Apparently not all Somalis are thrilled with the Talibanization of Somalia, even if the mujahedin do make the trains run on time. From the Mail & Guardian, with thanks to DFS:
Islamic fighters opened fire on stone-throwing demonstrators in a key Somali seaport on Thursday, in a third day of protests over their seizure of the town. No casualties were reported.Seven women were arrested by the Islamic militia after they joined demonstrations that have erupted in Kismayo, Somalia's third largest town, residents told The Associated Press on condition of anonymity for fear of reprisals.
The stone-throwing crowds chanted that the fighters "are not Muslims" and "use Islam as a cover".
The Islamic militia has swept through southern Somalia since taking over the capital in June. Its strict and often severe interpretation of Islam raises the spectre of Afghanistan's ousted Taliban militia, and contrasts with the moderate Islam that has dominated Somali culture for centuries. Some Somalis, though, have welcomed the order the militia have brought after years of anarchic clan rule.
In Kismayo on Thursday, demonstrators, most of them women and children, blocked roads with trees and rocks to prevent Islamic militia using their armoured trucks, many of which were flying the black flags associated with Islamic extremism, to break up the protests.

QUOTE: ".. moderate Islam that has dominated Somali culture for centuries."
If 'moderate' Islam dominated Somalia and it had descended into violent barbarism past few decades, it doesn't speak well for 'moderate Islam' in general.
Why do we keep looking for that illusive 'moderate' Islamic population? Now we know where they are. In Somalia!
Somalia's solution to problem? Replace 'moderate Islam' with Sharia 'strict Islam'. No hope, 'Peace' as understood by Sharia will be observed, by everybody or else, and those who disobey this 'peace' will be punished, caned, hung, or shot. Welcome to the future of Islam-peace.
Where are the 'moderates' in Islam speaking out against this?

Girl rejects boy – he starts riots that burn 18 churches
Nigerian catastrophe triggered when Christian brushes off Muslim's 'advances'

An investigation has revealed that the Muslim riots that destroyed 18 Christian churches, 20 homes owned by Christians and dozens of Christian shops in the Nigerian city of Dutse happened after a Christian girl rejected a Muslim boy's advances.
As WND reported earlier, the riots erupted after the boy accused the girl of "blasphemy" to the prophet Muhammad.
Now word comes from Voice of the Martyrs that the investigation shows nearly 5,000 Christians were displaced and 40 Christian shops destroyed in the capital city of Jigawa state.
"After an Islamic young man made several unsuccessful advances on Jummai, a female Christian, he angrily reacted by calling her a fake Christian who follows a 'useless Jesus,'" the VOM report said.
"Jummai responded by telling the boy he followed a 'useless prophet – Muhammad'," the report said. "Furious, the Muslim boy raised alarm through the town by proclaiming that a Christian lady blasphemed Muhammad. She was quickly taken to the local police station where she was kept in custody to diffuse the potentially volatile situation."
After several hours, the Muslim returned to the police station with a "militant band of friends" and incited them to attack police by alleging the woman wasn't being punished after her "insult" to Muhammad.
At least six Christians were injured in the resulting riots that destroyed churches, homes, vehicles and shops, officials said.
The government ended up imposing a nighttime curfew and deploying soldiers in tanks and trucks to deter further mayhem, officials said.

Boy slave crucified by islamic master...
http://www.wnd.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=52181
Damare Garang was seven when the attack happened, officials said. He had been captured by Islamic soldiers when his Sudanese village was attacked, and then sold as a slave to a Muslim family in Tuobon, Bahr el Gazel.
His duties were to tend the master's camels, but one day one fled.
"How could you do this? You will surely have to pay! You stupid slave, I should just kill you now," he was told.
However, the child escaped any injuries at that point.
Then the following day Damare, who had been raised in a Christian family, sneaked away for a time to a small church service across the village.
His master was waiting when he returned.
"Where have you been?" he was asked, and partly from fear and partly from not having another answer, he said, "to church."
"You have made two grave mistakes," the slave master said. "Yesterday you lost one of my camels, and today you worship with infidels!"
The master went to a barn and returned with a large board, some rusty spikes and a hammer, the report said.
"Frozen in fear, Damare was dragged out to the edge of his master's compound where he was forced to the ground with his legs over the board," the VOM report said. "The savage brutality of the master was unleashed as he proceeded to drive the long nails through Damare's knees and then nail his feet securely onto the board."
While Damare was screaming in agony, the slave master simply walked away.
The boy's help arrived in the form of a Good Samaritan who happened by, and saw the small boy. The man sneaked into the compound and carried the boy to a hospital where the board and nails were removed.
Damare later was released to the custody of his helper, with whom he lived for the next 18 months.
Once again, then, there was a militia attack on his village, and he was separated from his protector. When the Islamic army soldiers were driven off, a commander of village forces recognized Damare's speech as being of the Dinka tribe, and took charge of him.

