US Judge ok's case against accused jihad-funding bank

A major victory. "US oks cases against accused terror-funding bank, from AP, with thanks to Gabrielle Goldwater:

Israelis and other foreign nationals can pursue claims in US courts accusing the Jordan-based Arab Bank of promoting Palestinian suicide attacks by funneling Saudi money to bombers' families, a judge ruled.

In a written decision in federal court in Brooklyn, US District Judge Nina Gershon upheld a lawsuit Monday filed under US law that gives non-US citizens access to courts in order to challenge violations of international laws or treaties.

Clearly, this is an Islamophobe court decision. It is absurdly obvious that these courts are working hand in hand with the Jewish lobby. I hope Jimmy Carter, the Sunday school teacher, is watching this and uses his Saudi money to overturn this islamophobe decision.

Saudi money goes through a Jordanian Bank (to conceal it's origin?) where it ends up in the hands of suicide bombers' families. How can that be the jurisdiction of a US Court? And how will a judgement be enforced? Shouldn't the Saudi's be ultimately liable for damages? There are many unanswered questions here, but I'm impressed nonetheless that it's moving forward.

This is a good thing.

Slowly these lawsuits will drain middle east investments in the United States as they are seized to satisfy the lawsuits.

It will be amusing when entire banks are seized as the results of some Palestinian blowing himself up.

The Saudi’s are worried about this too. A somewhat dated link from a Harvard ‘consultant’ (on the payroll) is interesting:

Many Saudi investors are also concerned about becoming victims of lawsuits. Saudi and other foreign investors with no complicity whatsoever with 9/11 or links to terrorism nevertheless perceive the aggressive efforts of an army of U.S. lawyers and entrenched interest groups to "link and accuse" foreigners in a broad net of litigation.

Pez,

It couldn't happen to a nicer group. And hooray for these lawsuits. Maybe if our lawyers are busy going after Saudi $$$ (think of the retainer fees?!!!) they'll leave the rest of us alone.

Posted by: Isabellathecrusader [TypeKey Profile Page] at January 30, 2007 10:53 PM

Attention, all class-action lawyers! Forget about suits against the tobacco companies. That's now penny-ante stuff. The Saudis have some real money.
Of course, it might be hazardous duty. The wallaby chief muftis just might issue a fatwad against anyone trying to chisel money out of their buddies, the Saudi royals. A price of, say, $25 million on the head of the plaintiff's attorney might encourage him to not pursue the litigation. On the other hand, think of the lawyers' share of just one favorable verdict for the plaintiffs, with damages of, say $50 billion. I believe the lawyers usually get about 1/3, and with $16.7 billion one could buy some world-class bodyguards.

This is off topic but must be asked.

Why is it everytime some schmuck converts to islime the following occurs?

1. The urge to kill all non-muslims.
2. The urge to travel to a foreign nation to wage jihad against US troops.
3. The total collapse of ALL basic human hygiene care for their bodies.

Desire to kill, curse, leave your body to rot and decay due to lack of bathing.

DEMONIC POSSESSION MAY BE A POSSIBILITY.

Anyone ever watch The Haunting series on Discovery Channel?

You can also read this in the Bible as characteristics of evil.

Islam=evil.

Does anyone have an update on this:

August 16, 2002 Posted: 8:16 AM EDT (1216 GMT)

"It's up to us to bankrupt the terrorists," said Deena Burnett, whose husband was aboard the hijacked Flight 93 that crashed September 11.

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Acknowledging the odds are against them, relatives of the September 11 attacks filed a 15-count, $116 trillion lawsuit Thursday against the company run by Osama bin Laden's family, Saudi Arabian princes and Sudan.

The lawsuit was filed in U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia by more than 600 family members, plus some firefighters and rescue workers.

Calling themselves Families United to Bankrupt Terrorism, the plaintiffs are suing seven international banks; eight Islamic foundations, charities and their subsidiaries; individual terrorist financiers; the Saudi bin Laden Group; three Saudi princes; and the government of Sudan for allegedly bankrolling the terrorist al Qaeda network, Osama bin Laden and the Taliban.

The Saudi bin Laden Group is the construction company operated in Saudi Arabia by Osama bin Laden's brothers. Fifteen of the hijackers were Saudi Arabian, the FBI has said.

Deena Burnett, whose husband, Tom, was killed on hijacked Flight 93, which crashed in Pennsylvania, expressed optimism about the challenge at a news conference.

