At last someone points out that the emperor has no clothes at all. By Julie Stahl for CNSNews.com, with thanks to the Constantinopolitan Irredentist:
Jerusalem (CNSNews.com) - The upcoming Israeli-Palestinian-U.S. summit is intended to "crystallize" the political horizon with the goal of helping Palestinian moderates, an Israeli official said on Tuesday. But at least one government minister thinks the point of the summit should be to expose Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas as a deceiver.Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and Abbas are scheduled to meet next Monday to discuss ways of moving the political process forward. Their meeting comes about two weeks after Abbas' Fatah faction agreed to form a national unity government with the radical Hamas group.
Olmert and Abbas already have clashed over the agenda of the summit, the Israeli daily Ha'aretz reported on Tuesday.
Quoting unnamed government sources, the paper said that Olmert was refusing to discuss final status issues at the summit. Those include the status of Jerusalem, the right of return for Palestinian refugees and their descendants, and an Israeli withdrawal from the West Bank.
Those contentious issues were supposed to be discussed during the second and third phases of the road map peace plan. But the two sides got bogged down in the first phase, which called for (among other things) the dismantling of the terrorist infrastructure in the Palestinian areas. It never happened.
Regev said it's clear that the only way for Israel and the Palestinians to make progress is through the road map, and that means the Palestinians must do their part to put an end to terrorism.
If the Palestinians agree to move forward on the road map, there could be a Palestinian state soon, he said. But the Palestinian people must decide for themselves.
All Israel can do is to explain to the Palestinian people that political extremists, terrorists and Hamas can offer them nothing but more violence and a political dead end, while the moderates (Washington considers Abbas to be a moderate) can offer "tangible political progress," Regev said.
Israeli Minister of Strategic Affairs Avigdor Liberman believes that Abbas is deceiving Rice and the U.S., which has given its complete backing to Abbas in his power struggle against the Hamas-led government.
The recent "unity government" agreement between Abbas and Hamas leaders -- does not meet any of the three benchmarks outlined by the international community, Lieberman said in a radio interview. Those benchmarks include recognizing Israel, abandoning terrorism, and abiding by previous Israeli-Palestinian agreements.
Abbas is not a partner, Liberman charged. "This is not a unity government," he said. "This is a Hamas government."

Will someone please give a logical explanation of why the US and Israel should have to sit down with a bunch of demented terrorists lacking an official state and any semblence of government and discuss anything? The aim of ALL palestinians is simple-eliminate Israel and errect another Islamic paradise in its place. Unless this meeting is to have the US agree to palestinian demands of having chunks of Israel (why stop at the "occupied territories) with the US pressuring Israel to agree as well what is the point? Nothing short of Israel's disappearance will satisfy the supreme losers.

The logical explanation is none of this is designed for peace, but to foment a defining war where the victors will dictate the peace terms to the vanquished.
I have written before pointing out that massive "kill zones" are being constructed in the middle east by walls and evacuations. This means WMD's and not bullets in the future battles.
President Bush did indeed attempt the Saudi peace plan, but Olmert tossed it aside along with American policy for the European plan which is about their control in the region, embarassment of America which is all based upon the upcoming war.
Understand Olmert knows very well tons of weapons are coming in via Iran which means Europe is condoning it and their partner is Russia who is supplying it. This is all about removing America from the region as Democrats gain control here. Then the Eurasians will have the field.
Right now the information flow out of Israel is pointing fingers at Iran to try and get Bush to whack the Persian Islamocommunists.
That too is another game which Russia is playing to destroy oil supply.
Rice is not that adept in understanding this game, but then no one else is either and that is the tragedy for America.

End the cease fire, end this problem. Support Israel in it's growth. Expand the frontiers! The Middle East under the benign rule of Israel! Commerce and prosperity for all. Think of the jobs! Aside from oil no nation under Islam has ever florished in the world economy. So where does all that oil money go?
Islam is a social disease!

