Remember when the Saudis were claiming that they had removed all the "extremist preachers" from Saudi mosques? So do I. Friend and Ally Update: "US embassy attack 'was planned in Saudi Arabia,'" from Reuters, with thanks to Sr. Soph:
Damascus: Last month's attack on the US embassy in Damascus was planned in Saudi Arabia and the four Syrians who carried it out had no links to Al Qaida, a government investigation said yesterday.Three of the four assailants, 31-year-old Abdul Raouf Saleh, Bilal Saleh, 25, and Samir Saleh, also 25, were close relatives who followed the teachings of a preacher in Saudi Arabia where they had worked, the Interior Ministry report said.
They started preparing for the operation in 2004, according to the report.
"An investigation into the attack has been concluded. The group planned to blow an embassy door, storm the compound and kill whoever was inside. It had no links with extremist organisations outside Syria," the report said.
"They attended lessons by a Saudi man of religion. Their extremism deepened due to the political situation shaking the region and US bias toward Israel."
The report said the group 'had planned to broadcast a video statement after the operation in the name of the Abu Musab Zarqawi Brigade, although they had no link to Al Qaida'.

To Gramfan, Chevalier de st george and others
Glad to see you are spreading the word on “Obsession”
Tell people that this is perhaps the most important hour of film-watching they may ever do in their lives.
That is certainly how I felt watching it.
The film is available in it’s entirety here.
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-692071627799119020&q=obsession+islam
It is just as important as “An inconvenient truth.”
You will need broadband to watch this.
If it OK with the moderators I will occasionally re-post the link.
That is as long as Google does not censor the film.
(Why cannot some rich person buy up Google and stop them censoring anti-jihad videos?)
Can anyone tell me why, if people are watching this film the counter never updates?
On my computer the website says 2030 views, 681 yesterday, originally posted 29th September 2006.
Why does it never change?
Incidentally it would be great if JihadWatch contained a counter so that we know how many people are visiting the site.
It would also be good if the counter broke down the visitors by country.
I am convinced that this message is getting through to some people i.e. the Americans but not to others i.e. the British.
For instance, look at the sales ranking of Robert Spencer’s new book “The truth about Muhammad.”
On Amazon.com, the American Website, the sales ranking is 107th.
On Amazon.co.uk, the British Website, the sales ranking is 5,322th !
Also I was disturbed to find that Robert Spencer’s books are not available on the French Amazon website. They have not been translated!
The website www.faithfreedom.org/ has a deliberate policy of offering it’s writings in a number of languages, including French and Arabic.
If JihadWatch is going to reach the four corners of the globe surely it must do the same!
Last thoughts.
It has been estimated that 49% of British people never read a book.
In the USA the figure is approximately the same.
Most people in the West will probably never read a book by Robert Spencer which is why the medium of a film is so important.
I see from the “Obsession” website that there will be director’s cut edition. The director actually admitted that they cut out some of the stronger scenes. I will have to buy that.

"Islam: What the West needs to know”.
“In Europe the truth is so terrible that we are in
denial. Perhaps it is understandable. We simply do not wish to face the
fact that we really are threatened by a vast fifth column - that there
are thousands of European born people, in Britain, in France, in
Holland, in Denmark - everywhere - who wish to destroy us. They are
part of a wider war, what Tony Blair rightly calls an "arc of extremism"
- Islamist extremism. “
-William Shawcross
The entire video of “Islam: What the West needs to know” is currently available on Google

Odyessus:
I dont know if Amazon's pre-ordered books count as sales, but I have been notified that my copy of The truth about Muhammad will not arrive until January!
I am from the UK by the way.
As for reading books, where on earth do these figures come from? Many people borrow books from Public Libraries or from each other.Others are given to Hospitals where it would be impossible to know how often they are read.
For myself, I buy around five or six books per month. I cant afford more on a pension. Some of these become friends from whom I cannot part, whilst others are given to friends so that they may enjoy them or learn something from them.
Many books are read by different people, which means that the percentages given just dont add up!

