Imam Musa's Myspace page is back

The Washington, DC imam whose Myspace page Daniel Pipes and I are alleged to have hacked is back. It's here. (Thanks to Marked Manner.)

A few highlights:

While incarcerated, Imam Musa accepted traditional, orthodox Islam before his release. For many years after his release, the Imam continued his studies of Islam and was a keen observer of the political and social events taking place in the Muslim world. Following the 1979 Islamic Revolution in Iran, in a move that was rare for Sunni Muslims, Imam Musa publicly expressed his support for the Islamic Republic and its leader Ayatollah Khomeini. Since the early 1980s, he made several visits to Iran as a representative of Muslims in the United States and a supporter of the Islamic revival. He made connections with a wide array of Muslim leaders during the decade--both Sunni and Shia--and stressed that unity was a primary objective for the Islamic movement's success. After searching for leadership for several years without success, he took it upon himself to create an organization--the As-Sabiqun--that was capable of supporting the unique needs of Muslims living in the US while simultaneously incorporating an international outlook and agenda. His methodology draws heavily on the writings of Malcolm X, Maulana Mawdudi, Sheikh Uthman dan Fodio, Hasan al-Banna, Sayyid Qutb, Kalim Siddiqui, and Imam Khomeini. New members of the group are encouraged to individually familiarize themselves with the works of these Islamic thinkers in addition to attending daily classes and lectures on classical Islamic studies, (Qur’an, Hadith, fiqh, Seerah, etc.). Special emphasis is placed on personal development and growth based on the Qur'an and Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), as well as incorporating tightly knit family units within the overall community structure. The movement has spread across the US and is extremely popular among college students and African-American youth. Imam Musa has been regularly invited to speak at college campuses and Islamic events around the world. Critics have suggested that he promotes anti-Semitism in his speeches, which he claims are directed at Zionist supporters of Israel and not at Jewish people in general. During a rally in July 1999 Imam Musa displayed a cashier's check made out to "Hamas, Palestine," to protest the 1996 U.S. law which declared Hamas a terrorist organization. On July 7, 2000, Imam Musa suffered harassment at the hands of the police when he was assaulted, threatened with a gun and then arrested while stopping the policemen from brutally beating a motorist. Imam Musa was charged with "assaulting the police." He spent two nights in jail before appearing before a judge on July 10. In court, the police reduced the charge against him to a misdemeanor. On October 31, 2001, Imam Musa, along with Imam Muhammad al-'Asi and others, appeared at the National Press Club and, in a program which was televised by C-SPAN, disputed the official story of what happened on Sept. 11, 2001, implying that the U.S. government was involved based on its historical pattern of creating wars to benefit pre-conceived agendas. The re-airing of this program was cancelled due to complaints by the Anti-Defamation League.

Appeasement by the dynamic duo? Say it isn't so Batman!

Every once in a while I'm reminded to count my blessings. Imagine Charlie Manson getting out of prison with a head full of Islam. Look what he did with a Beatles song.

I see very often a strange amalgam of superiority complex meshed with paranoia when looking at these Imams. Very strange indeed.

What am I to conclude from this? That the black man basically can't handle freedom? That he can't resist drugs and alcohol because he is too weak on the inside and in order to kick the booze and drugs and to create a tight family system he requires a system that will deprive him of his freedom altogether? (What if he changes his mind about Islam and wants out? What of the ultimate freedom - freedom of conscience? Is that too much freedom for him to actually stand?)

How easy it must be if one feels inferior for whatever reason, to buy into Islam. What does one need to do to join the club of instant superiority? Study anything? Master anything? Produce anything? No - nothing at all. One merely has to recite the shehada, which takes less than one minute, and shebang! One is important and special! Shebang! One is gasp - actually superior! Shebang! One can now actually walk around with an erect posture feeling very proud and dignified! Islam is magic for the self-esteem of the dispossesed! Shebang!

And so what of the millions of blacks sold into slavery by Islam? What do black American Muslims have to say about Darfur? Do they know what has happened to black Christians and animists in Africa under Islam? Do they care?

P.S. Sorry - don't do PC...

"And so what of the millions of blacks sold into slavery by Islam? What do black American Muslims have to say about Darfur? Do they know what has happened to black Christians and animists in Africa under Islam? Do they care?"

American Blacks who become Muslims are looking for an Identity, so they gladly buy into the fiction that they have some historical connection to Islam. Nothing is further from the truth. But then, the truth is the last thing they want to hear.

They want to believe that they have some Islamic past, just as they want to believe that Egyptians were Black, Hannibal was Black, and a host of other historical figures were Black, so they believe it.

No point in telling them the truth. They prefer fiction.

rational: "They prefer fiction."

And mental slavery apparently. I'd love to be proven wrong on that.

