I agree that they have the right to "poke fun at Muhammad, Jesus or Bill Clinton", and that it is extremely important that we defend this freedom. Any attempt to abridge it to accomodate anyone's religious or political viewpoint is a surrender.

This hypersensitivity to insult looks to me like a profound insecurity. Orthodox Muslims claim that Allah is the creator and sustainer of the universe. Such a being is presumably capable of protecting his own good name. In the New Testament, there is a place where it says "do not take vengeance, but leave room for the wrath of God. 'Justice is mine, I will repay, says the LORD.' " And I think that it is accurate to say that the churches through time have not responded to heresy or blasphemy with the kind or quantity of violence that seems to be the norm in Islam (which is not to exculpate the churches; their history is quite depressing on its own terms).

So I wonder at the roots of this hypersensitivity. It is rooted in ancient Arab conceptions of 'honor'? Robert? Hugh?

In the koran, it states the followers of islam make no difference to any of islam's prophets, but that is a flat lie, show where they get enraged over Jesus being mocked.

Islam has to free the funny bone. Its not about Mohmd; really, mock islam's religion, or leaders (Jesus excluded) and they will get the same threats, and thats what this is.

Apropos the hypersensitivity....I would say it stems from the emperor's new clothes syndrome the Islamic umma is caught up in. They are not entirely 'convinced of their own rectitude' and are dimly aware that their belief system is a house of cards built on a tissue of lies and superstition fabricated by a madman and murderous opportunist, who suffered from a huge inferiority complex and passed that on to all his followers, resulting in a mass insecurity. Hence this hypersensitivity to criticism. They know deep down it's a fraud and a scam and can't let go, clinging on to their conviction for dear life. They are slaves of the sacrosanct. Otherwise known as mass hysteria.

There are some interesting implications of this new "outrage": the video was shot during a party convention on August 5th, i.e. at a private arrangement, and most likely not for public consumption. It was then used as the leading story in the first issue of a new, free ad/news rag with journalist David Trads as the editor. A few years ago Trads published a book about the Danish People's Party, in which he argued that far from being a harmless populist party, they are in fact far right. Someone most likely leaked the video with the specific purpose of smearing the DPP, although their youth chapter is known for being somewhat unruly and not toeing the main party line.

The crucial aspect of this case, if it does become one, is whether the Muslim Brotherhood consider the event shown in the video, or the distribution of it on the web, as the offense. If even ridiculing Mo under private circumstances is now seen as a transgression, surely the tentacles of Islam have drawn closer than ever before. One must then assume that even ridiculing Mo in your own private home is now considered forbidden, even in non-Muslim countries. If, on the other hand, they are insulted by the distribution of the video on the web, can the dhimmi David Trads now expect a fatwa and a demand for an apology?

I cannot express adequately my own disdain for the false prophet Mohammed who sold his soul to a certain angel in order to gain so much power.

He could never be described as the most perfect human being to have lived. There is only One who is Perfect, and that is Jesus Christ.

My disgust regarding Mohammed is growing daily. I feel absolute revulsion towards this most disgusting and degrading man is only short of being the worst, since that title belongs to Judas Iscariot, the God-Killer. What has caused this revulsion is learning more about what he did to Ayesha.

Whilst I knew that he had "married" Ayesha when she was 6 years old, I also knew that he had not penetrated her until the age of 9. This is disgusting because the child was still below the age of puberty at 9 years old. What is more disgusting is the knowledge that this so called paragon of virtue had "thighed" Ayesha from the age of 6. To thigh a child means that he places his penis between her thighs. In anyone's language that is child molestation. He robbed a child of her innocence because of his own perverted desires towards the female species.

What kind of woman was Ayesha's mother that she willingly gave her daughter up to be molested in this way? What about all those women in Islam who seem to be oblivious that there is something wrong in treating a child in this way.

The false prophet Mohammed (may he rot in hell) is the worst form of scumbag. His crimes included the slaughter of thousands of innocent men and women, the enslavement of young boys and girls, the rape of women who were allowed to live, the mutiliation of the genitals of women for his own sexual desires. He did not bring peace to the world. His legacy has been war and misery.

The followers of Islam, especially those who have been foolish enough to convert to Islam need to be shown that what Mohammed offered was not Scriptural Truth.

No matter the imperfections of Jews and Christians alike, we were shown the way to Perfection, which is a way of real peace, justice and righteousness. This cannot happen under Islam because its founder was a sexual pervert of the worst kind.

Manuel II Paleogos was correct when he said that there is nothing good to come out of Islam. They even attempt to steal glory for things discovered by the Greeks who existed well before Islam ever existed, and the same for the Indians and the Chinese. All of these great nations were responsible for many of our early scientific advances, not Islam. This form of theft is just another reason to reject everything related to this false prophet who follows an angel of Death, not of Light.
