A point has been reached which I dreaded of and hoped would never happen but it did. In the UN 156 countries voted in favor of the resolution demanding Israel halt Gaza operations, seven objected and six abstained . All the European Union members supported the resolution

Now it must be clear that no Security Council meeting was asked for by any of the countries during the time more than 300 rockets were deliberately launched onto Israeli population centers killing more than 15 people from the time Israel completely left the Gaza last year. Only when Israel accidentally killed 19 Palestinians in response to Kassam rockets did the Security Council convene.

This is a watershed event because it shows that not only is the UN corrupt and irrelevant, but that the whole world apart from the US, Australia ,Israel and a few Pacific nations has gone hopping mad. The Gaza strip is a piece of land surrounded by militarily superior Israel who could put a stop to the Kassam launching in one day if Israel were to react the way England reacted by bombing German cities including Dresden after V1 and V2 rockets had been launched onto London . That all European countries voted in favor of this resolution shows a malaise of our present civilization which is profound and deeply disturbing. In fact, only anti-Semitism and not fear of Islamic violence can account for this mesmerized state of the world.

How does one go about trying to wake up some of the countries that are worth shaking away from this hypnotic trance?

Israel should summon each and every ambassador accredited in Israel whose representative in the UN voted for the resolution and demand of him or her to explain why the government of their country voted for a resolution condemning Israel for defending itself from rockets launched by the Palestinians, but never initiated a Security Council meeting or a General Assembly meeting to condemn the launching of Palestinian rockets into Israel in the first place . Of course, each summons should be accompanied by a corresponding release to the press corps.

Since there are some 110 foreign missions in Israel this would take a few weeks but would bring into focus the absurdity of this kind of vote at the UN. The news of, and the reason why each ambassador is being summoned to the Foreign Ministry, is precisely what is needed. There seems to be no way to fight this hypnotic trance among world nations except exposing it day in and day out until it sinks in among the general population of the respective countries (at least among the democracies) what their governments are involved in.

Will it work? Israel has no other choice but try and break this spell. The rest of the sane world will be grateful .

I don't know about that. The League of Nations was pretty damn useless when it came to preventing World War II. Although, it seems the Useless Nations isn't any better.

All the way with you. I think that countries that are completely secular should be allowed in the Useless Nations. The ones that subscribe to one religion should not be : and a monument or two of the minority (left remaining by chance) should not be an excuse to prove one's truly multicultural status. If the civilized nations allow the building of mosques and the savage practice of sawing off animals' heads, in the name of the required halal, then the arab states should allow the building (and restoration) of Churches, Synagogues, Temples, Gurudwaras, etc.

Can somebody explain to me why Jews and Americans are required to die in order to please the world? Other groups are allowed to avange real or imagined wrongs even if they occured hundred or even thousands of years ago. But Jew and Americans are supposed to ignore what ever happens to them and pretend it never happened or even welcome it happening. Can someone explain this to me. Until I came to this site I never really understood the so-called Arab-Israeli conflict. I tried but could not make sense of it.

Most Americans are practical. Americans would scratch their heads as they watched agreement after agreement blow-up (and even blow-up when Israel practically gave away the store in order to come to an understanding with Arafat).

The problem is Dar-al-Islam and other Muslim doctrines re Jews and other unbelievers. Jewish people must be dhimmis in Dar-al-Islam.

Many of the Israelis (probably 40% or more) are descendants of Jewish people from the Mideast who went to Israel to escape Arab oppression and to rule themselves in Israel. Yet many Muslims (the nut in Iran, e.g.) claim the reason Israel must be annihilated is because the Jewish people in Israel are interlopers from Hitler's Europe. However, the truth is that if every Jewish person in Israel today were only from the Mideast, the belief-system nuts would still want Israel annihilated. The issue is Dar-al-Islam. The issue is Muslim dogma.

Every culture at some level believes that it is superior to other cultures. I think that's true for all cultures. We all believe we are the best culture.

The latest Western-supremacist beliefs are the multicultural doctrines peddled by people such as Karen Armstrong, Esposito, etc. Such people want to make Muslim culture reflect their own "mosaic" belief-dogma prejudices. (People like Robert and Hugh are not going along with the program.)

