In "My day in court" in Israel Insider, Salah Uddin Shoaib Choudhury , the persecuted journalist in Bangladesh, discusses the proceedings against him yesterday:
As some of you are aware, Bangladesh is currently experiencing serious political problems, and on 13th November the entire country was under the 'Blockade' programs of a major political party. Naturally, there was no vehicle on the road, and in every other place, there was a large number of angry demonstrators chanting slogans.I woke up in the early morning to prepare for the court. By 8:30 am., I was already on my way. And, there was nothing on the road, except some bicycles and rickshaws. I had to walk for around 3 kilometers, before I could somehow manage a rickshaw (distance between my residence and the court is above 20 kilomemeters). Then the rickshaw was stopped at one point, almost two kilometers away from the court, by police, who put barricades on roads. Then I had to walk again. By the time I was inside the court building, I was sweating. Till now, winter has not been very much experienced in Dhaka.
The Court picked up my case at 1:35 pm., and there was a hearing for around 10 minutes. The judge, Mohammed Momin Ullah, asked the Public Prosecutor to read the charge in front of me. He came and read, "By praising the Jews and Christians, by attempting to travel to Israel and by predicting the so-called rise of Islamist millitancy in the country and expressing such through writings inside the country and abroad, you have tried to damage the image and relations of Bangladesh with the outside world. For which, charges under section 295-A, 120-A, 124-A, 105-A and 108-A are brought against you. Are you guilty or not"? he asked.
I replied, "I am not guilty." By advocating inter-faith dialogue, supporting relations between Bangladesh and Israel, I have not done anything wrong. Regarding the existence of Islamist radicals in this country, the matter is already endorsed several times by country's press, leaders, administration and judiciary. Continuation of this false case will open the doors for JMB criminals, whose death penalty issue is now in the higher court, in getting legal benefit. I firmly stand on my position'. Then my lawyers told the court that they will challenge this decision to the higher court.
The angry judge, a radical, then asked the Public Prosecutor to call the witnesses on 22nd Janaury 2007.
What a 'great New Year gift' from the radical judge! Isn't it?
May I request you all to kindly consider the following points:
- The government should end all forms of harrassments on me
- The travel ban on Israel should be immediately withdrawn
- Israeli news media should have access to Bangladesh (presently Bangladesh does not permit appointment of representatives of any of the Israeli media),
- Bangladesh should immediately begin relations with Israel,
- Provocative sermons (instigating people towards scalled jihad and bloodshed) in mosques and madrassas against Jews and Christians should be banned,
- Demand immediate removal of radical judge Momin Ullah from the Metropolitan Session Judge's court, and sacked,
- Legal proceedings should be immediately drawn against him for his alliance with Islamist radicals,
- Government to ensure immediate security to me (police protection at my residence is not yet back, despite two letters to the President),
- Radical leader Mufti Noorani, who exploded a bomb in our office in July and the attackers belongs to BNP's cultural wing, should be immediately arrested,
- Cash US$ 3,000 and other valuables, which had been seized during my arrest should be immediately returned.
Thus my day in court.

"The angry judge, a radical..."
More reason than ever not to let our Constitution be overshadowed by Sharia law. (Although I fully admit, we have A LOT of radical judges in the US.)

Reading muslimspeak, he's (the judge)saying there is to be nothing fair and just. Nothing good. There is only to be islamic terror and savagery, only the worst atrocities imaginable allowed. Kill rape and subjigation for all inhabitants.
If a spark of hope or justice were shown, muslims might see the light and error of their ways and the bloodlust of their insane cult might be reformed. Muslim males would lose their reign over the other half of the hive. The women might realize there is a different way of life for them. For their children.
Maybe. Maybe not.

Hard to believe that Bangladesh's image will be harmed by this one person-its image has been anything but positive since day one.

poetcomic1 I love your comment! You're exactly right because we all know that peaceful Islam's words
"kill the unbelivers wherever you find them"
"strike at the unbelivers necks"
are sooooo much better. Islam religion of piece --more like religion of pieces.

