Two in Houston charged with planning to fund, fight with Taliban

Texas Taliban. "Local men accused of conspiring to help terrorists," from KHOU:

Two Houston men have been charged with planning to aid the Taliban, U.S. Attorney Don DeGabrielle announced Tuesday.
Adnan Babar Mirza, 29 and 33-year-old Kobie Diallo Williams, also known as Abdul Kabeer and Abdul Kabir, are both in federal custody.
Williams, a University of Houston student, pleaded guilty Tuesday. Mirza hasn't entered a plea.
Both men are accused of training with firearms so they could go to the Middle East to fight with the Taliban against coalition forces in the Middle East. They're also charged with providing cash to support terrorist groups.
In addition, Mirza is charged with three violations of federal firearms law.
To hone their skills in anticipation for battlefield jihad, the indictment alleges, Williams and Mirza agreed to train with firearms at various locations located in Harris and surrounding counties.
“While these subjects did not operate at a high level of sophistication in comparison with the 9-11 hijackers, the expressed goal was to aid the Taliban by training to carry out jihad against coalition troops in the Middle East,” said Roderick Beverly, the head of the FBI’s local office.
[...]
According to allegations in the indictment, Williams and Mirza, a citizen of Pakistan who entered the United States on a student visa on Aug. 15, 2001, allegedly viewed the United States and coalition military forces on the ground in Afghanistan and Iraq as invaders. In April 2005, they agreed that they should travel to the Middle East to fight with the Taliban to engage in battlefield jihad.
On at least eight occasions between May 20, 2005, and June 17, 2006, the men engaged in firearms training, and at times in reconnaissance training.
As part of and during the alleged conspiracy, Williams and Mirza are accused of agreeing to offer financial support to Taliban fighters and their families.
Federal law prohibits contributions of goods or services to the Taliban.
As a student visa holder, Mirza is prohibited from possessing firearms. Furthermore, once his student visa expired on Dec.12, 2005, Mirza’s status changed to that of being illegally in the United States. Illegal aliens are also prohibited from possessing firearms.
The indictment charges Mirza in three counts of unlawfully possessing firearms during three firearms training sessions occurring in May 2005, March 2006 and May 2006.
If convicted of the conspiracy charge, Williams and Mirza face a maximum punishment of five years imprisonment, a fine of $250,000 and three years supervised release.
Each of the three firearms alleged against Mirza in Counts Two through Four carry a maximum penalty of 10 years imprisonment, a fine of $250,000 and three years supervised release, upon conviction.

Here it comes!

Pakistan Openly Urges NATO to Surrender Afghanistan to the Taliban

Was there ever any doubt that these wolves in sheep's clothing would do this? Was there ever question of whose side they're really on?

"Of course we're on the side that opposes terror -- that means the Taliban side, of course"

When Islamists claim to oppose terror and to be supportive of the war on terrorism, they have a totally different picture in their heads than the rest of us. They mean they support the Taliban "freedom fighters" against the Western "terrorists".

They just mean double-speak, any chance they can get.

wouldn't it be nice to see (or help make) some commemoration of Charlie Hammer's victory?

2 want to be taliban playing with guns and trying to learn on their own to be soldiers (lay on the floor in laughter), I trained as an infantry man and a Highland Regiment and it took or six months to complete my training, and these two clowns where trying to do it do on their ownthe government should have let themgo over to Afghanistan they would have been a bigger danger to Islamic forces. Unfortunately students of university age do not have seen to learn to think yet, and and in the boyscase and to certain extent some of the girls are thinking more their hormones unless with their brains.

I saw a post where a Swede had his house surrounded by 300 moslems - YES this was in SWEDEN!!! - simply becuase he objected to the blaring loudspeakers they have on a mosk near his house. The fact they can even get permission to put thse loud speakers on there and disrupt the lives of the NATIVE SWEDES is an abomination!

GIA

I do not know where you read that post,if it was here or on the Swedish Forum FOMI nu

You got the facts a little bit wrong,so please allow me to correct you.

The incident did not happen in Sweden, but in East Java Indonesia in 1998,and the person was not Swedish.

