Venezuela to Al-Qaeda: Hey, don't threaten us, we're on your side

"We should confirm the authenticity of these reports. It seems illogical that Al-Qaeda, which is against the US imperialism, is going after a State that is precisely fighting this hegemony, this imperialism, yet using other methods." Hmmmm. Cabrera, has it ever occurred to you that once Al-Qaeda has finished with American imperialism, it might see itself as having a few more battles ahead?

Note also the utter moral collapse here, as a band of bloodthirsty murderers is elevated to "freedom fighter" status yet again.

"Venezuela to verify 'illogical' threat from Al Qaeda," from El Universal, with thanks to the Constantinopolitan Irredentist:

Rear admiral Luis Cabrera, one of the members of President Hugo Chávez' Joint Chiefs of Staff, Thursday asked for verification of the "illogical" threat Al Qaeda allegedly launched against Venezuela, as this country is fighting US imperialism too, but using other methods.

"We should confirm the authenticity of these reports. It seems illogical that Al-Qaeda, which is against the US imperialism, is going after a State that is precisely fighting this hegemony, this imperialism, yet using other methods," Cabrera told official TV channel VTV.

Reports from Abu Dhabi on Wednesday claimed that the Saudi branch of Al Qaeda has urged followers to strike oil facilities in all countries around the world supplying oil to the United States, including Mexico, Canada and Venezuela.

The call came in an article called "Bin Laden and the Oil Weapon," featured in the latest edition of on-line magazine Sawt al-Jihad (Voice of Jihad), of the so-called "Al Qaeda Organization in the Arabian Peninsula," Efe reported.

The article urges the Mujahideens (Islamic fighters) to target oil premises for attacks not only in Saudi Arabia, but throughout the world.

Welcome to the real world, Hugo, you fool.

For Venezuala to believe that it is not dependant on Pax Americana is the height of stupidity.

Does this mean that Bush will be true to his word: You're either with us or you're against us?

Maybe we could work it out for Venezuela to take the Iraqi "refugees" since we're taking so many from Venezuela now. The lines are long at the Amercican Consulate in Caracas.

Colorados and Blancos, socialists and conservatives, Chavez supporters or those nostalgic for Marcos Perez Jimenez, it doesn't matter. Venezuelans should be made to realize that as long as they are not Muslims, they are Infidels, and as long as they are Infidels, they are in the eyes of Muslims the permanent enemy. It doesn't matter if they support the anti-American rhetoric of Carlos Chavez, creator and caudillo, generalissimo che non finisce mai, of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela. Venezuela is still filled with Infidels who apparently intend to remain Infidels. Why shouldn't Al Qaeda be indifferent to Venezuelan interests? What do Muslims care about Infidels?

Posted by: Hugh [TypeKey Profile Page] at February 15, 2007 2:28 PM

...Can Venezuelans go visit Iran and walk around freely??....Do any Venezuelans even go to Iran?... Hey Hugo!! your people are not welcome....

Just like how the ACLU and NRA gives ratings to politicians, you need to give "JihadWatch ratings". We can start Nancy Pelosi at, oh I don't know, 0%, and work up from there.

FUTURE HEADLINE:

After nationalizing everything in the country, Hugo Chavez declares his solidarity with the Caliphate and converts to Islam asking all Venezuelans to do the same for the future of his revolution as the modern-day Simón Bólivar. He says only sharia law will save Latin America from the imperialist devil of the north.

Far-fetched? Chavez dances with those jew-haters from Iran. There is al-Qaeda in Venezuela and they are not Arabs. They are indigenous Venezuelans.

Hispanics are the Muslim's next slaves. I see an alliance forming between members of all the petroleum exporters coming. Just don't know when. Al-Qaeda and all the other jihadists see South America as there next conquest. For them it would be easy pickings.

Posted by: detocquevilledisciple [TypeKey Profile Page] at February 15, 2007 3:10 PM

It's okay, all Venezuela needs to do is convert to Islam and institute Shariah, then they can be Al-Qaeda's "friend". Seriously though, it's obvious that the majority of the world isn't going to wake up and see the truth of this situation until many more people--and probably within their own country--die. Hugo is so blinded by his anti-Americanism that he can't even see the reality of this situation; that he is no different in their eyes than we are.

Posted by: staff_of_magius [TypeKey Profile Page] at February 15, 2007 3:16 PM

That godless communist is in for a rude awakening. They will be the first ones to lose their heads. He'll go to the block wondering why.

