Why should they feel threatened by Iran's nuclear program anyway? They aren't the Zionists about which our friend and ally Abdullah complains.
"Gulf summit opens with warning of regional explosion," by Suleiman Nimr and Wissam Keyrouz for AFP, with thanks to Anon:
RIYADH (AFP) - Saudi King Abdullah opened the annual summit of Gulf leaders with a warning that the Arab world was on the brink of exploding because of conflicts in the Palestinian territories, Iraq and Lebanon."Our Arab region is besieged by a number of dangers, as if it was a powder keg waiting for a spark to explode," he told the rulers of the oil-rich monarchies gathered in Riyadh for a two-day meeting to the backdrop of mounting sectarian violence in neighboring Iraq.
The Palestinians were reeling from "a hostile and ugly occupation" by
Israel while the international community watched their "bloody tragedy like a spectator," Abdullah said. But "most dangerous for the (Palestinian) cause is the conflict among brethren," he said in a reference to the differences between Palestinian president Mahmud Abbas's Fatah faction and the Islamist Hamas movement that have blocked the formation of a unity government.
In Iraq "a brother is still killing his brother," Abdullah said of the tit-for-tat killings between the Sunni Arab former elite and the ruling Shiite majority.
Abdullah also warned that Lebanon, which was rocked by civil war in 1975-1990, risked sliding into renewed civil strife as a result of the current standoff between pro- and anti-Syrian camps.
"In Lebanon, we see dark clouds threatening the unity of the homeland, which risks sliding again into... conflict among the sons of the same country," he said.
The heads of state of Gulf Cooperation Council members Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates were present alongside the Saudi monarch, the first time in several years that all six rulers have attended the bloc's year-end summit.
Gulf Arab leaders are also concerned about Shiite Iran's growing role in Iraq and its standoff with the West over Tehran's nuclear program, although GCC Secretary General Abdulrahman al-Attiyah said the GCC states do not feel threatened by the Islamic republic.
"The United States talks openly of the danger of Iranian military activity in the region, but our countries do not feel threatened by Tehran. Iranian officials assure us that their nuclear program is peaceful," Attiyah said.

-- from the article above
He needn't worry. The Bush Administration is doing everything it can to bring peace, and prosperity, and a stable and harmonious outcome, to Iraq. In the "Palestinian" territories, it wants to ensure the victory of the good side, the true side, the honorable side, the moderate side of Mahmoud Abbas and Fatah, and will help raise those $450 million to be sent to the starving "Palestinians." It is passing strange that they are reported to be such dire straits, because somehow they are still able to buy the very most expensive weaponry of all kinds, to outfit tens of thousands of members of a dozen different "security" forces in Gaza and the West Bank, and their rulers to buy really fabulously expensive villas and apartments all over Europe, but especially in London, and Paris, and southern France. They must have been working three jobs for years.
In Lebanon, the Administration will do everything it can to make sure that the Christians, Druse, and Sunnis do not fight and finally crush Hezbollah, and will certainly do everything it can to prevent Israel from aiding covertly, or overtly, by again attacking and this time really destroying the Hezbollah weapons and black-balaclava-ed bezonians of the goose-stepping Heil Nasrallah kind.
No, none of that would ever do. The American government cannot possibly countenance any further "instability" in the Middle East. That would be wrong. That couldn't possibly be right, because... well, because it would be "catastrophic."
Yes. So it would be. But "catastrophic" for whom? Abdullah appears, in his address to fellow Muslim Arabs, to demonstrate a better sense of this than the Bush Administration has ever managed to. Now, why would that be?

iran's intent is to rule the middle east and then the world..........
iran is making iraq is a lost cause........... the hatred between the shia and sunnis is genertions old and will only die once the shia utterly defeat sunni.
when iran has at least three working nukes one each will be used in Israel, Europe and America.......
you can not have peace with a people that do not want peace...........

Exhibit #1:
"U.S. Official Warns Lebanon Situation Could Get Worse
A U.S. official said on Saturday that the situation in Lebanon could get "significantly worse" if Hizbullah tried to impose its will on other parties.
'If any one group, particularly with support from the outside and with the threat of violence, attempts to force its will on others, we think the situation will get significantly worse,' James Jeffrey, principal deputy assistant secretary of state, told reporters in Kuwait, referring to Hizbullah.
'We think that will be a tragedy not only for Lebanese, but for the (Middle East) region,' Jeffrey said after talks with Kuwaiti officials."

