Incredible. By Irwin Arieff for Reuters, with thanks to Davida:
UNITED NATIONS (Reuters) - Iran, whose president has vowed to wipe Israel off the map, complained to the United Nations on Wednesday that the Jewish state was repeatedly threatening to bomb it.The threats were "matters of extreme gravity" and the U.N. Security Council should condemn them and demand that Israel "cease and desist immediately from the threat of the use of force against members of the United Nations," Iranian U.N. Ambassador Javad Zarif said.
His comments came in a letter to U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan dated November 10 and circulated at the United Nations on Wednesday....
Israel has fueled the speculation with a series of "unlawful and dangerous threats," Zarif said.

Whats that complaining about a splinter in your neighbors eye when you have a beam sticking out of yours.
Glad to see the muslims, the media, the UN, and our Democrats sticking to the rules books laid out by the National Socialist Movement (Nazi's).
Who needs referrees when they are all playing on the same team?

Poor Iran, those dreadful Zionists are picking on it yet again. Boo hoo.
Funny, Iran runs to the UN only when it needs something. Otherwise, it completely ignores it. No doubt the UN will tell Israel to stop being so mean.
Personally, I don't know why the Urine Nations just doesn't kick out Israel and declare it an outlaw state worthy of extermination already. It's been ages since it ever said anything nice about Israel.

Enough already. The time for talk with Iran ended on August 30th of this year.
Why anyone aside from Hugo Chavez, China and the Islamic nations would expect good things from talking to Iran is beyond my rationality.
Stop talking already. Enough. Start acting.
They've got plutonium and highly enriched uranium traces showing up during IAEA inspections.
They will not stop their agenda unless something forces them to - revolt from within or attack from without.
Nothing else is going to alter the present course of events.

Re: Iran complains to U.N. over repeated Israeli threats
Only a supremacist would not see the irony and farcical nature of such a complaint and not be laughing. Do the belief-system supremacists even have a vague glimpse of reality on this? I doubt it. They will only see reality after very painful consequences. Reason and the humor that comes from seeing contradictions because of reason does not go far with supremacist adherents of this belief-system.

Frank - agreed. The delusionists will lose in part because the can't accurately estimate their own strengths and weaknesses vs. those of their enemies. This is one reason why Hitler lost. The other reason Hitler lost is because he concentrated decision making under this delusion where the allied forces had a more decentralized and lower level decision making structure.
That's why Baghdad Bob was spewing bullshit when the U.S. tanks rolled in-screen behind him. They're outside of rationality. It gives them incredible strength to control as long as outside forces aren't working against it.

In the same breath with which he cries and sighs to the Untied Stagnations, we have the following as reported by Ynetnews.com

Iranian paper: Great war to wipe out Israel coming
Editorials in Iranian newspapers claim '50 percent of Israel already destroyed,' say 'Israel must collapse'
Yaakov Lappin Published: 11.15.06, 16:13
Iranian newspapers Kehyan and and Resalat have urged Muslims around the world to prepare for a 'great war' to destroy the State of Israel.
The newspapers published the editorials, translated from Persian by MEMRI , the Middle East translation service, to mark 'Quds' day on October 20, an Iranian 'holiday' calling for the "liberation" of Jerusalem and war against Israel.
"Hizbullah destroyed at least half of Israel in the Lebanon war... Now only half the path (to its destruction) remains," an editorial in the conservative Keyhan newspaper declared.
"It was proven that, by means of an offensive operation that need not be equal to Israel's moves, it is possible to neutralize the Zionist navy," the article said triumphantly.
'Great war not far off'
It continued: "Just as in one 33-day war more than 50 percent of Israel was destroyed, and the hope of its supporters for the continued life of this regime was broken, it is likely that in the next battle, the second half will also collapse."
"On that day... Jordan will not be able to prevent the Jordanian Islamists from operating through the long Jordan-Palestine border, and the millions of Egyptian Islamists... will not let the Sinai-Israel border remain quiet, and the Syrian Golan Heights will not remain as a (mere) observer of the battle. That day is not so far off."
The Resalat newspaper struck a similarly bellicose tone with an editorial entitled "Preparations for the Great War."
"The great war is ahead of us, (and will break out) perhaps tomorrow, or in another few days, or in a few months, or even in a few Years... Israel must collapse," the newspaper said.
It added: "For the first time in the 60 years of its disgraceful life, the Zionist regime - the West's beloved in the Middle East - tasted the taste of defeat, and the citizens of this regime trembled at the menace of Hizbullah's missiles… The nation of Muslims must prepare for the great war, so as to completely wipe out the Zionist regime, and remove this cancerous growth. Like the Imam (Ayatollah) Khomeini said: 'Israel must collapse.'"

