Another teacher murdered in southern Thailand; junta allows teachers to carry weapons

Thai Jihad Update. "Thailand extends emergency rule in south," from AFP:

BANGKOK (AFP) - Thailand's junta extended emergency rule in the restive south and said teachers there can carry arms, in an apparent return to strong-arm tactics after attempts at reconciliation.
The new government, installed after the September 19 coup, has tried to promote peace in the Muslim-majority region, where separatist violence has killed more than 1,800 since January 2004.
But the bloodshed has continued, prompting the Council for National Security (CNS), as the junta calls itself, to extend emergency rule for three more months in Yala, Narathiwat and Pattani provinces.
[...]
Thailand's military-backed government had said in late October that it would end emergency rule in January, after it revived a key regional mediation body and offered a series of other olive branches to the insurgents.
But the militants have not yet taken up the government's peace initiatives, and violence has spiralled, with civilians increasingly targeted.
Some 65 teachers and 10 students have been killed in the three southern provinces since the insurgency erupted, and 110 schools -- seen as easy targets representing the government -- have been set ablaze.
The fatal shooting Wednesday of a 39-year-old Muslim female teacher in Pattanit highlighted the problem, prompting Prime Minister Surayud Chulanont to hold an emergency security meeting in Bangkok.
After the meeting, the regional southern army commander agreed to allow teachers to arm themselves outside of working hours.
"It's up to the teachers, but I personally don't want teachers to get involved in fighting, because their duty is to teach," Lieutenant General Viroach Buacharoon told reporters.
"But they can be armed when they're on a private trip and out of working hours."
The military also agreed to step up patrols around schools.
"Security measures will vary depend on the school's location, but soldiers and police will be deployed during teaching hours. In some cases they will patrol around the school buildings," Viroach said.
The announcement came as the nation was still mourning the death Monday of a teacher who spent eight months in a coma after she was taken hostage and beaten at a school in Narathiwat.

If Eric Harris, Dylan Klebold were still alive, it might have been a good idea to transfer them from Columbine to Pattanit. Think of it, maybe all kids who plot school shootings on myspace.com should be sent there as exchange students, making sure that the Thai exchange students who come here would be Buddhists from Bangkok or elsewhere in Thailand.

It's getting worse. Interior minister, also a muslim tries to shut down media on the terror issues on the South.

Yesterday Army General in chief, Mr. Sonthi, a muslim of course, ordered media not to report about ousted prime minister Thaksin.

When this item was broadcast by Radio Australia's "world service" yesterday a.m., it was noted that 68 teachers have been murdered in the last couple of years.

I guess it's all because of the occupation of Iraq and Palestine.

/sarcasm.

Finally, at last someone besides ourselves understands a very basic lesson: An armed citizenry is a lot less likely to be the victims of crime and violence than a disarmed one. Muslim thugs, like most criminals, are going to be a lot less likely to attack people who they know are capacble of defending themselves. That is probably one of the main reasons we have not suffered the same muslim rioting they are suffering in countries with heavy gun control laws such as France or the occassional muslim assaults on innocent citizens such as in England or Australia.

ISLAM = SEPERATISM
DEMOCRACY = LIVING TOGETHER

Why do you think every boarder or mixed nations of have conflict with Islam? It's Iron trying to mix with clay it does not work. There is no Islamic democracy party but you will find a Christian democracy in this world and people can mix if people are wondering if it's religion's fault. The Problem is the book they read and it takes usually an educated Western Muslim to tell us they are not reading it right. I know nothing about Buddhism but for some reason I don't see them having the same mentality what do they read? It must be good. But apart from that it seems evident everyday that Islam is too self centred to conform to another system and the Muslim people who are in a big pond of democracy will do everything in their path to change it.

It's not the people to blame it's the ideology, not many Muslims in their millions migrate to China or Russia to try and fit in even it's closer than what America is.

