Get out, but leave your heavy weapons behind as war booty. "Insurgents offer U.S. 30-day truce for withdrawal," from Associated Press:
CAIRO, Egypt (AP) - The purported leader of an al-Qaida-linked militant group offered U.S. troops a one-month truce for withdrawing from Iraq without being attacked, according to a speech posted on an Islamic Web site Friday.
The leader of Islamic State of Iraq, Abu Omar al-Baghdadi, also called on former officers in Saddam Hussein's disbanded army to join his militia, promising to provide them with a salary and house so long as they could recite three "suras," or groups of verses, of the Quran.
The 20-minute audio tape appeared on an Islamic Web site known for displaying militant groups' statements. In Washington, a senior U.S. intelligence official said the CIA was reviewing the tape to determine its authenticity.
The "Islamic State of Iraq" declared itself in October. It is believed to be an umbrella group for militant organizations, including al-Qaida in Iraq.
Addressing the United States, al-Baghdadi said: "We order you to withdrew [sic] your troops immediately, using troop carriers and aircraft, and taking only your personal weapons. Don't withdraw any heavy weapons. Instead you should hand over those and your military bases to the holy warriors of the Islamic State."
For one month, he said, "we will allow your withdrawal to proceed without being attacked by explosives or any other form."
Al-Baghdadi claimed that Washington had tried to negotiate with his group through the Saudi government.
"The giant has started to fall. It is looking for an escape and seeking to negotiate with all the other groups and parties," al-Baghdadi said. He claimed he spurned the offer because "we are not ones to negotiate with those who killed our children."
Earlier this week, the No. 2 in the overall al-Qaida network, Ayman al-Zawahri, issued a video that congratulated the Islamic State of Iraq on its establishment and urged other Iraqi insurgents to join it. The tape was broadcast on the Qatari satellite channel Al-Jazeera.
Al-Baghdadi said his "state" had received wide support. He named four other militant groups as adherents and added that insurgents in 15 cities had pledged allegiance. He claimed that 70 percent of Sunni Muslim tribes in Iraq were supporters.
Islamic law was already being [enforced] by courts in the "state," he said. He claimed its authorities had already executed a man and a woman who committed adultery. They were executed in a public square after Friday prayers, but he did not say where and when this took place.

'Surrender hell'...Why dont you come and take those heavy weapons away from US forces. The only reason this clown (Bagofwind) is alive is due to the good graces of American troops and the inepness of western leaders. He is proof that Bush should have won the war when he won it. Not winning when you win, gives birth to dirtbags like Zawahiri and Baghdadi. He can take that offer and put it where the son dont shine. Please do not let Nancy Pelosi hear this offer, she will probably go for it...

Obviously, they don't just understand the intricacies of American politics. The Democratic Party might very well be willing to negotiate with any and all terrorists, but that doesn't mean that their talks will accomplish anything. As for surrendering, what is the ratio of Iraqis killed vs. Americans killed? 25 to 1? 50 to 1? 100 to 1? Or perhaps higher? Why surrender?
Finally, my tax dollars paid for those heavy weapons and I want them back.

The guy is delusional, clearly - common trait amongst jihadis / muslims.
A common, or garden variety of thief too it would seem.
Come on guys, if you want heavy weapons then please found a functioning country for the first time in Islamic history, get some jobs, and buy them for yourselves you lazy bunch of cocksmokers.

well interesting truce you can go. They say, we can go, but we want your heavy stuff as we sounds to me like they cannot get any heavy equipment, and her and trying con the US into giving them what they can not get and with the situation in Iraq is not surprising that some war lord would try to set up their own Islamic state

That's gotta be the funniest crap ever said by the Islamaniacs-this even tops the weekly rantings of Iran's Simian in Chief. This must be a little Christmas joke. And they say there's no humor in Islam!

What could conceivably futher the interests of the Camp of Infidels than to see all of those represented by this position being forced to defend themselves, and other Sunnis, from the Mahdi Army of Moqtada al-Sadr and the Badr Brigade and any number of informal Shi'a militias that do not bear a name?
Why should this be ignored? Why should Kutuzov be asked to supply greatcoats to the officers and men of the Grande Armee, rather than rub his hands, waiting for winter to arrive?

HOWZ-E MADAD, Afghanistan - There is no place to hide, and nowhere to run for the 700 to 900 Taliban insurgents now squeezed into a box near here by NATO forces.
They only have two options: Surrender, or attempt to fight their way out.
Such is the situation in and around Howz-e Madad, a dusty farming village 40 kilometres west of Kandahar City."

I can only hope that this "offer" gets a lot of press. I puts a very ugly face on Islam-Muslim activities here in the U.S.
Why do I say this? It's because Americans tend to condense what they think into small usable "chunklets". Thus, we will be looking at activities at the Mosque. The normal person in the street realizes that the folks in the Mosque are demanding that they "give up and go home." Guess what? The Mosque is next to their home!
There will not be the separation of the Mosque dwellers and the people we are fighting!

Hmmm. A Muslim militant offering a truce? Maybe the coalition forces ought to strike long and hard while the iron is hot. Something tells me that the guy has been having a worse war than the USA.

