It is extremely insulting to the average Joe and Mary to have the Muslim id of these killers downplayed, as if we are all a bunch of potential vigilantes. Meanwhile, Muslim vigilantes kill 5 in Seattle, attempt to kill students at USC, pull stunts on planes, etc. People are becoming fed-up with the PC in this. He said that he watched a boy being helped through the mall parking lot and he had been shot across the side of the head and "his ear looked like meatloaf".

I recall that the initial cable news reports about this seemed to emphasize that (paraphrasing) "he just looked like a normal guy" or something to that effect, but the implication was that he didn't look "Middle eastern" and so it probably has nothing to do with terrorism.

But as we all know here, ISLAM IS NOT A RACE - IT'S AN IDEOLOGY.

Does this have anything to do with Islam? We don't know yet. But at the very least this case ought to throw a bucket of cold water on those who keep confusing ideology with race and intentionally trying to hide behind cries of "racism" as a cheap means of discrediting people who keep trying to point out that in fact, this has NOTHING to do with race but rather has EVERYTHING to do with ideology!

And even if it turns out that this guy knows nothing about Islam but was merely angry at his boss at the US postal service, that lesson would still stand.

when I first heard about this this morning I thought wait a minute didn't I read a novel with a plot device like this in it. and sure enough this evening I remembered that Tom Clancy wrote a novel a couple years back in which some jihadists attacked a mall in Virginia in a similar manner except there was more than one in the novel.

Don't forget that the Feebees broke up a plot in Chicago prior to Christmas involving an attack on shopping malls.

One can gain a great deal of psychological profiling on Sulejmen Talovic by key factors described.

It is a probable estimate this Muslim was not completely driven by the suicide bomber code of Islamic hate. If you follow he had a trench coat, his choice of weaponry was a shotgun backed by a 38 revolver and a backpack full of ammunition shows more of a Terminator mentality than Islam.
The trench coat stands out as almost an online violent game player of this trend which motivated him.

Obviously, his not having any father figure and with only his mother being an immigrant he role played from his violent Bosnian background with an American flair. His mission was not suicide, but anger in a fight to vent his personal pain.
While the complete motive of operation in the mall is not available, it is certain he had eye contact with at least young attractive young female who he "judged not killable" in allowing her to live. That denotes a thought process of more European and American in allowing a non lethal attractive woman to live.

In understanding this hybrid of European Islam, you see a different method of attack in it being more video game movie working through a maze like a mall and deciding in power who lives and who dies. In the middle east for example it is kill as many docile to inflict the greatest terror.

Unless further evidence evolves, preliminary data concludes this was a lone action of a cut off and angry male seeking to make his peer society community pay. He had no trouble with females mocking him in school, but he had problems fitting in and decided to attack.
It is likely this male also turned to drugs of some sort mixed with his violent "play" to enhance the thrill and alter perceptions causing him to live out the fantasy he was feeding off of.

It may be Islam at the core but it might also be Mormon exclusivity which was the catalyst he was striking back fueled by the euphoria of violent video games.

Sulejmen, a quiet teenager and ordinary guy who lived with his mother in a single family home, had trouble in school with the other kids, experienced their Islamaphobia, tried to raise money in order to accompany John Walker Lindh to Yemen to study the Koran, failed to raise the money because he couldn't get a job because he was Muslim, was devastated that his girlfriend left him after he asked her to wear a burqa, tried to get back with her by ordering a Vermont Teddy Bear and was refused because he had a Muslim accent, and finally, having been completely rejected by everyone, went to the Mall to do the only thing he could think of to further the cause in Kosovo. I am really disgusted by all this. I am from Utah. All of my family is from Utah. If roles were switched and this was a mormon boy killing muslims I doubt the press would be treating the story so well. That mormon boy would be called a Islamophobic hate mongering racist. I am a mother of 6 and in my home town of Nyssa Oregon they were forcing our children to learn Islam this year. Making them memorize the 5 pillars. According to a story in World Net Daily, the shooter was a MUSLIM. What a surprise! I'm sure we won't see his religious affiliation mentioned anywhere else, he'll just be described as a "troubled or mentally disturbed" teenager.

