used to think the Arab-Israeli issue was political and could be settled by negotiation. That's changed. Many non-Jews are now Zionists.
