Germany's Muslim population is becoming more religious and more conservative. Islamic associations are fostering the trend, particularly through their work with the young -- accelerating the drift towards a parallel Muslim society.[...]
Surveys in the country have charted a significant increase in fundamentalist attitudes, particularly among younger Muslims. The experiences of Ekin Deligöz, a member of the German parliament representing the Green Party, underscore the potential dangers. Having called on Muslim women to remove their headscarves, Deligöz faced death threats and now receives police protection.
Disturbing as this trend may be, it cannot be pinned exclusively on Muslim groups. Under the guise of religious tolerance, German society stood blithely by as some parts of its Muslim communities began turning into parallel societies. For years, the country's courts have been excusing Muslim girls from coed swimming lessons and class outings - citing the most absurd reasons for their rulings.

School is one of the few places where young Muslims come into contact with the non-Islamic environment. As a result, the teachers often see what is happening most clearly. Dietmar Pagel, principal of the Hector-Peterson High School in the Kreuzberg district of Berlin, actively seeks dialog with his students. But with increasing frequency, he and his colleagues feel they are banging their heads against a brick wall. "Lots of our adolescents have a fundamentalist outlook on life," he says. Many more girls are wearing headscarves, and almost all the Muslim students fasted during the major Islamic holidays, with catastrophic consequences for their performance at school. "The further we get into Ramadan, the more distracted the pupils become."
He often feels let down by the politicians who discuss the problems of integration more passionately than ever, yet won't appoint the additional social workers and teachers he needs. But Pagel refuses to give up. After the caricatures of Mohammed were published, he attempted to debate the controversy with his pupils. But the discussion was hopelessly lopsided. The children contributed a few bits of factual information, the principal relates, but then "the room fell silent when it came to the moral dimension, so the teachers simply held forth on their own ideas."
He cannot get through to his pupils any more, Pagel complains. "If I say that headscarves are worn less in Turkey than here, they simply counter: 'That's why we came to Germany, so that we can openly practice our religion.'" And sometimes they simply remind him that - as a non-Muslim - he would be better off keeping such views to himself.

On 21st February, Prof Professor Tim Brighouse, Chief Adviser for London Schools will launch MCB's publication entitled 'Towards Greater Understanding - meeting the needs of Muslim pupils in state schools, Information & Guidance for Schools'. The guidelines have been prepared by the MCB's Education Committee and the launch is taking place at the Islamic Cultural Centre.
Tahir Alam, who wrote the report, said: "It's not about special or separate treatment. It's about recognising the needs of Muslim children. We're not asking every school to do that, just where there's a Muslim majority.

* Schools must recognise and celebrate the two Eids and other Islamic festivals in collective worship and assembly themes.
* Schools should celebrate Eid by handing out sweets and making the school dinners Eid dinners.
* Schools must have a policy for PE incorporating Islamic dress codes.
* Primary schools must build separate changing areas for boys and girls.
* Secondary schools must build individual changing and shower cubicles.
* Schools must make provision for seperate swimming lessons for boys and girls and provide a teacher of the same sex for each gender class.
* Schools unable to provide sex segregation must allow muslim pupils to use local community pools instead.
* Schools must allow muslims to withdraw from dance classes.

* When drawing up the Religious Education timetable, schools must take into account the religious make-up of the pupils.

My mom worked for the Minneapolis public schools. She told me about all the demands made on the staff by the Somali community. Number one on their list was the girls taking their hajib of at school. She got the word from her boss that she was to make sure all the somali girls kept the hijabs on. My mom was upset understandably because it shouldn't be her job to enforce sharia law. The never ending list of demands continues to grow.
No special treatment should be given to Muslim students, and the only thing that should be enforced is strict secular principles and national pride.

It is the same here in the USA. Only we find it easier to look outward, rather that look to our own Nation. It may be that we are overloaded by this and feel helpless to do anything about it, so we turn our focus towards other places and never give a thought to what is really going on here. As an example take Dearborn Michigan. It started out as a small Islamite community and is now the largest muslam population in the USA. They started in Dearborn but they are now the dominate people in Dearborn Hights, Farmington, Farmington Hills, Livonia, Garden City, Inkster, Hamtramic, and Detroits west side. There is even 4 Madrassa 'schools' in detroit. The property was transfered to the islamites for 1$ as a donation to their cause, by the now defucnt Detroit School Board.

When the Chief Adviser for London Schools should be in support of even just a single line of what's written in that document the British are right to withdraw their troops from any confrontations with Muslims in Iraq or Afghanistan or anywhere else.
They are fighting the war on the wrong side..
Simply doesn't make sense to fight on the international front for the very rights that are step by step replaced in the British homeland.
(by the way - only natural that the Christian majority respects Muslim rights whenever these are a minority - and gets stripped off every right once these are a majority??)
The same muslim fundamtalist who runs the risk of getting shot by the British army in Afghanistan might very well be caressed and see his religious "needs" catered to by the British authorities (who ultimately command the British army) - if he only happens to expose his views and demand their implementaton in the British homeland and not in remote Afghanistan.
How much longer will it take until they tear the cross from the English and British flags to please their Muslim communities and ease their tremendous pain(you know, memories of that crusader stuff that makes some poor muslims reel over in pain day and night)?
Some years ago I would never have believed it but the British seem to be eager to prove the world that a state doesn't need a majority of muslims to become islamic, not even 10%. 1,5% seem to be sufficient?

I wonder what the Chief Advisor for London Schools would say if the Orthodox Jewish community wanted the following considerations.

* Schools must not schedule sex and relationship lessons or swimming during Yom Kippur.