A teenager can't go to WalMart and buy a gun, so where did he get the guns and ammunition? Banning gun ownership in the U.S. would not stop muslims and criminals from getting and using guns.

Of course it appears to have been an off-duty policeman carrying a gun who took him down. Not to get into a lengthy debate about gun control and whether only criminals can get guns, the fact is that an average person carrying a gun was the one who took him down and prevented even more loss of life. We see alot of stats about the number of lives lost due to people being able to carry guns but I'm not aware of similar stats showing the number of lives saved precisely because people WERE carrying guns. The problem is that folks carrying guns contribute to a negative statistic (i.e. lives NOT lost), which can never be proved statistically.

Why is this? Apparently at high levels, decisions have been made to stone-wall these events to the max. The three posts by carolyn2 are veerrry telling. Nothing we werent aware of or certainly suspicious of, but we hadnt had the chance to read those local media stories.

Why not tell all? Why not trumpet from the housetops. When will the "duh" public wake up? When a Jhadi kills a hundred or so in a crowded mall?

Not too long after 9/11,(about 2 months) three Islamic young men rented a house from some friends of ours. They paid a lot of money in advance and our friends were immediatly suspicious and called the F.B.I. Unknown to me, I saw these three guys in a crowded restaurant and eventually called our local police. They were speaking Arabic, very suspicious activity, Long black trench coats, looked like they were "caseing" the place, and to my surprise, nobody was paying any attention to them. Shortly after that they were picked up at the house by the F.B.I. Nothing in any media was ever released nor did I ever get a call back nor did my friends.

Not too long after 9/11,(about 2 months) three Islamic young men rented a house from some friends of ours. They paid a lot of money in advance and our friends were immediatly suspicious and called the F.B.I. Unknown to me, I saw these three guys in a crowded restaurant and eventually called our local police. They were speaking Arabic, very suspicious activity, Long black trench coats, looked like they were "caseing" the place, and to my surprise, nobody was paying any attention to them. Shortly after that they were picked up at the house by the F.B.I. Nothing in any media was ever released nor did I ever get a call back nor did my friends.

Noticed some whining about guns. The reality is that gun laws taking firearms away from the law abiding are going to be welcomed by criminals and terrorists. We need to understand we are at war, and in this case, the enemy is on our soil, and will attack civilians. Quite a few states allow concealed carry weapons, this may end up becoming more common.

Nazi Germany had gun laws, our 2nd amendment is in place for a reason: to prevent tyranny. We need to keep the gun violence we see in perspective. I consider it foolish to disarm the American public. Do I need to mention what happened in Germany around 60 odd years ago?

Also guns aren't the point here. This murderer could have done more damage, using other methods.

The point of the blog, is discussion, as to whether this was a jihad attack. I tend to think it was, and wonder mostly if it was part of a larger overall plan.

Look, Guys and Girls, I've said this before but I'll say it again. It is NOT illegal for a British person to own a firearm and I, myself, own quite a number of different weapons.

We have a licencing system which allows us to hold firearms quite legally.

This system has several purposes -
(1)
To help the police to rule out (or, regrettably, in certain cases to rule in) any given weapon which they know about under the licencing system when a firearm related crime is committed.
(2)
To prevent firearms from falling into the hands of people who have been convicted of a firearm offence or who are, for one reason or another, deemed to be not stable enough to possess a deadly weapon.
(3)
To register and legitimate valid collectors of modern, vintage and antique firearms.
(4)
To ensure that all owners of firearms keep them, and the associated ammunition, in a safe and secure place when they are not in use and keep the said firearms in a safe condition so that discharge of the said firearm will not result in accidental injury to the dischargee or unrelated third parties.

So, in the UK there is no minimum age for the issue of a shot gun certificate. A firearm certificate may not be granted to a person under 14 years of age. It is, however, an offence under section 21 of the Firearms Act of 1968, as amended, for anyone convicted of a criminal offence, to handle, possess, or shoot a firearm and ammunition (this includes Air Guns). If the sentence was for more than three years the prohibition is for life; if less than three years the prohibition is for 5 years.

