Sudan Jihad and "peace accords" Update. "Darfur leader says Janjaweed attacking key town," by Mohammed Hasni for AFP:
KHARTOUM (AFP) - Pro-government Sudanese militias are attacking the key Darfur town of El-Fasher, a former rebel leader allied with Khartoum said, threatening to quit the government if the assault was not halted.
Even as I am talking to you, we are facing a Janjaweed attack on El-Fasher's cattle market," Sudan Liberation Movement (SLM) chief Minni Minnawi told a press conference in Khartoum.
"The situation is critical," said Minnawi, who signed a peace agreement in May with President Omar al-Beshir's ruling National Congress Party (NCP) and was subsequently appointed as his adviser.
Two other rebel factions rejected the deal however while pro-government forces and their allied Janjaweed militia continued their attacks in Darfur, a vast western region devastated by almost four years of conflict and famine.
[...]
An angry Minnawi, talking to reporters at his Khartoum residence and circled by armed SLM members, said no casualty toll was available yet but added that the Janjaweed "were looting shops and committing exactions".
He claimed the fact that the militia were well-armed and using good vehicles was proof the Janjaweed raid was supported by Beshir's NCP. "Who is financing and supplying the Janjaweed? Certainly not us," he said.
The young former rebel leader claimed "only three percent of the peace agreement has been implemented so far" and that Janjaweed militia have rased no less than 48 Darfur villages since the peace deal was signed in Abuja.

And how is the Truce Treaty in the southern Sudan holding up? What is the government of the Sudan doing there, when it thinks no one is looking? What is it doing to southerners resident in Khartoum?

Hugh,
How is any "peace treaty" with islamaniacs holding up? One could begin a long list of countries, starting with Israel.
Wherever these miscreants get some kind of foothold the whole place is on its way down the drain.
Lebanon, Thailand, many parts of Africa,,,,,and the West is heading the same way.

"...and that Janjaweed militia have rased no less than 48 Darfur villages..."
This is carrying the Anglophonic zedophobia a bit too far.

Carrying on the Mohammedian ideal in the 21st century: attack, murder, rape, plunder and divide the booty...and make and break a treaty as needed.

The Janjaweed seems aptly named. These "weeds" are
strangling Sudan with Islam and should be treated like any other weed-pull them out by the roots. Fat chance on that happeneing- nobody gives much of a damn since it's not as "sexy" as Iraq, Talibanistan or the palestinians. If the West quit wasting money on the palestinians and spent it fighting the Janjaweeds and the Somalis a lot more people would benefit.

Because it's in Africa, there is no urgency in what ever the UN is doing. African countries have not finished containing their own problems, talk less of helping out in other African nation.
The reality is more gruesome than what we see on the pages of the papers. People are dying. Islamists cannot keep peace accords with the people they call infidels.
The earlier the UN Peace Keepers arrive to Sudan, the better for the helpless victims of islamic oppression.
Just imagine the nonsense argument of President Omar and Libyan's Gaddaffi, that 'UN Peace Keepers amounts to colonialism' The minute the eyes of the world focuses on somewhere else, they continue their crimes.
like Hugh asked "What is the government of the Sudan doing there, when it thinks no one is looking? What is it doing to southerners resident in Khartoum?"

Last sunday I saw Robert on CSpan doing Q/A on Islam. His talk preceeded another (expert) who looked foolish and uneducated on the subject by comparison. I really like the thoughtfull insights into Islamic reformation very intelligent and witty too! Anyways I bought your book and am going to buy it as christmas presents for all my iliberal friends and family. Keep up the great work. We will save our civilization one mind at a time. What is happening in Darfur is a perfect example of what Islam is all about in my opinion. So simple listen to Robert, read and see for your own eyes, then imagine it is your family on the Jihad chop chop chopping block. If the world can not see Darfur and extrapolate then I do not know what other examples it will need. It really does cause me a great deal of frustration when guys like Mohammad Omert can get on Cspan and spew thier propaganda to cheers from an audience of usefull idiots. When really what he all others like him are about is doing to Israel and the jews what they are doing in Darfur, only the Jews can defend themselves oh booo hoo! To freakin bad!

Could be. If so, someone needs to spray some DDT on it.

As I understand the Darfur situ the arab muslims are killing the black muslims correct?
And not one country (muslim or western) is trying to help stop this.
Forgive me but all I know about this is what I have read from that Kristof guy from the NY times and President Bush calling it a genocide.
No one else is talking about it in the media. Why?

Correct. The western countries are being held up (again) by the UN and the Arab Muslims are a little embarrased by the "racial" genocide. It seems black African muslims are not real muslims in the sense of OBL especially when they refuse to bow to the imposed Sharia of the Islamist government. They are really apostates. Kill them all like the Christians and polytheists in the South!!! Apostate=death (Sharia)

“No one else is talking about it in the media. Why?”
How about France? No one is talking about France either. It’s just disenfranchised “Youths,” they just need more help.
How about the south of Thailand? Nope. No one cares about murdered Infidel teachers right?
How about Sweden? Not here either, they can live with their rape gangs. No big.
Fear. Fear of losing one’s job, reputation, or “credibility.” Fear of being called a bigot, Islamophobe, or racist. Fear of being singled out, retaliated against, or killed. This should be the most controversial, most watched and read story of the last fifty years but none of it will ever see the light of day until “it” happens. Why? Fear.
And then there’s the money, lots of money supporting this death cult nightmare. Of course that’s not reported either, for obvious reasons.

one flight of B1 bombers and stealth fighters making a bombing run over Sudan, you help to end the slaughter of innocents by the Arabs.

Don't worry folks-the West WILL talk about it. When about a million or more people are dead at the hands of the Islamaniacs then we will hear ceaselessly about it-"How could it happen"? "Why wasn't this stopped"?, blah blah blah. There will be righteous indignation-just like with Rwanda-but it won't help the dead one bit as Illah chalks up yet another glorious victory.
It's not surprising-Western "leaders" refuse to do anything about this menace in their own countries so they really could care less about the bloody progress that menace makes in places like Africa and Asia.

Briars, so they're being killed because they don't want to submit to sharia law?
What are there differences on that? Are arbs overtaking african land or just law?
This is very depressing.
I don't know how the world can let this continue.
These arabs are inhuman.
First religious intolerance and now racial intolerance. What next?
Butterfly, I don't know how France or Sweden relates to thousands or hundreds of thousands of people being killed in Darfur?
I hear a lot more about tensions between people in those countries than I do about Darfur though.
I wish Pres. Bush would do what you suggest Texican. Can you enlighten me on why you think he hasn't or won't?
at December 5, 2006 11:38 PM
I see it all as part of the global jihad pattyb. Unless things change, in a few decades, France will be in the same boat as Darfur and no one will do anything about it, again.
To acknowledge the jihad in Darfur the world would have to name the enemy, and then truly fight it as if its survival depended on it, which it does. But no, fear rules. Fear of the fight, fear of jihad, fear of war.
Islam will cross the line one day and fear will be cast aside, replaced with righteous anger. Enraged kuffar, by the millions, repaying in kind and scope. I hope I’m not around to see it.
