"Drop The Gloves" -- a terrific editorial in Investor's Business Daily (thanks to D.):
Global Jihad: The ghastly plot by Muslim terrorists in Britain to kidnap and behead a British soldier to blackmail the U.K. into leaving Iraq is a grim reminder of the enemy we’re fighting. And sadly, we need reminding.While the bare-knuckled British press condemned the “evil Muslim terrorists,” our media by and large shrugged, preoccupied as they’ve been with more important news, such as the sandbox spat between Rosie O’Donnell and Donald Trump. You’d never know we were at war with a barbarian culture bent on destroying our way of life.
Though we’ve so far avoided another attack here in America, there’s been no shortage of terrorism around the world. You might say there’s been a silent rampage. The thwarted British plot coincides with no fewer than 655 Islamic terror attacks across the globe in just the past three months. The full list appears on the Web site thereligionofpeace.com.
We can’t vouch for the list’s accuracy, but based on a quick survey, the data seem correct. We commend the list to your attention because it puts the war on terror in the proper light.
That is, this war is truly a worldwide clash of civilizations and not, as the cut-and-run crowd keeps telling us, simply a “situation” that requires “managing.”

Best thing I've ever seen Scheuer say.
That motivation is their 1,400-year-old faith, said Scheuer, who closely tracked Muslim terrorists like Osama bin Laden over the last decade.Indeed, the biggest myth going is that Islam has been “hijacked” by the terrorists. No, the only thing that’s been hijacked is the truth about fundamentalist, radical Islam, which makes holy war against infidels a sacred duty for Muslims.
The terrorists are getting all their violent ideas — the jihad, the martyrdom for virgins, even the beheadings — right out of their holy book. To pretend otherwise, to brainwash soldiers and cops on the home front into thinking the enemy is simply a ragtag network of random thugs and not part of a larger movement — is to set them, and us all, up for failure.
The almost endless stream of terrorists we’ve seen committing almost unspeakable acts of violence all over the world aren’t the irrational fanatics they’ve been portrayed to be. Hard as it is to believe, they have a calculated worldview based on religious and historical assumptions. They don’t act willy-nilly. These aren’t common street hoods who will mug their own mother for drug money. They are disciplined soldiers in a holy war. While their bloodshed may seem random, they have a purpose, a religious purpose, sick as it may be.
And they are relentless. Denying this unpleasant truth so we can feel nice and tolerant is politically correct suicide. We need an honest assessment of our enemy. Wishful thinking is not going to win this war. Jihadists have declared war on America and the West, yet we are reluctant to even identify them with the religion in whose name they kill us.
It’s time to take off the gloves. We must declare war on jihad — and all its participants and supporters — before they can make even deeper inroads.

It is not enough to "declare war on Jihad." One must educate, by constant use of whatever pulpit or publicity one commands, to educate people about Jihad as a doctrine, and also about the various instruments of Jihad. Otherwise, there will not be the support, or the will, to undertake what is not over "in a generation" (short-sighted miscomprehending Tony Blair) or "in 30 or 40 years" (Dick Cheney, ditto).Above all, it is the varied instruments of Jihad -- not only or even mainly terror (and get rid of, mock out of existence, the idiotic phrase "war on terror"), not only or even mainly military combat, qitaal, of any kind, but rather the money weapon, systematic and well-financed campaigns of Da'wa that target the alienated to whom Islam is presented, falsely, as representing Social Justice, or, for the psychicallly marginal, is the Last Stop (everyone off) on the choo-choo that takes Spiritual Seekers from one belief-system --- cult, religion, Final Answer on Jeopardy, whatever -- to another.
And if Scheuer ("That motivation is their 1,400-year-old faith, said Scheuer, who closely tracked Muslim terrorists like Osama bin Laden over the last decade.") at long last realizes it is bigger than Bin Laden, and has nothing to do with Israel, which merely suffers from one of the many Lesser Jihads -- which he used to harp on, in his boy-scout or president-of-the4H-club fashion, then he at least has learned something over the past few years. A little late, and I doubt somehow that he completely grasps the matter at hand -- but let's pocket this one small step for Scheuer, and move on.