We must discard these condescending "mosaic" views of other cultures and learn from them by recognizing their claims to supremacism and by appreciating claims to supremacism as being something that can tell us much about human nature. Islam has a supremacist point of view (as do other cultures, including the West). God bless all who like to think they are #1 (so long as they hurt anyone else or impose their beliefs on others).

When we all recognize our supremacist assumptions we will stop pointing fingers of blame and realize our common human bonds. This recognition, and the use of reason, will go a long way to healing wounds. We are all cultural supremacists. It's the nature of culture. It's human.

I have come to the conclusion the subtext issue here is that they and others are questioning the current Western-Supremacist belief-dogma of "multiculturalism". They are not buying this "mosaic" dogma. Robert and Hugh are really more appreciative of Muslim culture (and other cultures) by being willing to accept the supremacist claims of the cultures and being willing to study them.

I think their point of view is really the key to learning about other cultures and this "mosaic" nonsense interferes with a true appreciation of the beliefs of other culture-religions. It's the claims to supremacism that make Islamic and other cultures interesting. Armstrong-Esposito types are imposing a Western "multicultural" supremacism that interferes with reality re culture.

If my hunch is right that all cultures assert a supremacism then one of the current supremacist assertions of the West is probably "multiculturalism". That belief-dogma should be challenged by critical analysis.

The belief-dogma that culture-religion may be reduced to some part of a mosaic really is insulting to Muslim culture and other cultures. Muslims believe (in Saudi Arabia, etc.) that they are superior. That claim is interesting and should be studied to see what is good and bad about the claim via the use of reason, the use of critical analysis. The condescending multicultural doctorine that refuses to look at the supremacist nature of cultures reduces them to pieces of a mosaic. Multiculturalism is a current Western supremacist belief-dogma. It's not a fact.

It's a wonder that folks that question the dogma don't get burned at the stake. In an earlier age, they would get burned at the stake.

Mladen - excellent post. Israel should do exactly that, and with great fanfare.

This UN episode calls up all the vacuous European happenings described in Melanie Phillip's "Londonistan" - while she hammers mostly on Britian's death rattles, we see the same terminal sickness creeping all over Europe....and beginning to infect us.

The EU and the UN are left-wing kissing cousins. The world would be better off without either. John Bolton famously said once that you could cut off the top 10 stories of the UN building and never miss it.

Just cut out all of them and send those fools "working" there back to their home countries.

Euro countries that have any sense of self-preservation should get out of the EU, and all Western countries should get out of the UN. It is no longer relevant to us, and it could get us nuked with their endless appeasement.

The only tv show I have ever turned off in digust almost ready to vomit was a PBS UN documentary ( piece of UN self serving propoganda ) on Mr. Anan.
That his boy was involved in the bribery and theft of the Oil for Food Iraq program was sure swept under the rug within a day.
Tha amazing part is that the jews are being pushed against the wall to do something about Iran and its nuclear program and they focus on this.
The 2 bit third world countries well perhaps they are of little consequence or intelligence but the rest of the world .

The most amazing part of the documentary was a meeting in Scandinavia with parents of the soldiers who some time ago were kidnapped across the Lebanese border never to return.
One of they fathers pleaded with Mr. Anan.
His answer in his standard smiling , sing song lecturing tone was " I do what I can. Both parties have blood on their hands".
One problem here. The kidnappers came across the border with a UN vehicle , UN uniforms amd UN papers . It turned out that the UN had documentary evidence as well as videos and photos of the truck and they refused any assistance to the Isrealis in their investigation of any kind.

A real Christian would not get within a mile of this place, and would not hang out with those who enter.

Bushes secret plan, along with Canada and Mexico, to erase the borders and have a huge superstate, is Bush's contribution to the NWO. He will give away our country behind our backs. I am dismayed to read the postings re the so-called New World Order, Free Masonry, etc. and their supposed desire to "Rule the World!" This conspiracy theory crap has been going around since the publication of the "Elders of Zion" more than 100 years ago - long before the Bush Family "dynasy" was even a glimmer in some Bush matriarch's eye....