I've also heard rumors that the sun rises every morning, the Pope is a Catholic and even Russian bears sh*t in the woods.
In June of 2002, in a quid pro quo with Tony Blair for his pledge of support in the Iraq War and in compliance with instructions from his paymasters on the Saudi Peninsula, George Bush became the first US President to formally call for a Palestinian state, carved out of land won by Israel in successive defensive wars with countries dominated by a 7th century death cult bent on liquidating a Jewish national presence in the Middle East.
Despite years of transparent dissembling, the most unspeakable acts of terror, alliances with America's enemies, and billions of dollars in jizya payments, Bush continues to champion the barbarians that will govern and inhabit that state.
In an effort to salvage his legacy, continue the flow of relatively cheap oil, and appease the Islamic world, Bush will try to force through a "peace" agreement between the barbarians and the besieged and beleaguered Jews.
It will not work. For centuries, stronger and more determined men than Bush have been unable to soothe the savage beast and he too, will fail.
Take Muslims at their word. Act accordingly.

I know someone who, on behalf of various NGOs, has spent a great deal of time in the Muslim lands. Jordan, Gaza, Egypt, Syria, are places he knows well. It has taken him quite a while, but he has finally reached the conclusion, after years of thinking it could not possibly be so -- could it? -- that what all visitors to this website know about Islam, and the real intent of Muslims, is true. And has come to this conclusion slowly, reluctantly, and after years, he admits, of not wishing to see it, of trying to deny it.
Recently he described to me certain "Palestinians" whom he befriended long ago and who, therefore, think he still holds to the views he might, thirty or twenty or ten years ago, and who, therefore, speak openly to him. And what do they say? They say what will come as no surprise to anyone here, familiar with Muhammad's "war is deception" or with taqiyya or kitman, or merely the endless displasys of hemming, hawing, dodging, lying, that one can see from every Muslim spokesman, about everything - in the Middle East, or right here at home.
And what did these "Palestinians" tell him, so openly? They told him that they would say whatever the West wanted them to say, pretend to believe whatever they had temporarily to pretend to believe, in order to get the Israelis to surrender yet again, but that now, with a fanatical fervor he had never heard, or perhaps had never quite recognized before, they told him that "of course Israel must be destroyed" and "of course we will only say these things in order to destroy Israel." He said this to me with surprise, and amazement.
I was not surprised. I was not amazed. Nor are you -- and you know why you are neither surprised nor amazed. But what does surprise you, what does amaze you, is something quite different. What surprises and amazes you is how little, apparently, so many people in positions of resonsiblity, in the government, in the media, in so many countries, including the United States, and Israel, and Great Britain, and France, and Germany, and another dozen European countries, do not know enough, know hardly anything, and seem to believe they should not be held responsible for kknowing, anything at all about Islam, its doctrines, and its practice.
That is what surprises. That is what amazes.

Sounds like the porcine abdullah has given abbas and haniyeh a little lesson in dealing with imbeciles at the US State Dept who, whether out of greed, malevolence, or just plain stupidity, have been at his beck and call, doing his bidding and that of his brother, for decades. All they have to do is a little play acting and State will sell out the Jews in a New York minute, as they say. But the 'palestineans' are too stupid even to do that, and muslims being muslims, I expect the killing in Gaza to start again any day now.

Why don't the Palestinians just stop their nonsense and just try to get a country going with what they have?

Responsible, accountable government is the last thing any of the factions wants. Otherwise, they'd have established a Palestinian state in the lands outside of the 1948 boundries.
No, they want to ensure every last square inch of the Levant is under Muslim control with any non-Muslim citizens accepting dhimmi status or leaving and Muslims who aren't among the annointed ones living like the serfs they were before the Jews started buying up land in the 19th century and showed the locals that other societal norms existed.