Posted by: ironman [TypeKey Profile Page] at February 15, 2007 3:24 PM

In the future we will see more and more of the, “hey wait a minute” moments. We will also see some like hugo continue embracing the islamists and that will bring trouble to the surrounding countries/peoples in the area. He doesn’t live on an island like his buddy fidel over in Cuba. There are larger consequences to his actions for people in his region. We need to keep an eye on the same thing in America, perhaps in the future a state becomes islamisized and then begins exporting their jihad to surrounding states, or is that already happening? It does matter who is in power in the states/countries near you and especially next to you.

Posted by: tgusa [TypeKey Profile Page] at February 15, 2007 3:27 PM

Hugo, you sided with the wrong muslims!! You blew it siding with the Shi'ties. That makes you a heretic, and by the way, ineligible for dhimmitude.

Hugo isn't the only one blinded by anti-Americanism. So is the left in Europe. Heck, our own left-wingers are blinded by their hatred for Bush.

Not sure what it will take to make certain groups of people focus on the enemy, but it will obviously need to be something very very big.

Posted by: JSobieski [TypeKey Profile Page] at February 15, 2007 4:13 PM

Besides oil, Venezuela takes great pride in producing beauty queens galore. I forget how many have been Miss Universe or Miss World. Hugo can convert to islam but wrapping up Venezuelan women in burkas is going to be hard work.

I've got a question for all the jihad watchers out there. Who is this guy named Al Queda? He's Latino right? Why is this guy involved in all these isolated, non-religious killings and bombings? If we know this guy's name, how can he be the most successful serial killer in the world? Is this Al Queda guy a friend of Osama bin Laden? They must hang together a lot since they're always mentioned together.

This Al Queda guy must be a jet setter serial killer... He's bombing and gunning people down all around the world -- how does one guy manage that?

Thanks in advance.

"Hugo, you sided with the wrong muslims!!"

Do tell, Greek Fire. And exactly what sort of Muslims are the "right" ones to side with? Siding with any variety of Muslim is merely feeding the crocodile. There is only one sort of Muslim that the West should side with and, as yet, they do not exist.

Only when there are Radical Reformationist Muslims who're willing to stack up dead jihadis behind their mosques like so much cordwood, will there be any Islamic people to side with. Nothing less can be acceptable. Until then, all Islam must be held at arm's length (or greater).

Obviously, Hugo is unable of grasping the central lesson Iraq is teaching the rest of us. Namely, that Muslims are utterly incapable of living in peace, even amongst their own kind. What does this portend for the remaining world once Islam somehow manages to sort out its own internecine differences?

Posted by: Zenster [TypeKey Profile Page] at February 15, 2007 4:53 PM

Zenster, I think that Greek fire was being sarcastic.

I'm glad that Hugo Chavez has finally got the message that Al-Queda is not merely anti-American, but anti-anyone who is not a muslim as well.

Posted by: Voltaire [TypeKey Profile Page] at February 15, 2007 5:00 PM

Maybe Hugo Chavez should offer to settle those 7,000 Iraqi "refugees" in Venezuela. How many mosques are there today in Caracas?

Chavez is operating on the old maxim: the enemy of my enemy is my friend. He doesn't realize the Muslims don't subscribe to that theory. He needs to learn that one hundred eighty degrees separate infidel and Muslim and never the twain shall meet.

Killing every way! (Bomb, Bomb, Bomb, Ba-Ba-Bomb)

Letting all faiths have their way.
Not praying five times a day.

Mr. Spencer you have missed it. al Qaeda does indeed yet have Islamofascist branches which hate communists as bad as the muhajadeen hated the Soviets their first arch enemies.
bin Laden is Islamofascist Hitler. Zawahiri is Russian FSB communist trained Islamocommunist Stalin.

It is what I have been trying to educate people on but they don't get it. Of course Islamofascist are going to kill communists, they are doing it all over in Iraq in being at war with Islamocommunists.
This is not about Islam alone, but an Islamic hybrid. Venezuela is communist and in bed with the controlling interest of Islamocommunists in Iran. The Islamofascist wing of al Qaeda is now threatening their arch rivals just like Hitler hated Stalin.

Chavez might be at war against the Imperialists, but the Islamofascists hate the communists just as bad as they know they will be fighting them AFTER they take down America.

Posted by: Lame Cherry [TypeKey Profile Page] at February 15, 2007 8:01 PM

It has been said many times before, but it is appropriate to reiterate it here again: the alliance between the depraved left and the Islamists is the 21st century's equivalent of the Nazi-Soviet pact. And we all know what eventually happened to that ill-starred marriage.

