An important new initiative is underway. Details at FrontPage:
The Islamic Mein Kampf. In a rational world, American universities would lead the way in exposing the noxious roots of Islamic terrorism. Instead of psychoanalyzing Rush Limbaugh or President Bush, they would devote their attentions to what makes terrorists tick. Readers of FrontPage Magazine are uniquely educated about the unholy alliance between academia and jihadists. Thus, we have launched the Terrorism Awareness Project -- www.TerrorismAwareness.org -- to educate college students directly.
In conjunction with the organization and website, we have produced the flash movie The Islamic Mein Kampf, as well as a scholarly pamphlet by the same name written by David Meir-Levi. Together, they provide a chilling and compelling testimony to the depths of bitter Islamic hatred and the threat a growing radical Muslim population poses to Europe, Israel, the United States, the Jewish people, and the world.
I am pleased to say that I'm part of this effort. From FrontPage today is also is this: "Introducing the Terrorism Awareness Project."
The David Horowitz Freedom Center has launched the Terrorism Awareness Project to combat the complacency and ignorance about the intentions of the radical Islamists who declared a holy war on the United States and the West on September 11, 2001.If one thing was clear in the aftermath of the attack, it was this: the terrorists would be back. But the alarms 9/11 set off were soon muted by complacency and self doubt. After overthrowing the Taliban, the U.S. soon returned to the illusion of peace and security and confusion of purpose that had marked the Clinton era, when the Jihad first began to strike against our America. Because of the campaign by the “anti-war” movement, our populace as a whole is ignorant of the threat, doesn’t know the enemy, and is unaware of their true intent, capabilities and resolve. This is especially true of college students who face a daily barrage of anti-war and anti-American propaganda. The Terrorism Awareness Project is designed to make them aware of the threat of jihad and the struggle that lies ahead if this nation is to survive its assault.
The Freedom Center designed the Terrorism Awareness Project to put informative materials about the war on terror into the hands of millions of college students. The Project will identify campus coordinators at U.S. universities and colleges who want to make terrorism a priority at their schools. It will drop flash videos like The Islamic Mein Kampf directly into students’ and faculty members’ email boxes. It is placing a series of ads beginning with “What Americans Need to Know About Jihad” in all the leading college newspapers. It has prepared three pamphlets--The Nazi Roots of Palestinian Nationalism; The Islamic Mein Kampf, and What Every American Needs To Know About Jihad—which will be distributed throughout the university community. All three can be downloaded from the TAP website (www.terrorismawareness.org.)
The focal point for this campus campaign will be Terrorism Awareness Month. The Project’s campus coordinators including will distribute Terrorism Awareness Guide which will provide a brief history of the jihad and a bibliography of crucial books on the objectives of radical Islam. There will be well publicized screenings of “Obsession” (a documentary on the Islamists’ jihad recently featured on Fox News) and similar programs followed by panel discussions of experts on radical Islam such as Robert Spencer, Steven Emerson and Daniel Pipes. In addition to these public events, TAP chapter members will evaluate the Islamic or Mideast Studies departments of their campuses, analyze the bias of the reading materials and classroom discussions, and ask to present competing ideas in class. They will conduct an organized public relations campaign with their campus newspapers, including opeds and letters to the editor.

rather than later.
And they are telling you it too !

a "Terrorism Awareness Project" Can be great thing if it can gather legs from highly respected experts in the field as well as former Muslims who are now considered apostates in the Islamic world. It could grow by leaps and bounds if it can develope a strong an credible reputation throughout academia (not an easy task) given the liberal and some cases left wing professors that are found in a lot of our prestigious campuses today.

Robert
Is the scope to be limited to Mid-East terrorists, like Hamas, Hizbullah, et al, or will other Islamic terrorists worldwide - from FIS in Algeria to Abu Sayyaf in the Phillipines - be covered?
Also, will the non-terrorist methods of spreading Islam, such as prison dawa, demographic Jihad, et al be a part of this coverage?

Dear Robert,
I wish you and TAP the best of luck, but I think you know that you have a hard row to hoe. You will be sowing seeds on the rockiest of soil. You and TAP will be called every name in the book. Rallies will be held to ban you from campus. You will be accused of inciting terrorists with your "hate speech".
Your best bet, in my humble opinion, is to tickle a laugh at the Jihadis out of your audience. I have long held that satire and ridicule of our enemies are two of our most effective weapons.
I know I speak for all here (well, maybe not Nazeem) when I say if there's anything we can do to help, let us know.

