The Iranians are apparently hoping to use Pope Rage to stoke up the world war they've been wanting. "Iranian leader urges more papal protests," from AP, with thanks to the Constantinopolitan Irredentist:
CAIRO, Egypt - Al-Qaida in Iraq warned Pope Benedict XVI on Monday that its war against Christianity and the West will go on until Islam takes over the world, and Iran's supreme leader called for more protests over the pontiff's remarks on Islam.[...]
"The pope's words have caused a deep wound in the hearts of Muslims that won't heal for a long time, and then only after a clear apology to Muslims," Egypt's religious affairs minister, Mahmoud Hamdi Zaqzouq, wrote in a column in the government daily Al-Ahram on Monday.
An influential Egyptian cleric, Sheik Youssef al-Qaradawi, called for protests after weekly prayers on Friday, but maintained they should be peaceful.
Extremists said the pope's comments proved that the West was in a war against Islam.
Al-Qaida in Iraq and its allies said Muslims would be victorious and addressed the pope as "the worshipper of the cross," saying "you and the West are doomed as you can see from the defeat in Iraq,
Afghanistan, Chechnya and elsewhere. ... We will break up the cross, spill the liquor and impose the 'jizya' tax, then the only thing acceptable is a conversion (to Islam) or (being killed by) the sword."Islam forbids drinking alcohol and requires non-Muslims to pay the "jizya" tax, though those who convert are exempt. The tax, sometimes called a head tax, has not been imposed in Muslim nations in about 100 years, though Islamic militant groups have tried to force non-Muslims to pay it on a local level in some countries.
"You infidels and despots, we will continue our jihad (holy war) and never stop until God avails us to chop your necks and raise the fluttering banner of monotheism, when God's rule is established governing all people and nations," said the statement by the Mujahedeen Shura Council, an umbrella organization of Sunni Arab extremist groups in Iraq.
Another Iraqi extremist group, Ansar al-Sunna, challenged "sleeping Muslims" to prove their manhood by doing something other than "issuing statements or holding demonstrations."
"If the stupid pig is prancing with his blasphemies in his house," the group said in a Web statement, referring to the pope, "then let him wait for the day coming soon when the armies of the religion of right knock on the walls of Rome."
In Iran, supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei used the comments to call for protests against the United States. He argued that while the pope may have been deceived into making his remarks, the words give the West an "excuse for suppressing Muslims" by depicting them as terrorists.
"Those who benefit from the pope's comments and drive their own arrogant policies should be targeted with attacks and protests," he said, referring to the United States.

I'm sure the Holy See can start taking up an additional Peter's Pence, in order to procure their own main battle tanks, ATGMs, attack helos...in order to maintain the Episcopal Sees in the midst of the Mohommedans...underemployed Frenchmen and Germans, ex-national service now have employment in the a reconstituted Holy See Defense Forces Commando, not seen since the disbanding of the Papal States in the 1870's.

What have I been saying? Iran wants a war. We are just in a waiting game. The pope's comments(while I do support them) are MASSIVELY converting moderates in the middle east to jihadists. Then, as usual, the iranians come along and "awake the people" to the bullshit fact that "we and israel put the pope forward to once again make it clear we are out to destroy islam".
This is what will do it. This breaks the uprising of world war III. Iran giving weapons to hezbollah(which is iran's proxy army),hamas, iraqi insurgency, al-crazy. Now what else? Japan readying more sanctions on North Korea? Couldn't come at a better time. How can you expect to back madmen into a corner and not expect them to swing back? I find it amazing that the UN was created to prevent another world war, but is unintentionally lending a hand to create another one.

this is getting ridiculous. What's next? Perhaps something like this...
Muslims to the rest of the world: Stop breathing our air!
AP. According to Islamic beliefs, Allah created oxygen for believers only, yet many insensitive infidels such as Pope Benedict insist on offending muslim religious sensibilities by breathing it. Muslims call for an immediate apology from all infidels for breathing their air, followed by all infidels pernamently holding their breath from now on.