As long as the Saudi royal house keeps its "mandate from heaven" via the Wahabbi neanderthals it will be impossible to call Saudi Arabia an ally. The USSR was a far better ally during WW2 than this country is in the fight against Islamania.
Islam Bad.
Wahabbism worst.

americanmadestrat;
I would retune that Strat to Ef, and say that ISLAM is the enemy.
It matters not where they live, or were born. If the enemy is to be truly seen, that which follows islam must be the focus.
Not all who live in the M.E. or S.A. are the trouble.
Also;
"They are part of a wider war, what Tony Blair rightly calls an "arc of extremism"
- Islamist extremism. “

I don't like the term "extremism", as it misleads. Islam at it's core is extreme,from say our point of view, but the followers that do the jihad are not.
With islam, it is the fun-da-ment-als that will kill us.

@Stencit,
I too preordered the Robert's book, and it was delivered a week ago. (I am in the UK as well.)
Bad luck for you, probably they need to reorder.

I dont care for the word 'extreem' either. When it comes to Islam I prefer the word 'deviant'. The only difference between non-combat muslims and jihadists, is that the deviant jihadists are more physically engaged than the non-combat muslim deviants. The common denominator is that they are all deviates for Allah. They get their ambitions and directions from Allahs Book of Great Deviations, the Quran. If you want to become a first class deviant, read the Quran...then convert. Highly deviant muslims can even achieve the status of suicide bomber. Oh the glory of Allahs deviations. There simply cannot be a greater deviant in all the universe other than Allah.(SWT, PBUH or whatever)

Excellent Video. I just finished watching it and forwarded to a friend of mine. I was glad to see that they didn't paint all Muslims as being terrorists, but neither did they shy away from a blunt assesment of the current situation.
Peace.

To Monkeywho

Well these are based on figures I read over ten years ago.
Perhaps education has improved since then.
And even among the educated there is a huge culture of PC twaddle which insists that the source of all the world’s problems is George Bush, that Islam is a religion of peace etc, etc.
Obsession ought to have won an oscar from Hollywood for best documentary.
If it had millions of people would have gone to see it instead of the handful who probably have.
Instead Hollywood is addicted to self-congratulation as a basis for social policy as Thomas Sowell would put it.
Are you aware that during the nineteen-fifties, while the McCarthyite “Whitchhunts” were going on, an estimated 30 million people died in China during to the Communist “Great leap forward.” To Hollywood, the greatest tragedy in the world at this time was…….a few people in Hollywood being made redundant!
Why does Hollywood still go on about this. Why does it not mention Theo Van Gogh, a film maker murdered for work?
Film is the medium which reaches the greatest number of people so it is a vital part of getting out the truth.
To all those who go the Obsession Google website and find that the video is unavailable I say this.
This has never happened to me.
Should you change your internet server provider?

duh_swami;
Sorry, don't care for that, as it also describes the moderate as well.
How screwed up can it get, when those who follow the koran are called extreme, and the "moderates" we keep wishing for, are the true extreme with islam. 180 degrees reversed.
That point of view thing.

Islofob IS-1, I am aware it is all of pislam that is the enemy, but we know the sauds are the main financiers. Yet we still do business with them.

americanmadestrat;
Yes, we do continue to fund the sauds. Bush, his father, and many before in the goverment have supported them, this will probally continue as it goes, for now.
I do see a shift however, many more are comming to see that funding islam has little value to the western world.
The U.S. should tap every, and I mean all, sources of energy we have, harness the ones yet to be fully put to use, and remove the funding of M.E oil from the table.
It is comming, and will be interesting to see what the world looks like when that day arrives. I look forward to seeing it.

Islofob IS-1, I agree, plus we should add Venezuala to that list. From what I hear, there are quite alot of hezbulah(sp?) to our south.
