CAIR monitors airport treatment of Muslims

The Council on American Islamic Relations continues its campaign to stigmatize all scrutiny of Muslims in airports as discrimination. From UPI, with thanks to Web:

WASHINGTON, Jan. 5 (UPI) -- A U.S. Muslim organization said Thursday it was monitoring the treatment of American Muslims returning from the hajj pilgrimage.

The Council on American-Islamic Relations said it would be organizing interviews with American Muslims who were coming home from the annual pilgrimage to Mecca "to spot-check their treatment by airport security personnel and border protection authorities."

CAIR said an estimated 10,000-15,000 American Muslims went on the hajj to Mecca in Saudi Arabia this year. The group set up a toll-free hotline for travelers who felt that their civil rights had been ignored or over-riden.

CAIR will run out credibility in the United States. I hear more and more people & members of the media refer to them as something other than 'a civil rights group'.

People are not all sheeple. Many people are finished with the culture of vicitimization. Things are moving against muslim supremicism/victimization in the minds of common people in the United States. We need more incidents like the six imams in Minneapolis, not less.

People catch on when they listen to CAIR after these incidents. Talk radio has recently turned a corner viz a viz CAIR in my opinion.

As I have posted many times. Muslims are the worst possible immigrants BAR NONE!. Only stupid nations allow them to immigrate. They want Jews out of the Middle East but demand entry to Western nations and for their asses to be smooched. They are freaking security risks!!

muslims being discriminated at airports???? What about the muslim taxi drivers who discriminate against blind people with seeing eye dogs.

Posted by: callmeinfidel [TypeKey Profile Page] at January 5, 2007 5:10 PM

This outrages me. Actually, this has been going on for quite some time. Most notably, at O'Hare International Airport members of CAIR were given the red carpet treatment by Customs and Border Patrol agents.

Until Saudi Arabia ceases to discriminate against non muslims, why should any of us care if muslims are checked at the airport. airports and airlines understand their success will be when travellers have safe flights to their denstinations. so if the check more the muslims too bad.

From CAIR’s Rights and Responsibilities Pocket Guide

If you are visited by federal law enforcement agencies. Remember:
1. You should have a lawyer present when speaking with federal law enforcement agencies. Under the law, you have the legal right to have a lawyer present when speaking with federal law enforcement agencies. This is true even if you are not a citizen. This is your legal right. Refusing to answer questions cannot be held against you and does not imply that you have something to hide.
2. You do not have to permit them to enter your home of office if they do not have a warrant. Under U.S. law, law enforcement agents must possess a search warrant in order to enter your house. If they say they have a warrant, kindly demand to see it before allowing them to enter. The warrant will specify exactly what can be searched and if they have a warrant, be courteous and politie and remember that you are under no obligation to answer questions without a lawyer present.

My favorite line is ‘kindly demand to see it’.

I'm a Christian and I'd like to visit Saudi Arabia and bring my Holy Bible with me. Does anyone here know the person and/or phone number of someone at C.A.I.R. that I could talk to to make sure that I have no difficulties with intolerant Saudi authorities?????

Help! Anybody!

Now that we've put a crimp in C.A.I.R.'s smuggling of money to terrorist groups in the Middle East and elsewhere for the killing of Jews and other infidels, they really have nothing better to do with their time.

' CAIR said it was "concerned about an increase in reports of alleged profiling of Muslims at the nation's airports." '

It is preposterous. Muslims should absolutely be profiled. CAIR should be asked these questions openly and publicly. Why do we have increased airport security since Sept. 11, 2001, CAIR? Because of the attacks, maybe? How many of the Sept. 11 hijackers were Muslim, CAIR? All of them, maybe?

Does CAIR honestly believe that being Muslim was not integral to the motives of the Sept. 11 terrorists? That is the paramount question that CAIR should be asked. Maybe a rhetorician could form it a little better and get it asked loudly and clearly to a CAIR representative on national television. It doesn't even have to be answered by them, because we all know they have no answer that would not fully discredit them.