Persecussion and intimidation are the staple conduct of islamic regimes regardless of their political ideologies (i.e., reform or conservative) when dealing with people who stress individual liberties, free speech and thought. The main issue (from my experiences) is that the intimidation is erratic and whimsical depending of the mood of people you are dealing with. Some course of actions taken against those who speak negatively about government politics or islamic tenets are not even based on the due process, in fact some are counter to the civil laws.
I am glad Salah was released, thanks to the public outcry of journalists from abroad and inside Bangladesh. However, the question remains how many of these persecutions are perpetuated againts civilians, educators, women, and intellectuals? I am afraid to say that perhaps many. And they do not have to deal with the courts systems, they come from ordinary people who are in position of authority, who use their power to intimidate, belittle, and instill fear in you just because you happen to think differently about issues dealing in Islam.

ACTION ALERT: EMERGENCY U.N. SESSION TO DENOUNCE ISRAEL
Nov. 14, 2006
Tomorrow the newly formed UN Human Rights Council will meet in emergency session to consider a call by Islamic states to denounce "the Israeli targeting and killing of Palestinian civilians in Beit Hanoun while asleep." The Arab-sponsored draft goes on to list a long litany of alleged Israeli crimes—but fails to condemn the terrorism committed by Hamas, Islamic Jihad and other Palestinian groups. It doesn't even mention them at all.
This will mark the third emergency session in the Council's 5-month history—each of which has been against Israel. And the proposed draft, if adopted, will become the new body's fourth condemnatory resolution—each of which, again, has been against Israel.
At the UN, Israel has long been demonized as the world's worst violator of international law. But now, under the supposedly reformed Human Rights Council, Israel has become the world's only violator. The other 191 countries in the world body—including serial abusers like Sudan, China, Cuba—are of no interest at all.?
Sadly, the initiators of tomorrow's exercise seek to exploit human suffering for political ends. "What happened [last] week to residents in the northern Gaza town of Beit Hanoun was a terrible tragedy," wrote the Globe and Mail, Canada's leading newspaper. " But Palestinian authorities must share the blame. Because they did nothing to stop teams of militants from setting up in Beit Hanoun and brazenly firing Kassam rockets at Israeli communities, they set the stage for the inevitable Israeli response. No nation could stand by indefinitely while its citizens' lives were put at risk by wanton violence rained down on them daily for months on end. Sadly, Palestinian political leaders are all too ready to make a dreadful situation worse by escalating the violence. Hamas has declared that it will return after a two-year absence to its preferred terrorist tactic of sending suicide bombers into Israel."
Hopes were high that the new Council would become a protective voice for human rights victims worldwide. Instead it has been subverted right from the start.
At tomorrow's session the usual suspects will automatically throw their support behind the Arab and Islamic initiative.
But two big questions remain. Will France and the rest of the influential Europe Union forcefully oppose the biased resolution? What about Argentina and the South American countries?
The world will notice.
Urge countries to vote NO

"By praising the Jews and Christians, (...) you have tried to damage the image and relations of Bangladesh with the outside world."
Actually, the Bangladesh "radical" judge is more in-tune with the world's opinion of Jews and Christians than you think. The MSM worldwide has no love for Christians, and antisemitism is on the rise. Whenever I see "Christians" depicted in news stories, I'm sure to see them in the worst possible light, either as bigots or dumkoffs. I'm sure this trend is typical as well in Europe, where the "angry disenfranchised youth" phenomenon (Muslims raping girls and burning all manner of property) is attempted to be kept under wraps.
This judge is actually rather sane in wishing to keep Jews and Christians in a bad light, because he is obligated to do so, since he is under a system that cannot tolerate any other system of thought and/or faith. The rest of the world does not have any excuse. The Muslim continues to present themselves as a social and economic threat to everyone. They have killed indescriminately in NYC, London, and Madrid, and are destroying security and freedom throughout the European continent. Their behavior is quite irrational.

Hey folks, if the blogosphere helps to shine a light on Salah Udin Choudhury's, it could be a major psychological defeat for the Islamists. But we all have to act by putting pressure on our governments. I'm working on a petition here in Toronto, Canada, through the auspices of the Canadian Coalition for Democracies. I understand, as well, that PEN is taking up Choudhury's cause.
In the US, there's a Chicago resident named Benkin who has been trying to help Choudhury for a number of years. You may be able to find out more by visiting U of Penn professor Jeff Weintraub's blogsite. Instead of wasting time arguing with trolls like Ramon or Naseem, how about trying to take a stand where it may not only save the life of a very brave man, but force the folks in denial to take an honest look at what is really going on in the Muslim world.

