CAIR charges 40 kept from post-Hajj flight -- Northwest says they were late for flight

CAIR has found what it has been fishing for -- or thinks it has. But it looks as if they're trying to make something out of people being late for their flight.

"40 kept from Detroit flight, council says: Northwest: Muslim pilgrims were late," by Shabina S. Khatri for the Detroit Free Press, with thanks to all who sent this in:

Thousands of American Muslims returned to Michigan this month exhausted in body but revitalized in spirit after performing the hajj, a pilgrimage to Mecca, Saudi Arabia, that is a religious duty.

But not all travelers had an easy time getting home.

The Michigan chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations is expected to hold a news conference today regarding the treatment of 40 American Muslim pilgrims - some from Canton, Dearborn and Dearborn Heights - who were allegedly denied passage on a flight to Detroit.

The men were reportedly denied boarding on Northwest Airlines Flight 51 from Germany on Jan. 7. CAIR-Michigan is asking the Federal Aviation Administration to investigate the incident.

Northwest spokesman Roman Blahoski said Monday that the passengers were denied boarding because they arrived for the flight just 20 minutes before departure, a violation of airline and governmental regulations.

"These passengers did not meet the standard check-in deadline of 60 minutes or onboard deadline of 20 minutes," he said. "It's nothing beyond that."

Debbie Schlussel has more, about the ties of Shi'ite Imam Hassan Qazwini, who is leading the complaints, to Hizballah.

Get your butts to the airport on time and there won't be any problems. Of course it helps to get there way early because of all the security checks and whatnot. I think that came about as a result of 9/11 which I believe was a Muslim production. You reap what you sow you damned Islmaniac idiots.

Yeah, it's like it never occurred to them that it just might be their fellow Islamists actions that are causing problems for everyone now at air-ports.

Will this organization be openly identified in the media as misrepresenting the facts when it is shown that they tried to portray another natural occurance as anti-arab, anti-Muslum?

" 40 American Muslim pilgrims""

....no such thing.....they might be Muslims in America. but in a recent survey sent to the Muslims, the overwhelming majority considered themselves Muslims first.....I believe they were truthful...

....They are simply awaiting their marching orders.....

Ever notice there was never a Scottish, German, Slavic, Chinese or Russian - American group whining about rights for 200 years and these people just worked their butts off and became Americans.

CAIR must now demand that Muslims were deprived of America because Indians and Vikings got here first.

I can only conclude the government allows these twirps to rant as it is easier for Homeland to watch them in their zoo than lurking in the bushes.

Fere's the loop:

Step 1: Threaten to sue.
Step 2: Northwest will make concessions.
Step 3: Go back to step 1.

Forget Northwest, it’s a cold ride and they search under infidels fingernails. Fly safe fly nomo airlines. Oh that’s right we don’t have one of those yet. I want a separate terminal for us infidels. I am after all a filthy non believer so what are they complaining about?

Posted by: tgusa [TypeKey Profile Page] at January 17, 2007 3:54 PM

Sounds like we need to fly Northwest. I'm glad they were doing their job. I haven't heard anything about this on the news yet.

CAIR is asking for it. Soon they will get what they're asking for--and it isn't what they want.

CAIR is a subversive organization operating in the United States. It must be declared so, and it's officials and members prosecuted.

I think we are all WAY to patient and accomodating with these shenanigans. I'd also like to cross-reference who among these passengers are on welfare or on unemployment.

Taxpayers should not be subsidizing these flights.

PLEASE boycott Northwest, o moslems :-) Then I'll now where to book from now on!

Posted by: MeanieMo [TypeKey Profile Page] at January 17, 2007 5:10 PM

All kinds of people are late for flights. Someone I know did not bother to check her ticket, and as a consequence several people did not arrive at Heathrow on September 18, 1978 but rather on September 19, 1978, which is when the mistake was discovered. The airline was implacable: that mistake cost a thousand dollars. But no one complained; they were in the wrong. Those who are late, are late. It's their problem. And that includes those just back from stoning the devil and walking seven times widdershins around the Magic Wonderstone.