It's not aiport security's fault that Muslims murder en masse, it's Muslims' fault. If Muslims don't want to be profiled, then they shouldn't commit acts of terror -- pretty simple really. But apparently CAIR is too thick for even that.

Our airlines should bring in El-Al to train the airport personnel.

More CAIR nastiness:

Ihsan Bagby, a founding Board member of CAIR, maintained that Muslims "can never be full citizens of this country [the U.S.] . . . because there is no way we can be fully committed to the institutions and ideologies of this country."

Shortly after it was founded with foreign Arab money in 1994, CAIR called the guilty verdict in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing case "a travesty of justice" and a proof of the all-pervasive "Islamophobia" in the American society.

In 1995 CAIR condemned the conviction of Omar Abdel Rahman, the blind sheikh, for conspiring to blow up New York City landmarks, as a "hate crime."

CAIR advisory-board member Siraj Wahhaj was named in 1995 as one of the unindicted co-conspirators in the scheme to blow up New York City sites in 1993.

In July 1998 CAIR's chairman of the board, Omar Ahmad, declared that the Kuran should be America's highest authority and that Islam is not in America to be equal to any other religion, but to be dominant.

In August 1998 CAIR condemned the targeting of terrorist training camps in Afghanistan in the aftermath of the bombings of two U.S. embassies in Africa.

In October 1998 CAIR demanded the removal of a Los Angeles billboard describing Osama as "the sworn enemy."

That same year CAIR denied bin Laden's responsibility for the twin East African embassy bombings.

In November 1999, at a Muslim youth rally in Chicago, Omar Ahmad praised suicide bombers: "Fighting for freedom, fighting for Islam—that is not suicide."

After 9-11 CAIR called for donations: under a picture of the flaming Towers the hyperlink took donors to the website of the Holy Land Foundation, an Islamic charity whose assets were frozen soon thereafter by the Treasury Department. On July 27, 2004, a federal grand jury in Dallas, Texas, returned a 42 count indictment against the HLF that included conspiracy, material support to a foreign terrorist organization, and money laundering.

A week later CAIR called on people to donate to the Global Relief Foundation, another Islamic charity from Illinois, whose assets were also frozen in December 2001, and which has provided assistance to known Islamic terrorist groups.

In December 2002 CAIR called the closure of the Holy Land Foundation "unjust" and "disturbing."

CAIR claimed the closure of the Global Relief Foundation was due to the racial profiling of a group that "had established a track record of effective relief work."

In 2002 CAIR embarked on a campaign to place a package of pro-Islamic books and CDs in thousands of American libraries. It claimed the program was not subsidized from abroad, but kept quiet about $1/2m donation from Saudi Prince Alwaleed bin Talal bin Abdul Aziz al Saud—which gave a Wahabi seal of approval on the materials.

In 2003 CAIR complained about the FBI surveillance of mosques, but remained mute when it was revealed that the Al-Farooq mosque in New York was complicit in collecting funds for al-Qaeda. Undeterred, it has continued to demand amendments to the USA Patriot Act to protect the Muslims from eavesdropping.

In September 2003 Bassem Khafagi, CAIR's community relations director, pleaded guilty to lying on his visa application and was deported.

After the March 11, 2004, bombings in Madrid, Ibrahim Hooper said a Muslim convert in Florida who allegedly had her hijab pulled by Spanish tourists "is also victim of terrorism." Adolf [sic] Ali, head of CAIR Florida, insisted that Florida should reinstate the electric chair for "kuffars accused of causing offense to Muslims."

In April 2005, the founder of the Texas chapter of CAIR, Ghassan Elashi was found guilty of supporting terrorism. He was the third CAIR-connected figure to be convicted on federal terrorism charges since 9-11.

Also in April 2005, CAIR orchestrated a nation-wide campaign to have my book The Sword of the Prophet banned from the National Review Online bookstore.

In August 2005 when WMAL, a Washington, D.C. talk radio station, succumbed to CAIR’s pressure and fired presenter Michael Graham for his comments on the link between Islam and terrorism.