Nice work, Vince.
This article (and of course those by Robert, Hugh etc) could be seen as "bottom up" leadership in the fight to shake our society out of its ignorance and lethargy. Little or none is coming from the ostensible leaders, and I don't think we can expect much from them in the future. They have abrogated their leadership, but the "little people" are taking up the challenge. It is good to see, and I think the word is spreading.

Interestingly Thailand sticks out very promonantly - more than Indonesia, Pakistan or Cashmere.
Yet the almost daily killing ot Buddhist teachers, icecream vendors, rubber workers - seems to be worth not a single headline in the mass media.
Why so? Are the mass media afraid of exposing the evil side of Buddishm? Because obviously the religion of peace can't be blamed - the name obliges.
Or might it well be true what Manuel Paleologus, the Byzantine emperor cited by the Pope assumed - that Mohammed's religion nurtures violence like no other?
Obviously even more unpleasant for main stream media. So unpleasant that they already refrain from publishing undisputed facts from Mohammed's life.
The question that would pop up immediately is - if Mohammed's life is the main source of Muslim inspiration - was Mohammed a moderate Muslim?

Sure, action speaks louder then words; can't take words to court either. Hindsight is always right, but action can only be based on words. If I were to say, "I'm gonna kill you," that's just words, our laws can't work until I finally killed you; then, the court would have to put it all together to convict me.
Who would we attack, the enemy is invisible under these set of rules ? We can't do like Hitler, and blame a race of people for all the misgivings of the world ? If the troop build-up was conducted in 2006, maybe the lines of division would've been more pronounced, but now, it's a quagmire of violence ? Our soldiers would be certainly in harms way, with no direction to shoot at. If they did, their actions would wind-up in court.
"You men take that hill; what hill Sir ? Oh, any hill; just take it ! Well boy's, you screwed-up now; it's time to go to jail. Thank you Sir."

Jihad is part of Islam and as everyone knows they can easily keep low profile for up to ten years and then emerge stronger and even more dangerous than ever before.
It must be a war on Islam. There's no way around it.
Saudi Arabia has over 50% illiterates, but billions of $$$ for the Jihad to invest.
Think about.

I intend to put a subject on the email like, "A terrific article from Investors' Business Daily about the years ahead!" and am sending it off to everyone I know. This will be particularly helpful when sending it off to all those who have told me that islam is a religion of peace, it's just a minority, blah blah blah.

The problem is the press. They have accomplished for liberalism, what the writers union of the Soviet Union failed to do. Our press toes the line on propaganda. It propagandizes certain themes consistently.
If everyday we read the headlines from Iraq of another Jihad attack instead of politically correct non sense about sectarian violence instead of Jihad violence, we might be on the road to win this war.
Querie, what do Shiites and Sunnite murders of civilians of the other have in common while the Shiites and Sunnites commit crimes of historic savagery and perversion and abomination in modern times?
Answer: They commit Jihad on the other. They commit violence in the name of religion on the other.
Yesterday's AP headline for example by Yahya Barzanji is a disgrace. It fails to mention the religious component of the fighting. Indeed, the party line is to attribute violence to "ethnic" or "sectarian" forces whatever the hell that means:

The true story is:

This incident adds to the thousands of murderous Jihadist incidents taking place in Iraq killing tens of thousands of men, women, children in schools and hospitals and cemeteries and mosques since Saddam Hussein has been deposed. Competing religious jihadists believe as they are taught in the koran they share, that if enough people including women, children, non combatants and American peacekeepers are murdered, Americans will be so sickened or terrorized as to withdraw its troops without preconditions.
Flame the journalists with emails to print the truth. Tell them they get an F in journalism. Explain that this is why their papers will fire them soon as no one will be reading their propaganda as circulation has clearly fallen. Blog everyone that its not sectarian violence but jihad violence that is the problem.
Hound the press to change the word sectarian to jihad violence. If press readers realized this is jihad violence pure and simple, it might change political debate in Europe and the United States to fight the real enemy.

Then Glenn Beck and Michael Savage come in with a dual voice-over and say, "Never mind that non-pink elephant in the room, the Unicorns are coming to roust it, so no worry." The first guy hears this and says, "Either I'm stoned or confused or I'm gonna be stampeded in this room unless I leave this room or the non-pink non-Unicorn-rousted elephant will leave."
It won't. You will. Where to go?
Then the second guys says, "Hey, let's turn on the BBC." The first guys answers, "No, CBS and CNN are admitted liars. That's better. Turn on either of those channels."

