Christian Killed in Iraq in Response to Pope's Speech: Islamic Website

That'll teach him to preach against religious violence. From AINA, with thanks to Tom:

(AINA) -- According to the website Islam Memo, one Christian was killed in Baghdad after the Pope's speech two days ago. The speech created a wave of anger throughout the Islamic world, including Iraq. A poster has been placed in many Baghdad mosques for the previously unknown group, "Kataab Ashbal Al Islam Al Salafi," (Islamic Salafist Boy Scout Battalions). This group threatens to kill all Christians in Iraq if the Pope does not apologize in three days in front of the whole world to Mohammed.

Those Boy Scouts should have stuck to wood carving.

I guess the peaceful religion of Islam has spoken. Shame on the pope for casting aspersions over that beautiful, loving religion.

I apologise for my flippant comment earlier. I thought that only muslims would be killing each other, like in the Cartoons crisis.

This is getting serious, and this could be what starts World War 3.

I hope the pope doesn't grovel to muslims, but I really do fear for his safety now.

Say what?!!!

"The speech created a wave of anger throughout the Islamic world ... "

Should read:

Seventh-century-mentality hordes of lunatics looking for any excuse to wreak havoc, murder, mayhem, created waves of violent acts worldwide. !!!!

Leftist-dominated global media has accepted full dhimmitude (along with masses of politicians and effete academicians) and gladly spews terrorists' propaganda.

The Pope should of made the speech on Sunday. You know that Muslims are just looking for a reason to chant

"death to Christians"
"death to Israel"
"death to America"
"death to Britain"
"death to the apostates"
"death to heratics"

after Friday prayers.

Now they want to blow up the Vatican - and the Swiss Guard didn't even send troops to Iraq.

I would have won more debates in my high school debating club, had I employed the technique of killing those whom I disagreed with.

I'm starting to understand the definition, Religion of Peace. The dead Christian is certainly at "peace" now...and it can all be attributed to Islam.

Well you have to credit the world's Muslims for trying to hold back their anger over such incidiary attacks. CAIR hasn't even posted on their website yet, demanding the Pope apologize or step down, or worse - get sued by CAIR's ACLU lawyers.

Then again, neither have they called on the Muslim world to calm down and quit overreacting to any little thing that has the slightest hint at criticism of Islam.

Now it is imperative that the Pope does not back down and neither do we. If this is what we can expect when we disagree with Islam, we must roll up the newspaper and smack the dog on the nose, HARD. If we don't, we will get more of the same and these smug bastards will think they can do anything, anytime, and we won't be able to do anything about it.

I'm sorry to say but it may be time to start seriously thinking about a nuclear alternative to the "peaceful" negotiations that will be suggested to solve the problem, and which will, as usual, only succeed in giving the Islamists a good laugh and emboldening them to destroy several more of us. And we need to think about it before they have one that they can send back our way.

How these people make me sick. Please, Pope, do not grovel to these bullies. PLEASE.

Pardon me for noticing, but the Muslims have been killing Christians long before the Pope made his comments - oh for like 1400 years now.

I can certainly understand the Vatican's concern that these comments could accelerate this process. But these comments ARE NOT THE CAUSE. They are THE RESPONSE. And delaying (or avoiding) this sort of honesty about what is actually going on is not going to solve the problem.

Typical Muslim savagery.

It is very dangerous for foreigners to visit any Muslim country because they are such ravenous dogs... beasts. Yet, they come to our countries and live in peace and prosperity because of our superior righteousness. While they are sheltered in the peaceful sun of our nations which are blessed by God... they plot our murders.

You can not dine with a snake, it will kill you.

I have no hope for these savages to be able to handle democracy, as they clearly show they are unworthy of it. They belong in cages, not in a free country.

I am glad we are there because it is a front on the war in terrorism. We are killing terrorists there. That needs to keep up. Further, it is a perfect strategic location to launch attacks on Iran, Syria, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia.

Because we know... sooner or later... we will need to.

The irony is so thick. This whole affair would be hilarious if it were not so alarming.

What are the ramifications of this? If some part of our history could be construed as offensive to Muslims, we are not allowed to discuss it, under penalty of death..?

Xero G, thanks for the explanation! Even I get it now.

And it wasn't even the Pope's words that were spoken. A 600-some-odd year old speech was quoted.
That poor Christian that died at the hands of blood-thirsty and savage barbarians. What did he do? He was at the wrong place at the wrong time. But now he is in a much better place, being a martyr.

I disagree with an above comment in as much as.. World War 3 has started already.. 5 years ago. People are only now realizing it.

This is a war we MUST win. Or everything our country (USA) was founded on will be destroyed.. and so will we.

PS.. not just the USA, but everyone who enjoys freedom.. anywhere.

Comment: Being an Ex-Translator, I wasn't able to help myself:-
"Kataab Ashbal Al Islam Al Salafi," (Islamic Salafist Boy Scout Battalions), should read:" The Battalions of the Lion Cubs of Salafist Islam ".

The Pope said nothing to back down from. Your Holiness, please don't back down.

This reminds me of Hockey Dad Thomas Junta who was so upset about violent play on the ice that he killed a guy.
