Regardless of what happened in Palestine for the last fifty eight years from changing the demography of the population by turning the Arab majority to a minority by military force and turning the Jewish minority to majority, still Palestine in fact is an Arab/Muslim land from the dawn of history. Its being Arab goes back deep in history, from the time of the Canaanite Arabs who emigrated from the Arabian peninsula to Palestine over 5000 years ago, since that time until our own days the Arabism of Palestine never stopped. There has been a documented and well known history of the Jews having their homeland in that area. There was a reason the Romans called it Judea. If you take a shovle and start digging you will find Hebrew artifacts in that region that are much, much older than any Arab or Islamic relics you may find.
Also the UN decided that Israel has a right to exist. If you will not except that simple fact then you need to leave the UN and set yourself outside the rule of law for all the world to see.
Islam must learn that others have the right to exist in freedom and safty without having to pay extortionist protection money.
Many in the Muslim world look at the Democrats winning the midterm elections as a victory for the extremists fighting Jihad. What it really shows is that America is tired of tring to improve the lives of Muslims and doesn't want to waste any more time or resorces on them. After we leave Iraq I'm sure some crazed muslim will attack us with great destruction and loss of life here in America. Israel has shown remarkable restraint in palistine. The so-called soldiers of islam routinely hide behind rock throwing youths. The Israeli soldiers have the power to kill the child and in truth should. A rock is not as accurate as a rifle but it is a deadly projectile and in enough numbers is a severe hazard. Basic common sense and the right to survive should set the rules of engagement not PC policy makers. The soldier is caught in the middle, risk injury and no nothing or shoot and cause an international incident and in the aftermath a loss of your job for defending your comrades. As long as those same children are being raised and programmed to be future suicide bombers killing them should not be an issue. The only other options are just as unfavorable. You could catch them and try and deprogram them but then what? You couldn’t send them home just to be re-indoctrinated and you can not afford to let them get older and attack your children. Walling them in and tossing in food is only a short-term solution like all cockroaches they will breed and escape. Israel has no solution and continues to show remarkable training and resolve. As a retired soldier having seen dangerous mobs myself the Israeli military has earned my respect.

You are right my friend. I have heard many a smooth talking PC spokesperson, it all sounds good, we sit around holding hands singing and spreading brotherhood among men. I wish I could live in that world but It exists only in their minds. I have seen both the best of mankind and its worst. I believe in my heart there are more good people than bad but I realize you have to search out the bad or the good people will be doomed. This had a violent start and it will have a violent end, that is the nature of man. Everyone doesn’t have to fight with force but everyone had best pick a side.

Moreover, the word "Palestine" derives from the Hebrew term "Plishtim," which was the name they gave (possibly Greek) seafaring people who settled in the Southwestern coast of Canaan, essentially where the "Gaza strip" is today. In the Bible they are referred to as "Philistines." The term "plishtim" itself means "invaders," which is very descriptive of these insane, blood-thirsty people.

"Palestinian history" doesn't even begin until after World War I, after the Ottoman Empire was broken up. That was LESS THAN 100 years ago! Before that, there was NEVER any local "Palestinian" seat of government with in the region. The last governing body to hold this land within the region was before AD 70, when the Roman emperor Titus destroyed Jerusalem. "Palestinians" NEVER ruled the current land of Israel.

I have a proposition, based on an observation.

The observation is that muslims elicit a violent response by iniating violent attacks, and that responses are justifiable attempts at self defense.

Comes to mind, nothing less than 9-11 and 7-7 in London and the train bombing in Madrid.

If there is no self defensive action, the muslims deem and adjudge their target to be weaklings, effeminate, peoples who lack steadfastness..in other words a perfect target for takeover and aggression.

Muslims assert that their attacks are justified actions against an occupier.

However the reason there is an occupation force is because of self defensive actions against those who initiate force.

Call an occupation force, a police force, and the argument changes.

Do we rant against a police force, against police who defend our lives and property?

