So if the ACLU here in the USA can sue over all sorts of frivolous things in order to influence government action - WHY CAN'T WE??!!! What would it take to form an American Common Sense Union [ACSU] or similar - staffed with PATRIOTIC Lawyers who have Common Sense besides brilliant legals minds.. WORKING for the COMMON GOOD?!

The Government is derelict in its duty to safeguard its citizens here in the USA and in Europe it's even worse!

The thing that gets me about a silly girl like this one is that instead of being greatful for being born in a country like England, she chooses to plot against its good citizens in the name of some strange cult for which she probably doesn't understand anyway.

This is rather of topic but........
I am sometimes concerned about the standards of justice applied to Muslims.
So this young woman is to be charged with "failing to disclose information."
Well there are a lot of people who fall into that category without having to face criminal charges.
An obvious example - how about Christian Bishops who failed to report to the police the activities of Christian priests who were practicing child rape?
If the West wishes to act with any authority on these matters perhaps they should apply the same standards of justice to themselves?

Sorry about mistakenly saying that the woman had been named as had same surname as conspirator. It must have been some garbled memory from the time of the arrests - they seemed to pick up an awful lot of people at the time.
Perhaps the west should cover itself against tu quoque charges by equating child molesting with religiously inspired, indiscriminate mass murder but at least these things get out in the end. I shudder to think what goes on in those Pakistani madrassas.

It's interesting to me that so many of the most recent jihadists come from Somalia. Of all majority-Muslim countries, Somalia is one of the sickest of the sickest. Read Betty Balsam's The Veil of Terror to learn more than you probably wanted to know about the sad and short lives of girls and women in a country where almost all young girls are genitally mutilated and infibulated in early childhood and where young newlywed grooms (so Balsam claims) celebrate their nuptials by first viciously beating their wives (who, one would hazard to guess, did not choose to marry them) and then cutting them open with a knife and repeatedly raping them, all while members of the wedding party cheer him on in the next room. So one shouldn't wonder why such damaged children are importing their social pathologies to the West.

It's not Islam alone that's to blame for a sick culture. Female genital mutilation isn't mentioned anywhere in the Koran, and in fact most Islamic countries don't practice it at all. It was practiced in North Africa long before Islam. But it's true that all countries that practice it now are Muslim, so clearly the religion has failed to stop destructive behaviours. If anything, it's used to legitimize them. Muslims from non-mutilating cultures are deafeningly silent on the whole issue, with a few courageous exceptions.

It's a testament to extreme naivete that the West believed that by opening their doors to the people fleeing these festering wastelands, they would erase all the cancerous elements of those cultures. It doesn't work that way. We need to either close the doors on immigration from these places or aggressively transform them not through war but through colonization, a practice that has long lost its legitimacy. But I can't see any other way.

Yes the BBC reported some years ago there are 3000 cases of genital mutilation a year in Britain, mainly in the "Somali community" . Doctors have been told to deal with them "sympathetically”.

Contrast this with an experienced Headmaster told me that today he dare not put his arm round a crying child and Scout leaders who must ask the childs permission before they touch a Scout with, say, a twisted ankle.
