Another attempt to stifle all honest discussion of the roots within Islam of Islamic jihad violence and what can be done about them. "MWL Wants Lawsuits for Abuse of Islam and the Prophet," by P.K. Abdul Ghafour in Arab News, with thanks to all who sent this in:
JEDDAH, 28 December 2006 — A two-day conference organized by the Makkah-based Muslim World League yesterday called for a consultative commission in order to take legal action against those who abuse Islam and its Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and Islamic sanctities, at local and international courts of justice, the Saudi Press Agency said.The conference titled “In Defense of the Prophet” called upon Islamic countries and governments to stand united to defend the Islamic faith and its Prophet. It denounced the smear campaigns to tarnish the image of the Prophet and urged Muslims to make all-out efforts to project the true picture of Islam and the great divine teachings of the Prophet.
Grand Mufti Sheikh Abdul Aziz Al-Asheikh, who presided over the conference, called upon Muslims to follow the Prophet’s teachings.
“Our enemies are exploiting Muslims’ weak adherence to the Prophet’s Sunnah,” said Al-Asheikh. “We should not be ashamed of implementing his Sunnah. On the other hand, all Muslims must observe his teachings in all walks of their life.”
MWL Secretary-General Abdullah Al-Turki said the attack on the Prophet was an expression of enmity toward Islam.
“The whole Muslim Ummah, including its leadership, scholars and ordinary people was outraged by such attacks and this again shows the lofty position the Prophet has in their hearts,” he said in reference to the Muslim response to cartoons depicting the Prophet.
MWL plans to launch an international program to introduce the Prophet and the conference called for setting up a fund to support the program. “The anti-Islam campaign also intends to trigger a cultural conflict between the Islamic world and the West and create a situation of clash and conflict in place of dialogue and peaceful coexistence,” the MWL chief said....
Jamal Badawi, a Canadian-Muslim expert on Islam, spoke about the Prophet’s outstanding influence on human history.
“There is no other personality who has made such a positive impact on history,” he told the conference.

This is their window for top-down implementation of Sharia, the back door man's back door. The West's capacity for self-mutilation is of course its legal systems.
Yes, of course this will help destroy civilization, but I for one am willing to pay that price just to find what an Islamic sanctity is.
I just want one thing in return: When they set this Star Chamber Consultative Commission up for business, presumably in the Hague, or maybe in Geneva, let's be sure to get a person from Yale Law, Harvard Law, or Stanford Law to serve as its Chief InJustice [no sic].

Well, another example of recreating Muslims in the image of 1960's blacks in Mississippi. The fruit of an American university education is self evident.
The attatchment to victimhood...the racist and Islamophobe chants growing stronger, the use of censorshhip, called political correctness, to thwart even converstion about this subject.
Add use of the courts, sloppy thinking by voters and submission of the authorities. Factor in PC newsrooms across the nation the New Left's cooperation and partnership with these terrorists.

If there were ever an ideology that is so alien so at odds with the West, Islam would get my vote. I don't care if they practice their beliefs and traditions in their own lands. But to immigrate into the West and then expect to have those beliefs and traditions not only accommodated but forced on Westerners is beyond the pale.
I'm sure Tony Blair would beg to differ on that.

More accurately, it shows the "Muslim Ummah" is a bunch of cretins, from top to bottom. The notion that any member of the "Ummah" knows anything about being "lofty" is contradicted by the very way in which the "Ummah" lives, and has lived, since the time of Muhammed.
Note to Ummah: Your prophet, were he a Westerner born today, would be put in jail alongside other scum a la Charles Manson. I put just as much stock in Muhammed as a prophet as I do in Charles Manson as a prophet, i.e. none.

Let's face it, the purpose of the consultative commission would be to force the rest of the world to acknowledge that the fraud Mahammad was a Prophet of God, and deserving of special protection against infidel Christians and Jews.
Any suggestion that Muslims might be subject to legal actions because of their attitudes and teachings about other religions would be anathema to the Muslim World league. After all, how can Islam be guilty of anything but teaching the unvarnished truth?

Anyway, it's a lost cause that they are fighting, since information about the very beginnings of islam are coming out.
And with that, I don't mean the muslim account of it all, of which the oldest written accounts were written about 200 years after Mo's death, but contemporary accounts, from non-muslim chroniclers and other sources.
You see, as it turns out, the early cult of Mohammed was nothing like islam - it wasn't even called islam, nor were its follewers known as muslims.
And that is just one of the lesser differences...
But the details of that are explained in an excellent book called 'Hagarism: The Making of the Islamic World' (1977), written Michael Cook and Patricia Crone.