The United States, and the civilised world in general, should break off diplomatic relations with Venezuela and leave the buffoon Chavez alone to practice his bedside manner with the dying Castro.

Several posters have commented on the hilarity of Chavez running with his miguided assumption that "the enemy of my enemy is my friend". You posters have obviously hit the nail on the head!

Several other posters have merely noted the hilarity. LOL!

Both sentiments are right on!

But as all this unfolds, it takes some vigilance to guard against the all too easy tendency to wish ill upon the average citizens of all these countries, each of whose policies tend to endanger the next infidel country because none of their leaders appear to fully recognize what they are up against. I guess what struck me first upon reading this was - thank God - we Americans aren't the only folks on the planet with leaders who haven't got a clue and worse - leaders who are marching us towards disaster and outright betraying so many other people on the planet who are in the same position as we are. So damn our U.S. leaders for betraying the Serbs. It's a train that took off and got away from us Americans when we didn't have a clue what we were dealing with. Most people who supported Clinton's actions in the Balkans actually believed the whole Serbian genocide line and moreover knew absolute zilch about Islam back in the 90's. And damn the French leaders for what they are doing to Israel, something that many Frenchmen quite probably don't want any part of. And damn the Brit politicians for their insane immigration laws that the average Brit is now practically powerless to oppose at all. And damn Chavez now for making a deal with the devil that the average Venezuelan citizen probably hasn't a clue about.

This is one of the most depressing things about this whole sordid affair with Islam. That each of our leaders (with the possible exception of Australia) has made a pact with the devil that sets infidel against infidel. And it would be so easy to point to various countries as a monolith and say to their people - see - you made a pact with the devil and damn you - you will now pay the piper.

I'm doing a lousy job of conveying what I am trying to convey. I think I'm just trying to resist what appears to be a natural tendency to write off the populations of citizens that live within each infidel country whose leaders have made this pact with the devil and on some level wish the worst for them out of sheer spite. It would be an easy thing to do as the threat looms and grows ever stronger for each of us. But its a natural human tendency which needs to be vigorously resisted.

jud -- Islam is more than a false religion, it is a system of government that seeks to dominate the world, and religion is it's false facade; complete with a false god, false prophet, and a false holy book.

False god = allah = satan
False prophet = Mo the Murderer
False holy book = Qur'an

Hmmm -- I just described a cult.

Precisely, champ! We are dealing with a fascist political ideology and the sooner it is identified as such, the more quickly the problem will be dealt with. Calling Islam a religion, is like calling a great white shark a guppy with severe overbite.

How people are able to disregard Islam's theocratic nature and still continue to give it religious credibility goes beyond all reason. Theocracy is the enemy of all thinking people.

Hugh,

"Chavez supporters or those nostalgic for Marcos Perez Jimenez, it doesn't matter. Venezuelans should be made to realize that as long as they are not Muslims, they are Infidels, and as long as they are Infidels, they are in the eyes of Muslims the permanent enemy."

Perez Jimenez was taken down. He was a dictator, pure and simple. Chavez is smarter: he is a populist. He appeals to the wretched poor that live in ranchitos on the hillsides around Caracas and are in the majority. So much for "democracy"--one person, one vote. It will not bring you the best government. It will get you people like Chavez who hates the "Musius" as much as the Mexicans feel about us Gringos.

The Latin Americans that loved Americans were the pre-Castro Cubans. The rest of Latin America is jealous of us, but they want to come over here, work and enjoy what this country offers.

I know that Chavez type, I had occasion to deal with Venezuelan of his type. He feels inferior to us and that is why he allied himself with Castro and plays footsie with the Islamics. Only he doesn't know who he's playing with. This guy is no intellectual giant. He is cunning and street-smart though--but not as concerns the Islamics.

I doubt that he has read and studied the koran and the other Moslem scriptures, and he relies on intuition: enemy of the US, ally myself with them.

Only he made a fatal mistake. You make a deal with the devil, he takes your soul. No matter how much you wriggle and try to get out of it.

The quickest way for China and the Russians to come on board in the WOT is to disrupt the flow of their oil. This is going to sound bassackwards but I hope al-Qaeda is successfull. Better the crunch than more airplanes to wake everybody up. It would hit everyone, if Russia can't sell, their economy takes a hit, if China can't buy, their economy takes a hit. If Europe can't buy, their social programs and economy takes a hit. And we get smacked across the chops so we wake up too. Canada would look good with proper security but would probably be scared to death. And Hugo... Hugo would start looking like a two day old steak that hasn't been refrigerated. All in all, a whole bunch of p***ed off people in the club.