It was me,as I have been posting on some Swedish forums, and I did mention this rather scary incident,I have also mentioned it here on JW/DW

What started it all was I became pissed off with be woken up at 4.00 every morning

From an earlier post on this forum

"Well Thomas It so happens I live in Indonesia, and a lot of the time I am traveling into the small towns and villages.I have for the last 7 yrs mingled with Muslims on the streets and in the rice paddies.Daily I mix with muslins who do not know the art of Taquiyah, you cannot discuss with these people, you say one word against Islam, they will cut your head off.I have even had 300 Muslim outside my house, threatening to kill me and burn my house down, just because I asked them to turn their speaker down when calling for prayer at 3 o,clock in the morning

http://www.jihadwatch.org/archives/006235.php

From the Swedish forum

The day that opened my eyes for the Truth Passed a long time ago, when I saw Churches being burnt in Situbonbo, when i saw riot after friday prayers in Jember, when I had 300 moslems outside my house, with the intent to burn it down with me insde, when 10 friends(moslem) where blown to pieces in the Bali Bombing
My eyes where opened when I was invited to a wedding where the girl was only 10,and the husband was 26.when I see 12 year old mothers, and 30 year old grandmothers.
My eyes where opened when a chinese friend had his mother, wife and 11 year old daughter raped, murdered, and then burnt
My eyes where opened when i asked myself WHYwhy are muslims doing these things, and to find out I looked at the Un-,holy scriptures
THATS WHEN MY EYES REALLY OPENED

And another comment at FOMI which has been removed

A few years back, one morning,at about 3am I went to the mosque that was about 25 meters to where I was living and asked them, politely,if they could turn there speakers down.
The next evening there where moslem 300 ouside my house, with the intention of burning it down, and of liberating my head from my body.

The way things are going in many places in Europe.this could very well happen

"Local men accused of conspiring to help terrorists,"...these type of statements really
rankle.
These people are not remotely local, they belong
to an alien culture and creed and might as well
have come from another galaxy.

Looks like the score is one illegal alien Jihadist Pakistani and one Jihadist American black Muslim

Kobie Diallo Williams.......

FWIW the Amadou Diallo http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amadou_Diallo who was killed by NYC police was a phony asylum seeker. He fabricated a legend out of whole cloth to gain entry----->>>>

Diallo's Tale Raises the Bar for Refugees

By CLYDE HABERMAN

The New York Times, April 9, 1999

In death, Amadou Diallo has become an important symbol on several fronts, but one is not much to brag about. He was -- and there is really no polite way to say it -- an immigration cheat. When you talk to immigration lawyers, you realize that in filing a fraudulent claim to political asylum, he did no favor for foreigners genuinely in need of a haven from oppression. "A case like this," said one experienced lawyer, who insisted on anonymity to avoid any whiff of trouble for her clients, "can make it much more difficult for people who are true asylum-seekers." Her point was fleshed out by John Assadi, another New York lawyer specializing in these matters. "Every time you have a high-profile negative case like this," he said, "there's a perception among everyone involved that the next guy may be lying."

Mind you, nothing about Diallo's bogus search for asylum seems likely to affect the central questions about police performance that have arisen since he was shot 19 times on Feb. 4 by officers of the Street Crime Unit. Nonetheless, his blatant falsehoods to the Immigration and Naturalization Service are not easily shrugged off by some advocates for refuge-seekers. Even with no evidence yet of anyone being caught in a bureaucratic backlash since Diallo's asylum situation became known in mid-March, the advocates worry that anti-immigration forces have been handed free ammunition. Diallo, 22 at his death, came here from Guinea, in West Africa. He had a legitimate visa to work or study, which had been due to expire this month. Apparently hoping to stick around longer, he filed an asylum claim with the I.N.S. It turned him down. He then went before a judge working under the aegis of the Executive Office for Immigration Review, a branch of the Justice Department. This time, he pushed all the right buttons. He was from Mauritania, Diallo said. That was a good choice for the man from a prosperous family in Guinea.