Just a datapoint. Went to Wal Mart last month to add some ammunition for the rifle. I’m a resident of a western/non pacific coast state currently living in the northeast. I was asked for identification to allow me to purchase rounds. Producing a driver’s license from state X, a place that the questioner did not recognize, the purchase went through (researching after the fact, she should not have made the sale).

The thing that spooked me is that, in many places, if you want to arm up, ‘they’ have already made things difficult. It will be more difficult when things become complicated. Taxes will never be lower and access to arms will never be more readily available…

Talovic parked his car in the west parking lot and walked into the mall, encountering two people, whom he shot. Then he walked further into the mall and shot a woman, said Police Chief Chris Burbank.

He then walked to a gift shop and shot five people. He shot several other people before he was gunned down by an off-duty Ogden police officer assisted by four Salt Lake City police officers, Burbank said.

He had a backpack that carried numerous rounds of ammunition as well as a .38-caliber handgun, said the chief.

Police have no motive in the killing.

I tend to agree with you Marissa. There are those who have gotten so used to biting their tongues rather than offending select groups that it naturally spills over into the religion that is Islam.

I have little use for such people who would even prefer to lie than to offend. If we as Americans can't break out of the fog of both political and religious correctness then we can only sink deeper into the cauldron of confusion.

Speaking the truth, even when it hurts or offends, is the best place to start. I have seen lots of politicians and others in the public eye who are all to eager to kiss butts.

It's like the late 1930's all over again. I have friends and family members who don't want to be bothered with this and they tell me I'm too caught up in it, I pay too much attention to it. I'm sure people said the same thing when the Jews started noticing their rights were being chipped away right before WWII. Well I am a student of history; I read it for fun, in fact, I figure I'll start reading fiction when I get finished with the non-fiction, but I never seem to. Because I like it so much, it's like a big puzzle, and the more I read, the more pieces I get and the bigger the picture gets. And when something stinks, I can usually trace it to a big mess or something fishy. The internet has made it even easier. In fact, I'm surprised it hasn't been shut down yet.

What's coming seems to be inevitable. What is not inevitable is that we will be destroyed by it. That depends on how we respond to it. There has to be movement in the right direction, right now, even if we haven't been able to stop the illegal immigration or the onslaught of Islamic whining in our nations. Thought is powerful and so is God, and I don't think we should be counted out yet. I think gathering here and talking together about what we want to achieve and what we want to save is productive.

I hope that when whatever comes, I'll be able to be brave and stand up to it and make a difference. And hopefully inspire others to do the same.

We know that you have highly restrictive gun laws. The problem is that when the state knows where every gun is, it would thus theoretically be able to confiscate them rather easily in a moment of tyranny. For that system to work, one has to have "faith" in the government that it would not do so. It would be very hard to have to use arms against some future oppresive government if that government had the inside scoop on where all weapons were located in the first place. I much prefer our system which so many misguided people want to change.
They will have to pry my dead fingers from my guns in order to take them.

Yesterday, February 13, I’d been watching the news all morning as I always do and, just before a station break on CNN, they flashed one of those very brief (five second) news previews to keep viewers interested enough not to change the channel.

In the news preview, a man, an eyewitness to the Utah shopping mall shootings, was being interviewed at the mall who said very excitedly, "...he had a shotgun in one hand and a Koran in the other..."

Needless to say, I stayed tuned through the station break and waited for the news to return to hear the rest of this man's story. But when the news returned, it took a while to get back to that item. CNN played several other unrelated news clips first. When they did get back to the Utah mall shooting, they played a different portion of the same interview. This time, the man being interviewed was no longer excited and said nothing about a Koran, nor anything about a shotgun either.

This is interesting. Could it be that someone at CNN decided to quickly squash the item and cut the Koran part?