the little man from iran has no shame, but then look at his rants against Israel going unchallenged by any European country, or the UN. But l do know that when Israel speaks about defending themselves and targetting Iran, the little man from iran knows that the Israelis mean business. hope they get to see the mushroom during the Christmass holidays! it will be a great gift from the West. oh let iran shine forever.

NEVER AGAIN!!!
"The great war is ahead of us."
Well, let the movie start. It's called "Armageddon." It's a remake of "Masada" only this time instead of Romans attacking Israel, it's delusional diaper-heads. They face off against the people who invented nuclear weapons (Einstein, Oppenheimer)who won't go down without a fight to the finish. Fighting for their survival is nothing new to the Jews who have faced much tougher foes.

This cunning, childish game is very familiar to me because my kids used to play it too. One of them would hit the other, and then they would get slugged in the face; then the one who started the fight would come cryin' to me as if they did nothing wrong.

I think it is time we learned something from these creeps:
*Re-write history.(palestine,Jesus was a muslim).
*Kick up a fuss if someone says something we don't like.(eg The Pope)
*Lie through our teeth whenever possible.(the koran allows it)
*Kill innocents whenever possible (because non-muslims are never innocent).Behead schools girls whenever.
* Never form legitmate armies so we can cry "they are killing our "civilians!" like hizbollah, hamas etc etc.
It's a good ploy!
* If you get caught out say your were misquoted and taken out of context. (hilaly, keysar trad).
Isn't it time to fight fire with fire??
They don't understand anything else!
I am sure I could keep going on and on,,,,

Yes, President "Tom" is nutjob, and yes they are hypocrites for being all weepy and whiney about anything the Israelis might do in defence against the obvious Iranian threat to them, but the fact of the matter is that they do it because they CAN. I mean, look at it from their point of view. They can publically announce on Iranian television that they want to destroy Israel, and that they'll use nukes against them, AND they know that the thugs and nutjobs who run the UN aren't going to do diddly about it.
So, what's so odd about them complaining about a possible attack from Israel (which will be in response to Iran's nuclear threat, and the Iranian's pledge to wipe Israel off the map)? The rest of the nutjobs in the world either pretend that Iran isn't threatening other nations with genocide, or they'll publically admit that they don't care about it. Obviously, Iran can have its cake and eat it too, as far as the UN is concerned.