I guess this guy is lucky he lives in an "enlightened" Muslim country. In some other places he would have been beheaded long ago for being such a "vile criminal".
I'll bet the part about establishing relations with Israel was deemed the worst of all. That alone probably gets you a whipping in Iran or Saudi Arabia.

This reminds me of the lurid tales of the NAZI judges in the German courts during the 1930's.
I suggest that if Tony Balir and Prince Charles have their way, this will also soon occur in the British courts within the next five years.
Moreover I suggest that if Pelosi and her ilk have their way, this same sad state of affairs will happen in American courts much sooner than that.
We are looking at a critical mass of islamic hedgemony building in every corner of the world.
Unlike the NAZI's of the distant past, this cancerous reality of totalatarianism has spread beyond the bounds that Hitler dared to dream for the Third Reich.
Unlike the generation of Western Europeans and Americans of the 1930's, the current generation lacks the will to confront those would kill them; and more, they are co-collaborators with those who would destroy them and all they hold dear.
Sadly, the murderous clerics of islam know this and will I predict, prevail.
I will never convert; I will never submit or pay the nefarious poll tax; and I will never die until the God of Israel determines my appointed time.
Unlike my leaders, I choose to fight! By God I will fight hard until the end by every legal means and remedy as long as I am able.
But I will never submit or yeild to islam, so help me God.

Freewoman, unfortunately, these women believe it is the will of allah that they be second class citizens, along with the kafir. That's what's so sad. They believe their god desires his servants to have a complete lack of freedom, forgiveness and mercy. Hard to live in peace and grant freedom to others when your example, old Mo, used violence and revenge when dealing with people who did not swallow his spoutings.

Stand fast in the liberty: I also find it tragic that people (women) can be made to believe that God himself wants them to be treated as property and that they are 1/2 as valuable as a man...
that is what hurts me... people will keep themselves in chains that they could slip off if they wanted to. That hurts me in my heart. I'm serious.

To witness: Never yield in your heart, though of course in some lands a person might do well sometimes to pretend conversion to Islam, for example for tactical self-preservation until escape from thugs is possible.

Salah Choudhury is a brave man. He deserves the utmost respect from anyone regardless of their religious affiliations or political background.
In regards to Bangledesh, it is sad to say that when Bangledesh has some natural calamity, it is not their fellow muslims who come to their aid. Rather, it is the infidels who do most of the aid work and relief efforts.

This unfortunate Salah Uddin Shoaib Choudhury is in the wrong country. He has an American point of view in Bangladesh. The best he can expect in that country is a Kafka style trial. He's in trouble for expressing his thoughts. It is a real nightmare to live in such a place. He might come to America-Bangladesh is not the place for him.

The 6th Pillar of Islam hooked up with Sharia. This was a signal day in the sacred holy Islam.
Too bad Orianna Fallaci died before her trial in Italy. Mighta shocked some people to their senses; someting unlikely to happen with this sham trial in a mud-hole like Bangladesh.

Q. Is there a link between Jesus and Christmas?
Why don’t they just stop celebrating his birthday, no gifts, no candy, no feast. I guess they are willing to “take a chance” on offending me by kicking Jesus out of his own birthday party. Sad.

What relations with that mudhole? I always just hate it when a relationship of Bangladesh is damaged. By the way, just what was that relationship anyhow? Mud and fetid water?
And so it goes in Muzziworld.

Freewoman and Plaugue:
A good book to read concerning women's upbringing and why they think the way they do in Islam is "Burned Alive", a very sad true story. I thank God I was raised in America.

from:
http://www.kafirnation.com/myth2.htm
The Jews and Christians were considered evil people because they rejected mohamed as a prophet of god as they knew of the true God and it was rather obvious that he wasn't a prophet sent from Him.
Jesus is the perfect example of love and tolerance
John 8:7. So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.
Muhammed was the perfect opposite:
"The Prophet (Muhammad) said: 'Do not stone the adulteress who is pregnant until she has had her child.' After the birth she was put into a ditch up to her chest and the Prophet commanded them to stone her. Khalid came forward with a stone, which he threw at her head, and there spurted blood on the face of Khalid and he cursed her. The gentle Prophet prayed over her and she was buried."
(Hadith No. Muslim 682)
One would think that in common parlance that to respect someone as a prophet would seek guidance in his teaching.

JESUS SHOWED MERCY
MUHAMMED SHOWED HATE
