More Europe transit plots

Seeking to "raise the pressure" in Europe with possible attacks on air and rail travel. "Al Qaeda May Be Plotting Holiday Attacks," by Farhan Bokhari and Sheila MacVicar for CBS News:

Intelligence agencies have been warned that al Qaeda may be planning to attack air and rail travel in Europe in actions that may occur during the busy holiday travel season, CBS News has learned exclusively.
In separate interviews with Arab and other intelligence sources, CBS News has been told that the warnings come from interrogations of al Qaeda suspects who recently left Afghanistan and Pakistan.
"One suspect said plans for repeating the Heathrow attempt (a reference to the failed 'liquid bomb' plot interrupted in August) were all prepared. It is now a matter of taking action," said one Arab official who asked not to be named because he is not authorized to speak to the media. "Al Qaeda's strategy appears to be raising the pressure in Europe."
In a move that has been puzzling intelligence agencies, al Qaeda has been withdrawing well-trained Arab fighters from the mountains and battlefields of Afghanistan.
In detailed interviews with Arab diplomats, intelligence sources and Pakistani and western officials, Arab members have been leaving Afghanistan for the past six months while handing over its militant activities in Afghanistan to that country's resurgent Taliban movement.
The new information helps to shed fresh light on a key mystery at the heart of al Qaeda's decision, first reported by CBS News in September, to withdraw its Arab members, fighters and logisticians from Afghanistan.
[...]
"We believe that today the Arabs are much more useful to bin Laden if they are deployed in their home countries, particularly in the Middle East, to target Western assets, Western interests. Because of that we have seen a shift in al Qaeda thinking and al Qaeda strategy in encouraging members to leave Afghanistan and Pakistan," says [Rohan] Gunaratna.

There is much more in the full CBS article, linked above, with respect to the al-Qaeda-Taliban dynamic, as well as Iranian involvement in the harboring of al-Qaeda fighters.

Why do Arabs bother to raise the ire of the West by engaging in massive terror plots on a continent that they will own in less than a century by simply immigrating and populating?

They could win the war without bombs or guns due to the short-sightedness of the West.

It really gets tiresome hearing about these loathsome plots that these maniacs are always putting together. I'm really beginning to think that the only way this war against Islamania will be won is to be totally merciless against them- a war in the brutal style of Hitler vs Stalin. These monsters absolutely refuse to live peacefully with anybody in the world and they simply cannot be trusted. The only thing they show even a little respect for is the iron fist. These crazies already make life needlessly miserable in the countries they defile and they constantly strive to make things even worse. Will it require genocide to finally be rid of this Islamaniac plague? Nobody really wants that but they increasingly leave the West with little choice. We do not wish to act like the beasts that they are but better that than to have them enslave or exterminate us.

I'd be happy if the Guardian didn't print op-eds by HAMAS politicians glorifying human shields. We're a long way from total war, loooooong way.

Deporting some imams should have been a decade ago, but they're still spewing and lawyered to the gills.

From the article:

"al Qaeda has been withdrawing well-trained Arab fighters from the mountains and battlefields of Afghanistan."

Because they know we're gonna' kick their butts!!

It is now clear why Bush called it "ROP" because they start that ROP education when they are 1 (minute) old.

ISLAMSFORLOSERS,

Yes, we are needlessly shackling ourselves with ethical considerations for the most egregiously undeserving. Rules of honour are never applicable for the dishonourable. When do we wake up?

