Another pretext is fabricated to stir up rage among Muslims, thereby increasing jihad recruitment tallies. From Reuters, with thanks to Jeffrey Imm:
SPIN BOLDAK, Afghanistan - The Taleban accused NATO forces of genocide on Friday after the latest in a series of civilian combat deaths, and said they would step up already rising suicide attacks. The strict Islamist group’s one-legged military commander, Mullah Dadullah, also denied NATO charges the guerrillas used villagers as human shields in combat against foreign forces.
The warning came as a a provincial official said a bomb had killed at least 14 civilians in the rugged southern province of Uruzgan on Friday.
‘We want to inform the foreign forces and their slaves that their defeat is inevitable in Afghanistan,’ Dadullah told Reuters by satellite phone from a secret location.
‘The Taleban’s mujahideen are ready to fight until death and in the coming days will increase their activities and suicide attacks to such an extent that the infidel forces will not get a chance to rest.
‘The Taleban will not let the the killers of Afghan women and children rest in peace and will continue to target them.’

Genocide? You really can tell that these crazies have no clue about reality when they start making such claims. Had the West wanted to engage in genocide Afghanistan would be barren of any life by now. The fact that Dadoodoo is still around making such laughable claims proves that what he says is indeed doodoo.

You're absolutely right Zena. muslim males ARE jealous that someone else beats them to the kill.
How else do they get that "feel good feeling"?

I hate it how words are constantly redefined to suit someone's agenda. Genocide = kill the human shields of the Taleban. Racism = demand more restrictive immigration or criticise Islam. Tolerance = apartheid. Apartheid = lack of tolerance.

Here we have "Taleban" in the title. Below is another article with "Taliban" in the title.
Which should it be? "I" before "E"? Or "E" before "I"? Shouldn't it be ours to reason why?
Or is the felt need here for orthoepic sameness merely a matter of reaching irritably for foolish consistency, which might be explained as a subliminal need, on October 27, to get into the holiday mood, and to summon up, four days early, that hobgoblin of little minds?

Yeap, they do that. All these muslims and far-left anarchists are trying to manipulate the public opinion with distorting the meaning of words. Their basic methods are verbal attacks and continues and untrue accusations. The political speech of the left-wing bastards is the same as the religious speech of the mullahs of the Islamic. Full of accusations, unprovoked attacks, propaganda of Nazi-Stalinic type and hatred against what the Western Civilization stands for. All a big plot against the most advanced human civilization.

Re Taleban vs Taliban
My preference is for Taleban. It seems to suggest a prophylaxis for the prevention of taqqiyah: "Tale Ban: Helping to make those implausible accusations of genocide a thing of the past. Ask your doctor."

What's in a word --tally up the ban, or ban the tallies- what the heck since the word cannot be found in the Funkenwagler, or the Webster.
-- Any provocation concocted will do as long as we have someone to fight so that we can die and go off to our heaven that awaits us.
" Oh Allah has promised if we fight the infidels and fight them well to the death". But most of all we need an enemy so that we can try to walk in the image of our great warrior prophet Muhammed so that we will be martrys, and shaheeds to the rest of our brothers in the umma.
After all life really sucks out here on this 10th century desert we have created in the name of allah.

This is called 'word magic, or 'word trickery'. They are designed to 'trick' the audience into a particular mind set. If the tricksters idea had any merit, he would not use tricks. Every statement, speech, article or sermon I ever heard comming from a muslim, is chuck full of 'word magic'. Taqiyya/kitman only exist because Islam must defend, not just one absurdity, but many of them. The politically bent in the west use this also...it's called political correctness, or PC. Eiter way we are being lied to and tricked. The way to get over being tricked is to get over being tricked.
Most of the posters here have done that...

Same Old, Same Old...
I can well imagine this is the exact same, old, tired Modus Operandi Muslims used from 600AD onward to justify their insatiable thirst for blood.
"We were driven out of here or there so we have every right to avenge the evil crusaders."
I can imagine that 100 years from now Muslims will be talking about the unjust invasion and occupation of Afghanistan that killed so many peaceful brothers and sisters of the Islamic faith.
Who can blame them. It appears to be working in our PC environment.
Same Old, Same Old...

Sorry but I couldn't resist one more comment:
From the article and the Taliban:
"...latest in a series of civilian combat deaths, and said they would step up already rising suicide attacks..."
How then do they reconcile their own suicide attacks which kill Afghan Muslims indiscriminately? Perhaps the Taliban view these dead Muslims as martyrs that died by their hands.
Hypocrisy at its finest.
Not one argument or doctrine made by a Muslim for Islam can withstand critical analysis. Not one.

‘The Taleban will not let the the killers of Afghan women and children rest in peace and will continue to target them.’
Hmmm. Given that the multi-national are, when they aren't fending off attacks by the Taliban, engaged in nation-building, and the attacks on Afghan civilians have been perpetrated by the Taliban, either intentionally for crimes like girls being allowed to attend school, or merely as collateral damage, does this then mean that the "Taleban" will start targetting themselves?

