"You on the far criminal right has tried to undermine academic freedom and intimidate scholars"

"Charles B. Hoff," not satisfied with having revoked my citizenship (as well as that of Jihad Watch Board Vice President "Huge" Fitzgerald) in an earlier email in which he claimed to be a "than born amererican," now accuses me (and Daniel Pipes) of "brown shirt tactic" and of trying to "intimidate scholars." It's ironic that I would receive this email today, when false charges about me by Edina Lekovic and Hamid Mir are circulating. Just who is attempting to do any silencing and intimidating?

I than reading the Islamic Horizons about you and your frllow criminal racist rightwinger attack the academic community so it doesnot challenge your bias veiw of Islam and your illegal smear attack on Islam. You on the far criminal right has tried to undermine academic freedom and intimidate scholars. Daiel Pipes the neo-nazie thought Camus Watch an racist smear organization devoted to smearing profesors who criticize American foreign policy and Tel Aviv's mistreatment of the Palestinians people and the stealing of they land, is nowseeking to intimidate free thinking on the middle east and siencing any views that challenge those of the racist criminal far right by use brown shirt tactic.

"Camus Watch."

Islamic Horizons is a publication of the Islamic Society of North America. If anyone has seen the hit piece to which "Hoff" refers, please send it to me.

This is funny. I was puzzling over the connection between Daniel Pipes, Camus and Islam. I finally did an internet search on "Camus Watch" and it asked me, "Did you mean: 'campus watch'". Okay, now I get it.

Please wont somebody think of the children and remove the keyboard from this Moron!!!!!

Hey Charles, "It a not raining here also" (stolen without shame from T Hancock's Radio Ham)

Now go away and learn the language Dick, lest us non Islamics come and Revoke your citizenship as "america like me donot want your criminal kind here anymore." (sound's familiar Bud?)

You "criminality racist" (getting the bigger picture now?) are held in the utmost contempt for abusing the English Language

"I as than born amererican" (I'm not I'm English but its fun to rip the piss out of such a cretin) anyway where was I? Oh yes "I as than born amererican" wish you to round up your fellow adherents and leave the planet, not just America or Britain, but the world, in fact the universe as soon as possible

Because "you and your frllow criminal racist rightwinger attack the "Non Islamic "community" (I paraphrased that a little I confess) a little too much

And "You on the far criminal right has tried to undermine academic freedom and intimidate scholars" (Incredible really that this sums up Islam so well , Charles just add Islamic before "far right criminals" and you should be on the Home Straight)

Because you and your Islamic Buddies "is nowseeking to intimidate free thinking on the middle east and siencing any views"

I hope we are speaking the same language now....;-D

This guy tried revoking Robert Spencer's citizenship-he must be with immigration. No wonder we're in a hell of a mess!

Idiots are like women… They come in all sizes, shapes, colors and attitudes. This one of course, has a ‘than’ problem.

I too chased the Internet seeking to find if he has posted anything on merit, and the answer came back NO.

It seems that he’s been exposed to the “Leftist Education System” which parades as a university or community college these days.

To sum up Charles B Hoff, he is:
Pro Left, Anti-Right
Pro Palestinian, Anti-Israel
Pro Islam, Anti-JihadWatch

How about a one-way ticket to Iran, Mr. Hoff?

Spellchecker software must be unavailable to Muslims, or I suppose the use of modern tools only goes as far as being able to sling hate faster -- it doesn't need to be coherent, after all, we can't possibly understand the real meaning if it isn't in Arabic anyway, right?

Re: "You on the far criminal right has tried to undermine academic freedom and intimidate scholars"

This is classic projection. This belief-system is a mental illness. I'm getting feel like Mike Savage "I can't take it anymore".

"Charles B. Hoff":

"Chuck Hoff".

Get it.

Ooh, what a sense of humour. He's a born Amerikee - I mean, "Amererican".

"Camus Watch"
-- from the illiterate remarks above

Sniffing, though camus-nosed with therefore flattened nostrils (like the Miller in The Reeve's Tale), a glass of Meursault from the latest vintage of the very best Algerian vineyards (planted, bien sur, by the industrious French, not the indolent Arabs). Watching the beaches of Oran for signs of Pepe-le-Moko's distraught and discarded moll, to be picked up and then released, in a police dragnet, drague-net, drogue-net. Just a few snapshots of the boy from Belcourt who pitied the Berber poor of the Kabyle, did not favor the Germans of Paris, 1941, was not taken in by nonsense about the wonderful Arabs and their cause, in Algeria or elsewhere, and tried to remain his own man, rather than one more Man of the Left with the furor scribendi of Saint Germain and the Cafe Flore. Finally figuring out, long before thyroid-eyed Sartre ever gave a hint of doing, that there was a price to pay, that deserved to be paid, with only its exact amount, and who should do the paying and who receive the payment, still to be determined by the fates or the furies, for every single one of those celebrated or unsung actes gratuits.

