ATLANTA (Reuters) - A U.S. citizen has pleaded guilty in a federal court to providing material support to the militant Palestinian group Hamas, the U.S. Justice Department said on Friday.Mohamed Shorbagi, 42, of Rome, Georgia, was charged in August with providing material support to a foreign terrorist organization, a charge that carries a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison.
"Shorbagi provided the support through donations to the Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development knowing that some or all of the money was in fact destined for Hamas," a Justice Department statement said.
The Islamic group, which operates primarily in the West Bank and Gaza, won parliamentary elections in the Palestinian territories in January. The United States designated it a foreign terrorist organization in 1997.
"This case illustrates that people who illegally support foreign terrorist organizations may be found anywhere in the United States, even in quiet and pleasant places like Rome, Georgia," said U.S. Attorney David E. Nahmias in a statement.

CAIR has also promoted and facilitated donations to the Holy Land Foundation (as detailed in above link). Why is CAIR still in operation? Ibrahim Hooper and his associates should be rotting in prison under the same law that applied to Shorbagi. The world would be better off if it was "CAIRless".

Why was Mohamed Shorbagi allowed to settle in the US in the first place? This is the type of question we should be asking.

Nahmias (of the US attorneys Office) said Shorbagi is a citizen of the Palestinian territory but is in the United States legally.

O.T., but maybe not so much.
Question: Who was the Queen of Iran and Iraq (Persia) who was JEWISH and in her day saved the whole Jewish race? It was the little Jewish orphan girl named Hadassah who became Queen Esther. The Jewish festival of Purim remembers and honors her act of great courage.