The Utah and Salt Lake City police are saying they have no idea for the motive. Perhaps they do, but aren't telling anyone. Do you think the public will ever know the truth?

Dominic, We have made this exchange before, you have shown that it is diffucult to obtain a firearm in Britain. In the US, if one has no criminal record and is a citizen, a fire arm can be purchased without the layers of certification you have described. It does become more difficult to acquire a concealed carry permit.

In the UK, are you allowed to own a handgun? Are you allowed to own a semi-automatic handgun or long gun? Would you be allowed to own a Ruger Mini 14 or an M1 Carbine, as I do? If you went to apply for the firearm certificates and told the police that you needed to weapon for self protection would you be given a certificate?

The legacy of the Second Amendment is that a firearm can be owned for self-protection, not "sport."

I am a mother of 6 and in my home town of Nyssa Oregon they were forcing our children to learn Islam this year. Making them memorize the 5 pillars.

E.D. Hill did a show on Foxnews last week about Jihad. She invited people to e-mail her about the show. Idid. I got back a nice e-mail thanking me for caring about the security of our country.
She said if I had any suggestions...
So I wrote back about this school stuff. She, E.D. Hill has 8 children. I suggested that the school activities needed to be gotten on tape. I don't have kids in school. The other parents out there need to let the media know when this is going to happen or tape it yourselves.

I really like the MOMO guy who wants to censor the others cause they are upset the guy was a Muslim.

I looked throught the paper and found no mention of where the guy got the guns.

Where I live I would already be in jail if I let an underage kid have access to weapons and ammo. Yet here is a fatal shooting and no mention of the source of the weapons.????

What worries me about these things is, when the police MSM etc. ignore (read hide) the motivations of these murderers, IF they are Jihadists won't they eventually get tired of not being recognized? After all the mid-eastern suiciders make videos.

One Bosnian Muslim, even if it's "Sudden Jihad Syndrome" (which it certainly may be), doesn't mean all the Muslims in the Balkans, who are essentially peaceful -- and fighting a proxy war against the Wahhabis that benefits you every day of your life -- should be smeared with the act.

Apparently the Bosnian community in the area is going to hold a press conference this morning about it.

What we do know so far is that the kid was born in Bosnia and grew up there during the war. The family, according to neighbors, had been subject to some extremely difficult ... "traumatic" they say ... experiences during the war and were having difficulty coming to terms with the issues psychologically. Apparently they were hermits, and family relatives say they had NO WARNING that the kid was going off the deep end.

So, if you think is Wahhabi jihad and a cell of one in the United States, then'll have to wait and see. But it looks very much to me like the kid was insane, and I will be surprised if it turns out there is a cell involved.

However, that doesn't rule out Sudden Jihad Syndrome.

It also does not give you the right to claim that Bosnia-Herzegovina and its Muslim population are equivalent to the Iranian Supreme Council of the Saudi Arabian Directorate of Internal Affairs or the Aceh Province shari'a court.

My guess is that the Bosnians are going to freak bigtime that it was one of their own that did it. And my guess is that you are going to hear NOBODY among them excuse it on any level.

But let's wait and see. But one thing I will predict. The Serbs will do their best to smear the Bosnians on an ethnic level. And my guess is that they couldn't be bloody happier about it if someobdy had given then Kosovo for Christmas.

Being able to acquire a 1944 Lee-Enfield SMLE is one thing, being able to purchase a Springfield Armory M1-A is another matter. Do British gun laws allow you to own a self-loading (semi-automatic) firearm of any description?

I said it before I will say it again, law enforcement (puke) is the enemy. Have children, the law is their enemy, have girlfriends, the law is their enemy, want to go about your life peacefully, the law your enemy. What kind of mealy mouthed scum turns his back on those he took an oath to protect? When the day finally comes when I am walking down the street and I see these rats hanging upside down from lampposts, I will have no compassion no pity, quite the opposite indeed, I will be relieved that I only have to worry about the islamists. Would I participate you say? No, I don’t want that kind of filth touching me. Wake up dummies, the people are losing confidence in you and soon you will be all alone with your lies. Now, I do realize that a tiny minority of extremists in law enforcement are stand up people, perhaps 10 % but the fact that they have done nothing to weed out the rats makes them just as guilty. What would be my reaction if one of mine was a victim? I cannot say but be sure, I won’t be worried about global warming at that point. You can’t go shopping, school, church, vacation, here in America w/o risking being gunned down, run down, blown up or beat down by islamists, and the po-lice, are right there to cover up for the animals among us, hapless, worthless and downright dangerous for the most part, sorry to say.