Don't be so upset when your mother is asked to enforce sharia letter. Be upset when your mother's dual educated mosque\school tell you why your mother must enforce the hijab. Be upset when her pupils tell her they learned in the mosque they must wear the hijab so they will not become an infidel whore like your mother.

we should care because the fate of Europe is our own fate. With every Muslim foothold gained in western Europe its another loss for us. We are them, they are us. Whether its Australia, Germany, Canada, Britain or America, its happening all over in the same way. Western civilization as a whole needs to realize our common values, be proud of them, and fight back!
whats sad is all the classical music geniuses that came out of Germany, one of their greatest gifts to the world is music that will be forbidden under sharia.

The only problem about fighting back is that our government would not allow it. If we were to form militias and clean up places like Dearborne, we would be arrested for hate crimes.
It's time to elect people who will recognize our plight as a nation (and civilization) and change the laws that will protect us from Islam.
We have to begin by educating everyone we know about the vileness of the religion of peace, and shout down organizations such as CAIR and their ilk. Demonstrations at the Capital would help get us some recognition as well as labels such as "racists", "bigots", or "Islamophobic". To me it doesn't matter that I'm labeled as such as long as truth prevails.
I think we should make the term "Islamophobic" something to be proud of. Maybe I'll go into the tee-shirt business and sport my islamaphobe haberdashery around town. The more people are exposed to the word they will embrace the idea. Besides, it's no uglier than a hijab or burka, and millions of people wear them, and do so with pride!
Boy, I got off subject....sorry. I agree with many of you who say we should not allow schools to adopt sharia. It should be just the opposite; make them conform to us. If they want sharia they need to go back to Crapistan!

The current "religious tolerance" of the Germans most probably has its roots in wanting to reverse the intolerance (and more) shown to its Jews of yesteryear.
Germans must be made to realize that Moslems are nothing like the Jews that lived among them for years.

Germany is the largest exporter to Iran in the world, consisting of nearly 6 billion dollars annually in business and at least 12 to 15 thousand German jobs. France represents around 1 billion dollars in exports to Iran annually.

If only we could look on Europe with disinterest but it can't happen. That syphilis with which they've infected themselves is being carried over here every day on every plane from countries which have visa-free travel to the US.
Europe is going down, but they are taking us along with them. There's nothing we can do unless we want to renounce all those travel agreements and close our doors to all Muslims from all countries.
It will never happen, not even after the next 9/11. Globalization means we will all go down together.

Do schools provide religious material on other faiths? On what basis?
* Schools must provide Arabic and other relevant language lessons.
As opposed to what? What "relevant" lessons? How is Arabic relevant to life in London?

I have to encourage everyone of you in the USA. Rome wasn't built in a day. Sharia doesn't have to become the norm. This whole mega project is a huge cultural reassessment of who we are as a country.
I am going to write every school district trustee in my local area about how British Schools are being assaulted by the concept sharia. I will attempt to point out how Sharia is the goal.
The point is that take your strength from Jihadwatch and other sites and then broadcast to others who dont have the time to do so.
You are doing them a service, to help them understand and evaluate their own ideas of self against this mindless Fundamentalist program.
The concept is simple. When you understand the whole of the critique of Islam. Take an article that talks to an area of our society, School, work, commerce and write to the particular leader in your area responsible for it.
Islamic fundamentalism is religous coersion of free choice. All other spiritual disciplines develope a sense of internal struggle. Islam pushes the social and crushes free choice.

My husband and I took up the Islam-in-public schools issue about 2 years ago in CT. Typically, our then public school district was teaching the usual PC crud to our son, and some of the comments he was making (he was 7 at the time) were anti-semitic, anti-Christian and just down-right disturbing. Products of public education in the US, we were simply shocked... The school wanted to teach about religions and holidays, but portrayed a very negative view of Christianity but a rosy, unrealistic picture of Islam. It was very evident that the teachers and school system wanted to paint a very lop-sided portrait of the ROP...
As a result, we called the teacher, the principal, and anyone we could get through to. I had a fit. I questioned each "teacher's" academic credentials to teach these subjects, documented inaccuracies, and demanded that they 1) either teach ALL major religions in a non-bias way or 2) stop teaching any of it. We DEMANDED it. Funny, none of the little teachers or principals wanted to deal with us "crazed" parents.
Finally, we ended up speaking to the Superintendant of Schools on Christmas Eve, if you can believe the irony. We made the case for either teaching the subjects properly and in a non-bias way, or not at all. Both my husband and I are well versed in history and I am so especially in the background on Islam -- we corned the school board. At the time, I think they were scared we were going to sue them -- I might have at that time, I don't know. However, they did agree to re-assess the teaching process for such subjects, and agreed they weren't qualified to teach the subject.
It ended there as far as I know, and thankfully we moved out of that h*ll hole. It was truly frightful to realize how much the PC/liberal Marxist public school teachers are in on this propaganda and the depth of the mindbend they are undertaking on our public school children. And at tax-payer expense!
My son has now been educated appropriately for his age...he understands some of history, and has been introduced to the basic background of comparative religions. However, it is interesting now that at 9 years old, he really pays attention ...he picks up on a lot in the news and in movies. Every time he sees a flash when flipping channels of ranting and raving masses of psychos on TV burning flags and rioting or killing people, he calmly looks over to his father and says, "Muslims?"
However, I'm ever, ever vigilent. You have to be!

I find it highly amusing if such statements come from an english. Your country is crawling with radical muslims and there is a reason why your capital is widely known as "Londonistan".
I think your country (along with France) will be the first, that will succumb to the islamic-jihadist syphillis and as much as i dislike you and your country it will be a really sad day for the western world when this happens.