My father, admittedly, bought into it nearly 50 years ago, but, of course, with a totally different cast of characters - the WASP power base that ruled the world (policially & militarily) - after WWII, primary among whom were the NY bankers, incl. Rockefeller (David), and McCloy (JJ, FDR's personal choice to oversee the US interregnum in Germany). This dovetailed into the "real" reason for the War in Viet-Nam: control of the oil (yes, the modern-day "root of all evil") in the South China Sea!!

All of this is just to say that conspiracy theories are basically for the disempowered of this world, to try to explain why there are the haves & the have-nots, etc. There must be SOME conspiracy if the rich get rich & the poor get poorer, etc.

When you look at the Bush Family, it seems to me that Bush 41's father, Prescott, a long-time Congressman from CT, was not all that rich or powerful. But he did marry an heiress (I think), which may have been the source of a bit more $$ - but certainly not anywhere near like the vast amounts that the Rockefellers & Carnegies, etc., accumulated in the late 19th C. And even Bush 41 married into a family of means, if not great wealth. In fact, for very rich & powerful people, their homes in Kenneybunkport & Houston are not all that palatial.

I'm surprised that the Yale secret society, the Skull & Bones, was not mentioned as well. That, too, is an overblown myth of a snooty, but ultimately not-all-that-powerful group of Elis who mainly just entered the world of Wall Street, corporate America, high-ranking government, etc. and, for the most part, haven't been all that powerful. (You can google S & B to see all these so-called powerful evil-mongers, but don't be disappointed when few names are even worth looking up. Oh, yes, I would be remiss if I did not remind the gullible that both Bushes & John Kerry, among others, joined S & C as Yale undergrads.)

Finally, my late husband was a Mason - and very proud of the friendly & supportive fraternal associations he made during his retirement (when he joined a rather modest circle of Masons) and of the wonderful charitable & hospital contributions the organization (in America) has made & continues to make every year. Not much power-hunger & evil plotting seems to have transpired during their modest semi-monthly meetings. Maybe he was just not high enough on the secret society food chain to have been included...

Duh_swami - The Bible speaks of these times as a time of competition between a woman (identified as a nation called Mega Babylon) and the Beast. The Beast is identified in the Book of Daniel as an Islamic alliance. The woman rides (controls, directs, etc.) the beast, but the beast overthrows and tramples her. When this happens, a time of great trouble comes upon the world.

So, you don't have to worry about the NWO, the "beast" will triumph over them, but we're in for a rocky ride.

While many warnings exist from God Almighty about those who threaten or attack Israel or divide up the land that He, Himself, gave to this nation, one great example is Ezekiel 38 & 39 in the Old Testament, covering the future aggression of Gog & Magog, along with other countries. Even though the names given to these nations were ancient, author Mark Hitchcock along with others believe they have come up with the modern-day names as they exist today. This is because Muhammad obviously heard this being taught when he was near to the "people of the Book" and he employed this teaching straight out of Ezekiel 38 with a few changes convenient for his own needs & ego. Ezekiel 38:22 specifically states that God will destroy the invaders with disease & blood. However, while Muslims believe in the prophecy of Gog & Magog, they are selectively ignorant of the fact that the nations destroyed by God in Ezekiel 38 are the Muslim countries of today (with the exception of Russia).

Why isn't the United States mentioned in prophecy? Some believe that this nation -- once great because of God's high favor -- will be out of commission as a "world super-power" by that time. We have been kicking God out of our country for the last half-century and now treat the Name of Jesus Christ as if it were worse than the filthiest vulgar word so we are definitely more than past due for God to remove His Hand of protection & blessing from us.

I am just so DISGUSTED by the USA and the UN. If the United States had any intelligence left, it would pull out of the UN ... and take its financial support with it (as it is, we contribute the most money to this brain-dead organization). Somebody must be putting some 'stupid pills' in our drinking water because I don't know what has been happening lately with the blatant corruption & retardation that is spreading like an epidemic!

Joy...the truth about conspiracy theories...Not all conspiracy theories are theories, some of them are actualities. The NWO/globalists, operating through the CFR and Bilderburger Group, and others, are real people doing real manipulating on a grande scale. Sticking ones head in the sand and pretending these things dont exist, do not make them go away.

Thats just one example...there are others.
