The jihad against education continues, with its fighters eager to stamp out any future ideological challenge, especially from women. By Sameer N. Yacoub for Associated Press:
BAGHDAD, Iraq - Mortar shells rained down Sunday on a girls' secondary school in a mostly Sunni area of western Baghdad, killing five pupils and wounding 20, witnesses and police said. At least seven other people died in a series of bombings and shootings across the capital, mostly in Shiite areas.

Sunday's mortar attack occurred about 11 a.m. at the Kholoud Secondary School in the Adil neighborhood of western Baghdad, police and school officials said. Several projectiles exploded in the courtyard, shattering windows and spraying pupils with glass. AP Television News footage showed blood smeared on the stone steps and walkways.
Hours after the attack, grieving parents wept as the bodies of the victims were placed inside wooden coffins. Police said four girls were killed instantly and a fifth died later. AP television footage showed the fin from one of the mortars lying in a walkway.

Sorry...OT...just picked up this article, entitled "Fury as Council axes Holocaust memorial service", from LGF:
Many of the comments are enough to make one ill. If any of you feels strongly enough that Holocaust Rememberance Day ought to be about the Holocaust, and not about the complete fiction of moral equivalence (i.e. "Genocide Day"), please take a minute to vote "No, I don't agree with Bolton Council's decision to scrap its Holocaust Memorial Day ceremony?" (on the side-bar).

That's a very good point. Muslim women are part of the problem. It is astonishing to watch a whole bunch of people (muslim women in this case) actually demanding slavery for themselves. It is almost like having a "Jews for Hitler" group. It is truly bizarre.

I remember Taslima Nasrin posing a similar rhetorical challenge in a recent article posted at Dhimmi Watch. A few thoughts on that:
The effects of actually being mentally deficient, and being hamstrung by being taught from birth that you are, can be quite similar. There are always people who have the self-awareness and conviction about what they are capable of, and buck that trend, but they are, unfortunately, generally in the minority.
Add to that the inherent human desire to be "good" at what one finds (or what an environment implies) to be meaningful, important, or a source of satisfaction-- anything from playing tennis to religious observance: You'll do whatever you can to improve, especially in the latter case, which carries the force of divine will/law.
Jihadists' inhumanity often reminds me of the Milgram Experiment, which demonstrated the power of perceived authority to overrule an individual's existing distaste for causing suffering. Compare this with Allah's words to fence-sitters concerning the waging of jihad:
Fighting is prescribed for you, and ye dislike it. But it is possible that ye dislike a thing which is good for you, and that ye love a thing which is bad for you. But Allah knoweth, and ye know not. (2:216)
Hence, you find a person's willingness to tie half their brain behind their back, making them ripe for exploitation, especially in a system like that of Islamic law, which is especially dangerous and dysfunctional in that it regulates every last detail of life in this way.
And yes, there are women who cynically wrangle some power out of this system of gender apartheid by making it their mission to oppress other women in the name of Islamic piety-- both blurring the line between victim and victimizer and continuing the cycle.
And, therein lies the danger that education-- especially of women, who are supposed to be the most submissive, silent, and unseen members of Muslim society-- poses to the jihad. Free and critical inquiry, and submission and "Inshallah" fatalism, can't coexist. One might realize he/she possesses more than half a brain, contrary to what they've been told.

I happen to read blogs by several Islamically subjacated women, and I find that there is a growing subculture in Saudia Arabia, Iran and Pakistan, believing that the subhuman, abusive culture of Islam may, MAY be on the way out. Thanks to the Internet, and the thousands of ways to get-around blocks of all pursuasions, Muslim women are one key to thwarting Islamic domination.
These anonymous bloggers are just one hope, just one front in this war of Civilization, and a growing number of women in Muslim countries are seeing that.

Blowing up innocent little girls. This has to be the most outrageous, despicable crime on the planet, yet it is so commonplace in the world of Islam, it's become routine. I'll be surprised to see this story on the front page of any major newspaper; what with Hillary kissing babies in Iowa.

I bet many muslims will just consider it a preventive honor killing, after all thats 5 less potential whores, dancers, club goers, car drivers, jean wearers, daters of boys outside the family, smokers, hair and face exposers, lipstick wearers, singers, etc. don't expect a muslim outcry.

The brave freedom fighters are standing up for their principles against the forces of tyranny! There goes the Iraqi embodiment of George Washington, firing mortars at a girls' school!".

What is the problem with the Islamists?
Were they afraid to attack something of substance, like a military patrol...you know, something that will shoot back...
Islam chooses the weak targets, much like the people that choose to convert to Islam...
Islam hates the truth, hates education (especially for women), and yet the women are learning and this could be a valuable weapon against Islam...
I wonder if the Muslim male/female ratio is changing...Could we see the day when the Muslim females outnumber the Muslim males?...It seems entirely possible .....