It is time once again for historical lessons to be implemented. When Mormons were armed and dangerous in the mid 1800's they were basically outlawed and is the reason they all ended up in Utah and eventually were at war with the United States government.
The same holds true with the "ghost dance" messiah craze the defeated Sioux started which almost caused a genocidal war to erupt as the ghost dance was outlawed.
Whenever violent ideologies are expressed, they should be as a group pursued by all civilized governments until they are no more. No one is crying persecution for the "christian identity" movement in the government going after them, so from Thailand to America let the gloves come off on these Muslims and give them the war they are terrorizing for.
American law used to allow shooting Indians if they were in groups larger than 3. It seems shocking now, but it stopped the Indians from rapine.
The same laws should be enacted now in when a Muslim imam stands up and calls for the destruction of a staning government he should be hung as should all those who riot to defy it.
The reasons Muslims misbehave is because they are allowed to be deviates. The reason Mormons and Indians are the peaceful vibrant cultures they are today is because they were punished severely for taking up arms against peaceful people.
Free speech does not cover lying, inciting sedition, anarchy, treason or murder. This will surely "outrage" internet nuts like Alex Jones, Steve Quayle, Capitol Hill Blue and Jeff Rense in their anarchist religions, but it is time civility covers all peoples in trying to tear down governments which benefit everyone.
Executing swift justice ends murderers murdering is the proven historical fact.

Lame Cherry,

I really enjoyed your last post! It is nice to see someone else is studying real history and not the watered-down, falsified, PC version where Caucasian men are blamed for everything. I agree with you. I have thoroughly studied the War of 1812 and the Creek War. Under the notorious William Weatherford and Tecumseh, the Creek and Old Northwest Indians committed some pretty horrific atrocities at Fort Mims, Alabama and Fort Dearborn (now Chicago, Illinois) against American settlers. Much of their murderous fury was stirred up by an Indian religious figure known as "the Prophet," Tecumseh's brother. Like the Muslim Imams today, The "Prophet" told the Indians to rise up and exterminate the American settlers because his spirits and spells would protect them from American bullets. It was only after they had been badly beaten by Generals Terry, Tyler, and Jackson in battle that the Indians lost faith in him and his "religion" and were willing to live peacefully with American settlers. Our generals then saw absolutely no reason to accomodate dangerous religious beliefs which threatened the lives and freedom of our citizens. Nor should we now. Of course, back then, our leaders were a lot tougher and a lot wiser......

Get real; I can trust an educated Teacher to protect and defend me from killers, besides, everyone knows, Police will not protect, only if they're safe to do so.

All Teachers should be required to carry Glock's to protect children as well as themselves !

"Johnny, now sit down! "Bang!" "Yes Miss Ratchet."

To Lame Cherry:

Greetings. I recall from my American history, Mormons were never dangerous to anyone. They were driven out of New York, where they began, to Ohio and then to Missouri. Finally, they simply left the United States and went westward to what is today Utah, which was not even part of the united states at the time. Eventually, when the US army did arrive to claim the Utah territory, they found a fertile land and successful people living in peace. The US army threatened to invade the Salt Lake Valley and kill all men, women and children if they Mormons did not submit to American rule. The Mormons threatened to burn all crops ensuring the army would starve as winter was almost upon them. A peace treaty was accepted and the next year the Mormons voluntarily allowed their land to join the union as a territory but they ensured they retained political control. The reason the Mormons were hated was that they practiced a kind of socialism through tithing that resulted in church members becoming much more well off than the other dominant Christian sects around them. Mormons were never violent to the majority around them. They were simply discriminated against.

Your comments about shooting more than three Indians don’t really do much to help our case about the Muslim terrorists in our south, either. It just is not very nice speech. Besides, Muslims account for over 70% of the southern population; what are we supposed to do, shoot them all? Not a very practical or religious solution. By the way, the American army is the first known example of using bioterror; they gave blankets infected with small pox to the Indians that had no resistance to the disease. I remember my history very well.

Please post useful comments that can help our cause not make us more trouble. Thank you.