IRAQ: NO CHRISTMAS CELEBRATIONS, SAYS CHALDEAN PATRIARCH
Baghdad, 18 Dec. (AKI) - The head of Iraq's Chaldean Christian minority, Patriarch Emmanuel Delly has appealed on safety grounds to Christians in the war-torn country to refrain from any public celebrations for Christmas. Delly's decision was "motivated by the grave security situation in the country," the Chaldean patriarchate's Vicar Shlimon Warduni told Adnkronos International (AKI). The gesture was also meant as an "act of solidarity with the faithful of other religions, especially Muslims," Warduni added.

yes important concept to understand is it not?
What microsoft sometimes calls "iconisation" , the reduction of complexity to simple concepts easy to understand in a world of increasingly available information.
One of the main aims of the MSM since in the process of reduction childish propaganda is added to the new redux.
America is not losing the hard war- it is losing the soft war. Because of endless redux propaganda, it is losing its resolve to use its own sophisticated weaponry.
How can soldiers, who are the last line of defence against the Barnarians, be expected to do their jobs when they are attacked and ridiculed daily by not only the non aligned european countries, but by such institutions as the NYT and the american leftists?
How can the fight when there is no resolve even in the leadership itself and it issues no clear and concise instructions.
When they are ordered to satisfy the morals of the bien pensants, to minimise "civilian" casualties at the risk of their own lives. When they are told they are dispensable by the likes of John Kerry because they do not have what it takes to become hot shot lawyers or accountants because they are intellectually inferior.
it takes a very special kind of guy to fight when he is continually stoned by his own side!
So many young men have already died with little acknowledgement for their bravery and indeed only they become noticeable when used by the leftists as political weapons to attack the US government.
It is absolutely shameful and an example of the moral quagmire so many within our society have descended to.

I wonder how many former Saddam troops could actually quote three "suras"?? Who will undertake the task of teaching them these totally dead verses?
As for the 700 to 900 Taliban, lets see all their "heavy weapons" and then maybe we could negotiate their "withdrawal". Since they aint got none, SEE YAAAA!!!

I vote we Give them our heavy weapons (as the soldiers say) the Pointy end first.
The way the media treats our soldiers as statisics is disgusting.
The Saturday morning before the elections the local NBC TV station was on for the weather and as I walked past I heard this blonde bimbo reading the news say that "the Iraq war was the cause of death of two of our (state witheld) soldiers,
I e-mailed them right away and said that these soldiers diserved more respect than that. That they did not die in a house fire or a car accident. That they died fighting in a war, as honorable soldiers in an all volunteer army and that they should keep their politics to themselves.
I haven't heard anymore of that crap.
PS Check out a way to tell the soldiers that you are thinking of them. FightMediaBias.org

chevalier de st george has very eloquently "iconized" my thoughts. Thank you.
I was wondering what does the "Religion of Peace" want to do with our tanks and howitzers?
I guess the Fridays worship services are taking on a different character?
I have thought, for a long time, that the victimology argument of "our foreign policy" making people attack the United States was a bogus claim. I’m fearful that idiots that quote that crap actually have some adherents to their philosophical line of reasoning.
I haven’t seen in the past several years that the Dhimmicrats have had a genuine idea about anything. Taking up the victim theory that we are the problem in the mid-east reinforces my ideas about them.
I just love the picture of the demo-presidential pretenders sitting around with that chinless leader of Syria. Talk about a suck-up affair! I just love the expression on Bashier’s face when he was talking to them. He hasn’t seen that many Dhimmis together in his life. What a circus? Here these morons are sucking up when our soldiers are fighting for the Iraq people and dying for it.
I guess it’s Beer-30.
Well at least it is somewhere.

just a little FYI:
iraq is a country with a population of 22.5 million people. we are constantly told iraq is in a civil war and app[rox 70% of iraqis want americans out of iraq!
if the msm would do their math they would realize 70% of 22.5 million is 17.75 million persons!
during the shia holiday of ashuru millions of muslims take to the streets and cut themselves and their children to bleed and suffer in memory of the suffering of muhammads grandson.
if 70% of the iraqi people wanted americans out of iraq all they would need do is take up sticks and stones and americans would be out of iraq tomorrow!
if the shia that take to the streets to celebrate the suffering of muhammads boy were to pick up those sticks and stones and go after american soldiers, americans would be gone tomorrow!
the msm surely dont think we are all as stupid as the dhimmicrat sheeple do they?

They need the "war booty" to replace what we took from them and/or destroyed (a big hint they're hiding their damage we did to them, whichisworse than theyadmit, from the world).
Next I suppose they'll demand return of the laundered money we froze and took from them to finance their worldwide terror network...and expect us to simply give it all to them without question.
Man, this is one of the most moronic things I've heard from them in some time...and beyond laughable.
Oh, this just in from the mOslem munchkins:
"Surrender Dorothy!"
lmao

"Don't withdraw any heavy weapons. Instead you should hand over those and your military bases to the holy warriors of the Islamic State."
Ya know, this might not be such a bad idea especially if we leave some lovely parting gifts... wired to ignitions.

Actually I have a better idea...works every time.
Take off the gloves and let our troops fight the way they were designed to...and purge this cancer called political correctness...
...to date, we have NEVER let them do so. Last time that took place was January-February 1991.
That's all there is to it.

As absurd and bizarre this whole story sounds, it makes you wonder whether some half-wits in this administration didn't approach the Jihad-freaks for some kind of truce and they see that immediately as victory.
Why else would they get the impression that the US wants to get out and needs a truce?

Let's accept this gracious offer. Then we can follow up with a wonderful goodwill gesture: we attack Israel and destroy it utterly so that the palestinians may finally have the home they have long cherished and deserved. We'll even throw in lots of aid to make palestine a viable, prosperous nation. All we ask is that you won't attack us any more. How about it? Is it a deal?

Because the media say it must be so.
And I give them credit. It took them years of false reporting and public campaigning to turn victory into defeat in Vietnam. Thank you Halberstam and Cronkite.
This time around, they were lying and lobbying before the aircraft carriers even arrived. Thank you this time goes out to hundreds of American journalists rooting against her interests.

Hum, when our Towers came down and three thousand people were killed by a flying bomb, I wanted to drop a bomb and incinerate at least a hundred and fifty thousand, in return.
I still do !
