She was born in the Ottoman Empire, and was responsible for some of its finest cuisine. You can find the recipe in this book.

Tushar:
There's no point. I contributed a recipe to this book, and now the book is available. That's all. Sorry for any confusion. This is definitely an off-topic post.

my mum makes stuffed vine leafs with rice and mince meat in them how did your grandman make hers robert?

Ah, yes. Thank you for the clarification. Its just that you rarely, if ever post anything so off-topic. Do I see an autobiography coming out of Secure Undisclosed Locationville about the travails of a Melkite woman fighting the yoke of dhimmitude with weapons of mass gastronomical delight?

Robert, your iconic status here does not allow you to have a grandmother. We'll forgive you this time, but get back on your pedestal and stay there.
Seriously, God bless you. Take care of yourself.
Best wishes to you and yours.

Hey Robert,
Where's the beef? I can't find the recipe. Do I have to buy the cookbook to get it?
I love stuffed grape leaves--especially with lamb.
The sample recipes here look pretty yummy.

Oh yeah, a very happy Hanukkah to all our Jewish friends.
This recipe might be worth having with ones legs stretched over an ottoman ;-)

Robert-
I think it may be effective to combine a cook book that features your grandmother's Mideast recipes with your books on Islam and Mohammed's history. At least Mideast cooking is good for digestion and pleasant. It will be good counterpoint.
I'm sure there must have been pleasant days for your family when they were in Turkey because of your grandmother since your grandmother's cooking was about life and love. That's what really matters after all.