"It's up to us, and I think we can do it," she said. "It's up to us to bankrupt the terrorists and those who finance them so they will never again have the resources to commit such atrocities against the American people as we experienced on September 11."

Co-lead counsel for the lawsuit is attorney Allen Gerson, one of the attorneys who negotiated a $2.7 billion settlement between the Libyan government and families of 270 people killed when Pam Am Flight 103 was blown up over Scotland in 1988.

Among the allegations in the complaint, said attorney Ron Motley, are that certain members of the Saudi royal family have been active supporters of and helped fund al Qaeda and bin Laden.

The attorneys and investigators were able to obtain, through French intelligence, the translation of a secretly recorded meeting between representatives of bin Laden and three Saudi princes in which they sought to pay him hush money to keep him from attacking their enterprises in Saudi Arabia, Motley said.

Burnett's father in law, Thomas E. Burnett Sr., who also spoke at the news conference, said the group was "taking unprecedented legal action against those whose money financed the unspeakable evil that occurred on that tragic day."

Matt Sellitto, whose 23-year-old son Matthew died at the World Trade Center, told reporters: "His loss is incomprehensible to me. My heart continues to ache and will ache for the rest of my life."

"If the odds are stacked against us, we will beat them," Sellitto said. "And we will pursue this action until justice is served and terrorism is stopped."

Matthew Sellitto worked at the Cantor Fitzgerald brokerage house on the 105th floor of One World Trade Center.

It would be interesting to see how far the plaintiffs might have got - especially since many similar cases have been launched in the UK over 7/7.

Obviously, we cannot bankrupt terrorists since they mainly rely upon the 'black' economy - an economic state parallel to the official economy which, at the last count was valued at a sum which, in 2005, was roughly equivalent to 40% of the world's economic activity (the highest estimated level since 1740AD).

But, and most importantly, we can make life economically exceedingly difficult for the terrorist by invoking every single little law against them - as they are fighting a war of attrition against us then so can we, at least on this front, fight a similar war against them.

However, it has to be borne in mind that the vast bulk of illegal economic activity emanates from the psuedo-states in the islamic corner of the world - China's contribution pales into insignificance when viewed against the figures for Pakistan, Bahrein, Kuwait, Indonesia and Bangladesh which, between them, account for 90% of that 40%.

There are also worries related to trade and free movement. See:

http://counterterrorismblog.org/2007/01/links_between_terrorism_drug_t.php

but you will note, I hope, that the worries relate, in the main, to the usual dishonest, cheating and lieing moslems and seldom to the world's poor citizens such as those from the Congo or from the deprived areas of South America.

Economic warfare is being waged against us. Of that there is no doubt. Recently it has been estimated that over 75% of the free worlds' charitable contributions are spent in the developed and semi-developed psuedo-states within the islamic sphere of influence. Less than a quarter of our donations are actually spent helping the truly poor. Most of our charitable organisations have been hijacked by professional moslem whingers masquerading as caring human beings. Challenge your favourite charity's committee to provide a detailed breakdown of the charity's expenditure - particularly since the UN estimates that some 30% of all western charitable contributions ends up being spent on arms.

Need I say more?

Dominic.

Slightly off-topic, but the BBC is now reporting:

Eight people have been arrested under the Terrorism Act in Birmingham after a "significant" operation involving police and security service MI5.

A number of addresses in the city have been sealed off after morning raids.

Security sources have told the BBC the alleged plot would not have involved mass casualties but marked "a different approach to terrorism in the UK"...

Good weapon: Breaking the banks of Terrorism.

I'd like to know how they can afford their cashe of weapons? If we can cut that off, it'll certainly slow down extremitism. Can't blow yourself up with a fire-cracker anyway.

Posted by: Jeff [TypeKey Profile Page] at January 31, 2007 6:34 AM

Seizing their bank assets makes no sense if we are just going to keep giving them money and arms through government-funded foreign aid programs. Don't get me wrong. I'm all for it but it's like we are simply taking it out of one of their accounts and putting it right back into another of their one of their accounts. If we are going to rip out the financial guts of Islam, we have to stop giving aid (not to mention weapons) to organizations like the Palestinian Authority for more failed attempts at nation building. In fact, we should immediately cease all foreign aid programs (including so-called "humanitarian aid" for people who hate us and always will no matter what we do) to moslems everywhere and let them wallow in their own unsanitized dungheaps until the cholera and dysentary kills them all.

