Hamas: 'Attack is legitimate resistance'

This story refers to a jihad martyrdom attack in an Israeli bakery (thanks to KA for the link). And of course this response is predictable. Everything Hamas does is legitimate. Every step Israel takes in response is illegitimate. Once you grasp that simple rule, you're ready for prime time, or a job at Reuters.

From the Jerusalem Post, with thanks to the Constantinopolitan Irredentist:

A Hamas spokesman defended Monday's suicide bombing in Eilat as legitimate "resistance" against Israel.

Fawzi Barhoum called the attack a "natural response" to IDF policies in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, as well as its ongoing boycott of the Hamas-led Palestinian Authority government. "So long as there is occupation, resistance is legitimate," he said.

He also said attacks on Israel were preferable to the recent bout of Palestinian infighting in Gaza. "The right thing is for Fatah weapons to be directed toward the occupation not toward Hamas," he said.

Fatah weapons paid for by the U.S. and Israel.

The Fatah-affiliated Al Aksa Martyrs Brigades, the Islamic Jihad, and a new group calling itself "Army of Believers" claimed responsibility for Monday's attack in Eilat that killed three people.

Meanwhile, the Islamic Jihad posted a statement on its Web site Monday saying that it had engineered the bombing in an attempt to "focus Palestinians' attention away from killing each other," Sky News reported.

Why all this "resistance"? Gaza was given to these people so "palestine" is a fact. Why aren't they building up their paradise state? Could it be that the palestinians are the worst of losers?

OT, but thought it was interesting that an Arab Muslim was awarded such a high ranking position in Israel's government. I find this quote a little nerving....

"He has predicted that in the future, every Israeli government will be obliged to include an Arab minister."

Obliged?

"Israeli Cabinet approves Muslim minister"

Isn't this exactly what Abbas called for?

Nothing like a good old Jew-murder to relieve the jangled nerves of a Moslem.

Posted by: ISLAMSFORLOSERS end quote. Is exactly right.

The buy out or swap out solution is the only solution. The Palestinians must move to Arab lands. They have a per capita income of about 1300 dollars a year. (In looking at statistics, its important to distinguish purchasing power parity and actual income, which are different.)

Per capita income in Syria and Egypt is also about 1300 dollars per year. Jordan may be somewhat higher.

Israeli income is 20000 dollars per year, higher in PPP. There are fewer than one Palestinian per Israeli, now. If all the Palestinians left, Israel could pay the new host country 1300 dollars per year to cover the extra costs of these people.

Israeli per capita income would go up by at least 10 percent, 2000 dollars per year, if all of the Palestinians were gone from the West Bank and Gaza.

Plus the Palestinians would still earn 1300 per year in their new lands. They would get services from the money given to the governments, with half passed through to them, and half for schools, roads, police, etc.

Egypt already does nothing for the money it gets from the US. As Hugh pointed out, they shouldn't have gotten Sinai in the first place. The US payments to them can also help pay for this buy out.

gotham:

I presume you mean "unnerving".

The Arab population of Israel is about 20%, so it is not beyond imagining reasonable representation at senior levels of government, and, indeed there is an Arab judge who was recently appointed to a very senior level of court. The issue is whether the person is question is inclined and honour bound toward acting lawfully and as a loyal citizen of the country, and I would venture to say that there may be a larger constituency of Arab Israelis who qualify than the MSM, Jimmy Carter, et al give us reason to believe.

Early last week I read of a poll conducted by an Arab think tank (Jerusalem based, I believe) that found that a large majority of Israel's Arab citizens are quite satisfied with their citizenship status and also acknowledged the fact that they are not free to say as much publicly. And not, I don't think these people are all taqiya masters into the slow jihad. If they were, I suggest that there would be a lot more murder and mayhem within Israel's borders than we are seeing. A lot more.

Yeah everytime I see a bakery my heart fills with rage too................. :P Idiots!

perhaps its not such a bad idea of giving guns to Abbas's boys, they just cannot help themsevles and start killing each other faster than if IDF wanted to kill them and get away with it. better let your enemy do the job faster and not get blamed for it.
sort of like what Patton said about winning the war, its not dying for your country, but letting your enemy die for his country.

I am not the sharpest tool in the shed, but even I could see this one coming. It was the obvious Islamic play.

Hmm... I wonder where in Eilat this bakery was? I spent 2 days in Eilat in November.. including about 7 hours one day wondering from cafe to cafe downtown while waiting for the next available bus back north..

Old Atlantic-

I like your idea of moving out the palestinians. The problem is that none of their brothers want those losers either. Jordan had enough of them back in 1970-the palestinians ran to Israel for help because their brothers didn't like the fact that they tried overthrowing their king. The rest of the ummah doesn't seem to want them either-too violent I suppose. Besides, according to Illah, Israel belongs to them anyway-they had a paradise there once upon a time before those evil Jews spoiled it. Illah would not be happy if they were to be "bribed" out of their "birthright.

"focus attention away from killing each other"

And just how long would that last????----10 minutes --half an hour--half a day.

The real question?-----Just how long can you keep a demon inspired blood lust for killing under control??

This attack came after money was released to the Palestinians and Isreal eased travel restrictions by removing some checkpoints. Doesn't this attack show the treachery of the Palestinians and the futility of negotiations with them?

I heard a "report" from a CTV "journalist" -- she sounded even worse than most pro-jihadists in Gaza. She was all smiling and beaming, and talking about how they (the Pals plus reporter?) could barely contain their happiness and pride. Again, I cannot believe what I'm hearing from the MSM. They are jihadist dupes...all I can say...I guess they want to emulate the BBC and CBC.