Mauritania is considered a disaster area by human-rights groups: a bastion of slavery, they say, where the dominant light-skinned Moors have rounded up black citizens, stripped them of their papers and property and deported them. He was a victim of "ethnic cleansing," Diallo said in a sworn deposition, asserting that Mauritanian soldiers killed his parents and made prisoners of him and an uncle, who later died of torture. "They beat us with sticks, tied us and dragged us to their trucks and took us to the military camp," he said. After "two cruel weeks," he was taken at gunpoint to Senegal, and from there made his way to the United States. The entire story was untrue. Among other things, Diallo's parents are alive and highly visible these days in New York.

But he told his tale well enough to convince an immigration judge, though the I.N.S. was appealing the decision when Diallo was killed. "This is somebody who took a system to help people who truly need help, and just scammed it," one official said. How widespread is this kind of fraud? Not very, lawyers for asylum-seekers contend. More than the advocates may care to admit, Government officials respond. "People come here from very desperate circumstances, and they will do anything to survive," said Richard L. Kenney, a spokesman for the immigration review office. "It's human nature. And the more resourceful find ways to tell the better story.

There are a lot of people coming from China, and they all know what to say: they're fleeing the one-child-per-couple rule." It is no secret that the national mood toward illegal immigrants is hardly a smile button. Last year, the review office disposed of 231,194 cases, and in 200,261, or 87 percent of them, people were deported or left the country voluntarily. And Diallo's use of Mauritania underlined a particularly thorny problem. He had no documents to back up his claims. But many genuine asylum-seekers from that country also arrive without papers. A similar situation is unfolding with the refugees from Kosovo, who have been systematically stripped of proof of identity. So what may well be the result of the Diallo affair? "I imagine lawyers representing people from Mauritania are finding themselves more closely scrutinized," said Kerry Bretz, an immigration lawyer in Manhattan who used to work for the I.N.S. "After a case like this, antennae go up."

Maybe they should have let tweedledee and tweedledum sign up with the Taliban. That way, their dumb asses would have been shot up in Talibanistan. Instead, the taxpayers get to support these two parasites in jail. Such a waste.

Folks, this is my hometown. Since the 80s, we have really become a 'multicultural' mecca. The climate here is as close as you can get to the Indian shoreline, while still staying in a nice part of the world. Nice and hot, very humid, mild winters. Same as SE Asia, btw... Sometimes, I feel like this is barely Texas any more.

What you may not see, unless you watch the whole story on channel 2 (http://www.click2houston.com) is that they interview some random neighbor, who states that she cannot tell terrorists from non-terrorists. I almost fell out of my seat. The guy LOOKS LIKE A MOO-SLIM, big beard and all.

Hello! Have we become so blind that 'profiling' has actually affected our eyesight?

Black Dog-
I know what you're talking about. I'm up here in the Caliphate of Minnesota. This is not the Minnesota I expected-plenty of Somalis here-and the climate here is as far removed from their ummah as possible. Isn't diversity wonderful?

More of this story has come out, and the nice folks at Lone Star Times wrote the following article on it: http://lonestartimes.com/2006/11/29/he-liked-puppies-and-sunshine-and-lollipops/

The scary part is the note on the mosque they attended, and its happy-brand of wahabbism.

Thanks for the info on the ties to Masjid el-Farouq mosque. I was just about to hold the University of Houston responsible as it was the only organization listed as a connection.

Houston has a much bigger problem with terrorists than this article lets on. Since no one in the media can connect the dots, this is not the first nor the last terrorist training camp/plot on our soil. Check out Lodi, Portland, Lackawanna, Buffalo, Virginia Jihad Network to name a few.

From the article: Illegal aliens are also prohibited from possessing firearms.

Am I the only one troubled by this fact? Not by what it says, but by what it implies: legal aliens (e.g. greencard holders) are allowed to possess firearms in the USA. I'm a huge proponent of the Second Amendment, but this has been a been a source of frustration for me over the years. With all the gun control regulation, which I hate, we still allow non-citizens to own guns in the USA. Why is that?

Citizens? Absolutely! Read the Constitution for what it says and throw out half the stupid gun-control regulation. Non-citizens, however? Absolutely not!