Time to draw some conclusions.
Dismiss this guy as a nut job all you want if it makes you feel better. I'm far more focused on the increasingly triumphant and confident sounds coming from across the Muslim world today. Whether we're talking about Hamas, Hezbollah and Nazrallah, Ahmadinijad in Iran, the Saudis, or the Muslim infestation in America, Europe, and Russie, they are all clearly reveling in a new sense of increased momentum for Islam, and this is extremely ominous. The spread, all withing the last decade, of internet technology, and entire television empires focused on and directed towards augmenting and empowering the Jihad -- this all is contributing to making the monster confident, ambitions, and exponentially more dangerous than he was when he started planning things like 9/11 and such.
And of course we who read this site and others are completely dubious about their capacity/willingness to reform or change their current vicious trajectory. After all, why should they? They think they're winning, and quite easily, with their current tactics of double talk, out and out lies, and constant agitation towards violence, the promotion of hatred, and unfettered breeding.
This is where my observation becomes important -- The vibe which seems to be emerging across the Muslims world whethter it's in Riyadh, or Tehran, or Egypt, or Indonesia, or Pakistan, the vibe I percieve is that Muslims are happily indulging in becoming more radicalized and more prone to violence the longer it's permitted to go on...
We can stop them in their tracks, but it will take stunning violence, and a startling reversal of age old notions of our and their place in the world.
They are dragging us headlong into the darkest regions imaginable -- Islam thrives in this kind of world -- a world of fear, chaos, and ever expanding violence. Muslims know this -- they worship this -- it is a principal enshrined and sacralized in their Koran.
Baldly stated: We must begin significant push back against them soon. I'm talking about actions which will shatter their sense of global triumphalism and confidence. This will require brutal and extreme violence directed against them, especially in their myriad power centers.
Hopefully we'll take away from the Iraq war the notion that some cultures can't be reformed from without, and if they pose an existential threat against us, our position should be to hobble them, demoralize them, and hamper their health, wealth, and welfare in every way we can manage. We must not become embroiled in fixing the unfixable, or suffering the loss and grief from extending blood and treasure to help them.
Iraq started out to be just that. In it's wake we saw Qaddafi capitulate, and the Mullahs in Iran begin to quake. But this only lasted for a short time, and once they saw that we had been effectively lured into the killing zone, they all took full advantage of us in their age old time honored way of duplicitous treachery.
My conclusions:
Somewhere else I heard the fist phase of the Iraq war properly labelled: "Operation Arab Smackdown". That's extremely apropos. Shock and Awe DID WORK -- in fact, it worked BRILLIANTLY. So let it begin again, and let it not stop until the wind is siphoned from their sails. Let them fear for their survival and their existence. Let their intransigence and treachery be repaid, not with further sacrifice, not with further accommodations for Islam in the West, not with further generosity and suffering and helpless hoping on our part for something that will never come to pass from them.
Let us set about, without guilt or self recrimination, the shattering of the Islamic cancer forever. Whatever that takes, it should be done, and before they have a chance to harm us further than they already have grievously done. Islam must be stopped. We must do it before it's too late.

Gee Ramon, you keep on with this silly "Palestinian" stuff, even though I've shown you that it doesn't mean anything. "Palestine" is itself a term created by the Hebrews centuries ago. No such beast existed until a few generations ago. These creatures have no claim to anything, and the only reason other Islamists want them to suceed in killing Jews is because that's the Islamist way.
"(C)orruptor, thief, tyrant, occupier, terrorist and cancer" are better descriptors of your "prophet" and the "religion" he made up 1400 years ago.

The problem of Hugo Chavez is like so many others, made in Washington, more accurately made by the REpublicans, more accurately made by "conservatives".
Chavez was elected by his people as a populist, oil revenues were being siphoned off by U.S. oil companies and Venezuela was getting little or nothing..much the same problem in Iran circa 1953, where British Petroleum was raking off all of the oil profits.
Chavez promised to nationalize oil, that of course frightened American oil executives and stockholders, so they rattled their bought and paid for puppet a man whose name in Spanish is Arbusto.. So Arbusto let loose the dogs of war and tried to overthrow him with a coup, that failed, the people rose up and Chavez was reinstated.. but Arbusto hasn't let up, and tried again, failed and let Chavez know that he was going one way or another.
This same Arbusto has sold the farm on immigration, outsourcing, foreign trade and is now touring Asia selling the farm.. and America's prosperity.
Chavez is, like most folk, ignorant of Islam and does not feel threatened by Iran...however since Iran is an enemy of the U.S. Chavez has found it opportune to form an alliance with an enemy of his enemy.
Bottom line: To the degree that Chavez is a problem for us, thank Arbusto, the oil companies, the banks, the corporations....Venezuela is another example of greed (corporate and capitalist greed) causing problems. Where they don't sell the rope to hang themselves, they shoot themselves in the foot, and run around the world creating enemies out of natural allies, and allies out of enemies (China, Asia, etc)..but what the heck a lot of profit in Asia, cheap, cheap labor, means cheap imported products.. and high profits, also means unemployed Americans, trade deficits, and indentured servitude to China and Saudi Arabia who hold most of our debt..
