Is this edict only regarding Muslims, or does it apply to EVERYONE? Yes, RAGE told the AP "As Muslims we should practice Islam fully, not in part, and that is what our religion enjoins us to do;" however, it says that "residents" of this town are subjected to it, not just "Muslim residents." It seems to me that this is a "no-compunction-to-Islam" story too, not just a "nutty, radical edict imposed upon Muslims" story.

Sorry, OT. A follow-up to the end of the most recent Lebanese-Israeli battle. Remember the two captured Israeli soldiers? Olmert claims they are possibly dead.

But what I want to comment on is at the end of the article:

In the war triggered by the capture of the soldiers, more than 1,000 people were killed on both sides, according to the U.N. and Israeli and Lebanese officials. Lebanon says most of those killed were civilians. Israel claims 800 Hezbollah fighters were killed, though that figure was not substantiated. On the Israeli side, 159 people were killed, including 39 soldiers.

Alot of numbers there, but not much clarity about what happened, other than "people were killed on both sides".

Let's do some quick math. 1000 people killed total, 159 were Israeli. So, that leaves 841 Lebanese. 800 of the 841 Lebanese killed were Hezbollah fighters, which means 95% accuracy, or 5% collatoral damage.

On the other side, of the 159 Israelis killed, 39 were soldiers, meaning 25% accuracy or 75% collatoral damage.

The Lebanese killed 75% civilians, the Israelis 5%, and Israel was the one being criticized for (cough cough) targeting civilians.

The AP story doesn't say so, but I'll bet my lunch money that the original edict is replete with Qur'anic quotations to justify it. Sheik Rage (heh) doesn't come up with this stuff on his own; he is only doing what Allah demands of all Muslims.

Well, if that happens, then who'll make sure that the goons who are suppposed to "ensure compliance" are making sure that THEY comply? AND, even if they install video equipment everywhere to ensure compliance, then it will mean that the folks monitoring everyone AREN'T COMPLYING!

Any way you look at it, for them to make sure that "everyone" is complying to this stupid edict, it means that at least SOMEBODY ISN'T COMPLYING! It's enough to make your head explode!

There have been instances where Muslims have invaded mosques and killed other Muslims while they were praying.

THis is a religion that will kill you for not praying, but will also kill you if you do pray.

Just recently in Iraq Muslims were killed by Muslims as they left the mosque after praying.

In Islam just how do you safely pray and just what do you pray for.

If you decide to leave the religion you will be killed.

I is somebody telling me that they are misinterpreting islam and the koran? Thank God for all these who are giving us the main interpretation of islam. We check in the koran and see that what they are saying is true. They are really doing what the koran says. These are the fruits of islam. Let everybody know that if we lose our freedom as CAIR and Ellison and co are trying to use our own constitution to achieve, what we see in Somalia is what we will see here in America.