A lot of the above statements are very telling:
"...Chechnya and elsewhere. ... We will break up the cross, spill the liquor and impose the 'jizya' tax, then the only thing acceptable is a conversion (to Islam) or (being killed by) the sword."
Many non-Muslim Russians are non-religious, and most of those that are are Russian Orthodox, and had nothing to do with the Pope's comments. This makes no difference to radical Muslims, who regard all Westerners as "Jews and Christians".
"You infidels and despots, we will continue our jihad (holy war) and never stop until God avails us to chop your necks and raise the fluttering banner of monotheism..."
Despite the occasional nattering about the "people of the book" most radical Muslims consider Islam alone to be "monotheism". After all, if the Pope himself isn't a monotheist, who else outside the Muslim world could be?
I also like the reference to "despots". Most radical Muslims feel they are being humiliated and oppressed by merely having to peacefully tolerate non-Muslims (unless they are in a state of Dhimmitude). This is not how most of the rest of the world uses the concept of "despotism".
"In Iran, supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei used the comments to call for protests against the United States."
Yeah, it always comes back to the US, even though the Pope is a fully independent head of his own state, as well as the leader of almost 2 billion Catholics worldwide. It's still the fault of the US.
"He argued that while the pope may have been deceived into making his remarks, the words give the West an "excuse for suppressing Muslims" by depicting them as terrorists".
Well, then, that's it. The fact that so many of them *are* terrorists or sympathize openly with their aims has nothing to do with it.
We're all in it together. Radical Muslims regard *all* non-Muslims as enemies, especially the West. I think that this is something that more people are finally beginning to wake up to.

Purple Haze,
Some day, most will thank God the Pope pulled the rug up and exposed the unvarnished truth of Islam. The idiotic Muslims have proved the Pope's quoted statements to be exactly on target. mohammed only brought evil and violence. That's all we see in reaction to the quoted statement. FINALLY, I'm starting to hear many who were in "la la land (Islam is actually a great religion of peace being highjacke.....) come to grips with the truth. Just listening to the idle chatter when the subject arises gives my much anecdotal evidence that the sleeping giant is finally awakening.
These weak, cowardly Muslims have no idea what they will face soon. They want to believe all non-Muslims are decadent and afraid. That is their only hope: Scare everyone into submission: We love death like you love life....(yawn). I have seen Muslim men in military/combat scenarios. They are the most undisciplined, weak, and cowardly men on the face of Earth. The IDF was never "that" good. It's that Muslim men they faced are that cowardly and weak. Muslims make good suicide-murderers because all they must do is push a button. Pregnant women have committed suicide murder. My daughter could commit suicide murder. A MAN faces the enemy and fights with the hope of survival. He fights with a life worth living, yet willing to risk all for the cause. We don't honor those who commit suicide because they are cowards. However, the Muslims honor this act. They don't seem to understand that all their "martyrs" are currently burning in Hell, wondering about the 72 virgins.
Westerners and all other non-Muslims need to quit being afraid of the ridiculous hyperbole. That's what these cowards desire. Their only hope to win. They know, deep down, that Islam is full of crap. It is a pack of lies from a perverted, pedophile terrorist. They cannot face the fact that they have followed such lies and wasted their lives and souls.
Anyway, the Pope's comments were on target and came at the right time. Now, we can all awaken to the fact that we have nothing to lose in fighting back. These weak cowardly Muslim men need to feel the brunt of true pain. When they see true men who will face death to fight back, they will crap their pants. There are plenty willing to give all to fight back, and as time goes on there will be more.
Though I'm a die-hard Evangelical, I must say: God Bless the Pope!