Let's face it; it is the ACLU and the overwhelming batteries of trial lawyers who are dictating the shots in America today. You want politically correct, or the perversion of multiculturalism ? They are the ones who keep it in play by filing lawsuits at adnauseam.

Every year that President Bush has given his State of the Union Address to the nation, and congress he has called for a cap on what trial lawyers can sue for and every year congress has shot it down.

If you really want to be disgusted; note the results of this latest lawsuit against American Airlines who was accused of racial profiling.

Posted by: sounder [TypeKey Profile Page] at January 17, 2007 5:35 PM

First US Air, now Northwest - guys, better be careful what you're wishing for - you may get it. If all airlines start developing backbones, how do we reward any one of them over the other?

Also, why are they coming back? Since Mecca is such a great place, why not just settle there? As it is, KSA is flush with oil - just settle there, and start collecting government subsidies. Better than having to work back home in the US, and that to with/for infidels.

At least the airline hasn't accepted this verdict. They may appeal. God bless them if they do.

Does anybody besides me see the irony that group of American Muslims are complaining about being discriminated against when they are going to show their devotion to their religion in a place where 99% of their fellow citizens would be killed just for being there?????

Posted by: Bob B [TypeKey Profile Page] at January 17, 2007 5:43 PM

There's something not quite right, here.

I caught this item on Neil Cavuto's show, on which Hassan Qazwini stated that their flight from SA to Germany was late for the connection to Northwest.

None of the news reports I've seen refers to that.

If they were late because of their own actions; no sympathy.

If they were late because of a connecting flight; well a polite apology from NW should be all that's needed.

Either way; if they were too late to connect; that's life.

But remember; in the old days (pre 9/11) such connections could happen in mere minutes.

There's a reason we endure those security checks, Hassan.

Posted by: PRCS [TypeKey Profile Page] at January 17, 2007 5:44 PM

Thousands of people fail to make flights and many of the missed connections are because of security checks that are neccessary because of the threat of jihadis. Sounds a little like they were hoisted by their own petard. How tragic..how positively tragic. Don't forget to mention that you are returning from mecca...that and $1.60 will get you a small coffee at Starbucks.

Posted by: pismopal [TypeKey Profile Page] at January 17, 2007 6:07 PM

It is easy for any of us to miss connecting flights - this happens from time to time all over the place, especially going in and out of large hubs.

"Get your butts to the airport on time and there won't be any problems. Of course it helps to get there way early because of all the security checks and whatnot. I think that came about as a result of 9/11 which I believe was a Muslim production. You reap what you sow you damned Islmaniac idiots.

When will someone startup "Infidel Air"? Pigskin seat covers, pork sandwiches for inflight meals (roast pork tenderloin and taters in 1st class), and small dogs allowed.

No discrimination, anyone can fly, just no special requests allowed.

That way, us Infidels won't need as much security, and the mooslims will have more time to get through the gate since they would have to wait for us to take off any way.

Whaddya think fellow Infidels?

Northwest apologizes, vows to reimburse Muslims barred from flight

http://www.detnews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070117/UPDATE/701170462

Andrea Newman, the senior vice-president for government relations, said she will travel to Metro Detroit on Friday to discuss those issues and others with Imam Sayed Hassan al-Qazwini, the clergyman at the largest mosque in the country, the Islamic Center of America, and others who were affected by the snafu. Many of the pilgrims had to pay for hotel accommodations and some are still awaiting the delivery of their luggage, and Newman vowed that the airline would consider reimbursements for the accommodations and return the luggage.

The barring of residents of Metro Detroit from the fight, which upset many of the Muslims returning from the once-in-a-lifetime experience of making the Hajj, should not have occurred, Newman said. The situation, she said, resulted from a series of mistakes involving a German travel agency, the baggage handlers for the previous chartered flight from Saudi Arabia to Germany and misleading information on a printed ticket that the passengers had received, .

Newman said from her Washington, D.C., office that she would review the series of events in meetings with the passengers, Qazwini and representatives of the Council on American Islamic Relations, which has complained about the treatment of the passengers.

"This was not our mistake," Newman said. "We try very had to make sure that everyone is treated the same, and it is an important community to Northwest, as are all communities."