The muslims bring down violence on themselves with their own actions, their rockets, bombings, and armed attacks (and a rock is a weapon..Count Montefiore was killed by a rock flung by a woman with a sling, David killed Goliath with a rock) a rock is a projective.. a low velocity, high mass projectile, whereas a bullet is a high velocity, low mass projectile.. the results of rock versus bullet are derived from the Newtonian equation of f=ma.

Let the muslims cease and desist in their acts of aggression, kidnapping and violence. Destroy their rockets and launchers, destroy their weapons and munitions, stop their agggression against the Jews and Christians, pagans and atheists...then they can justifiable claim to the U.N. and world that they are truly being oppressed by the Jews and America if any aggressive actions are taken against them after they cease and desist.

I believe that even Israelis and Christian Zionists would object to any unfair and aggressive actions or behaviors on the part of Israel against the inhabitants of Gaza, the West Bank, Lebanon, or whatever...if there were no violent actions on the part of these people that elicit and justify a defensive response by Israel, America or any country that is the victim of muslim/Arab aggression and violence.

I'm beginning to think that madhat is all talk, like most muslims. I believe he speaks for internal consumption, to rally the troops, to keep Israel on edge. He chose August 22 as a date to freak out people, and he did just that. But nothing happened. Why? Because there was nothing behind it.

He knew that that date would be picked up as having some apocalyptic significance. And it was. He put it out there as bait. A lot of people took that bait, including me, and the joke was on us.

I am willing to bet that this guy is not nuts at all. Just a muslim doing his best to stir the pot, but mostly for radical appeal. After all, what is his job, as president of Iran, if not to be propaganda minister, to bash Israel and the US? He doesn't actually run the country. The Ayatollah and his clique of dirty old men do that. He is just Iran's version of Baghdad Bob.

Remember, that muslims are like that. They have huge mouths. They love to issue threats. In the islamic world, a threat is not even a bluff, as it is here. A threat is just a way of talking. It is hyperbole, a flowerly finish to a wish. Remember prior to the American bombing of Tripoli in '86 following the disco bombing, when the US Navy was approaching Libya? Gaddafi warned that the sea would "run red with American blood!" He knew that to be impossible. Libya had no navy. It was just 1) good tough talk for internal arab consumption, and 2) arab wishful thinking.

Scenario: Two islamic men get into a quarrel in a fruit market in Baghdad:

Mohammad: I had my eye on that melon! That is mine!

Indian opinion, polled by the Pew Research Centre of the U.S. as part of a 15-nation survey with a nearly 17,000-strong sample, marks a stunning break from this global trend. In a poll conducted between end-March and mid-May in just five large Indian cities (the four biggest plus Nagpur) - and probably heavily biased towards the relatively affluent minority of people who own landline telephones - , as many as 56 per cent of respondents said they have a "favourable opinion" of the U.S. government.

India's 56 per cent approval of the U.S. this year is noticeably lower than its 71 per cent score last year. But seen over a period of time, the trend bears a sharp contrast to the way the rest of the world looks at the U.S. For instance, since 2002, in every single country barring Pakistan, America's rating has slipped, often precipitously. But in India, it has risen from 54 to 56 per cent.

This is not an isolated piece of statistic. It is corroborated and reinforced by the Pew finding that as many as 56 per cent of Indians approve of President George W. Bush's "leadership" and 65 per cent support the U.S.-led global "war on terrorism".

India's confidence rating for Bush is the highest anywhere, even higher than in the U.S. (50 per cent), where his popularity is plumbing the lowest-ever depths (31 to 34 per cent in other recent polls). In contrast to India's elite, only 30 per cent of Britons, 25 per cent of Germans, 18 per cent of French and 7 per cent of Spaniards have "a lot/some confidence in Bush's international leadership".

Of all these leaders, Bush's marks are, globally, the lowest. Indeed, even in his own country, his confidence rating (50 per cent) is way below Tony Blair's 66 per cent. It is only in India and Nigeria that Bush's rating represents a solid majority - the highest score of all the polled leaders. But in Nigeria, Bush's popularity (52 per cent) is "overwhelmingly driven by the country's Christian population", (approval rating, 82 per cent, compared to 19 per cent among Muslims). So India is truly exceptional.