Two things:
1) Islam has already declared Jihad war on us, so the declaration phase is over. What we're talking here is making an embarassed admission of our denial over the past half-decade, and then mobilization.
2) The supporters of the Jihad war, the Moslem Inactivists, are participants in the Jihad war, so what do we do with them?
The only realistic answer is en masse expulsion or quarantine of them, and shut down of their "religion" and banning of their books even in their prison camps.
But, to do that, by the politesse of today's politics, LA or NYC must be destroyed in a nuclear detonation. This is required according to the rules of Bill Keller and Rosie and Bill and Tim and Michael Savage and Laura Ingraham and Hugh and all the rest of the Opinion Celebrities who rule over us.
So what kind of war declaration is that?

Time for people to assume their right to self defense is nearing – if not already here – and to organize and utilize resistances movements of their own soon will be required to survive
Violence and threats of violence of various levels – the modus operandi of islam – now permeates the entire world -Western and non-muslim as well as all of islam. Since 11 September – islamic proselytization (i.e. violent jihad) has grown larger and spread wider around the globe – rather than the opposite. That violence is working in favor of the totalitarian forces using it is evident. For example –there are many (majority of the members of the U.S. Democrat party) who because they share a common character trait with jihad-fascists –cowardice – will capitulate or run away – and is evident particularly when on the receiving end of violence and threats of or faced with certain counter violence (e.g. jihad-fascists “men” who hide themselves and their weapons among women, children, innocents and routinely and wantonly murder the unarmed and helpless- who only “fight” when the odds are clearly in their favor, etc.). More and more people –particularly Western “elites” are showing signs of succumbing to this easy way out when faced with this growing and now standard situation –to avoid violence even to the degree of accepting dhimmitude (and there are many who do not understand their submission or that the muslim world does see their actions as such).
Objective education and information to counter this cult of violence (e.g. no finer than JW/DW) is critically necessary, but at some point the violence and threats of violence (i.e. global jihad) must be met with equal and opposite defensive force (including sane policy and legislation backed with force of law, etc.). Unfortunately – it is now becoming apparent – that those responsible for such defensive requirements (“elites” in positions of “leadership”) cannot or will not (most likely for nefarious reasons) take this step. It’s time for the people to realize that their “leadership” has failed and time to defend themselves against global islamofascism.

Yes, five years on, Investors Business Daily is seeing the light. Perhaps in another five years, the New York Times will awaken from their slumber; five years after that, we might actually see the BBC reporting on the daily atrocities being committed in Thailand in the name of Islam, rather than on giant bunnies.
But blame can be as much apportioned to our political leaders who refuse to use the "I" word and thus fail in their first duty to identify and take defensive action against enemies of the state. Bush made a feeble attempt to link Islam with fascism in a speech a few months ago and within hours, he was "corrected" by his Saudi handlers. We hear nary a peep from our elected officials about the long, bloody history of Islam, its intrinsic goal of global Sharia, or its endowment by the House of Saud.
The press will ultimately take its cue from the POTUS; if the Commander in Chief refuses to name the enemy, we shouldn't expect Katie Couric to enlighten us.

The IBD cited a quote by Abu Bakr Naji. I do some webbrowsing on him and ended up a NPR site.
NPR interviewed a guy from West Point last year.
West Point is training every new cadet in Jihadi ideology and stratregy according to this guy. (He states it as one of the last items in the interview)

Does civilization have that long? Can we afford to wait for the politically correct to agree with us or do we just push them out of the way?
When the NYT and BBC decide to report the truth will it matter? Will anyone who reads or watches be in a position to do anything about it? Will either of these august organizations be part of the mainstream media or will they be underground, hiding from the Sharia inspectors?
They (NYT, BBC and their allies in deception) are killing us. No one should mourn when they see their presses trashed in the street or their studios taken over. It's easy to blame the leaders but the fourth estate has an equal share of responsibility. They have been undermining our security for more than three decades.
They have all but ignored the breaches of our security committed by people like Sandy Berger and Bill Clinton and worried about what the living standards of terrorists in Gitmo. They insist on their right to publish the details of a security investigation but raise a ruckus when the name of a supposedly covert CIA agent is published.
Investors Business Daily isn't seeing the light. They are suddenly seeing the people they do business with threatened by terrorism. They moved American jobs overseas and now those overseas locations are in the midst of a jihad. So now it's the responsibility of the American government (and American taxpayers) to protect THEIR investments! That's all there is to this sudden "conversion" by IDB.