This maggot Al-Qazwini is one of the main Hajj/NorthWestAirlines complainers
---->>>

Dr. Sayed Mustafa Al-Qazwini, the founder and Director of the Islamic Educational Center of Orange County
In a speech entitled "Challenges facing Muslims," the Al-Qazwini, uncle of AIEF founder and lead Imam Sayed Mohammad Jawad Al-Qazwini, tries to explain away the Qur'anic verse, "O you who believe, do not take the Jews and Christians as friends." (Al Ma'idah, Surah 5:51) He stated: "Qur'an is not saying do not follow Jews and Christians because they are Jews and Christians. Qur'an is not anti-Semitic. Qur'an is anti-evil. Because they were evil. This specific group of Jews and Christians, who were in Medina at that time, were evil people. And Allah was telling the Muslims to avoid them, because they stood against justice and faith. Stubbornly, they rejected the truth. They did not let Prophet Muhammad to [sic] propagate the word of Allah."

In his 1999 book, "Invitation to Islam" Al-Qazwini wrote: "Since all the Judeo-Christian-Islamic prophets were sent sequentially, the question arises as to why Judaism, Christianity, and Islam now exist as separate religions. The answer is that the followers of these religions, particularly Judaism and Christianity, corrupted the original teachings given to them and ended up making sects of their own rather than following the pure word of G-d."

One time I showed up late to my gate in SFO. When I begged to be let on, the NWA counter people laughed in my face. Deeply offended, I asked what's so funny. Then I noticed them staring at my chest. This was back in my free spirit days and I wasn't wearing a shirt under my bib overalls. This particular pair of overalls was narrow on the topside, and my nipples were standing at attention on either side of the blue jean material. Erect from the cold drizzly San Francisco fog I had run through to enter the airport. This was before my chest hair turned gray, so I didn't see what the big deal was. Anyway, they disagreed and called Security to take me into custody. The Security dudes forced me to don a loaner tee shirt they had on hand if I wanted to stay in the concourse to wait for the next flight to MSP.

Maybe being late was my fault, but the erect nipple incident was a matter of circumstances and style. I was an innocent working guy being oppressed by the authorities.

I was deeply offended. I was humiliated. But I wasn't a Moslem. So I was unfairly forced to grouse for hours in a stupid orange tee shirt that did not match the particular hue of the bibs I was wearing that day.

lol! Good one. Nice to have a chuckle now and then.I am sure you didn't think it was funny back then.

I was held up in Las Vegas once with a girlfriend.
The moron couldn't understand our coupon pass ticket so he sent us to the top of the line. They searched all out hand luggage, which was full of "feminine hygene" products. I think they were more embarassed than we were. I asked why they had done this and I was told they thought we were terror supects! Two middle-aged Aussie women! We went away laughing our heads off!

And the scary thing is it was in 1997 - well and truly before 9/11.

I was also held up in Vegas in 2004. White powder on my handluggage. It was insecticide I get sprayed into my attic every year - and this is where I store my bags. They did tests on it: I was hand searched and let go.

Alarmed Pig Farmer, that is a deeply disturbing story. Deeply disturbing.

So, did a Senior Vice President from NWA fly out to dialogue with you after the gray-haired erect nipple non-matching-tee-shirt incident? And to profusely apologize for the inadvertant humiliation they caused? Oh, wait, what was I thinking. You're not a member of a religion that routinely threatens mayhem and violence over minor perceived slights.

Posted by: special_guest [TypeKey Profile Page] at January 17, 2007 9:28 PM

They never should have let these "pilgrims" back in. They were at the epicenter of paradise. Why would they want to come back? Perhaps to stir up a little trouble?

after the gray-haired erect nipple non-matching-tee-shirt incident

No no no, special_guest!

Back then the my big tufts of chest hair were dark brown. And thankfully so at that, given my deep shame about the B-cups dangling from my manly chest. The bushes of brown hair kept them hidden.

As I aged, they've become much more visible through the gray chest hair tufts. Even my hogs have demanded that I wear tee shirts during the hot summer months. I resisted, but when they staged a hunger strike to protest, I had no choice but to comply.