This is great news, all of you are terrific. Thanks from the bottom of my heart. Look out though I’m guessing the action alerts are already swirling over at ciar. Hey, if these good people educate enough of our youth maybe we won’t have to issue statements like this,
Canada…
” No stoning, Canada migrants told.
Don't stone women to death, burn them or circumcise them.”

Ok, I admit, it was just wishful thinking.

"...Absolutely the correct intitiative, but this is beyond Islam as if one looks at the Christian Identity movement (a major part of them are in prison) and what are termed Talmudic Jews, one finds the same key phrases popping up and same ideologies which stem historically from what is termed the Babylonian Mystery Religion. In it people who are enemies are termed "animals" or "goy"."
Lame Cherry is your name?
Congrats... you are not only a christian hater, but a lying Jew hater.
For the record, you have just asserted a total fabrication- a lie- a vicious, nutter assertion that the Talmud- the oral and 3300 yr old practical discussion regarding the Torah of the Jews- is somehow an evil. You are a purveyor of an evil, a hatred, with no basis, except- hatred.
This post by Robert Spencer- relating the formation of an antijihadist movement, to educate in the manner of fact versus fiction- that of the jihadists, is now commented upon by you- a asserter of lies. Oh, and goy means non jew. You dimestore hater
and purveyor of lies....

Excellent project. This article doesn't explicitly say what "the Islamic Mein Kampf" is, but I doubt any JW/DW readers would need to be told. The more the contents of "the Islamic Mein Kampf" are revealed to the public, the better educated our public will be.
BUT,
I do have one nit to pick. It's not the main point of the article, but it's not unimportant:
the U.S. soon returned to the illusion of peace and security and confusion of purpose that had marked the Clinton era, when the Jihad first began to strike against our America
The bombing of the Marine barracks in Beirut, the takeover of the U.S. embassy in Tehran, too many airliner hijackings to count, the Achille Lauro, the assassination of Robert Kennedy by a "Palestinian" due to U.S. support of Israel, all took place before the "Clinton era". If one wishes to go back, actually the first and second Barbary Wars were "when the jihad first began to strike against our America"; they were in the early 1800's. In spite of what Dinesh D'Souza claims, the jihad did not start 20 years ago. The idea that the jihad is a reaction to Clinton's perceived weakness is just another way of putting the blame back on ourselves, and framing the jihad in terms of domestic politics.

This is very timely and necessary. I am personally very grateful for these efforts being made and by all making this program happen. Our youth are our most important natural resource and there is no way we can afford to permit their being brainwashed continue any longer. The brainwashing of America's youth must be stopped COLD-- and by any and all means necessary!
One other thing that needs to be done: it is urgently necessary to block US colleges and universities from receiving any more "donations" from Saudi Arabia and other enemy states and/or terrorism-related states, organizations, et al. This is a subversion tactic disguised as a "gift" (a classic "Trojan Horse"). It is interference in US domestic issues. And it is frightening in its implications. (If I had a child turn out the way Jane Fonda did, I don't know what the hell I'D do)!
It is vitally necessary that the US protect its higher learning institutions from subversion by terrorism-related organizations and enemy (including all terrrorist-sponsoring) states!
I urge everyone here to call the White House Comment Line (202-456-1111) and urge that the president take action on this very important issue NOW. It is also urgent that everyone contact their representatives in the Senate and Congress and tell them to legislate to prevent US colleges and universities from receiving any more funding from foreign enemy nation states.
There is no time like the present to get moving.
As for the"Peace Movement"-- it may very well get us all murdered by the barbarians of Islam's jihad global if we do not watch out! Our young must be told the truth: Islam teaches first-degree murder and that all ideologies are dangerous (democracy is the overall absence of state-imposed ideology; each individual finds his own ideals in life instead of the state imposing its own).
Deliver us all (youth and elderly) from Islam!