In April 2006 a federal appeals court upheld the dismissal of a $2 million defamation lawsuit by CAIR against former U.S. Rep. Cass Ballenger. The suit was filed in response to an October 2003 interview in which Ballenger said CAIR raised funds for terrorists and did so "with actual malice, wrongful and willful intent to injure and with reckless disregard for its truth or falsity."

Re: CAIR monitors airport treatment of Muslims

More deception. These CAIR people are mentally ill.

Ten years ago it was almost as easy to get on and off a plane in the US as it is to get into a car and drive someplace. Now we all have to go through hoops and hoops of security to get on a plane. Who is responsible for this? CAIR is as deceptive as the Nazis and as sick as the Nazis.

I'm very curious to know if zamzam water is allowed for transport to the US via aircraft, since contact lens solution, baby formula and high dollar booze is verboten. Of course those mundane things do not have a protectionist group that would cair to make a fuss and scream discrimination if they require dumping.

Posted by: Shakey_Premise [TypeKey Profile Page] at January 5, 2007 6:13 PM

. . . some of you might remember "they check in but don't check out."

If you don't, you get the picture. It applies to "students" that stay and stay and stay. It applies to "asylum seekers" and their descendants that can stay in perpetuity, and of course to the passengers on State's "visa express."

Now, reverse that old advertising slogan that touted a certain "motel."

and reverse it.

The recent Barbara Boxer turn-about on the "award" to a CAIR deceiver is a bad omen for them. I think Boxer got a "heads-up" from somebody and has distanced herself from the CAIR deceivers for that reason. It will be quite an earful and eye opener to hear the tapes and read the transcripts that are going to be evidence with this very sinister organization. We are going to hear things that will make the hair on the backs our necks stand on end. It will be chilling.

I see the perp-walk for Ibrahim "Curly" Hopper and many of the CAIR Stooges in the future. When I prove to be right, I'll put on my Johnny Carson Karnak headdress, open the envelope and ask the question.

If CAIR is so concerned about discrimination, and want to prove how tolerant Islam is of other faiths, why not give Christians an 800 number to call if they feel discriminated against in Muslim countries?
Then when someone's Bible is confiscated at a Saudi airport, they'll have someone they can go to for help. CAIR can then contact Saudi authorities to protest their unIslamic behavior. The Saudis can then tell them to go straight to hell.

Fritz Kuhn's Bund and William Pelley's Silver Shirts were quite bold in their pro-Nazi and antisemitic activities. The Bund held a famous rally right in the middle of New York City, in Madison Square Garden, as late as 1940. But after December 7, 1941 the Bund was disbanded, its members harried, some arrested, and all lapsed into silence. And so did the members of the other groups tracked by John Roy Carlson in "Under Cover."

The equivalent of December 7, 1941 in this war-wihtout-end that began earlier, but was not marked by one spectacular attack, the Jihad that had fallen over the past two centuries into desuetude only because of Muslim weakness, and was revived when three things occured to make Muslims believe that they could now go for broke, and achieve superiority over their permanent, because non-Muslim, enemies.

These three things were:

1) the past, present, and continuing OPEC oil revenues, which since 1973 have amounted to ten trillion dollars

2) the tens of millions of Muslims permitted by heedless elites everywhere to enter and settle and and make themselves at home in Infidel countries, all over the Bilad al-kufr, behind what they are taught to regard as enemy lines

3) the exploitation by Muslims of Western advances in technology, such as audiocassettes (so useful to Khomeini in 1978-79, videocassettes, satellite television (Al-Jazeera, Al-Manar, and others), and the Internet, on which all those Muslim websites preach the faith, inveigle the Spiritual Searchers, and offer videos of decapitation of Infidels that apparently are such a useful recruiting tool for the cause of Jihad.

During the Cold War those who were regarded as agents of the Soviet Union were tracked. Some were arrested. Some lost their jobs. Some were punished for membership in the Communist Party, by the government or, informally, by fellow citizens unwilling to tolerate such an allegiance.

