Iran Embassy protests to Danish government over Cartoon Rage II

Another international outpouring of irrational rage and violence will be forthcoming, if Iran has anything to do about it. "Iran Embassy protests to Danish Gov't for repetition of anti-Islam sacrilege," from IRNA, with thanks to Sr. Soph:

Iranian Embassy in Copenhagen, Denmark, on Sunday strongly protested to the Danish government for screening blasphemous video clips against Islam and Prophet Mohammad (PBUH).

"It is regrettable that on the anniversary of publishing anti-Islam blasphemous cartoons by Jyllands-Posten daily of Denmark in September last year and subsequent worldwide protests in which several innocent people died in clash with national police forces, certain political parties in Denmark repeated the same stupid practice of sacrilege," the Embassy said in a statement.

"Denmark national TV2 Channel broadcast video clips last Friday showing young members of Danish People's Party mocking the holy prophet during a summer party," said part of the statement.

"It is deplorable that the extremist elements in the Danish society have attempted to sabotage Denmark's relations with the Islamic countries once again," Iranian Embassy said.

"Absence of distinctive action on the part of the Danish government to stop the sacrilege against other religions which is being perpetrated by the Danish media in the name of freedom of expression, has been the cause of repetition of such stupid practices," said the statement.

In other words, the Danish government better adopt Islamic rules for dealing with Muhammad and Islam -- or else.

Does anyone remember when this was considered aggressive and outrageous meddling in the internal affairs of another country?

These are not official statements by government agencies or army officers or elected officials these are young people IN Denmark.

Have we forgotten how to say... what was the expression Oriana Fallaci used... Oh yes "GO F-CK YOURSELF.

I hope the Danes choose to make the showing of such clips and cartoons an annual event.

If Iran doesn't like this why don't they close their embassy in Denmark? Maybe then it won't egg on protests within the country. Plus there would be no reason for any Iranians to be in the country to serve as a convenient cover for terrorists.

Danish PM, Iran president condemn Prophet cartoons By Kim McLaughlin
Sun Oct 8, 3:48 PM ET

COPENHAGEN (Reuters) - Danish Prime Minister Anders Fogh Rasmussen denounced members of the anti-immigrant Danish Peoples' Party (DPP) youth wing on Sunday for drawing humiliating cartoons of the Prophet Mohammad.

In Tehran, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said those who insulted the Prophet were "low life" devoid of human values, the student news agency ISNA reported.

The two leaders' condemnations followed Danish state TV's airing on Friday of amateur video footage showing members of the DPP youth wing at a summer camp in August, drinking, singing and taking part in a competition to draw images mocking the Prophet.

"I strongly condemn the behavior of members of the youth wing of the Danish Peoples' Party," Rasmussen told Ritzau news agency.

"It is unacceptable behavior by a small group of young people. Their tasteless behavior in no way represents the way the Danish people or young Danish people view Muslims or Islam," Rasmussen said.

Most Muslims regard depiction of the Prophet as offensive.

Ahmadinejad, referring to the cartoons shown on Danish television, told a cabinet meeting "Those who make these insults are low life, lost, without human values...," ISNA said.

"Such measures reveal the depth of weakness and failure of the leaders of liberalism," Ahmadinejad was quoted as saying.

Just over a year ago the Danish daily Jyllands-Posten published cartoons of the Prophet Mohammad, including one showing him with a bomb in his turban. Muslim clerics denounced them as blasphemous, sparking protests in which more than 50 people died in Asia, Africa and the Middle East.

Rasmussen tried then to assuage Muslim anger but said the Danish nation could not be held responsible for what was published by independent media. Angry Muslims demonstrated and boycotted Danish goods in several countries in the Middle East.

On Saturday, Muslim leaders in Denmark condemned the video footage but said they would not be provoked into taking action.

Last year, a number of Danish imams traveled to Egypt and Lebanon to rally support among Muslim leaders for protests against the Jyllands-Posten cartoons.

Other parties' youth wings criticized the DPP and said they would refuse to attend any political events where DPP members were present.

Senior DPP members refused to apologize and party leader Pia Kjaersgaard criticized media for airing the footage of what she called a private party.

The DPP rose to prominence when it campaigned for the 2001 election on a strongly anti-immigrant platform combined with calls for higher welfare spending. It has been accused of racism but is a political ally of Rasmussen's center-right coalition

While the rest of the world is figuring out how to cure AIDS, colonize Mars and build quantum computers, the Muslim world is busy obsessing over a bunch of people drawing pictures in Denmark. Again.

If our governments had any balls whatsoever, they'd simply tell the unwashed Muslim masses that freedom of speech is a cultural feature of ours, and that they should respect our culture.

You know, it's strange that they can execute rape victims and homosexuals while honor killing their own families, and it'll barely register over here, but all we have to do is draw pictures or talk about a 15th century emperor, and suddenly the entire Muslim world explodes into an incoherent and violent tantrum. Obviously they have the superior culture and we should bow down.

Re: Cleric advocating separation of religion and politics arrested in Iran & Iran Embassy protests to Danish government over Cartoon Rage II

It's an old tactic of repressive regimes to direct rage against it to an outside entity. This was standard with the Nazis, Mao and the USSR. All claimed some foreign bogyman was a danger to the regime and whipped-up hate against the bogyman. There maybe something rotten in Iran and the regime needs a bogyman to divert people's attention.