I was contacted by Fox News to do an interview. I declined. I did not know much at the time about the "Religion of Peace" Since then I have read nonstop books on the subject. When this unit of study happens to my kids this year I am prepared. I will be in that classroom every day. I have to admit I was a little frightened also on how far to take it. When you googled my name it showed up on CAIR's website and other Islamic websites. I was scared about how far to push it. I know now that was the wrong decision then I would run things different if it happened today. I felt alone out there in the world. I see now how many people are informed and strong about standing up for whats right. Thanks for the encouragement.

As far as why Americans think the British (and other Europeans) can't own guns, it might have something to do with the fact that you often refer to Americans as "Cowboys", as if that was such a bad thing. And what are cowboys associated with? Gun fights. The reality was different, but who cares about reality?

As for the lack of coverage on the MSM. Do you really expect them to break into their wall to wall coverage of Anna-Nicole Smith to report on the alleged murders of a few ordinary Americans? Please. And besides more people were killed in traffic accidents, we wouldn't want to overreact now would we?

As all of us here on JihadWatch know, there is only one act which guarantees paradise to Muslims: fighting in the way of Allah. All one's sins are wiped clean, and one then enjoys forever all of the pleasures and blandishments promised to shaheeds.

I certainly have no way of proving it, but if the motivations of the Buffalo Cell boys a few years back are instructive, I think we have our answer. In their case, they were drawn into jihad out of a sense of guilt and fear, because they had led dissolute lives and feared divine retribution for their sins. Their way out: jihad in the way of Allah. Is it possible that this young Bosnian Muslim boy had a similar experience? I would rip apart his background and his life in order to find out what he was doing. And I would not care what pain this caused his family, because I just don't give a damn about what Muslims think about us. Our government may, but that is to its everlasting shame for eschewing the truth in favor of politically correct blinders.

There is no doubt in my mind that some of these people would still be alive and their families would not be suffering the horrible feelings of loss and abandonment they are today. If only someone would have long ago warned them that there is a shark in the water that the tiger is out there and it is hungry for human meat. But no, no warnings after the untold number of attacks on ordinary Americans since 9-11 as a matter of fact they have bent over to accommodate the killers. So the murder of these people can be laid directly at the foot of those collecting a salary for allegedly protecting our innocent. Congratulations, first they ignore illegal immigration and now they ignore murder. They care about themselves not the people, it is all about getting your paycheck and staying safe for them. My advice, stick to harassing our kids it isn’t as dangerous as actually doing your law enforcement duties and confronting the killers of our women and youth.

It's not just malls. an unusual number of Walmarts and other stores have been evacuated lately due to "smell". Even Manhattan. What if these smells are really biological and they aren't telling us or they don't know. I know I am starting to sound paranoid. But just cause you're paranoid, doesn't mean there ain't somebody after you.

Also do I seem to be the only one who thinks that there have been an awful lot of chemical plants blowing up? Train deraillments like the one that burned in Ky (right next door to Fort Knox Army base)? Tire stores and tire dumps seem to have a high mortality rate lately too.
Could just be that with 24/7 News coverage these things are showing up more. if you believe that I have some almost dry swampland in Florida you might be interested in.
When the TWA flight blew up off Long Island, I told my friends that it probably was what the witnesses said, a shoulder fired rocket.
I also said that the Gov. was justified in covering it up becase no one would ever get on a plane. It was impossible to cover up 9/11 or we would still be in the dark.

Yes, in certain circumstances it is permissible to own weaponry for personal protection, and automatic weaponry.