SORRY,
I just can't help myself... But that would be very mislabeled Chardonnay!

For it to be a "Meursault" It would have to come from a tiny strip in land South of Beaune, in the Burgundy region of France!

Geoff -

You got me rolling on the floor with that one !

Posted by: Supermaxx [TypeKey Profile Page] at November 21, 2006 5:33 PM

Besides the blatantly obvious projection this poor soul appears to suffer (common to those whose position are so baseless, so without foundation that they cannot withstand scrutiny, thus they are more insecure than they are willing to admit), said person gives away a few clues.
They failed to stop and cool down first before going off half-cocked on such a diatribe. This suggests the point made above.
Such a position tends to affect their self-control, thus, the typos...not to mention the awful syntax (reminds me of a game my youngest kid plays that uttered: "All your bases are belong to us"- google it for the gif; it's funny)

Quite simply put, looks like the host hit a raw nerve that respondent couldn't handle. It all boils down to the simple point...truth withstands scrutiny and can stand on its own.

This is why those of us who can see it for what it is conclude the ranters position is weak, afraid of scrutiny, and could very well be false.
Regardless of your politics, position or what have you, this is how such shilling comes off. This person appears terrified that something, perhaps a truth, may emerge which would shatter his belief.

It would certainly explain such a vociferous reaction that extends way beyond what rational people would rationally expect. Like the old saying goes:
"It is far easier for civilized people to act as barbarians, than for barbarians to act as civilized people."
I expect little else from such people who utter such things like (summarized message) "I am peaceful! Believe it or I'll kill you!" and expect us to accept it without reservation.

THAT is malignant narcissism at its worst. ;-)
Consider the source.

Re: the debate on OReilly.

What strikes me, and angers me Robert is that regardless of the venue (Oreilly or Glenn Beck) if it is on TV you are not given the time you need to fully respond, and in the Oreilly case.. your comments were the last on that episode and partly covered up by Laura's need to sign off and of course the sign off music...

What you need to do is bargain for being on first, not last or in the middle, but first, so you have enough time to engage in a proper debate.. not forced to hurry an answer.

Actually the producers of Oreilly didn't do you or the anti Jihad cause any favors..and a case can be made that they hurt, in as much as that moron convert got her say in.

BTW, isn't Edina Lekovic a Slavic name, a Serb? Haven't these people any historical memory of how the Slavs suffered under the rule of "benevolent Islam"..I'd like to see her in a discussion with Serge Trifkovic..on that subject.

You cannot possibly expect Camus to rename and, what’s still more of an imposition, do it d'outre-tombe, his protagonist, and to now call him M. Chardonnay, just because you're still stuck on the grands crus classifications of yesteryear and the imperfectly updated appellations controles of a French government one normally deplores for other reasons. Surely you cannot ask me to turn a likely though not inevitable red into a definite white (I'm willing to do that only in Russia, circa 1919, or Berkeley, circa 1968), a white what's more of no fixed abode, as the Californians and the Australians will maintain no matter how noisily French vintners will insist otherwise.

No, definitely not. There must be no substitute accepted for Meursault, and don’t assume that the wine in question must be from grapes grown in Algerian vineyards circa 1940 (so that the wine is ready to be drunk a half-dozen years later, in time for the book party at Gallimard); it might have been imported into Algeria from metropolitan France.

Remember what the aging roue and Wine Spectator-subscriber-avant-la-lettre said about his latest visit to gay Paree: "I can't remember the name of the hotel. I can't even remember the name of the girl. But the wine was Chambertin."

For that rapid summing up in a short paragraph of the vita, morte, e miracoli of Albert Camus, the wine had to be called Meursault. And given his last vacation reading-list made public urbi et orbi, even George Bush would have known why. The name, you see, was presented to me by Camus himself, on a platter, or rather on a narrative tray, with two burgundy glasses and possibly some canapés.

Care to join me? Or would you prefer the Chambertin kept for special occasions?

Hugh,
Gevrey... a Morey St. Denis, Chambolle-Musigny all very good reds. Me - I prefer the Rhone's, Chateauneuf and Hermitage wines to those wimpy thin, over priced Cote de Nuits...

When it comes to whites, I prefer the 'les Champs Gain, Chassagne-Montrachet or a Les Clos Chablis...

I'd love to raise a glass of wine, toast with You and Robert. Cellar is full... I am looking for a reason to open a 3 Liter of Domaine de Vieux Telegraphe.

The Idaho, Oregon, and Washington state wines can sure rival those of France... The of course I really could just gush over the Super Tuscan's...

Peace Brother -
Happy Thanksgiving to ALL, I'm off to shoot Pheasants.

Considering it's the far left that's been undermining speech and freedom on college campuses these days, it's a rich bit of irony for them to accuse the right of doing so.

