If the rest of America would discover you and hear the warnings you provide, we could unite and speed up the victory over the evil radical Islamists.

The Democrats just don't understand who we are facing and they indirectly caused the jihadist assassins to kill over 100 troops in October just to use the "Count-up to 100" as a way to get more votes for Democrats.

Now that the Democrats have won, Al-Qaeda firsts says "This is a victory for Iran and Al-Qaeda, and then says they will not stop Jihad until they burn down the White House"

What do we have to do to get the Liberals to understand who and what we are facing? And that the only way to defeat them, is to do it via superior firepower, we must destroy them before they destroy us. Plain and simple.

I will take your advice to heart (what you said on the video interview with Atlas) about what we, the individuals, can do... It's easier said than done, but we must try, because so many of us want to do SOMETHING....

I've been watching a very interesting Remembrance Day series on WW I on the Discovery Civilisation channel. Part IV was called "Jihad".

Until now I wasn't even aware that the Germans collaborated with the Turks in WW I. Maybe Hugh can comment on Oppenheim actually motivating the Turks to call a jihad in order to destabilise the British Empire.

I guess I should read more history books... On the other hand all the WW I trench killings etc. has been depressing enough. Oh, well. I guess I need a rest.

See both scholarly works, such as Vahakn Dadrian's comments on the role of Germans in the Armenian massacres of 1915 on, and those deemed more popular, such as Peter Hopkirk's "Setting the World Aflame." If you google "Max von Oppenheim" and "jihad" plenty should come up; look especially for an article by Wolfgang Schwanitz, but there's all sorts of stuff. The idea was simple: have the Ottoman government issue a fatwa against the Allies (England, France, and Russia) as oppressors of Muslims, and hope especially that it would rouse Muslims in the Middle East and in India. It wasn't very effective, but in those days the Muslims were without the OPEC trillions, without means of mass dissemination of material (no Internet or satellite television, no videocassettes or audiocassettes, no television, no radio, mass illiteracy), impoverished (no ten trillion dollars in OPEC money), as there is plenty of money, and the means of dissemination and whipping up Muslim masses, and groups, and indiividuals, are all over the place.

The Jihad was declared in 1915; for various reasons the copy possessed by the American State Department was kept secret, off-limits, until the late 1950s. I don't know why. There are many such puzzlements and mysteries. Perhaps no one in the Department understood its significance, and therefore why it might matter. Jefferson and Madison and Adams and William Eaton would have understood. But those were differnt people, of an altogether different mental formation, than what we have today -- have, for example, as members of Baker's Iraq Study Group.

In Islamic theology, all people are born Muslim. Their failure to follow Islam is a result of "corruption". Thus the statement is true, not from a factual point of view but from a theological one.

Astute observation. Quetzalcoatl was indeed Allah. Quetzalcoatl was the Aztec snake god...hmm...any relation to the old serpent, Beelzebub or Mr. Scratch? It is not a coincidence that at the zenith of the Aztec civilizations prestige and power there were sometimes as many as 10,000 humans being sacrificed in one day, (especially after a battle where the losing side ended up being the victims.)

This "god" of the Muslims demands a sacrifice of blood everyday, as we see in the endless articles and links here regarding typical Islamic behavior. And like the Aztecs who made excuses for human sacrifice to the gods, going as far as to say Quetzalcoatl actually was opposed to it, their "taqqiyah" only helped to further institutionalize the practice.

Like the Aztecs, the lives of those who oppose Muslims have little value, except what can be used to strengthen the position, or further the cause, of Islam. It's interesting to note that after the introduction of the Blessed Mother into Aztec society in the form of Our Lady of Guadalupe by the Spanish padres, human sacrifice ceased to exist within 3 1/2 years. Could we possibly learn a way to combat this pernicious foe we face by doing the same?

An earlier poster made the comment "... the world is going mad". All I can say to that is "AMEN". The Baker & Botts group is populated with people that have their lips superglued to the arab's posteriors, that are at best neutral on Israel (and most are openly hostile) and, in my considered opinion, do NOT have the best interestes of this country in mind. They are CFR "one-worlders" (Scowcroft is probably the worst in that regard) and will sell this country down the river. Another poster noted that the Baker & Botts is helping in the defense against one of the 9/11 suits - they are on the side of a SAUDI that has direct connections to the financing of jihadi groups all over the world! Isn't it just ducky that one of their people is about to become the US Sec. of Defense?

Bush 41 was a foreign policy disaster for this country - as bad or worse than Clinton. Now all the Bush 41 retreads are back. I fear very much for this country and the overall war on Islamofascism. With "friends" like the Baker et all we sure as hell don't need any enemies - the enemies are within the gates.

Robert, in your considered opinion, what (if anything) can be done at this late hour to head off this disaster in the making?

I fear that Limbaugh is right when he said last Wednesday (right after the announcement of Rumsfeld's "resignation") that things are going to get a lot worse before they get better.

Robert, one other thing - please be careful (and I mean that in the personal security context).

Allah is not to be confused with the Aztec god Quetzlcoatl (who despite being portrayed as a serpent was not in favor of human sacrifice). In fact, I think that Mormons make the case that he was actually Jesus visiting the new world. The Aztec god that most resembles Allah is Huitzilopotchli. This god demanded, and got, the death of thousands of people.