Rice: 'Freedom Deficit' Hurts Middle East
Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said Friday a lack of democracy - a "freedom deficit" - is the core problem in the Middle East.
But Rice also said despite a divide between moderates and extremists in the area, she thinks the Bush administration can begin to deliver on its promise of a Palestinian state living in peace alongside Israel.
"No American president has ever dared to say it as a matter of policy," Rice said of President Bush's declaration in 2002 that he would support creation of a Palestinian state.
At a joint news conference with visiting German Foreign Minister Franz-Walter Steinmeier, Rice made it clear the administration would continue to focus on spreading demcoracy and steering clear of extremists while pursuing an Arab-Israeli settlement."

he Palestinians were reeling from "a hostile and ugly occupation" by
Israel while the international community watched their "bloody tragedy like a spectator," Abdullah said.
well Abdullah needs to tell the truth and Hezbollah and Hamas would make peace with Israel and quit firing rockets into Israel they would have peace it was Palestinians aided by their Muslim brethren in the Middle East and elsewhere is started the current fight and if any of these nations think Israel is just going to rollover and play dead its proof that they are nuts the Jews reportedly have nuclear weapons and I think if it came down to it they would use some and the hell with what the United Nations thinks and for that matter Abdullah needs to remember that the only thing keeping the Saudi royal family in power is their hold on the armed forcesalong with a religious police everybody tiptoes around these savages but just remember that Saudi Arabia is still very much a 10th century tribal society that is not really joined the 21st century where we are basically dealing with people whose grandparents are still desert tribal people

why should Saudi Arabia fear Iran's nuclear program Iran's targets as soon as they get the bomb will probably be Tel Aviv Washington, DC and Ottawa Canada a great Satan and his head and the two lesser Satan's and their capitals andI guess that the thinking among these primitive people and I mean primitive in the way they see the world like it's still the time of Mohammed 700 A.D. wear when you destroyed the capital city of a nation you had won a war they don't seem to realize that destroying Tel Aviv, Washington, DC, or Ottawa Canada would be doing the people of the United States and Canada in favor by killing off our politicians but in doing so they would piss a lot of people off, and Canada still has the components for its nuclear weapons at chalk River nuclear storage and reassemble them very quickly by Canada decided years ago to dismantle them but it can rejoin nuclear armed nations in about 24 hours I think if Iran attacks with atom bombs the public outcry would see Canada attacking along with the United States with weapons of mass destruction. And if anyone thinks Canada won't do it just look at the war record. So I'm a nut job need to read history especially attack on Pearl Harbor both from the Japanese perspective anti-American perspective and the history of World War II before he starts making threats. Also a history of the state of Israel and not from the Arab prospective but in the Jewish prospective as I believe they have not lost a war yet despite the and Hezbollahs claims of victory in the last one

The worst thing is that the World is geginning to turn it's back on Israel. That will be the Price for this Imaginary Peace. the West will bit by bit dissavow Israel for Defending herself , and for taking out Irans Nuclear capability. You already see it in the Books by Jimmy Carter , and others. Israel will end up having to do the Dirty work in Regards to Iran. Is there any doubt/ Israel will not allow Iran to do what it HAS promised it will do , " Wipe them off the face pf the Earth" I hope we have the backbone to stand beside the only Decent Gov't in the entire Region.