With kind of military accuracy, how are they winning? Well I guess if your fighting against stone throwers, you don't really need to hit anything, just run over them with your tank.

JERUSALEM POST
The Philippine government on Wednesday rejected a rebel group's demands to expand a Muslim autonomous region without holding a referendum, a senior official said.
Malaysian-brokered talks between the government and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front, the largest Muslim group fighting for self-rule in the southern Philippines, hit a snag early this month over the size of a southern Philippine region that would fall under Muslim control.
The MILF wants an existing Muslim autonomous region expanded without any constitutional conditions, such as a plebiscite.

Why is the Phillipine government negotiating at all? The cockroaches should be squashed immediately. NO Muslim entity in this country!
Is that what US and Phillipine troops died for in WW2-to allow the enemy of today to eventually take it over? The Japanese would have had an easy solution for this bunch had they won WW2.

UPI
A study by U.S. political scientists finds the 15 million Muslims residing in Europe don't pose a threat to European values or politics.
Researchers Carolyn Warner and Manfred Wenner of Arizona State University say they reached that conclusion given the extent of the European Muslims' myriad divisions and internal fragmentation.
But their conclusion contradicts analysts and policymakers who fear the impact of Muslims on European politics and policy, based on the assumption a Muslim bloc will soon emerge to dominate the foreign and domestic policies of European states if nothing is done to prevent it.
"Western fears and criticisms are partly based on serious ignorance of the characteristics of Islam and of the people in Europe who adhere to it," wrote Warner and Wenner, noting "Islam is a highly decentralized religion ... structurally biased against facilitating large scale collective action."
In addition, they say Muslims immigrants remain divided by ethnic differences, with religion failing to be the unifying focal point of Muslims in Western Europe.
The research appears in the September issue of the journal Perspectives on Politics.

All those massive riots around the world aren't organized?
As long as 'experts' like this keep putting out foolish reports like this the gov't will not stop muslim immigration.
The benefits/welfare/asylum payments need to stop. That will stop the muslims wanting to immigrate in large numbers.
ISLAMSFORLOSERS- They are geographically close to the largest muslim populated country in the world. They are getting the overflow. OF COURSE they want to expand their territory. What else is new.

Brussels Returns to Normal, for Now
From the desk of Paul Belien on Thu, 2006-09-28 06:12
Last night Brussels police arrested 53 youths, including 19 minors, in the Marollen neigbourhood. The area had seen heavy rioting the previous nights. Some of the arrested immigrants were carrying combustibles. One schack was set alight and one car was torched. The police said there were no serious incidents. Yesterday afternoon Freddy Thielemans, the Mayor of Brussels, told journalists at a press conference that of the 45 youths arrested the previous night 31 were known to the police for a total of 242 crimes. The Mayor emphasized that the riots were the work of youth gangs and cannot be compared to last year’s riots in France since there had been no direct confrontations between the police and the rioters.
Meanwhile, Belgian artists warn that a victory of the “islamophobic” Vlaams Belang [Flemish Interest] party in the local elections on October 8th may lead to violence. In an interview in the Dutch-language weekly Knack Magazine this week painter Luc Tuymans says: “In the worst case you will get organised resistance, perhaps even rather violent reactions. I suspect many shop keepers will have their windows smashed. People do not seem to be aware, but a vote for the Vlaams Belang may have serious consequences. They should realize this before they take a final decision in the voting booth.”
Tuymans is one the artists supporting the free 0110 concerts against the Vlaams Belang. The concerts are subsidized by the Belgian national lottery and are broadcasted on public radio and television. Another artist supporting 0110 is rock singer Arno, who said this week that Brussels is an example for the future of Europe, since it is “one of the only Arab cities which is not in a state of war.”
Last week, self-declared “anti-fascist” activists vandalised a car with Belgian licence plates in Amsterdam. They mistook the vehicle for the car of Vlaams Belang politician Filip Dewinter. The car, however, belonged to a French businesswoman based in Brussels. VB politicians are often the victims of acts of vandalism, including arson attempts. Yesterday the party announced that it has established a fund to reimburse local candidates whose properties gets damaged.