But I was bitter about that. So what I did was go to the INS job board office down in Nashville and hired a Moslem to tend my hogs. This dude was one very angry Yemeni. Cain't tell you how things turned out, but it wasn't purty.

Posted by: Alarmed Pig Farmer [TypeKey Profile Page] at January 17, 2007 9:47 PM

Oh goodness. I'm surprised Haji pilgrims coming back from Saudi Arabia didn't fake a complaint about, say, being manhandled by security. This was the best civil rights infringement complaint they could come up with? Losers.

BTW, I'm new here, at least as a poster. The dead poetess uswan insan al-kamil murdered is back.

Alarmed Pig Farmer continued to provide entirely too much disturbing visual imagery

Even my hogs have demanded that I wear tee shirts during the hot summer months.

Have you tried a burqa? I'm sure it would work quite well on those humid July afternoons.

Sorry to hear that about the angry Yemeni. I hope that no-ones delicate digestive tracts were disturbed for too long.

What were the intervening events, I wonder?

With the onslaught of lawsuits initiated by CAIR on behalf of terrorist muslims living in America, our judicial system should be on the verge of collapse. Not to mention our law enforcement agencies, which have been inundated with CAIR's bogus complaints of discrimination; islamophobia; imaginary hate crimes; death threats against innocent sheiks and imams; and many other assorted bogus complaints of muslim victimhood. The FBI might as well assign ten or twenty agents to work full time out of CAIR headquarters, since they file new complaints and demands for investigations every day. CAIR's incessant demands on the FBI's time and resources leave genuine Americans vulnerable to muslim crime and terror attacks, which is probably part of the overall scheme.

Not a day goes by that CAIR's strident exhortations are not broadcast on the cable news channels and printed in the newspapers. Surely there are more important news stories than these hackneyed, repetitious canards from arrogant, supremacist muslims. Hooper and company might hope to elicit sympathy, anger, and indignation from the public with these sad tales of abuse and islamophobia, but they are having the opposite effect. CAIR and muslims are despised more every day in America. Just when I think I couldn't loathe them any more, I do.

Posted by: Susanp [TypeKey Profile Page] at January 18, 2007 2:33 AM

For a well-oiled (in every sense), PR/flak group, CAIR's incompetence is mind-boggling, from the convicted terrorists holding significant positions, to the failed defamation case against Andrew Whitehead of Anti-CAIR, the six imams removed from a flight following an obviously set-up provocation and Dougie Hooper's clumsy dodge of Paula Zahn on the matter of condemning Hamas and Hezbollah. Now we are looking at what is likely another orchestrated incident, complete with the pre-Hadj PR about airlines having to be more user-friendly to Hadj travellers.

The Detroit Free article doesn't provide enough details as to why 40 people and seemingly didn't make the same flight and how that would compare to a typical flight. Were they travelling to the airport together on a bus, as members of the same tour group or did they arrive at the airport by various conveyances? Was there a traffic incident that they got caught up in? Or was this yet another "false flag" like the Minnesota Six [Imams]?

I hope this story gets the thorough scrutiny it deserves, as far more likely than not, it will merely serve to further undermine CAIR's lousy credibility.

Posted by: STONEFACE48 [TypeKey Profile Page] at January 18, 2007 12:59 PM

To Muslims:

NWA should not have apologized.

Either they were up to no good and deserved to be 'barred' from the flight, or they were just late and are acting like a bunch of whining little babies because they missed their connecting flight.

This happens to all of us, and we don't get an apology.

And don't act as though you shouldn't be examined and re-examined for looking like a terrorist. Yes, that's right, if you're a Muslim, you might be a terrorist. What a shocker.

You know what the entire Western world wants? An apology from every Muslim for 9-11-01, and all the other acts of terror committed by Muslims. But that won't happen, because Muslims don't apologize for their actions, not to mention that you'd need to reduce your entire vocabulary to 'sorry' just to get through enough apologies to cover everything done in the name of Allah.

Yeah, yeah, I already hear you saying, 'but what about Christians and Jews...blah, blah, blah.' That's your response to every criticism of Islam, isn't it. Well one thing is certain; no one needs to worry about anyone other than a Muslim on an airplane.