I could feel the pull from it at times and it is as though your mind is no longer your own...but after the first few pleasantries with these people they started to leave me alone after i started to tell them that i did not beleive what they were saying. i was kicked off from a muslim message board for asking the wrong questions like "why cant women do the call to prayer?" or "I think men and women should be allowed to pray together." the hatred that flowed from these intolerants was think...yeah...it is a major mind f***...

So We desired that their Lord should give them in exchange (read yubaddilahumā or yubdilahumā) one better than him in purity, that is, in righteousness and ALLAH-fearing, and closer, than him, to mercy (read ruhman or ruhuman, in other words [it is to be understood as] rahmatan, 'by way of mercy') namely, [closer to] dutifulness towards his parents. Thus ALLAH, exalted be He, gave them in exchange a girl, who [afterwards] married a prophet and gave birth to a prophet through whom ALLAH guided an entire community.

To take one to court for insulting islam and the prophet they would have to prove what was stated about/against muhammad or islam was an insult or was a slander!
I can see people opening up the qu'ran and hadiths and the sira of muhammad and the history of islam and muhammad in a court of law and showing that it is impossible to insult muhammad or allah!
Actually calling muhammad(piss be upon him) a prophet of god and allah a god is an insult!

The most interesting thing to me is the use of the word 'Canadian-Muslim' in the article. The ‘last name’ is Muslim, in contrast with German-American, or Mexican-American, or African-American. This is in sync with the opinion polls showing that many Muslims in the West consider their primary affiliation to be to their religion, and their second to their Citizenship.

Mohd SAW lost both his parents before he was 6. He was brought up by his uncle who liked Hindu gods.
Grateful for this early education, he however felt that he could touch the stars and wanted more. He just needed divine guidance...and how he got it. IN 23 short years (he started at 40 till 63), he transformed humanity in the ME, gave freedom to womens and gave the musalman something to be proud of. Now inshallah this good news is spreading the world over.
Surely, No one can begrudge him his genius, if you think that the past has been spectular ...just think what the future holds. ...complete global rule of Islam....for the 1st time since Allah created man there will be peace on the Earth....truly you could not ask for a more brighter , lighter and whiter future.

Two Christian pastors found to have vilified Muslims under Victoria's religious hatred law won their appeal and hailed the decision as a victory for free speech.
The Court of Appeal ordered the case to be reheard at the original tribunal, before a different judge and with no further evidence. It set aside the orders for public apologies in newspaper advertisements and for the pastors not to repeat their remarks.
Last year Judge Michael Higgins found that Pastors Danny Nalliah and Daniel Scot and Catch the Fire Ministries vilified Muslims at a seminar on jihad in Melbourne in March 2002, in a newsletter and a website article.
He said these suggested that the Koran promoted killing and looting, that Muslims wanted to take over Australia and terrorists were true Muslims.
Justices Geoffrey Nettle, David Ashley and Marcia Neave overturned that finding but rejected the appeal that the Racial and Religious Vilification Act was unconstitutional.
They ordered the Islamic Council of Victoria, which brought the original complaint, to pay half the appellants' appeal costs but left the costs of the original hearing to be decided by the judge who rehears the case.
After the hearing, Pastor Nalliah said: "I'm really thankful to the Lord. I would be pleased to see it completed and not go back to the tribunal, but what we got was more than a blessing."
He said it was a great day for free speech. He added that all laws needed to be tested, and this now had now been tested and found to be a bad piece of legislation.
Pastor Scot thanked his supporters and vowed to continue conducting seminars on the Koran and Hadiths (Islam's sacred texts). "Some Muslims have got the idea they have to hide the truth, and that's very sad," he said.
"People should know it from the primary sources and not be misled by politically correct teachers who don't know the reality of Islam and want to glorify it with false pretensions and assumptions, " he said.

The Non-Muslim World League should want lawsuits for "abuse by Islam and the Prophet" starting with treatment of Filipinos and other "guests" in Saudi Arabia. That's for starters. Then the world can move on to trials of Muslims for Jihad in Darfur and a few other places. However, since the belief-system is the only major belief-system that condones deception, it will be difficult, if not impossible, to believe any Muslim testimony-defense in any court, especially a Sharia court. An impartial court requires honest testimony. Distrust of Muslims is the ultimate consequence of having any "religious" doctrines that permit deception. Islam is unique in that regard.