Death Threats in Brussels, France (Robert Redeker)
From the desk of Paul Belien on Fri, 2006-09-29 09:19
Yesterday the Belgian authorities decided to provide police protection for people working in the Brussels prisons of Vorst and Sint-Gillis. The decision was taken after two jailers, on their way to work, were attacked on a Brussels tram. Immigrant youths called them “assassins” and threatened them with knives. All the prison employees are now escorted by the police on their way to the car park or to the nearby train station.
According to the youths the jailers “murdered” Fayçal Chabaan, a 25-year old Moroccan criminal, who was an inmate in Vorst Prison. Chabaan died last Sunday after having been given a sedative. Sunday was the first day of the Islamic holy month of ramadan when Muslims are only allowed to eat after sunset. Moroccan youths claim Chabaan was holding his ramadan fast and had complained about the food of the evening meal. The situation in the Brussels prisons is tense, with many Muslim inmates blaming the prison authorities for Chabaan’s death.
Yesterday evening a dustbin was set alight by immigrant youths in the Brussels Marollen neighbourhood, but according to the police the situation was calm and no arrests were made. Representatives of Moroccan organisations met with Brussels politicians and complained about the lack of subsidies for youth projects.
Meanwhile in France, a philosophy teacher is under police protection after receiving death threats over an op-ed article [French text here] which he wrote in a national newspaper. In the article, which was published in the conservative daily Le Figaro of September 19th, Robert Redeker accused Islam of “exalting violence.” Mr Redeker has not attended classes at his school near Toulouse since the article was published. Pierre Rousselin, the editor in chief of Le Figaro, apologized on Al-jazeera for the publication of the article. A number of Islamic countries, including Egypt, banned Le Figaro following the publication of Redeker’s piece. Mr Rousselin said the publication of the op-ed was a mistake. He said the article did not express the paper’s opinion. The article is no longer available on the Figaro website.
Mr Redeker has written a letter to his friend, the philosopher André Glucksmann, describing his ordeal [French text here]:
“I am now in a catastrophic personal situation. Several death threats have been sent to me, and I have been sentenced to death by organizations of the al-Qaeda movement. [...] On the websites condemning me to death there is a map showing how to get to my house to kill me, they have my photo, the places where I work, the telephone numbers, and the death fatwa. [...] There is no safe place for me, I have to beg, two evenings here, two evenings there. [...] I am under the constant protection of the police. I must cancel all scheduled conferences. And the authorities urge me to keep moving. [...] All costs are at my own expense, including those of rents a month or two ahead, the costs of moving twice, legal expenses, etc.
It's quite sad. I exercised my constitutional rights, and I am punished for it, even in the territory of the Republic. This affair is also an attack against national sovereignty – foreign rules, decided by criminally minded fanatics, punish me for having exercised a constitutional right, and I am subjected, even in France, to great injury.”

Did you catch that?

Thanks, Borg. Every one of those is a very good posting. I'll restrict myself to responding to one.
Researchers Carolyn Warner and Manfred Wenner of Arizona State University said
Western fears and criticisms are partly based on serious ignorance of the characteristics of Islam and of the people in Europe who adhere to it [...] Islam is a highly decentralized religion ... structurally biased against facilitating large scale collective action.
Truly stunning bit of academia. Do they just sit in their office and make this stuff up out of whole cloth? The West is ignorant about Islam, which is why the "Religion of Peace" canard is still used. The ignorance is not the cause of Western fear, rather it is our security blanket that we clutch as we watch the nightly news, with the fires of Islamic violence burning in Darfur, Iraq, Indonesia, Iran, Thailand, Syria, "Palestine", Lebanon, etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. We rock back and forth chanting "This [latest attack] has nothing to do with terrorism. Islam is the Religion of Peace. There is no pattern here. Everything is going to be just fine".
As for being "highly decentralized", Islam has a lone Caliph who controls the ummah. Thank G*d it was recently (historically speaking) abolished by the Ottomans, but the title has been declared several times in the past year or two. Islam, like no other religion, segments humanity into Believers and Infidels. They may have internal differences (translation: they may constantly and eternally murder each other over trivial points of religious dogma), but they have the ability to set these differences aside and work together to murder the Infidels. Unlike what our leaders tell us, it is not just Wahabbism that mandates violence against Infidels, it is every major jurisprudential school of Islam. They agree at least on this one thing, that Islamic shariah must be the law of the land in every nation of the world, and violence is sanctioned to achieve that goal.
Maybe these two "Islamic experts" can get a senior advisory position in the Administration, sounds like they would be a good fit. Then again, that field seems pretty crowded.

"Islam is a highly decentralized religion ... structurally biased against facilitating large scale collective action."
So said a couple of researchers, huh? If this is true then how did Islam ever make it past the Arabian peninsula? Time for these researchers to build a time machine and travel to Constantinople in 1453 to find out how true this idea really is.

All those supposedly non-aligned that have unanimously condemned America for fighting its war on terrorism can rejoice in this article-THIS SITUATION IN SOMALIA IS THE RESULT OF UNINTERRUPTED ISLAMIC JIHAD WARFARE. America was blocked from stopping terrorism here! Isn't that great!!Somebody stopped America!!!! It's about time!!!
We hope the non-aligned nations of the world enjoy the sight of unrestrained repression in this hell hole. Because this is what their future looks like without resistance to jihad. This may very well be the future of the planet. SO all you unaligned nations out there had BETTER LIKE IT. Because that is what's coming down the pipe if somebody doesn't stand up to it fast.
But, hey!! In these countries' view it's gotta be better than America, right!!!! Hee hee heee heee!

Making trains run on time was one of the rare achievements of the Fascists. However, I wouldn't give the Mohammedans too much credit by allowing for them the same work efficiency, except when it comes to slaughtering Infidels.