In the years ahead, perhaps not far ahead, many people are going to wonder how anyone took this silliness seriously. Why does anyone have to treat a belief-system as if it is fact? If the Muslims claimed that they believed Mr.Softee spoke to the angel Gabriel in a cave some years ago and told Mr. Softee that "there is no god, but Mr. god and Mr.Softee is his prophet" we would all laugh at such nonsense as we watched the believers get on their prayer rugs and bow toward Las Vegas. We would laugh when we were told by the Muslims that we are forbidden to depict Mr. Softee, that such depiction is blasphemy.

The cowardly collaboration with this farce, taken seriously because it is called "religion", tells us that we have not gone far from the superstitious world of the middle ages. Why must anyone submit to this abandonment of reason?, this mental illness, because it is called "religion"?, be respectful of clerics wearing an "religious" costume with a costume hat to denote special status? It's a great big humbug. It's time to stop treating belief-systems as if they are fact, or calling people bigots because they will not treat a belief as a fact.

Why does anyone have to treat a belief-system as if it is fact?

The reason is that the moral fabric of the original adopters, the Arabs, the Companions, was threadbare.

Then, when petroleum was discovered beneath their thieving dead asses (by blue eyed Christians) they realized that they weren't living a self-delusional organized crime scam but were in fact an actual religion... in the Fictive Reality sense, at least.

610 * 623 * 732 * 1066 * 1215 * 1453 * 1492 * 1683 * 1928 * 1938 * 1948 * 1996 * 2001

... and build quantum computers, the Muslim world is busy obsessing...

We were slated to be on 128 byte word chipsets by now. But, when Intel flopped in the mid-1990s, about the time of the original WTC bombing, that massive engineering failure computed to this massive political failure we now experience.

Pick out the two mistakes in this term:

Islam is a religion of peace.

When the Muslims start burning down buildings and killing people it will be another chance for the west to stand up and show some courage, what are the chances?.

Not to good if you go by recent events.

Let the riots begin. More, more, more. And let the pope honor the anniversary of his impressive lecture with a reprise. I bet Rasmussen, when he takes off his damage-control hat, feels the same.

What might have happened if, in the 1920's, Hitler had been put into a mental institution for observation by the German government?

Many of these Muslim clerics should be treated as being mentally ill. No one would tolerate this mental illness if it were not called "religion". Demanding that people not depict or make fun of a guy who claims to have taken dictation from God via an angel, who claimed God told him to kill people who did not submit to a belief-system, deserves to be laughed at as he and his followers are placed under psychatric observation.

We bow to Disneyland by taking this farce seriously.Ahmadnejad should be viewed as a Micky Mouse at Disneyland, and the Muslim clerics in Denmark should be put in a mental hospital, there to await the coming of the Marty.

"No one would tolerate this mental illness if it were not called 'religion'."
Posted above.

Oh, now. That's not really true. Almost all of the real prophets and apostles were killed by those to whom they were sent.

But Mohammed wasn't.

That's because he didn't confront and condemn the sin in the people to whom he was "sent". No, he validated and justified their sin. Helped them enjoy it.

That's why his followers "tolerate" it.

The real question is why do WE tolerate it (the clerics' mental illness)? Because it's a religion? Hardly. Please refer to Hugh's "Rhyming Esdrujulas with Feminine Endings".

Europeans like people with sense of humor. If the Muslims would know how to laugh and not take life so seriously, Europe would think of Islam as one of the "great religions".
But Islam is increasingly proving that it is just a kind of violent, irritable, self-seeking and disconsiderate ideology.

I hope the Muslims finally understand that Europe is fed up with Islamic hysteria.

I hate to see Rasmussen make these lukewarm apologies. (Like the Pope) Of course he is concerned about Danish embassies and Danish travellers in Islamic countries, and trade (cookies & milk-products etc.) but he knows also that freedom of expression is non-negotiable. His apologies have to end there....

However, I have not forgotten how the slimy BJ Clinton (after the first cartoon riots) went on a speaking tour in the ME and was paid $ 300.000.00 to denounce freedom of expression, 'the cartoons shouldn't have been published..." in contempt of his very own constitution which he has sworn to uphold...

A couple of other turkeys (Bob Dole) followed right in his tracks, the ex-KKK member David Duke also had to cash in on it, among others.

It seems when it comes to selling out the west and our values the Americans are right in front with the Zapatero's and the Straw's of Europe....

Horrible times indeed, confusion reigns!

This is what we call a perfect expression of quintessence. Going back to when he orignally shit his filthy pants in an epiliptic seizure, the above statement sums the whole mess up.

So, let them worry about cartoons, and videos.

I don't like Rasmussens 'regrets' either, but they are a natural consequence of a lack of understanding of Islam and what it wants with the western world.

I think the main problem is that the policies of the western governments is a REACTIVE one in stead of an ACTIVE one. We simply leave the initiative to the muslims instead of doing something ourselves. Rasmussens comments can be seen as a (rather vague) defence of free speech, wrapped in the usual soft words and semi-apologies. So it looks like he's not giving in (to SOME Danes, not me!), whereas he in fact is giving in(in the eyes of muslims), by not clearly telling the iranians to showe their apology where the sun doesn't shine. It's kind of a diplomatic balancing act, that I think would be understandable, perhaps even laudable, had this particular issue not been so dangerous.

Peopel in the western world don't understand Islam's eternal craving for expansion and how important it is for them to see non-muslims show visible signs of submission.

In Tehran, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said those who insulted the Prophet were "low life" devoid of human values,
My gosh this is the pot calling the kettle black... Iranian Muslims torture, rape, slaughter and destroy anything in their paths they kill babies and children and they talk about human values, come on...does this man think we are blind and stupid,, we see the non-stop muslim world wide violence..

I think the muslims may be right. I too deplore depictions of Muhammed. In fact every time I see one I want to pelt it with rotten tomatoes or tear it to shreds.