The story-line is roughly as follows: the Caliph has assembled a group of the best scholars, and ordered them to collect all known copies of the verses of the koran and hadith, to collate and scrutinize them, and to delete dubious or spurious verses, so as to produce a standard, uniform koran for the use of the entire islamic world. It turns out that these "scholars" deleted a good deal, and that in most of these deletions, the angel Gabriel spoke to Mohammed not with the voice of Allah, but with the voice of one or another of his daughters, the goddesses al-Uzza, al-Lat, and Manah. Fortunately, some of the assembled scholars disagreed with these expurgations, and they formed a secret society to preserve them for posterity, until the time was ripe to publish them. This secret society calls itself the Avicenna Society, after one of its greatest leaders, the medieval philosopher Avicenna. In general these verses reveal a softer, more feminine side of islam, more nurturing, more caring, more supportive. Many of the harsher verses of the existing koran are abrogated. Take, for example, the infamous verse where "even the rocks and trees cry out, 'oh good moslem, there is a Jew hiding behind me, come and kill him.'" The deleted verse, which abrogates the existing one reads: [Gabriel using the voice of al-Uzza] "Oh Mohammed, Papa was in a bad mood when he said that, he didn't really mean it. what he meant was that the rocks and trees would cry 'oh good moslem, there is a Jew hiding behind me, come and embrace him, and tell him there is no need to hide, for you are both believers in faiths handed down by Allah.'" Another example is the deleted verse dealing with when and how a wife is allowed to chastize her husband. The wife is first to gently upbraid her husband for his failings and earnestly urge him to do better. Failing that, she is allowed to forcefuly vilify and mock him. And failing that she is allowed to beat him, only with the hand where it would show, such as on the face, but with a stick where it will not show, and even then only so hard as to cause a bruise, and not so hard as to break bones or damage internal organs. In the verse detailing the circumstances in which such correction may be applied, Gabriel speaks with the voices of all three goddesses: "the husband may be chastized when he fails to provide sufficient resources for the wife to run the household [al-Uzza], when he behaves badly in public and brings dishonor on the family (e.g. by criminal conduct, or cursing, or fighting) [al-Lat], and when he fails to perform well in bed [Manah]."

I raided the local library and came out with "The Meaning of the Holy Qur'an" by Abdullah Yusuf Ali. It is a heavily annotated translation put out by (or escaped from) Amana Publications.
I've already renewed it once and am only a third of the way through. It is hard slogging but I believe it's necessary to "know thine enemy" and pass the knowledge along.

Among the four widely-accepted translations, only Ali added the word "lightly" to verse 4.34, where Allah allegedly gave man permission to beat his woman.

There are several good online places that you can scour for not just Quran, but also Sunnah, Fiqh, Usool and other items. This is a good place to start (thanks to Archimedes)
I personally use the Quranbrowser.com for any Quranic verses that get quoted (enter verse# in search box like this 9:5, and select the desired translations). I generally pick Hilali-Khan, which the video "Islam: what the West needs to know" uses, as well as Arberry, which Robert seems to pick as his favorite (my only peeve about it is the use of the word 'God' instead of 'Allah', since English speaking Muslims worship Allah, not God.)
For Hadith, Fiqh, Reliance of the Traveller, Usool, I highly recommend the al Muhaddith search engine, which one can search either by keywords, or by chapter and verse.

Do we live in a country where we have free speech or not? Seems in some parts of Europe, this is becoming a real problem in that if you say something - even if it is the truth - that offends a muslim, then they are labelling it 'hate speech'.
They would love to chip away at our rights and that is why it is vital that 'we the people' stand up against them.

That's because women have more freedom of movement in the US than just about anywhere in the world, which inevitably puts them in some bad situations. Keeping women locked up in the house does wonders to reduce instances of rape. Additionally, women are probably underreporting rape in other parts of the world, especially in Islamic societies, where it can get them charged with adultery, and overreporting it in the US (you should check out the estimates of how many false rape charges are filed each year).
Sometimes statistics don't tell the whole story.

Islam isn't a "core" religion. If it never existed the world would be no poorer for it. Christianity and Judaism, whatever their truth or falsity, at least expanded man's notions of the universe and himself. Islam did, and does, nothing of the sort. The sooner it disappears, the better.