Huh?
"Ideological purity" is why we're in this mess. Iran wasn't a pure enough ally for Jimmy Carter. He needed another religious man, the Ayatollah Khomeini to represent the values of Iran. Islam has spread its ruinous ideology all over the world. THEY'RE the ones seeking purity, not me.
The Europeans also seek purity. The US isn't a worthy ally to many people in Western Europe and Canada. At least George W. Bush isn't. They prefer to remain politically correct and leave it to others to pick up the pieces. They sell their arms to Iran and expect the US to deal with Iran at the peace table.
What are IDB's motives for this sudden turnaround? I think it's money - first, last and always. I question their sincerity, not their purity. Is Islamic jihad a danger or is Islamic jihad in certain countries a danger? It's not that they are concerned about the dangers this violent ideology represents to the free world. They weren't all that worried when American installations were attacked worldwide throughout the nineties. Surely the Madrid attacks should have compelled this turnaround. They didn't. Neither did the London attacks. My God, it's been more than five years since 9/11. Were they just shellshocked? How did the sight of lower Manhattan in ruins not impel them to action? What made them "see the light"? Not Manhattan. Not Madrid. Not London. It was the attacks in Asia, the source of all their future wealth.
I would welcome IDB to the fight, whatever their history, if I believed they meant what they said. The question is not one of purity but one of trust.

I would suggest beating home the points where the Korans teachings and what our constitution says about the Seperation of Church and State should be beaten home just short of killing the Horse.
The Women of this Country need to be shown just how threatining this whole Islamic Culture is to them. When a guy has lost his way on the road, any GOOD woman will nag him into eventually stop and get directions. Just apply the same principle with a different Motivation. It may be the only thing to counter Mz. Clintons early position going into the next Election is to surrender all women to their worst nightmare.
Womens role in past Elections were responsibel in part for Bushes narrow election. Due primiarly to fear of Terrorism. It is one thing to fear being indrisiminately blown up. It is quite another to stress that a woman cannot leave the house without a Man.
Not all Women are Clintonistas.

Unless Americans, their leaders, and the people of the few remaining western democracies realize that Islam teaches death and destruction as THE ONLY way of life on earth for humans, they will never come up with and deploy adequate strategies to subdue and obliterate Islam and its jihads--or adequately defend themselves. And unless the west progresses past the "PC" mentality, we citizens of the western democracies will be unable to save western civilization.
To meet a challenge, one first must recognize what exactly the challenge facing one IS; the western democracies mostly aren't at the point where they are doing this.

Everything has eschatological significance for Muslims: from how they are supposed to urinate to their expectation that Jesus and/or the Mahdi will return soon to fight the Last (or Penultimate) Battle before finally Allah will put an end to history and let Muslims relax in eternal Paradise without all these pesky Infidels.

Arm yourselves with information to protect your families.
Arm youself to protect your loved ones.
It starts with the acknowledgement that you have only yourself to protect yourself. Buy a gun. Support conceal and carry. Support the "Castle Doctrine" These are elements in any fight we will have in our homeland. Any other country that has taken away gun ownership rights has already surrendered. Check them out and see what problems they have. Austrailia, England just check out the problems they are having.

We must get the women to know what ISLAM means for them. Many of the ones I have spoken with have absolutely no clue of what awaits them. Some documentaries about women's Islamic lives would turn them into some really bad warriors.

I think it misleading that 'fundamentalist Islam' is referred to as 'radical' or 'extremist'. There is only Islam. That is why I think that documentry 'Obsession' is exceptionally bad in that regard, it's just another voice in the media choir who like to pretend that there are all these variants of Islam and only 'peaceful and moderate' muslims practice the true Islam.
They [Obsession] even show some footage of muslims walking up a street with a voice over saying [paraphrased] "see, this is what peaceful muslims look like". I will be playing that Channel Four dispatch video probably in March, as a follow up to February's "Islam: what the west needs to know" screening, so the public can see how Muslims put into practice what was discussed in the latter doco.