I think I have to say I like this Pope He has asked a Q? to the mulsum world if it could live in peace with their neighbors and we are waiting for their answer other than hate??
Well was that 14 century guy right are they just about hate and evil??
Qur’an 74:31 “We have appointed nineteen angels to be the wardens of the Hell Fire. We made a stumbling-block for those who disbelieve and We have fixed their number as a trial for unbelievers in order that the people of the Book may arrive with certainty, and that no doubts may be left for the people of the Book, those in whose hearts is a disease. And for those to whom the Scripture Book has been given, and the believers, there should be no doubt. The unbelievers may say, ‘What does the Lord intend by this?’ The Lord will lead astray whomever He pleases, and He will guide whomever He pleases: and none can know the armies of your Lord except He, and this is no other than a warning to mankind.”
This can be broken by Yes it is the Army of the people of the Book who he has chosen to Free [USA] the Iraqi people as it says
Ubl,saddam, zawari, all who Kill and destroy mankind?
There will be no more warnings?

Iran doesn't want to get stomped; they just don't know any better. Mahmoud came of age in 1979, amid Jimmy Carter's impotence.
Mahmoud is a new leader and his keepers are new to the stage as well, they have achieved gains for Iran by making brazen stands in a world afraid of conflict. They're starting to believe their own lies.
The sooner the conflict comes, the better.
"Those who benefit from the pope's comments and drive their own arrogant policies should be targeted with attacks and protests," he said, referring to the United States.
Keep talking.

Iran is provoking the west again.
Since the shah of Iran was deposed in the 1979 by Islamic fundamentalists, Iran has resisted the United Stated at every front.
In 1979 the Islamic fundamentalists in Iran invaded the U.S. embassy ( a sovereign territory) and held U.S. citizens hostage for 444 days.
Since the Iranian fundamentalists took over Iran in 1979, the "Islamic Republic of Iran" has sponsored Hizbollah terrorist attacks inside Israel and all throughout the world.
During the past five years, the United States has taken out all of Iran's territorial enemies, namely the Taliban in Afghanistan and Sadaam Huessein in Iraq.
How do the Iranians interpret the intervention of the United States in their own region?
Well, many Iranians believe that Allah himself has cleared its own path and is inviting Iran onto the stage to become a major world power.
Iran wants to be taken seriously by the world community and is attempting to develop nuclear weapons.
Iranians have seized on the Pope's remarks and is igniting Islamic anger to intimidate and weaken the Christian west.

Reading this site is an extremely depressing experience. I dont know why I keep torturing myself coming here every day. What is the point? Spencer and others like him are modern-day Cassandras. We clearly are witnessing the fall of the Western civilization. Pat Buchanan is right. The barbarians are already in the city, and our decadent people have no will to fight. We are doomed. My son will see an impoverished America with a majority third world population, and moving to an Islamic Western Europe will not be an option. Eastern Europe will be the only place where Western values will survive.

Heard some phenomenal stupidity from Sean Hannity on the radio today. Someone called him to argue that Islam was an extremist religion, and Hannity dismissed the speaker by saying that "every religion has extremists."
This is about as intelligent as saying, "every home has reading material in it." Great. That tells one almost nothing. Because some homes have three books, some have dozens and some have thousands. In some, 90% of the reading material is of horrible quality, in others, 20%, in still others less than 1% is horrible. But with Hannity to guide one, there is no significant difference between the reading materials in these homes. Hannity, who has often railed against relativism, thus in effect proclaims it in the area of religion. Clearly, people like Hannity with big public platforms want to avoid provoking indiscriminate anti-Muslim behavior that could hurt innocent people. Well, let such behavior be actively discouraged, but Hannity should avoid foolish empty statements like "every religion has extremists." The point is, how many and how extreme? Islam clearly has more and worse extremists than Buddhism, Judaism, Hinduism, Christianity and a half dozen other most popular religions on the globe. Literally thousands of people, not just in Israel or Iraq, but all over the globe have been killed by Islamic extremists over the last five years, and if one looks at the history of Islam and at the Quran and Hadith, such violence is not especially out of character.
In fairness, I later switched the car radio back on and Hannity was then making a distinction between Islam and other religions -- saying that Islam, more than other religions, seems to forbid any kind of criticism. He referred to the extreme violence in response to the cartoons of Muhammad, and pointed out that nothing like those murdurous rampages result when the Pope is criticized and lampooned, which happens all the time.