special_guest,
Most Americans still only know about 9-11. If we started going back in time right off the bat they would not understand. It is all simply too incredible to believe, the whole ideology, everything involved, unbelievable. You know, you have read all of the insane things that go along with the ideology. The 1400 year old jihad, they need to learn that slowly, some they will find out on their own once they are made curious. Remember, the Marine barracks was a long time ago, before most college students had yet been born. On top of that it was not at the time portrayed as jihad, just run of the mill terrorism. The word jihad was mostly unknown in the USA at that time. You know as well as I do that once you understand the roots of 9-11 it is not hard to put the other historical pieces of the puzzle together. Documenting 1400 years is the work of a lifetime. Im starting to examine everything I thought I knew about world history, in a new post 9-11 light, just to see what I might find.
at January 31, 2007 7:07 PM
But the alarms 9/11 set off were soon muted by complacency and self doubt.
Here I am little ole me disagreeing with Horowitz et al. It was not all complacency and self doubt; it was subversion and bad strategy. The subversion comes from the leftist fellow travelers, the multi-culti, un-fulfilled communists and socialists who are disappointed at the failure of socialism. They hate everything the West stands for and are literally willing to make a pact with the devil to end western capitalism. The alarms were also muted by petro-dollars flowing from Saudi Arabia that have paid for the critics of Islamic resistance. I will give you one example and rest my case- Jimmy Carter. The “peace at any price” liberals have also had their hand in thwarting the anti-jihad resistance.
The other part is the bad strategy. After Saddam was captured, that should have been the end of the mission. We have been bogged down trying to separate two groups who literally hate each other's guts. This pie-in-the-sky, Wilsonian experiment should be declared over. The data is in, Islam and true democracy mix like oil and water.

"They hate everything the West stands for and are literally willing to make a pact with the devil to end western capitalism. The alarms were also muted by petro-dollars flowing from Saudi Arabia that have paid for the critics of Islamic resistance"
While this is certainly true, you are still in denial about the level of "conservative" complicity in all this, apparent from your attempt to single out Dhimmi Carter from ALL the lobbyists, GOP oilmen, Norquists, James Bakers, who have enabled this situation. You are equating the power of fringe/freak university profs like Chomsky or Gary Sick with WORLD PLAYERS like Baker, Norquist, Brzezinski, Holbrooke, Albright (see, I'm not that partisan), Bush, Sr., Scowcroft, Kissinger, and all the other enablers of Islam. Certainly, multiculturalism is a disaster, but multiculturalism doesn't pay for the slick-haircutted Exxon spokesman, the hordes of hookers, the think tanks, the lobbyists, the PR firms (remember the Kuwaiti incubator incident?), etc.
No, my friend, it is time for you and all American conservatives to start owning up to your own failures and blindness as well. As an American liberal, I have no patience for Carter, ANSWER, Chomsky, or any of the Islamic apologists of the Left. They are garbage. But as an American liberal, I can tell you very clearly who has been running American foreign policy for most of the last 25 years... it wasn't us.
at January 31, 2007 7:36 PM
One criticism that I would make about the flash presentation is that it's opening statements seem to support Bernard Lewis' contention that anti-Semitism was imported into the Arab world along with the influence of European fascism. It doesn't bring out the degree to which it is in fact indigenous to Islam itself, grounded in numerous statements in the Koran and ahadith.

Abu Lahab, there are and have been liberals in the Republican party, believe it or not. Nixon, Rockefeller, and Kissinger are clearly not conservatives. The democratic party is also not full or liberals.
Who is most lkely to shout the word islamophobe, someone like Pelosi or someone like Gingrich?
Oh, I consider the use of "my friend" very patronizing and demeaning.

at January 31, 2007 7:52 PM
Aby Lahab: Jimmy Carter was no conservative. So you need to rethink your political rhetoric.
The only reason US political leaders ever got involved in Islamia was because the entire industrialized world (Not merely the USA as you seem to think) required the petroleum resources the Muslims held, and, because these people simply failed to grasp both the homicidal depravity of the Islamic world and the magnitude of danger presented by Islam to non-Muslims. The British Empire alas covered up much of the genocide perpetrated by Islam over much of South Asia, the Middle East, and Africa (it was the British who ruled much if Islamia for the past four centuries and had they not covered up Islam's spectacularly bloody past, Americans would likely NOT have made some of the bad choices they made).
Currently, it is the political liberals who are in bed with Islam and they have no such excuses for their nefarious and destructive behavior.
at January 31, 2007 8:01 PM
Abu Lahab, I thought that the last paragraph in my 7:21 PM comments were critical enough of the current state of "conservative" leadership without going into the sordid details.

Bravo, Bravo, Bravo!!!! I shall do all in my power to assist in this most worthy effort to educate a pathetically ignorant ‘free society’ of the cancerous evil that is poised to destroy it. The immediacy of our shameful situation is well served by that oft quoted statement attributed to Sir Edmund Burk: “All that is necessary for evil to triumph is for a few good men to do nothing”.