"Iranian officials assure us that their nuclear program is peaceful"
11/27/2006 ,
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad:
" America's Straw-Like Strength and Satanic Rule over the World Is ABOUT TO BE ANNILILATED "
" I have a piece of ADVICE for some of the superpowers. I think it is high time the leaders of America and England listened carefully...
Today, you have reached the END OF THE ROAD- both in our region and all over the world. This method of yours – your aggressive language, your language of selfishness, of the degradation and the coercion of the peoples - has come to an end. I would like to tell you that today, YOUR COLLAPSE AND THE PROCESS OF DISINTEGRATION OF YOUR SATANIC RULE HAVE BEGUN. You have no support – neither among the peoples of the region, nor among the other peoples of the world. I ADVISE YOU TO STOP COMMITING CRIMES. Stop your inhumane methods. Stop supporting these dishonorable and murderous Zionists."
Whatever could this mean?
Are they going to Annililate US with their PEACEFUL Nuclear power?
I think we can trust them. nothing to fear here.
at December 10, 2006 2:20 AM
Also in regards to their PEACEFUL nuclear intentions, i thought this article was extremely noteworthy
http://www.breitbart.com/news/2006/12/06/061206101357.8mjamnal.html
" Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has warned Western leaders to follow the path of God or "vanish from the face of the earth".
"These oppressive countries are angry with us ... a nation that on the other side of the globe has risen up and proved the shallowness of their power," Ahmadinejad said in a speech in the northern town of Ramsar, the semi-official news agency Mehr reported Wednesday.
"They are angry with our nation. But we tell them 'so be it and die from this anger'. Rest assured that if you do not respond to the divine call, you will die soon and vanish from the face of the earth," he said.
The outspoken president also maintained Iran's defiance over its controversial nuclear programme, saying it was on course to fully master nuclear technology.
"Thank to God's help, we have gone all the way and are only one step away from the zenith.
"We hope to have the big nuclear celebration by the end of the year (March 2007)," Ahmadinejad said, echoing comments he has made on numerous occasions in recent months.
A defiant Iran has refused to suspend its uranium enrichment work, a process that the West fears could be extended to make nuclear weapons.
Iran however insists its nuclear programme is solely aimed at generating energy.
France's Foreign Minister Philippe Douste-Blazy said Wednesday after a Paris meeting on Tehran's nuclear programme that the UN Security Council is agreed "there will be sanctions" on Iran, though their extent is yet to be decided. "

Seems to me that the ONLY Peace in this old world is what the Bible calls "The Peace that passes all understanding". That Peace that resides very, very, deep within me, deposited by the Prince of Peace Himself. You remember, don't you, its all about that Birthday we are about to celebrate on Dec. 25th.
I might not always be happy, but that strong spiritual force of supernatural Joy always abides deep within me as well.
And that LOVE, (WOW), that Love that comes from Father God, who is Love Himself, causes me to love all others, even the ones that, so sadly, have never had that reside deep within them.
He also gives me the Wisdom to not be naive about the other spiritual forces in this old world that drive men to do very evil things. "Peaceful nuclear intentions"? If they knew the Prince of Peace, their intentions would truly be peaceful!!
May his Love, Joy and PEACE be with all of you this Christmas.

You know someone needs to hit Condi with a clue bat and soon. Democracy and Islam and the whole middle east....it doesn't work. Because Sharia law out trumps all other laws.
Palestine doesn't want peace...Israel would be giddy and happy if they laid down their guns, rocks, bombs, suicide bombers, terrorist attackers down and concentrate more on developing their economy..but no they use all the money the world gives them to buy more guns and bombs. Vote in a terrorist group for a government and hate, hate, hate Israel.
Iran needs nukes for peaceful purposes? This is so laughable but it isn't for the simple fact that so many dingbats here in the US and Europe actually believe this lie.
Who will step up and act in the best interest of humanity and our country the US? We don't have strong leadership because they want to play both ends at the same time. To even think anyone can bring peace to the middle east is living in lala land. Has the middle east ever had peace? Even when they feel shamed from defeat, sure it calms down a little the victims of their death cult are many living in the middle east. But now...oh wow we keep giving into every demand, giving them more money (on top of oil money) and we keep our military on a leash.
The world is upside down.
Good is evil.
Right is wrong.
Black is white.
To be moral means immorality
To be jewish is to be a terrorist
To be Christian is worse than a terrorist
What the hell happened?

I can't wait until that region explodes, that is, U.S. bombs exploding all over the place. It is time to clean house. If there are any innocent people, give them a few warnings, just like Al-Q has been saying to the U.S. muslims. What the hell, an eye for an eye. That is the only "language" these folks understand. If we ever get our stuff together and make a move like that I'm sure the moderates will come out of the woodwork. They would feel more secure to start pointing fingers at insurgents and operatives. RIYADH (AFP) - Saudi King Abdullah opened the annual summit of Gulf leaders with a warning that the Arab world was on the brink of exploding because of conflicts in the Palestinian territories, Iraq and Lebanon.
"Our Arab region is besieged by a number of dangers, as if it was a powder keg waiting for a spark to explode," he told the rulers of the oil-rich monarchies gathered in Riyadh for a two-day meeting to the backdrop of mounting sectarian violence in neighboring Iraq.