Quran top selling book in Denmark

BERLIN: The holy book of Islam, the Quran, has become a top selling book in Denmark one year after the blasphemous caricature crisis shook up the Danish society and the Muslim world, the Munich-based Focus news magazine reported on Monday. The Quran was ranked second during the important Christmas book sales period. Buyers of the Quran include many young Muslims who grew up in Denmark but do not speak Arabic. The Danish government has stepped up efforts in recent months to reach out to the Muslim community by hosting international Islam conferences and holding inter-religious dialogue seminars. SANA

I don't know, shall I laugh or cry?
Wouldn't it be much better to send them into that direction instead of changing toilets?

Toilets in one London prison are getting a face-lift — or rather, a change in direction — to accommodate Muslim inmates who can't use them while facing Mecca, a British newspaper reported.

Government officials ackowledged using tax dollars for the changes to the facilities, but maintained that moving the toilets was part of "on-going refurbishment," according to an article in The Sun.

Well, since Muslims have perfected their own form of word-of-mouth underground banking system, there's no way to completely stop the funding of Islamic terrorism by taking down false charities and crooked public banking system, but at least this is a step in the right direction.

ENGLAND : the muslism council indirectly admitted it wants sharia in the country

The leader of the conservative british party, Mr Cameron, said yesterday that the islamic jihadist who want to impose sharia and separate food for muslims are like the extremists of the nationalist British party.

In response, the secretary of the Muslim Council of Britain - moderate, according to the MSM - said this comparison between "dominant muslims organizations and fascism was disgraceful for muslims."

Yes, you read well. The Muslim Council of Britain aknowledged that the "dominant muslims organizations in the country want to impose sharia and separate food for muslims in Britain."

I call this a declaration of war.

Some comments coming from France

The muslims faithful followers told me that it will be the duty of the future muslim state of France to decide wether to impose the sharia or not, and while waiting it was no question of replacing the police forces. [...] If the risk is not present today, one might wonder if the French muslims would impose the sharia over the country if they had the possibility, or may we have an idea of the desire of this application ? In 1989, after the Rushdie's affair, the investigators of the SOFRES [French main pollster] published a survey (March 28-29, 1989) that concluded a good half of the muslims would not follow if were about to restore the sharia in all its rigor."

Seventeen years later, guess where is France heading ?

Posted by: DRZZ [TypeKey Profile Page] at January 31, 2007 9:36 AM

In the military, it's said that "amateurs study tactics, professionals study logistics". That's because generally the primary factor determining victory is which side managed to get more men, ammo, fuel and supplies to the battle.

In terrorism, it's finance rather than logistics. Amateurs worry about al-Queda, when you should really be paying more attention to the Golden Chain organization that's providing the money (see also here)

Osama is just the liaison between the money men and the terrorist operational command. Take him out, and the money men will find another (and most likely have found others by now who will stay more discrete). But if you focus on the money men, and take them out, then the terrorists have no funding and little ability to operate.

Find out who is financing the radical Imams and madrassas, take them out, and you have taken out the incubators of extremism

France is heading straight into the 'Enemies of Freedom' slot. How ironic is that?

Posted by: Foehammer [TypeKey Profile Page] at January 31, 2007 9:44 AM

DRZZ, regarding the situation in France: the objective is to turn the immigrant areas into "no-go" zones for French authorities. The purpose is to allow those areas to be places where terrorists can securely rest, plan operations, hold meetings, and conduct training without fear of arrest or surveillance

Posted by: PapaBear [TypeKey Profile Page] at January 31, 2007 9:48 AM

PapaBear, you are totally right.

In november 2006, a year after the riots, the French ministry of the Interior avised the police NOT to go in the banlieues, in order to appease the rioters.

France's policy has always been a mix of cowardice and felony.

Islamic teachings are no end of amusement. To them it's more disrespectful to islam to crap facing Mecca, than it is to turn around and more or less aim the crap at Mecca. Truly their ways of thinking are completely topsy-turvy. the islamic world is an insane asylum run by the inmates.
Changing the topic a bit, just how does one figure the direction of Mecca? For example, Cuba is on pretty much the same latitude as Mecca, so in Cuba, do believers face due east, along the line of latitude, in prayer; or do they face in the direction of shortest distance to Mecca, i.e. in the great-circle direction, somewhere to the north-east?