I don`t think America will get as bad as Europe. However, the average American is not really aware how the viloence-inclined element of the Civil Rights movement moved naturally and easily into Islam.

So, here is Musa`s buddy, the former H. Rap Brown, his trial postponed for fear of prejudice after 9/11, and yet the country Musa lives in he thinks is "Amerikkka."

Of course, it was all a frame up by the gov`t.

Why is this punk allowed to travel to and from Iran SEVERAL times? Why is this punk allowed to make inflamatory speeches? Why isn't this punk in Gitmo as a virtual agent for the enemy? So many questions and no good answers. If a punk like this is allowed to do as he pleases then we are doomed to defeat in the war against Islamania.

Caroline & rational

I must say the majority of African-Americans are not muslims and have no want of being muslim. I went to a high school that had a majority black population. The truth is although a few blacks (very loud ones) seem to buy into the muslim id nonsense most refuse for various reasons. The fact is most African-Americans have moved into the burbs and live middle class lives. There will always be the Imam Musa types but last time I looked there have been a fair share of white converts who are causing trouble (cough..Dougie). Of course there is a threat of Islam using race as a divider but the fact is most African-Americans don't get along Arabs muslims in places were they live side by side. Look at Detroit for instance. Not what I would call a moment of unity.

The truth is most African-Americans laugh at guys like Imam Musa with the usual insults of "bean-eater" being used.

It is arrogant for us to imagine that the Western world influence can consider that there is no other paradigm in exsistence that equates in prestige and power worthy of being considered as an alternative world view. Dont imagine that Imam Musa is some antiquated and deranged Black man. To the contrary he is one of many men and women who have determined that life can be exalted and lived according to principles beyond the scope of western ideology. Stop crying, and dreaming hiddeous nightmares of your own demented minds, projecting past crimes against humanity onto detractors to the reality of western imperialism.

sheik yer'mami/

And Dugard went to Stellenbosch - an Afrikans University - the self-same University which produced Andries Petrus Treurnicht and is, to this day, so far to the right as to disgust even any self-respecting fascist. By his past so will you know him. Nuff said, I think.

He is just the usual self-hating PC Westerner - only, in his case, complicated by his Afrikaner roots and his obvious self-loathing and Jew hatred (which is another characteristic of most of the alumni of Stellenbosch.

RANDY J/

Dear goodness, in one short and pithy paragraph you have managed to sum up everything that is wrong with the PC World View today and you have quite effectively demonstrated, in the same paragraph, exactly how our free and ancient peoples have succumbed to the infection. Go take a cold bath, boy, and have a close, a very close, look at the so-called values of islam.

Then, if you dare, compare them with the values of Western, Democratic, Free, Tolerant societies. If, after all that, you still want to live in your fantasy PC world then that's fine by me - just don't expect me to want to share the make-believe world which you have so carefully, assiduously and so obviously constructed for yourself.

After your cold bath, which I strongly advise, go read the archives here on this site and then read the koran and the ahadith: not difficult and rather disgusting (don't eat too close before reading - see His Emminence Cardinal Pell). When you have fully educated yourself about this debate (or war, as some here would have it) then come back here and give us your considered opinion - as opposed your wishy-washy, knee-jerk (jerk), immature, ill-informed opinion which you had the temerity to post.

Dominic.

I see if you want to make a government, you can advertise it on the Internet. To buy into it, is to promote terrorism, and the consequences should be jail. If you promote peace and harmony, you'll be rewarded, you do the opposite, you should be killed. Simple arithmatic. He's lucky, he wasn't killed, but we never know what the future holds ?

"He made connections with a wide array of Muslim leaders during the decade--both Sunni and Shia--and stressed that unity was a primary objective for the Islamic movement's success" from the article above.

So Imam Musa is part of the worldwide Shi'a-Zionist conspiracy? Or is Imam Musa just listening to his Imam Massa in Tehran? Last time I looked, dear Imam, the Iranians are WHITE people!

greatcomic - I hear you. I happen to live in a completely mixed "burb" in North Carolina. But it is still the case that to date, the only women I see (aside from the thankfully still rare freak show in a burkha) wearing the hijab around here are African-American women. (I have not yet seen a white woman in hijab in these parts). But why do I see African-American women here dressed in hijab? I think to myself when I see them - why do you willfully choose slavery now that you actually have a choice? And now that I realize that this is a global war that threatens all of our freedoms, and that the extremists ultimately "swim in the moderate sea", I cannot look at that African-American woman in her hijab and smile at her. I am not the least bit interested in her need for self-exploration. She just pisses me off.

I have heard Musa speaking, from his own mouth, and the words I heard, were filled with hate, violence, and anti-semitism...He is a vile one, this Musa.....