Our loyal regressives, who give us red states and gave us Bush and the divisive "culture war"..just don't get it, and won't.
The Saudis run this country, they snap their fingers and Cheney runs off to KSA to get orders from King Abdullah. They snapped their fingers and America was bullshitted to invade Iraq, just to save the Saudis royal ass..the true muslims like Osama and the Muslim Brotherhood were outraged and "Islam was humiliated" by the presence of the infidel military in the land of Islam's two sacred cities.. So the blood and resources of this country were squandered, as was it's political and international reputation, to invade Iraq and thus empty the "magic kingdom" of infidel military..the Saudis problem was solved, at our expense.. and perhaps the Likkudniks thought that they too had gained some respite by eliminating Saddam and from the ensuing sectarian and tribal conflicts.. but as usual, ideologues and the desperate are short sighted.. what was gained in the short term will turn out to be a major headache and problem in the long term.. just like HAMAS, which was given a head start by the MOSSAD as a counterpoise to the Arab Nationalist movements like FATAH and the PLO..
Short term gains, long term unintended adverse consequences.. Neither Israel or the United States or Europe can be cited for intelligence, much less knowledgeable and far sighted leadership or proles.

"Peaceful" my ass...thatis an outright lie.
How so? Very simple...
1) NONE of their reactors in question are hooked up to their power grid.
2) there are NO plans to do so
3) there would have been bynow had they been "peaceful"...it's oneof the FIRST things you do for "peaceful nuclear power"- start the construction of said hookups.
As a matter of fact, satellite imagery shows the reactors in question aren't even close to the power grid needed to set up "peaceful" power remotely economically.
A country as rogue as iran...claiming "peaceful" nuclear power, yet screaming threats to nuke anyone who interferes with their "peaceful" nuke program...all the while being awashi oil up to their ears...
It walks like duck

"Iranian officials assure us that their nuclear program is peaceful"
Ultimately this is true. Their nuclear program is designed to bring about world peace, AFTER they've reduced all of the civilized nations of the Earth to ashes, and have forced the world's survivers to submit to their "peaceful" religion. "Peace" will naturally result once all of the world are on their collective knees, bashing their foreheads in the direction of Mecca.

Here you go again, Nariz. Just the other day you were brow-beating "red staters" for being partisan about blaiming folks for our inabilities in the fight against the jihadis, and here you are being partisan yourself, as aways.
So, which is it, Nariz? If we all revert to your "progressive" thought, then what? We'll just head off and punish folks who achieve anything, and tax this country into oblivion. If we all turn into "blue staters," we can target capitalism, racism, sexism, homophobia, Islamophobia, bigotry, and everything else "blue staters" care about. If we all turn out the way you want it, then we'll just throw up our hands and stop resisting altogether.
Nariz, when are you going to figure it out that this isn't a "blue state" or "red state" problem?

Cottshop...
...it's not a state secret...globalsecurity.org has a nice array of DEclassified satellite pix on it, and commentary on the same. It is also one of the first things intel looks at when checking things out.
(yes, military intelligence is NOT an oxymoron; it's the politicians who drag their feet for 3 months, bickering, bantering & vacillating on what to do next, only to act on it when it's then grossly obsolete, and thus, ineffective, that makes it seem so, but MI gets the bad rap for it instead, blamed by the very same buck-passing politicians who had their heads up their asses to begin with and get a free pass on).
Although the particulars and the methodology is classified in how it was aquired, there's been plenty of public discussion on it via security personnel on Foxnews in the US through hosts like o'reilly, north, cavuto & hannity. Beck at CNN also had some of the same people on, dealing with this same thing.
Here are some good public links to study in lieu of sensitive data not available to the public...
http://www.worldtribune.com
http://www.geostrategy-direct.com
...to name a few.
It may be "sanitized" for the public, but it's as close as you'll get to hardcore data without a clearance.