And I know their general end-time scenerio.. but I'm not aware of they attach special significance to any earthly locations... that if such locations were no longer habitable that it might discredit the dogma somehow.

The Goobs l do not fear China so much, as they are becoming more Christian from the inside. the more prosperous their country becomes, and a middle class evolves, new leaders will be gaining power and take on more democratic values.at the same time they are having more troulbe with their own muslim islamists.right now they are just as much as conniving as the French and Russians are. Chirac is giving iran so much latitude, only to get into their oil. chirac is a traitor as much as any chinese official.

Sadly, there is no leadership. I have heard strong words only from the Prime Minister of Australia.
I don't think a bomb in New York or Washington would wake people up, we would still have Pres Bush, Condoleeza Tony Blair et. al telling us immediately not to over react.
The press would tell us it was 'isolated', 'students', or 'asians'.
I still don't quite get it. Do they think it will go away? Do they think that if they talk to them, bribe them, throw the jews overboard that this will end?
Kill me last?
I heard a 'moderate professor of Islam' speak recently and he said there are 1.4 billion muslims they are not going to just go away. I thought about that, but there are 6.5 billion people on the planet--they aren't just going away either.
Yet the 6.5 must deal with the 1.4 according to 'self-described moderate muslim'. How about 6.5-1.4 = peace.

It is not enough to "declare war on Jihad." ....Above all, it is the varied instruments of Jihad -- not only or even mainly terror (and get rid of, mock out of existence, the idiotic phrase "war on terror"), not only or even mainly military combat, qitaal, of any kind, but rather the money weapon, systematic and well-financed campaigns of Da'wa that target the alienated to whom Islam is presented, falsely, as representing Social Justice, o....Hugh
I have the perfect term - one that I submitted in the T-shirt contest - declare jihad on Jihad. That way, any twist that Mohammedan apologists try and spin on it will apply to our strategy as well - from inner struggles to 'striving' for the day when no God called Allah has a right to be worshipped (a twist on Q2:193). It has the added advantage that instead of being purely a military endeavor, it can also cover things like counter-dawa, immigration control (ban on Muslim immigration), research on alternatives to Islamic fuels, et al.
So I'd modify Michael Scheuer's clarion call to "We must declare a jihad against Jihad, and include that to cover Islam if necessary".

Only truly peaceful religions should be allowed in our world. If Islam does not cleans it's self of the doctrines of holy war or Jihad (the lesser), it must be declared illegal. If religious leaders in Mosques or Islamic centers preach holy war or Jihad (the lesser), they should be arrested. If Mosques or religous establishments of any kind allow people to preach death to apostates, infidels, or anyone else, they should be leveled to the ground. A religion must be truly peaceful or it will not be allowed to to exist in this world.

The only way to save America is to keep a keen eye on local mosque gatherings. All mosquers must be documented. I have taken a joke and redone it a bit for your humour:
There were six house of worship in a small Texas town:
The Presbyterian Church, The Baptist Church, The Methodist Church, The Catholic Church, the Jewish Synagogue, and a muslim mosque.
They were all overrun by pesky squirrels.
One day, the Presbyterian Church called a meeting to decide what to do about the squirrels. After much prayer and consideration they deetermined that the squirrels were predestined to be there and they shouldn't interfere with God's divine will..
In The BAPTIST CHURCH the squirrels had taken up habitation in the baptistery. The deacons met and decided to put a cover on the baptistery and
drown the squirrels in it. The squirrels got out somehow and there were twice as many there the next week.
The Methodist Church got together and decided that they were not in a position to harm any of God's creation. So, they humanely trapped the Squirrels and set them free a few miles outside of town. Three days later, the squirrels were back.
But -- The Catholic CHURCH came up with the best and most effective solution. They baptized the squirrels and registered them as members of the church. Now they only see them on Christmas and Easter.
Not much was heard about the Jewish Synagogue, but they took one squirrel and had a short service with him called a circumcision. They
haven't seen a squirrel on their property since.
The mosque abducted their squirrels and strapped explosives on 'em but ironically for the moslems the squirrels got away and ran back into the
mosque!
Now there are only five houses of worship in that small Texas town.