Why does CAIR behave so boldly as to attempt to thwart, completely without fear, and at every step, the most modest measures of self-defense? Why does it think it can get away with the kinds of things it does?

Because it can. And will until enough people, including those from quarters CAIR least expects, have learned enough to be implacable in their mistrust and their relentless hostility to CAIR and everything for which it stands, and in a thousand ways, that go beyond what trivial measures are taken by the government, make life as difficult as they can for CAIR and for all its supporters. Just as they would have, in 1941, for supporters of Fritz Kuhn's Bund.

I certainly hope (S)CAIR also double-checks those returning for bombs, IDE components, WMD materials and uranium...being the "good" organization they are and all....I mean, though all muslims may not be active terrorists, all islamic terrorists are muslims. But, of course, (S)CAIR isn't really concerned about stopping terrorism, now, are they?

Nigeria condemns 'rude' airlines

Mr Fani-Kayode said Nigerians were being "treated like animals"
Nigeria's aviation minister has accused two UK airlines of treating Nigerian passengers with the "utmost contempt".
Femi Fani-Kayode said British Airways and Virgin Atlantic could face "major sanctions" over alleged maltreatment of Nigerians on their flights.

But British Airways says it is "very distressed" by the comments.

"We will be visiting the minister personally next week to address his concerns," a British Airways spokesperson told the BBC News website.

'Respect and dignity'

Mr Fani-Kayode said he "would not sit by and allow our people to be treated like animals by anybody or for any reason".

He said Nigerian passengers usually faced such treatment when checking-in for a flight.

However, BA's Becky Livingstone said: "We take great pride in our customer service and have the same excellent standards for all our customers throughout the world."

A spat between the Nigerian government under the former dictator Sani Abacha in 1997, led to BA's flights being suspended for several months, leading to huge losses for the airline.

Virgin Atlantic's Nigeria office says it is preparing a response to the minister's accusations.

Mr Fani-Kayode advised both airlines to "offer better training and far more discipline" to their staff so they could learn to treat their Nigerian passengers "with respect and decency".

British Airways and Virgin Atlantic are the two biggest international passenger carriers to Nigeria operating daily flights to Abuja and Lagos, respectively.

If security officials did't profile, how many more muslim terrorist attacks would have been more successful? Because of profiling, many potential terrorist attacks on our soil was thwarted. Continue to profile. Do not cave into Pelosi or the CAIR terrorist organization.

CAIR should also monitor the treatment of passengers that were on the airplanes during 9/11.

As an American, when is someone going to ask me if my civil rights have been violated by muslims everytime I have to go through security at that airport.

Can I ask a question?
If CAIR only wants to know about muslims, aren't they being discriminatory?

CAIR wants to know if muslims civil rights were violated....are they saying while in the presence of Americans or while in Saudi, where the country doesn't recognize human rights?

Saudi Arabia on the otherhand, says they will heavily scrutinize muslims coming from America....is CAIR going to complain about this extra scrutinization by Saudi Arabia?

If CAIR investigates any claims will they admit publicly if the muslim claiment was they one that caused the problem? (Since CAIR has never said that any muslim has ever done anything wrong)

Will CAIR share their call logs and telephone numbers with the public on incoming calls to their toll free line?

CAIR will meet with people to see if their 'rights were ignored or over-ridden'....How does someone have a violation of civils rights if they were ignored? And doesn't airport security override my rights to allow me on an airplane? Otherwards, I would carry my luggage on the plane with me.

CAIR obvioulsy knows every name of everyone that went to Saudi. Will CAIR show the 'rules' that apply to their 'Spot Check' and as to how they choose who they will be contacting?

CAIR said an estimated 10,000-15,000 American Muslims went on the hajj to Mecca in Saudi Arabia this year.