This might seem off-topic, but it would be quite on-topic in any of these threads pertaining to the Pope's speech. It's a quote from the Introduction to a book by Kenneth Baxter Wolf, Christian Martyrs in Spain:
The city of Córdoba was the setting for an unusual historical drama that unfolded between the years 850 and 859, when forty-eight Christians were decapitated for religious offenses against Islam. More striking than the number of executions were the peculiar circumstances surrounding them. For one thing, as the sources unambiguously demonstrate, the majority of the victims deliberately invoked capital punishment by publicly blaspheming Muhammad and disparaging Islam. Moreover, though some Cordoban Christians applauded the executed Christians as martyrs, others regarded them as self-immolators whose unwarranted outbursts served only to expose the community as a whole to the emirs suspicions.
The entire book is available for free on-line:

From the same book I quoted above, about the great "Golden Age" of Muslim Spain:
In the spring of 850, a [Christian] priest named Perfectus was arrested and later executed for publicly expressing his opinions about the errors of Islam to a group of Muslims. [Later in the book, the author quotes a contemporary Christian who describes it more vividly, that Perfectus was "dragged forcibly to his passion"]
Months later a Christian merchant named Joannes suffered a severe lashing, public humiliation, and a long prison term for invoking the prophet's name as he sold his wares in the marketplace.
at September 19, 2006 3:26 AM
Sorry, a couple more interesting details, about the public castigation of the Christian merchant named Joannes I mentioned above: according to one of the Christian [actually a Muslim apostate] eyewitnesses reported by the contemporary Christian, Eulogius, the Muslim crowd were "clamoring for the merchant's execution", and the merchant nevertheless withstood the whipping with "serenity".
Remember, the only offense this Christian merchant had done was "invoke the name of Mohammed" while selling his wares in the public market.

I don't usually post here but I would like to make a comment about having a "set". How many of you have ever been in actual combat? Situations where it was your life on the line. How many of you have been shot at by our countrys enemys or had a grenade thrown at you? Ever been through a rocket attack? Or been sniped at?
Less than one tenth of 1% of our popualation have ever been in actual combatto defend our country or our fellow veterans. Facing death in combat is the most frightening thing you can ever experience.
Most of us combat veterans are awake to what we are faced with in islam. We are out here waiting for the moment when we can once again defend our flag and our way of life.Because of the sacrifices of Combat Veterans we are free.
I*f less than 1% of the popualation can give you so much freedom, just imagine how far we could spread that freedom and defeat the evil in islam if the other 99.9% grew some.

How can anyone apologise for something that is the truth, don't Muslims have the brains to read their own books. Other than the first quarter of the Quran it is full of rape, kill, take slaves, booty, torture and destroy those who will not submit to Allah, and what's more their esteemed leader, (Mohammad) showed the way and of course he kept one 5th of the booty that they stole and killed for.
Yes in the first part of the bible they destroyed different races, because the people were sacrificing children etc, but like all other religious books, the bible from Moses time was, do NOT murder, steal, etc, they are told to love their enemies, forgive, love your neighbours as yourself, love your wife as yourself, help others regardless of race, creed. etc etc.. .
Any littlest slight causes Muslims to become violent and kill, so why should the Pope say sorry, they prove by their actions over and over again that they are a violent, dangerious, evil, cruel people, with no love, no forgiveness, no patience, no tolerance, etc...
The Quran is the only religious book which teacher horrors for those who will not except, ALL other religions teach love, tolerance etc and without conditions...