I own, legally, a Heckler & Koch P7K3 and an M16 (which you should be familiar with) amongst others - but these two would be my weapons of choice in a tricky situation.

I agree that it is difficult to obtain the required certification to own and fire such weaponry but it is by no means impossible and the sad thing is that many UK citizens just don't bother despite the fact that the vast bulk of the citizenry would qualify.

I am not among the morons who think that only the Wahabis are the problem, and that others, like Sufis/Shia/Ahmadiya/Ismailiya... what have you, are live and let live peaceniks.

Besides, your claim that they're fighting a proxy war against the Wahabis is ludicrous: the Saudis are the ones who had been funding them, and the KLA in the 90's; why should they do anything on the side of the Infidels against the Jihad?

I thought I could count on you to turn this around and put Serbs under the spotlight.

The Serbs don't need to do squat - despite the reluctance of the authorities to highlight Sulejman's ethnicity and religion, it came out, and after a series of incidents over the last year - from John Mohammed to Mahmoud Taheriazhar to Naveed Haq to Omar Poped, there has to come a point where we stop looking at these as co-incidences. Of course, now they are planning to let in 7000 Iraqi refugees, up from the ~400 over the last few years; so much for the 'We are fighting them out there so that we don't have to fight them out here.'

I just wish one of these days that one of these freelance jihadists would take out some ACLU or PC types en masse, so that the authorities would have less inhibitions about monitoring them just as they would anyone else.

Do you remember the circumstances of that plane that fell apart over NYC - actually Staten Island?
There was a televised memorial service for the firefighters and police. I don't want to give out too much personal information on the internet. But I would like to say that I have led an interesting life. One that has brought me into contact with people who knew more than the average Joe about how the world really works. Especially Europe during the cold war and none of this surprises me.

Are you familiar with those Russian dolls that you open and there is another smaller doll inside and then another and so on.

A lot of this stuff is like those dolls.

I mean the MSM has no problem figuring out and saying on TV that it looks like the lawyer might try to fake the DNA for Anna Nichole's baby to get the money. So why are they so afraid to stand up to a group of people who are out to take down the civilization that gives them their cushy jobs. Or do they really think that they would have these jobs under Sharia Law? They need to think again on that one.

The point of my rant was, the good cops need to retake their profession, they have been hijacked by the PC mentality we see in the mmm. If I were to see that occur I would rally behind them in an instant.

Carolyn2, The history department of Middlebury College Vermont will not accept citations of Wikipedia in student's papers. Students can use Wikipedia as a place to find authentic soures, but actually referencing Wikibedia is not allowed.

Sympathetic statements are like are to be expected from relatives and friends, the implication being that the murder’s mom was put in a bad situation by bad luck, fate, the mysterious workings of mental illness, that kinda stuff.

But by not challenging why her child did such a thing, the reporter tacitly implies that it was just one of those crazy mental illness things, or maybe the murderer was a victim of circumstances.

The miscreant parents of the Columbine murderers did not get such kid gloves treatment. But Talovic’s mom will, and probably he will too. 6th Pillar, multiculturalism and all that.

Yesterday on his radio show, Michael Savage takes a call from a self-described “conservative Moslem.” The Moslem complains that what Talovic did “is not taken from Islam” and blames the American media and educators for “failing to understand Islam.” Savage responds, “Well that’s good. I’m happy to hear that you weren’t corrupted by a lunatic Wahabbi Imam like the thousands running around the world today inciting violence.”

Michael, an actual scientist and a self-proclaimed genius, failed to mention whether Talovic was driven to his murders by a lunatic Wahabbi Imam.

In a column published today in RealClearPolitics.com entitled Sunni vs. Shiite, It’s Not All a Matter of Islam, wrote, “Among the worst members of the it's-all-a-conspiracy pack are those who insist that every Muslim is in on a vast Jihadi conspiracy…”

Call me paranoid, but to me this was a clear allusion to Spencer, Fitzgerald, and this website.