Posted by: aynrandgirl [TypeKey Profile Page] at November 21, 2006 7:22 PM

In a collection of letters to and from Camus which I have read, it appears that Camus tried to strike a middle ground, and in doing so seemed to reach overfar toward an equivalency between the French and the Muslims, decrying the methods of both in roughly equivalent terms.

Knight Hawk--

Suddenly we have become fast friends. Your cellar is "full." My cellar is bare, or in fact non-existent. Remember that nursery song that hasn't lost its appeal or its relevance? The one that goes "Chirstmas is coming/The goose is getting fat./Please to put a penny in an old man's hat" and "if you haven't got a penny, a ha'penny will do/And if you haven't got a ha'penny" -- we interrupt this song for a personal Christmas appeal -- bottles or even a case of Pauillac or Gaja Barbaresco or anything with the words Musigny or Montrachet in the appellation would be most welcome round about December 24-January 6 and you can send an email to me via Robert for more details, and now back to our regularly scheduled program of this evening's Musical Hour -- "then God bless you."

In his otherwise articulate and insightful analysis of world affairs, Mr. Hoff has misspelled the capital of Israel as Tel Aviv rather than its correct spelling, Jerusalem.

A whole lot of people have trouble with the correct spelling. They should do more studying. That final exam may be coming sooner than they think.

Usually I am loathe to comment on someone's poor grasp of the language. (It is only the good manners of assorted tourists and grad students over the years that have kept them from laughing at my grammatically-challenged German).

Still--I think I will make an exception in this case. My favorite was "Camus Watch"--yes, I'm certainly feeling a sense of the absurd here, even without reading Albert's works. And I really must wonder about the reference to "Huge" Fitzgerald--perhaps an unconcious sense of inferiority?

If Hoff really is a "than born amererican" then the schools are in worse shape than even I imagined.

Heck even I can't produce something so rambling and pointless even when I am drunk as a skunk. It is clear he wrote that in an utter rage toward Mr. Spencer and just sent it OR he was on the fire water.

Posted by: greatcometof1577 [TypeKey Profile Page] at November 21, 2006 11:49 PM

"Camus Watch"

Perhaps you are right Mr. Spencer that he thinks you are trying to stop Albert Camus despite the fact he died in 1960 and his followers if they exist are no doubt attempting world wide conquest.

I think he could have also meant CAMUS International (http://www.camus.org) which according to their website..

"The purpose of CAMUS is to provide a forum for companies using manufacturing computer applications to exchange and share information through educational conferences, to establish mutual support and peer contacts, and to influence the direction of development activities, products, policies, and services of related vendors in the interest of all members."

A real threat to western civilization! Mr. Spencer we shall help you in your effort to prevent "peer contacts" and "manufacturing computer applications to exchange and share information through educational conferences"

We are with you!!!!!!!!!!!

Good comedy this, laughing at someones illiteracy. Makes us feel good an superior, don't it? I especially like the bit about the French being industrious. Very funny.

Posted by: FREE LEE [TypeKey Profile Page] at November 22, 2006 3:16 AM

you know, the 35 hour working week, and an attempt to impose it on everyone else, because, mon dieu! how on earth are they expected to compete? Yes, Very droll!

And thanks for the insight. Nice to know that the Arab is indolent. What else? Does he wear a tea towel and say durka durka?

Posted by: FREE LEE [TypeKey Profile Page] at November 22, 2006 3:51 AM

First - TROLL ALERT - Free Lee has no idea how silly he or she sounds with those comments.

Second, your friend Charles is pretending to be illiterate. Those errors are deliberate so that you will not guess at the true identity of the writer. Anyway, he is pathetic.

Third, when it comes to wine, there is nothing better than a good Australian white or red. We have some excellent boutique wines here in NSW. Our trip to Mudgee in May was a real success as far as restocking the supply of wines was concerned.

Personally, I love a German white such as Blue Nun and I am rather partial to the whites. One of the best that I tasted was from the Van Ghent vineyard.

Posted by: Maggie4Life [TypeKey Profile Page] at November 22, 2006 4:40 AM

I sound silly do I? Don't you like that?

Well I don't like it when people use insult over argument. And I don't like it when people come out with blanket negative generalisation about a set of people identified by their race. You can have Arab Christians, and you can have Arab Jews. And you can have Arab Muslims. Is it just the Muslims who are lazy and shiftless, or is it all of them?

And then, in the next breath, we have an attempt to make an assertion by favourable comparison about another set of peoples (identified by a nationality - so not the same thing) that just doesn't ring true in the experience of a lot of people in Briton who find that they cannot work as long as they like per week because the Industrious Ones (the French) have fixed the market so that they can keep all their holidays, and they can throw away all that wine you love to drink.

It's not silly. It pisses a lot of people off, actually. People who don't have the protection of their government (as they shouldn't) have to compete for thir jobs. It's a deadly serious business. Deadly. And saying that the French are superior to the Arab by dint of their industriousness is an insult and a total joke - a total not very funny joke.
