Jerusalem Arabs Riot, Kassams Fired, After Old City Excavations?

So goes the Arutz Sheva headline to this story by Hillel Fendel, without the question mark. However, no one else seems to be reporting this, so I am approaching it with reserve at this point.

Four Kassam rockets were fired into Israel and Arabs rioted in Jerusalem - in protest of Antiquities Authority works at the Western Wall Plaza entrance to the Temple Mount.

Restrictions were placed on Moslem worshipers allowed to the Temple Mount, and the police were out in force Tuesday morning at the excavation works site, in anticipation of a fierce Arab reaction to the work. Though less violent than expected, rock-throwers rioted in eastern and northern Jerusalem; 11 Arabs were arrested.

In addition, terrorist groups fired four Kassam rockets, in two waves, claiming to retaliate for the excavation work. In the first Kassam wave, around 1 PM, one rocket landed on the fence of a sensitive infrastructures installations outside Ashkelon, and one crashed into the western Negev. Three hours later, two more rockets smashed down near Sderot, including one that landed in a nearby community. No one was hurt.

The Antiquities Authority is carrying out a "salvage excavation," a preparatory operation before the construction of a new pedestrian pathway to the Temple Mount. The existing one, leading to the Mughrabim Gate, was rebuilt over the past two years after earthquake and weather damage, and cuts off much of the women's prayer area at the Western Wall.

Jerusalem arachaeologist Yuval Baruch said that the excavations are not at all near the Temple Mount, and that the Arabs have no reason to protest. Jerusalem District Police Chief Ilan Franko agreed, adding that the works were coordinated in advance with the Moslem Waqf that oversees the Temple Mount.

There is too much killing going on between the Paleostinian mafia crime families, the Hamas clans and the Fatah clans. The solution is to gin up some anti Jew riots

You do this by spreading lies about Jews destroying the Muslim mosques on the Temple Mount. This has been done at least since the 1920s when the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem stirred up riots. he was the Hitler collaborator.

The muslims protest because they know that the excavation will reveal Jewishcivilization in Jerusalem! The claim of muslims to Jerusalem is just not true. With every spade of earth turned in Israel, Jews are revealed as the owners of Israel.

Israeli TV showed film of some of the rioting, so it can be believed. For a short notice about new findings in ancient Jerusalem [the City of David area above the Shilo'ah Pool], see link:

Sounds like the Arabs are hearing with their eyes and thinking with their feelings.

So what else is new?

Flatten the rancid old toilet that sits on the Temple Mount.

They would have no genuine grounds for protest if the excavations were on the Temple Mount itself. Hypocrites! Just stick to your priorities,i.e. building those Mosques to a scale that dwarfs all else, and leave the arachaeology to the adults.

Since when is Arutz Sheva suspect?

Rioting arabs and muslims in Yerushalayim, rockets fired into civilian population centers...in other words, Tuesday in Yisrael.

It's fair to say that the Mount is the most politically unstable spot on earth. Right there at the tectonic slide plates. Good guys versus bad guys.

No way. Everybody knows that Abraham and all the other prophets were intense Moslems who were let down first by the Jews, who even called God by the wrong personal name (Yahweh instead of Allah), and then by the Christians.

Islam is the only true path, the progenitor of Judaism and Christianity, the Father of us all. The Moslems were just hidden in the background for 2,500 years is all, until they could no longer stand to watch our religious incompetence.

Then the poor but dutiful Moslems no choice but to move in with their knives and swords to discipline us, teach us a lesson. Kill us or at least threaten to.

If Moslems seem that they might be a tad violent, this is due to our failings, not theirs.

Why do people hate so much when they speak of the Lord ? I would suspect everyone would speak of life and love, not death and war ? One smells beautiful the other smells terrible.....I'll stick with the Lord, he knows my nose is sensitive.

This is about control over the Temple Mount so a new Temple will be built. Both sides are inciting the violence for their factions which are European based.

just take down the damm mosque,it does not belong in \Jerusalem. with it gone, the arabs can go packing to jordan, or any muslim state that suits them.