I got it, I got it - send them to Iraq from KSA as a part of the troop surge (thank you, Jihad McCain)! As it is, they'd have defrayed much of the travel costs. Split them into 2 groups - Shia and Sunni (and give NOI members choice of whom to join). Send in the Shia to combat the Baathists/al Qaedas as well as Syrian Ikhwan infiltrators, and send the Sunni in to combat the Mahdi troops of Moqtada al Sadr. Once the surge is complete, remove all Infidel troops from Iraq, but leave these there as a token presence, just to demonstrate that we didn't just 'cut 'n run'.

Talk about profiling

Malaysia celebrates 50 years of independence this year and to mark the occasion it has launched Visit Malaysia Year 2007.

Malaysia is hoping for more than 20 million visitors this year
The country's palm-fringed beaches, affordably priced hotels, sprawling shopping malls, fantastic food and wildlife already make it one of Asia's premier destinations.
And this year its tourism authorities hope a big push will propel visitor numbers towards an astonishing target of 20 million.

But following an incident late last year, American Wayne Wright is far from convinced by the promise of Malaysian hospitality and the claim of its tourism slogan that it is truly Asia.

And so the hajj comes to an end, and the pilgrim couple return to their home in Anysuburb, USA. . .

"Good morning, bint Hassan. How was the hajj?"

"It all went very well, thank you Mrs. Olsen, but one is alway glad to be home."

"Enjoyed it, then?"

"Oh yes. Even before the hajj itself, we stayed with Abdul's brother Ali and his family in Egypt and they showed us a wonderful time. First there was the clitorectomy of their 9 year old daughter, Fatima. This had been planned for a few months earlier, but they put it off when they found out we were coming, so that I could watch. I didn't actually take part, you understand; the work was done by a couple of professionals, but I watched along with various aunts, cousins and older sisters. Then there was the marriage of their 11 year old, Manah, to a wealthy businessman as his third wife. He seemed totally enamored of her; and he's quite well-off, a good alliance for the family. Then they took us to a school play, in which their oldest boy, Omar, had a lead role. The play was about PLO freedom fighters capturing and beheading a family of Jewish "settlers" on the West Bank. Very inspirational. And then there were the unexpected treats; like one day in the market shopping, we watched a group of Egyptian teen-agers beating an elderly Coptic couple. That nasty old man had the nerve to strike back at them at first, so they taught him a good lesson! He's missing more than one tooth, and he won't be walking again for a while, I can tell you! I was proud to see such fine young men defending their faith."
"I see, and the hajj itself?"
"Oh wonderful. We trotted around the Kaabe, ran up and down the hill, threw the stones at the pillar, and prayed here, there, and everywhere. A very uplifting experience. And safe, too; the authorities said the death-toll this year was only in the hundreds, much lower than average."
"Well, I"m glad to hear it went so well. Have a nice day bint Hassan."
"Thank you. You too, Mrs. Olson."

Ah, how is it legal for CAIR to be monitoring Americans and American airports reporting on lawful citizens?
This is a violation of profiling laws in CAIR targets Americans and American institutions with a bias.
One way to always get the full meaning of the story is to replace CAIR with KGB or NAZI.
Would Americans stand for the KGB monitoring our airports (yes I know they are now FSB), but the point is CAIR has no authority and is violating the civil rights of American travelers and public institutions by asking Muslims to basically spy on Americans. If the KGB is not allowed to gather information and you know if it was the NRA doing this the media would be all over it, then is it not time for CAIR to feel the US justice system to protect our citizens from profiling?

okay if they are "American" why would they fret about spending a little extra time. If its for the sake of security whats the big deal!!! I am Mexican American "first American" i get angry when Im not asked for my papers at the border or if the car isn't sniffed by the dogs. Even if it makes the 24 hr trip from Provincial Mexico to Houston a little bit longer Ill do it. As a true American ill go that extra mile so that security is present in my country. So i advise those people to tough it out b/c an airplane is like a holiday inn compared to a double cab Chevy with 6 passenger!

I'm starting to have VERY unfavorable and downright Disguted view of Muslims in general. after reading how CAIR and all these selfish inconsiderate cry babies want to trample on everbody else' Rights and feelings, and won't give a single inch! ... how can i not?