Here's a poem of Inspiration I hope to all of us:

She came to me one morning
One lonely Sunday morning
Her long hair flowing in the midwinter wind
I know not how she found me
For in darkness I was walking
And destruction lay around me
From a fight I could not win

Ahh Ahh Ahh, Ahh Ahh Ahh Ahh

She asked me name my foe then
I said the need within some men
To fight and kill their brothers
Without thought of love or God
And I begged her give me horses
To trample down my enemies
So eager was my passion
To devour this waste of life

Ahh Ahh Ahh, Ahh Ahh Ahh Ahh

But she wouldn't think of battle that
Reduces men to animals
So easy to begin
And yet impossible to end
For she's the mother of all men
Who counselled me so wisely then
I feared to walk alone again
And asked if she would stay

Oh lady lend your hand outright
And let me rest here at your side
Have faith and trust in peace she said
And filled my heart with life

There's no strength in numbers
Have no such misconception
But when you need me
Be assured I won't be far away

Ahh Ahh Ahh, Ahh Ahh Ahh Ahh

Thus having spoke she turned away
And though I found no words to say
I stood and watched until I saw
Her black cloak disappear
My labour is no easier
But now I know I'm not alone
I'll find new heart
Each time I think upon that windy day

And if one day she comes to you
Drink deeply from her words so wise
Take courage from her as your prize
And say hello from me

Ahh Ahh Ahh, Ahh Ahh Ahh Ahh

It would appear that Europe is going to pay a heavy price in the the name of PC. I only hope that the west will recognize the threat in time.

The unsettlement, the fear, the expense of monitoring at every step, the expense incurred by non-Muslims who must show up at the airport an extra hour (at least) early for every flight, and sometimes two, at an airport where the passenger's experience is as a result full of wasted time, an experience unpleasant in all respects, all this is just one small aspect of a problem that will not go away, and cannot.

Look at Qur'an, look at the hadith, look at the biography of that Perfect Man Muhammad. Look not only at the tenets of Islam, but at the attitudes that naturally arise, in Muslims who grow up, whether in a Muslim country or in Europe, in societies or families or just groups suffused with the attitudes and atmospherics of Islam. One need not have attended a madrasa. One need not have gone to a particular mosque or even to any mosque. One may have grown up in a largely secular environment. But if, for any number of reasons, one now feels that one "is a Muslim" and therefore, it (il)logically follows, one must "behave as a Muslim" and suddenly, all those commands in Qur'an, glossed and elaborated upon by the Hadith, and the apparently mesmerizing figure of Muhammad, take on meaning, and the new-born or re-born Muslim is now following, not Christ, but quite a different figure, with quite a different set of commands.

The inability of large numbers of people to understand this, because it is too frightening and too painful for them, and does not fit what they think makes sense, what they think should be, is understandable. They have been idiotized by everything around them. It is asking so much. But so much must be asked, if they are to not only save themselves, but not stand in the way of the clear-eyed who do not share their problems and their mental makeup, and have no reason to continue to suffer and pay for the comforting pieties (here's one: "all people want freedom";here's another: "all religions teach the same thing")and received un-wisdom of so many.

In the new world being created by malevolent forces that are still largely dealt with as a police matter, instead of as something requiring a systematic effort to constrain, in every way, the power of Islam -- its presence in the West, and its hold over the minds of Muslims by forcing them to make the connection between Islam as a belief-system and the political, economic, social, moral, and intellectual failures of Muslim peoples and states.

Both need to be undertaken. Both are being largely ignored by the polypragmonic, Baby-Huey behavior of the American government and fellow members of what used to be too-easily called the Western alliance.

Meanwhile, Gordon Brown vows to give in if he becomes prime minister. I know this is slightly off topic, but frankly I am frightened by the Orwellian measures - change the crime to suit the case - that our political elite are going to go to to appease Islam:

Nick Griffin, leader of the British National Party, was found not guilty on Friday of inciting racial hatred during secretly filmed speeches in 2004.
Two senior ministers said the comments had upset most Britons

[I disagree]

and British Muslims needed reassurance that the laws would protect them.
"Any preaching of religious or racial hatred will offend mainstream opinion in this country and I think we have got to do whatever we can to root it out," Chancellor Gordon Brown told the BBC.

[of course, who else would he say this to]

"If that means that we have to look at the (race hate) laws again, I think we will have to do so."

Constitutional Affairs Secretary Charles Falconer said the country had to show it would not tolerate attacks on Islam.