Whatever the case, the egregious Mr. Peters evidently thinks that Jihad necessarily must be a conspiracy, and one that involves all Moslems at that.

But the pro-Islam Peters imposes false conditions on himself to be able to get stupid. What’s actually happening in the world today is an ideological movement comprising hundreds, if not thousands, of discrete terror conspiracies very loosely coupled around Islamic scripture and tradition with, as prescribed by Allah and Mohammed themselves in no uncertain terms, involving only those Moslem men who are required to be actively involved at any given time and place. Women, children, old folks, injured men, able bodied men better used outside of the Jihad war effort, are not commanded by Islam to Jihad war.

Apparently Peters has not read the Koran or Hadiths.

But everywhere and always the Jihadi are fed from an Ummah composed of human sticks of dynamite that can be actuated by a variety of things: puberty, personal circumstance, world events, a Zawahiri tape, a Jihadist website, a college professor, you name it.

One would hope that the Utah reporter, Michael Savage, and Ralph Peters would do the right thing and decline to write on Islam ever again, simply because they're just too busy to read the Islam scriptures, know what they're talking about, and present a danger to Western civilization spreading their mistaken ideas.

HOW many Iraqi 'refugees' do they want to bring to the USA?

I was just wondering if this event and others preceding it are being taken into consideration since these decisions are being made WITHOUT a REFERENDUM!!!

Who ends up being murdered as a consequence of foolish politicians' careless decisions?

Who gets killed, I ask?!

What these politicians are deciding over our heads could well end up killing any number of us on this board. The rulers are in violation of the Constitution. Their mandate is to keep us safe and from harm. I know that's not the exact quote but it's something to that effect.

If they know they cannot keep us safe they should have to proclaim so publicly and enlist our help. Meaning they need to ask us to enlist in various militias for the safeguarding of the home front.

Then they need to LOCK DOWN the borders. Next, round up and deport all criminal - and otherwise a potential threat to national security - aliens.

APF - re Ralph Peters - for some reason I assumed he actually had some real world military credentials. But wiki, for one, doesn't show anything substantial from a combat perspective, at least:

Apparently he even has a "nom de plume" for his fictional writing. Hey - even moi has a nom de plume - Caroline. Maybe I'm wrong about the guy and he actually has some bona fide credentials to back up why we should take anything he says about military strategy and especially about Islam - seriously. If so, I would like to know what it is.

Yes indeed. That's the hypothesis I am going on for now. It's the simplest one - Occam's razor and all that. But nonetheless, I do happen to have noticed the sheer frequency of these events lately, apparently for the same reasons you have. But again, I am inclined to think the apparent increased frequency is primarily due to the sheer capacity of cable news to cover these sorts of event 24/7 (in order to fill up so much programming time, which didn't exist before the advent of 24 hour cable news). I.e. If it bleeds, it leads.

Serbian Girl, your point is well taken. As one who made comments of the sort you were responding to, I was speaking of the *presumption* that they (Bosnian Muslims) were in mortal danger there. I have to say that you make an excellent case for why most such presumptions and preconceptions are crap. There IS a history there which tells a much deeper, more tragic, and outrageous truth of how the Muslims and Serbs arrived where they are today. It IS shameful that Serbians are made out to be the evil aggressors and Muslims the hapless victims. History tells a much different truth.

Someone else said:

I think we all already know the answer to this one unfortunately.

I wish people would first educate themselves on issues before jumping to conclusion and making false assumptions on a whole group of people. Just because a person is from a certain region does not allows us to make the false assumption that he is a terrorist. If that is the case then you may freely say that those "Caucasian American" children that killed those students at Colombian had Islamic affiliations...which they did not...they attend a Catholic church regularly. We need to take a look at ourselves and change ourselves before we can expect any change from anyone else. Look at our churches and priest and the Haynes crimes they are committing against children.

No wonder a large portion of Europe does not like us we are big hypocrites. People through the word Jihad around and Allah and have no understanding of what it really means. How many innocent people throughout the world has our beloved country killed in the name of right and JESUS? Please no god no religion encourages killing.