" . . . moving the political process forward."
That "political process" is nothing but the Islamic drive to destroy Israel and make the land Islamic.
Why Israel is continuing with this farce of aiding in its own destruction is incomprehensible.
The aforesaid "political process" is part of the world-wide drive of Islam to subjugate "infidel" lands.
That this is not understood by Rice and Bush is apparent. They are not aware of the war between Islam and the rest of us. They still believe in the "Islamists" and the rest of the Moslems who are "peace-loving," as is their "religion."
Mental inabilities to comprehend are difficult to overcome.
Olmert is incompetent aside from being as corrupt as was Sharon and the clique that has ruled Israel for far too long.
The fighting between Abbas and Hamas is reminiscent of that between the Sunnis and Shi'ites in Iraq. Abbas is as much of a swine as are the swine of the Hamas leadership.
He is Rice's "boy," however, because he "looks nice" and wears a suit. Bush at this point is unable to understand anything that is going on except that he wants to bring "democracy" to the Islamics, and as the "Palestians" voted, they are a "democracy." What does that say about our President's grasp on reality?
Or are there unseen, sinister commitments and alliances at work here?

Hugh,
You're too generous in your descriptions of those in leadership positions in Europe and America. They know full well what they are doing.
Europe turned against Israel when the PLO started killing Europeans in airports and discos. Their innate anti-Semitism was clothed in concern for the "oppressed Palestinian people". Muslim migration to Europe created huge communities that could not be ignored by anyone who wanted to win an election. Add political correctness to the mix and it's not hard to see why European leaders are as reckless as they are. They're not ignorant of Islam's danger. They just don't care.
Americans in the State Department also know what the Islamists are about. Their problem is that they (wrongly) see the Palestinians as underdogs and the US loves to help the underdog. They also think the victory (?) of peace with Egypt can be recreated with the Palestinians if only the Israelis would cooperate.
The Israelis are the puzzle. They may have been taken in by Egypt. Giving back the Sinai may have made them think that land for peace would work. How did the second intifada not convince them that they have no peace partner in Palestine? The election of Hamas only added insult to injury. What is Olmert thinking? Would Israel agree to provide safe passage between Gaza and the West Bank as part of a peace treaty? How can Israel ever be safe under those conditions?

I disagree with PMK. Whilst anti-semitism is on the rise again in Europe, I do not see the governments of Europe as active and knowing collaborators with the forces of Islam. It goes against every instinct of the statist, collectivist, and ultimately totalitarian mentality of your average European leader. Your Tony Blair and your Jacques Chirac want to accrue every last piece of power that they possibly can and indeed they have done well up to this point. If they were truly aware of the threat their countries faced, they wouldn't be likely to embrace dhimmitude.
It is, as Hugh says, precisely because they do *not* understand what they are dealing with and moreover that they show no interest in understanding it, whether out of ignorance or expediency, that Europe is failing to address the jihad in any meaningful sense. Oh sure, Europe will go in for 'outreach' programmes - it just refuses to take a look at exactly who and more importantly what it is reaching out to.

Thanks for that one, I laughed my head off. By the way I completely agree with the rest of your post, and would like to add that Hugh is bang on also.
How can these imbeciles who run our countries go unaccountable for not knowing what they should know. Ignorance is not a defence for breaking the law, so why is it legal for making policy?

I refuse to believe that the leaders of the western countrys are unable to know the truth. Can not see what is seen so clearly here as what the truth is. The truth is in plain view, and is not trying to hide from anything.
To claim ignorance , that they do not know the truth, or can not find out, requires a lot of faith in their positions as leaders of the free world.
I am not that stupid. Nor do I have my wall papered with nods to my abilitys for all to see.
If they do not know, it is because or they have another agenda. Like it or not.

"To those Christians out there...

Posted by: Vince"
Absolutely - The ancient people called Magog are commonly believed to have been the ancestors of the Russian nation. The prophet Ezekiel spoke of an invasion of Israel by Russia, which has not yet been fulfilled. What could cause Russia to come against the tiny nation of Israel -- which has no oil and no real strategic value? This question has puzzled Bible scholars for centuries. However, recent developments in the Middle East have for the first time in history lent credence to this long-awaited prophecy.