... to combat the complacency and ignorance about the intentions of the radical Islamists who declared a holy war on the United States and the West on September 11, 2001.
It's odd that the wording of this manifesto waves the shuddering white flag of surrender with its use of the wildly misleading term radical Islamists, a term that directly implies ideological separation between the Jihadi and the "normal Moslems" [sic].
They're Moslem activists, that's what they are. There is no ideological gap between the mujahadeen and the inactivists; Moslem inactivists root for and helps fund the Jihadists. Both are on the same page, from the same text, but in a different voice, one passive the other active.
It's troubling to see an important institution like FrontPageMag.com make such a fundamental mistake.
If nowhere else, can we not at least attain parity with these Jihadist monsters in the all-important realm of propaganda pragmatics?
I'll give the benefit of the doubt and assume those who use the term radical Islamist don't do so out of fear, in reaction to the 6th Pillar of Islam, but do so instead because of lingual ham-handedness.

The only problem I see is in the next presidential election, I'm being pessimistic, but I see the Left (outside the beltway morrons) gaining steam, which will definitely thwart our objectives of neutralizing the enemy. I thank the Lord for the true conservatives holding us together safely.

The presentation states, "Militant Imams create a fascist form of Islam."
Robert, isn't a key thrust of your work to prove that this "form of Islam" wasn't "created" in the 20th century but indeed has deep historical and theological roots?

Kamala,
You raised a good point, that sounds a lot like they are "hijacking Islam" or "twisting Islam" as Glenn Beck was saying of "The Extremists" last night,on CNN. He was responsponding to an email he recieved from a viewer who was complaining of his description of Islam as "The religion of peace." He has interviewed Robert and Brigitte Gabriel , and in spite of this, he still honestly believes Islam is a peaceful religion. It's pretty discouraging.

I fear that until we can find as staunch an ally and strong a propaganda arm as the three major networks in America and the BBC elsewhere whatever we say is going to be just preaching to the choir.
ABC, NBC, CBS, and the BBC are the best friends the jumping jihadis could ever have. They print one side of the WOT because they despise President bush and all conservative values. I firmly believe that if America was waging war on Satan, himself, the mediots would tell Satan's side of the story and not America's. I wonder if they realize what would happen top their Freedom of Speech if our country were taken over by the moslems? Do they think they could get away with outright treason, then? They have been getting away with treason for the last 5 years and the Bush administration hasn't lifted a finger to prosecute one of them.
I would like to see this little Flash movie run as a commercial on network TV during primetime but even if I had that kind of money no network would touch it. The pamphlet should be in every newspaper, but Satan will buy a snow-blower before that happens.
DREK!

David, Robert - A welcome addition to the blogosphere in the media war vs jihad. However, I think you need to expand the links and the books cited, since it might give the impression that you are serving your own interests by just having links to your own / associated websites and publications. I am sure this could be built up as a very special resource, diversifying into genuinely useful educational materials for univerisities but also schools. You also ought to remember that we aren't all Americans. This is a global war and please do not refer exclusively to your target market / audience as Americans - as much as the US is a target (the Great Satan as it were), the non-Muslim (kafir) world is the ultimate enemy of Islam and we need to unite to fight this menace.

I saw it yesterday. It is very necessary, but there is a glaring inaccuracy that needs to be fixed:
The quote about day of judgement when Muslims kill jews that are hiding behind rocks and trees is not from the Koran. It is a Hadith.
The makers of this film need to do some serious fact-checking because a howler of this magnitude can discredit the whole thing (and give ammunition to the likes of CAIR). For my part, I am very surprised that Robert did not catch this howler.

I want to congratulate Robert and all involved in the TAP for their effort. Like others have said, the university campuses are a hostile environment and all involved in this project will be demonized by the Jihadis and their willing acomplises on the Left, the MSM and academia. It will take courage and persistence but nothing less than the survival of Western Civilization and the right not to be Muslim is at stake.
God bless you all and your work.

Concerned Canadian: Show your liberal friends the Kuran and read for them passages mandating Muslims to kill (have THEM read them out of your Kuran). The explain to them that this is FIRST DEGREE MURDER that Islam is teaching in the Kuran.
Explain to them that no other ideology in the world today except Communism does this.
They will stop calling you a bigot, I guarantee it.