"This is a terrible comment on the naivete, if not downright stupidity, of the Indian urban elite. It lacks the ability to make a discerning distinction between different leaders, and worse, to critically evaluate a man like Bush, with all his arrogance, boorishness and his obvious incomprehension of the complexities of world politics. Now for the above comments I would say, We Indians have a good reason for our opinions about Bush or about americans or global war on terror. We have given thats support because we know what terror is, and what manifests it and what results out of it. America is a super power and it is the responsibility to defend truth rather than running away from responsibilites like the commentator here suggests america has to do.

A majority of people the world over see it as a "greater danger to world peace" than Iran with its nuclear programme or the North Korean regime. But in India, only 15 per cent regard the U.S. occupation as a danger to world peace - a proportion less than half of the rating in America (31 per cent), and only a third of the average in Germany, Russia or Spain.

Even more disturbing, more Indians (41 per cent) believe that the dislodging of Saddam Hussein has made the world "a safer place" than those who do not (34). Contrast this with the ratings in Washington's allies: France (20 against 76), Britain (30 against 60), Germany (21 against 66), Japan (26 to 61) and Spain (7 to 68), not to speak of Russia (17 to 44), China (8 to 44), or Pakistan (11 to 52).

The recoil of the rifle or shotgun causes the bruises, or rather the violence of the recoil causes them. If you go shopping around for something to defend yourself with, ask a gun expert about the recoil of specific rifles or handguns, and try to find one that does not hit back as much. I am NOT an expert, but while I was in the Army the M16A2 rifle was fairly light on the recoil, so targetting and actually hitting your target isn't difficult, as long as you remembered the basic principles of targetting and squeezing off your rounds.

One thing to note about rifles and handguns (of what little I know) is that the less the recoil usually means a lower caliber, which ALSO means less "knockdown" capability. If someone means to harm or kill you, you do not want to have to hit your target more than once in order to stop the predator. So, you'll want to keep that in mind also.

Thanks Yohann -- that's good to know. I'm used to firing a 45 caliber shotgun, so I don't mind a little recoil, especially if it means being more efficient; and I've never used a handgun before, so I think I would prefer owning my own shotgun.

Shooting at clay discs for fun is one thing, but firing at a human being is quite another. I've never been in a life threatening situation, so I'm not sure what to expect, but I wouldn't hesitate to shoot if I needed to.

1. "Germans want you dead" - well, they DID during WWII, remember. Conclusion: just because someone says they want you dead, don't assume they don't mean it. There is such a thing as evil.

2. This thread was orginallly about Iran's Nutjob stating *yet again* that Israel would be destroyed. Iran is also developing nuclear facilities that may serve to make nuclear weapons. Whew!!! I thought that the two so-called "trolls" (Ramon & Karkun) would NEVER sign off! What a relief! However, it must be said, that they certainly brought out the worst in several overwrought & overheated islamophobes (of which, admittedly, I definitely am one!) that blog on this site (and usually in a much calmer & more effective way, DUH..).

But the clever response of August22 with that funny tale right out the Arabian Nights - the one with the two arabs duking it out verbally at the fruit market over a melon, frgawdssake - was just the sort of welcome levity (with point & purpose!) that was needed at the height of the name-calling & hate-spewed exchange between the trolls & the (usually) "good guys." Any more up your sleeve? I like the punchlines!

On the other hand, remember, most people who believe CAIR's b.s. are already in their camp. People who read anything they may take out of context usually know what they're up to.

These mohammedan trolls may think they can pull a "gotcha", but anything they can cite can be seen easily in its whole thread by dropping a few of the words from an extract into a search engine. This exposes their weak attempts at undermining like nothing else does. People who don't bother to properly contextualize mohammedan "evidence" and lurk around their websites, unless it's for recon purposes, usually already have their minds made up and have no need to see statements from us to oppose us.

If nothing else, sometimes they just can't be let to get away with their shit. We cannot let anxiety of being taken out of context drive us to full-time self-censorship.