Muslims simply will and Cannot see any fault in their own behaviour. I'll bet anything that even after an American or Western city is Nuked by extremists , they will still say that we are picking on MUSLIMS by protecting ourselves and our rights. even though it was done by Muslims.

It sickens me beyond words. I feel like i live in the Bizarro world where up is Down and WRONG is Right, and we can't say a Damn thing about it cause that would make US intolerant!!

This Crap is going to come to a head and then They will truly know what Persecution feels like. they ARE asking for it, and they know it. they are testing and testing and we have to say NO MORE!

You wanna talk about injustice and intolerance and persecution? talk to any NON Muslim in an Islamic land.

These Western Muslim Cry Babies don't know what the Hell they are whining about. they have it so good here that they can't take it. they are so used to being persecuted and Ruled over by Islam that they imagining things that are not even there.

I really wish someone in a High place would set a precedent and tell them to like it or lump it.

Go back to the holes you ESCAPED from if we are soooo terrible!!

Alert,
I'd like to thank you for the link http://www.sauduction.com/

I have just spent the last hour perusing the sick deeds of the degenerates that dare to call themselves royalty. It is a tough read. What is not specifically detailed is all to easy to imagine. I am sickened that Americans, (some elected, but many not), we have entrusted to ensure our security callously collect dirty money from the saudis while their countrymen languish in sexual servitude to men and women with vile, black souls only to be dumped in the desert when they no longer serve their purpose.

It provides with me with more ammo to pass along to show that the saudis are not our friends.....we have no allies in islam. And since the arabs are the "best of all peoples", the saudi family just demonstrates in the modern era how mohammed manipulated the "word of allah" to justify his gluttonous behavior just as the saudis manipulate Washington et all with the reward of riches, Washington's 'allah' it seems.

I would like to see a 8 foot x 12 foot picture of the twin towers exploding on 9/11 at every airport security check-in, together with a large billboard of pics of the 19 murderers, with a subtitle, ANYONE SEE ANYBODY LOOKING LIKE THESE GUYS?

It might help people stay focused, and who could possibly be offended?

CAIR will only become credible when we hear them demand the right for Christians to build churches in Saudi, the right to carry a bible in to Saudi, the rights of a Christian to wear a cross around theie neck when in Saudi and request that the Al Aqsa mosque be torn down and Temple Mount returned to its rightful owners the Jews and the Church in Istanbul retuned to the Christians. But hey its not about to happen is it, protecting Taxi Drivers rights to discriminate illegally against customers and manufactured outrage are CAIR's stock in trade.

As I always say, with exposing islamic sexual behaviours as priority we'll get islam into the corner.

Great findings.

so everybody don't be shy join the expositions. Islam has more ugly faces than only terrorism and taqiyya.

Robert, focus on this with one of your next books, that will do the job.

At one time I used to wonder how so many people fell under Hitler's spell. With the whirlwind of all that has happened since 9/11 and all that I've read and am currently seeing, I can say I think I understand how that is possible. I'm seeing people right in front of me not take this stuff seriously. It is frightening. I can't and won't ever get out of my mind the images of those planes hitting the towers. I watched the second one hit as it was happening and then I watched both towers slide down to the ground.

People should be angry....very angry..yet the liberals direct it to the wrong person/people. I was an independent but seeing how scary the liberals have been with this, no way could I ever be associated with them.

Thanks for the link UnmahNews

Ravitz said Boxer had asked her staff to contact the FBI and urge it to investigate the death threat.

AP

I like this line. Barbara Boxer is smart for a Dem from CA. Investigations tend to flow both ways, just like water.
It gives the FBI good reason to look more closely at CAIR.
All the while checking out the "Death threat".

Let CAIR monitor the treatment of non-Muslims in the Muslim dominated countries.

Let CAIR bring about the return of the temple-converted-to-mosque sites in India back to the Hindus.

Then CAIR will have credibility.