Militant Islamic groups have slaughtered untold millions of innocent non-Islamic civilians over the centuries; genocide has never inany way deterred Muslim people from continuing their quest for global domination.
Unless of course it happened to have been genocide perpetrated against THEM. Moreover, if Islamic accusations in this case had any grounds I STILL wouldn't lose any sleep over them. But since they don't, I'll go celebrate that NATO is successfully going to get them apes!
NATO: GO GET THEM APES!!!!

re: my comment about "nation building", I was not being sarcastic. This is what is sooo painful to me about the various moonbat Canadian politicos demanding that our troops be brought home because they are not being used as "peace keepers" and "nation builders", when, in fact, most of the soldiers killed were actually deployed pursuant to activities like building roads to areas that the Taliban was trying to keep isolated (and vulnerable to their control).

What we really need to do is just take off the kid gloves. They know that they can hide behind civilians. We are just going to have to accept the colateral damage of innocents getting killed. It is a war and the bad guys have us by the balls. They want a toe to toe fight, well come on out and play. We will show you what real war is all about.
Furthermore.. a lot of these "civilians" are basically of a similar mindset. Maybe they don't get into the fight directly, but at the very least they give ideological support and often they shelter these beasts.
Heavy bombings would serve for the general poluation to realize they are better off without the Taleban, Taliban.. I say Tomato, Stan! Potato.
They may begin to turn them in to our forces more than now.. for fear for their own safety. Right now they have more to fear from the T-ban than from us. See Nazi Germany. The populace followed Hitler until the Allies came in and then most of them sided with whatever Allies came in and accepted a new form of Government. De-Nazification was part of the program. well, you need to do-islamify these folk!! That's what history should teach us. But you need insurtmountable force and savagery before pople realize they and their leaders have been defeated and that it's in their own best interest to change their ways.
Why we don't do that in this case and in Iraq I have no idea! well, I do.. PC PC PC PC PC PC
The Left wants us to lose!

And as Hugh likes to write you can do anything you can, no matter how small or seemingly insignificant, to make it difficult for them to impose their ideology here in the West. Lawfully/legally, of course.

germaninamerica:
According to senior Canadian NATO troops in Afghanistan, Taliban sympathy is actually very local to a relatively small portion of the country. It has also been posited that the up-tick in attacks has been, in part, the result of an influx of the non-Iraqi jihaddists from Iraq, including some Shiites courtesy of Iran who don't mind joining the fight, but not as suicide bombers, which is primarily what the "tour of duty" in Iraq consists of.
At the moment it seems there is an inexhaustible number of Muslims willing to become martyrs, but I'm not sure the pleged support is quite what certain people would have us believe, or we'd be seeing, for instance, a lot more of Iran's 20,000 women who were told were pledging to become martyrs for the Palestinian cause about a year ago exploding themselves in Gaza and the West Bank, n'est pas?

It's worse than that, it is a tactic used by Rove, Republicans and "conservatives", such as calling Estate Taxes (which applied only to the wealthiest of Americans, and not to us middle class) "death taxes". Calling a fetus an unborn baby, and as I saw Tucker yesterday calling a zygote, an "itty bitty tiny human"..in fact it seems that the Right has a monopoly or has perfected the propagandistic misuse of language.. and of course Islam is a rightist conservative ideology.

Talking of which Orwell Rolls in his grave
"A marvel of passionate succinctness, Robert Kane Pappas' docu critically examines the Fourth Estate, once the bastion of American democracy. Docu asks, "Could a media system, controlled by a few global corporations with the ability to overwhelm all competing voices, be able to turn lies into truth?..."Posted by: Nariz-- Variety

Nariz,
Is that what is on your mind in these critical time's? Estate taxes, what to call a fetus, how to equate conservatives with jihazis? Is Carl Rove ruining your life? As is said, If you can’t make it in America you probably can’t make it anywhere. I’m middle class and I am doing ok considering lunatics are trying to blow us up and impose sharia all over the world. Most of the US Military are conservative, they are doing the fighting and dying. But I have an idea you know that. Tell me when the conservatives start calling for the stoning of homosexuals or justifying gang rape. I do agree with you on the Orwellian nature of some media today. But the wave is building, open your eyes and ears to what is being said. It can not be stopped. Tucker? Please! I bet you watch ogleman too.

When the Taliban was in power, they had an official website that was spelt with the 'e', and listed business opportunities in Afghanistan. If one typed 'taliban.com' instead, one would be directed at ummah.net/taliban, where one could read all the rants of one Pakistani writer about everybody else - the Soviets, the Indians, Masood, Hekmatyar, Dostum, et al. The site also plugged the al Rashid Trust, which was banned from operating in the US after 9/11.
Too bad nobody thought of caching that page, so that one can only take my word for it - or not. It was worth more than a few laughs.

Hugh, Emerson was responsible for most of whatever mush there is in the American mind (see for example to look no further Sikhy in the previous post re Bruce Thornton), so as for me at the risk of seeming shallow not to say cynical and with no philological dog in the fight as to the correct spelling of the word in question I'll take the consistancy every time. What was it that Joyce said when asked if he had become a Protestant?

It was all so predictable. He who says A must say B. A straight line from Luther to Calvin to the American puritans, to Transcendental ladies in Boston and Concord scaring the cows, to Unitarianism and thence to our New Age, with Episcopalians giving up Cranmer and Tallis for raves, and even we Catholics singing "Morning Has Broken" at mass (and liking it too, I'm sad to say), and the next thing you know Johnnie Jihad from Marin figures he's got to pick up his gun and light out for Waziristan ahead of the rest.