What, pray tell, are you talking about?

Do you equate ALL of Latin America to Cuba? Have you seen a map lately?

Don't imagine that ALL of Latin America is jealous of the U.S., kindly. There are many Latinos that certainly love to visit here, and get the goodies, but when all is said and done, they return home eagerly. Home is home, after all.

I agree with "jud" that Islam is, in fact, an evil religion. The religion status of Islam is a done deal, folks. It's silly to think otherwise, for two reasons:

1) It has been part of the standard mainstream definition of Islam for centuries.

2) A religion can be evil. A "religion" isn't ipso facto benign.

I disagree with the snapshot assessment of "jud" that this site, Jihad Watch, is guilty of political correctness. Jihad Watch may now and then show slight signs of not being perfectly and solidly ensconced at the acme of the epiphany about the Problem of Islam, but its distance from that perfect position is so small, it's almost microscopic -- and, more importantly, it's the closest sociopolitical machine we've got anywhere. The fact that it has to take the form of a website and not an actual political party or officially organized group of influential businessmen and politicians (let alone, God forbid, an actual Western government) is the fault of our society at large, not of the captain, his trusty ensign, and the crew here.

It already happened once. The members of Tudeh, the Iranian Communist party, helped Khomeini rise to power; he repaid them by mass imprisonment and execution in the 1980's. (Khomeini also executed the Iranian general who, during the Shah's time, spared his life.)

As for Chávez, let me quote Indiana Jones in unadultered schadenfreude:

"Adiós, estúpido!"

From the end of the beginning of Raiders of the Lost Ark, of course.

Mr. Chavez should take some time reading the quran and Marx, the father of communism. Or he might even ask his friend Fidel who seems to be a bit more literate.
From Marx he'll learn that religion is like opium to people. From reading the quran he might conclude that this religion might have a much heavier impact than opium and it's effects on some reader's minds could come closer to that of crack, going completely mad.
And his friend Castro might remember him that communism isn't just a poor people's cool Prada brand but an ideology.
Communists calling the most totalitarian religion a friend are obviously completely out of their minds and ideological background. These ideologies are in fact deadly enemies.
In his new "friends" manifesto - the qu'ran he might also read that he as a communist and therefore atheist is regarded as an even lower human being (I am not even sure if muslims consider atheists still human beings..) than Bush who's a professing Christian and therefore part of the people of the book religions....
Well, at least his new friends are very honest about him. He's nothing more than a useful bug for them. A bug they'll step on on the first appropriate moment.

This may sound cynical, but it is obvious that islamites cannot resist the temptation to strike against oil-based infrastructure. THey can cause short-term trouble, but it is a fallacy to think that there is an oil weapon in the long term.

They would in that case shoot themselves to the foot because the saudis and iran completely dependent on oil - we must buy but they absolutely must sell. Our oil dependency is a fact, but the same applies even more so to oil-based islam. A situation where oil has alternatives would mean that they desperately must sell but we don't necessarily have to buy. Al-Qaida is begging a technocratic nose-blood - in effect they invite the oil-buying clientele to play with the idea of replacing oil.

Did he not find that out reading Noam Chomsky? No it seems.
In fact, there are a lot of things you won’t find out reading Noam Chomsky.

oh my God it would be sweet irony indeed if al-queda blew something up in Venezuela. President Hugo would suddenly find himself on the same side as the US he hates so much. Doesnt he understand no matter how hard he makes nice to the muslims it still doesnt change the fact that he's not a muslim and his country is not under sharia law? they'll go after him too after the rest of us fall. I guess he's using the 'I'll do this if you eat me last' type of foreign policy

and also not to mention the fact that where the heck would saudi get its terror funds from if it suddenly lost its oil. i ALMOST kinda wish they would do it and cut us all off from that big teat were suckling while we pay for our own demise. force us to use alternative energy that doesn't have a dam thing to do with the middle east. I for one am sick of filling up my car knowing that in all likelihood some of my money is going straight to those who wish our destruction

Hm - not very wise, openly wanting to verify the authenticity of these reports.
Have the Venezualans forgotten the Bay of Pigs?
Do they believe the US will tolerate an Al Qaeda strongholt in the basement?
It seems a wonderful excuse to hermetically seal off the southern part of America from the north..