"If you say Islam is wicked and evil and there is no consequence from that whatsoever, what is being said to young Muslim people in this country is that we ... are anti-Islam," he told the BBC.

http://uk.news.yahoo.com/11112006/325/uk-mulls-hate-law-reform-far-right-leader-cleared.html

The Mail reports at a slightly different angle:

Speaking to a crowd of cheering supporters through a megaphone, Mr Griffin said: "We have shown Tony Blair and the BBC that they can take our taxes, but they cannot take our hearts, they cannot take our cause and they cannot take our freedom."

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/articles/news/news.html?in_article_id=415709&in_page_id=1770

This view has a lot of resonance with a lot of people. I agree with Griffen on this myself. Chairman Brown and his ilk blame Islamic Jihad on poverty and islamaphobia, or they give weight to the Muslim excuses that it is because of Iraq and Afghanistan that they are radicalised. And if the the political elite continue to do this, and if they continue to find ways to persecute - not just the BNP - but a valid point of view, instead of recognising the real problem, then it will only drive more support to the BNP.

This is but an average european living in America who has just spent a night out speaking to other Europeans.. from several countries..

Looks like you grow balls when you move to the States

Posted by: FREE LEE [TypeKey Profile Page] at November 11, 2006 7:52 AM

And just Europeans? Why? Don't you mix with the Americans? Is it because they are obviously so stupid as to vote for pitiful George Bush, and you are so obviously a superior European - and one of the Uber Menschen at that.

Britain, out of Europe, Now!

Posted by: FREE LEE [TypeKey Profile Page] at November 11, 2006 7:59 AM

The number of terror plots in the UK was originally reported as 200 , but was downgraded to 'only 30'.
I feel MUCH safer with this news !

FREE LEE

one of the reasons Europeans at times don't believe there is a difference between the US and Al Qaeda is the kind of rhetorics you display: Kind of hate speech.

Posted by: FreeSpeech [TypeKey Profile Page] at November 11, 2006 10:08 AM

OK then FreeSpeech,

I respond to a guy who says this:

Pleasze BRING IT ON in Europe so WE FINALLY HAVE OUR EXCUSE to burn your mosks.. to muder and humiliate your dead bodies

and you accuse me of Hate Speech?

What were they doing on their night out, celebrating kristallnacht?

And not only do you accuse me of Hate Speech, but you articulate a moral equivalence between the USA and Al Queda. I don't mind the slurs that you make against me, I am not going to ride to your rescue when you are finally forced out of your delusion. No, it will be the United States, the greatest force for good in the world (albeit slightly hampered at the moment by the Democrats) who will be doing the rescuing.

And listen up, I am British, Britain is the border of my extended community in which we, the people of my community, should have the power to decide how we are ruled and who rules us. Power lies through democracy in the People. It is not for an unelected body sitting in Brussels, paid for by our taxes, to decide how we should be allowed to live our lives.

No taxation without representation, every American knows what this means - do you, you Euro Slave? And because the Americans can grasp this noble idea, it makes them a great deal more advanced than the Europeans who seem to love a system of feudalism. It's not the other way around, as the Europeans think it is.

And because the Americans have grasped this and similar concepts - concepts born in Britain, then it means that you certainly cannot equate Americans with Al Queda. Your saying that demonstrates why I do not want to live in a country called Europe. I want to live in a country called Britain, under common law, that grasps the idea of the rights of men, and that does not have its right to maintain its links with other English speaking nations taken away by some foreign soviet polit bureau.

Excuse me! We don't have 'the holiday season' in Europe. We have Christmas and New Year and we are not ashamed to say so. The 'holiday season' is the months of June to September, inclusive.

Enough with the anti-Christian, anti-European Culture weasel speak!

Dominic.

those well-trained Arab jihadis prove their valour once again -

Option A. Attacking American troops packing considerable heat

Option B. Attacking a bunch of women and children on a bus

Anyone surprised the valiant muslim warriors pick option B? By the way with reference to the incident in Indonesia, when did a single catholic priest EVER (including the middle ages) ask parishioners to bring the heads of three non-christian kids to help celebrate Easter?
