Ostensibly, the reason the failing Ariel Sharon wanted to turn Gaza over to the Arabs was because it was too difficult and costly for the IDF to protect the Israeli communities there. The clueless Olmert completed the deed, partly to please the US and the Europeans of theinfamous "quartet."

As expected by all sane people, the Arabs turned the land abandoned to them, replete with greenhouses and the synagogues, into the pigsties that they have made everywhere they settled.

As expected these Arbas now were closer to what remains of Israel to launch their rockets.

As here in the US, Israel lacks the leadership to combat its enemies.

Ignoring Abu Abir's lack of irony, I was trying to think what mind set creates such a statement, and my conclusion is that Abu Abir is at war with Israel.

Just as the Allied Armies pushed back the Axis forces and used the won land to launch new offences - and rightly gloried in the achievements - Abu Abir has the same mind set in his approach to Israel. He and the 'palistinians' are at war with Israel, a war to destroy Israel.

Now this may be stating the obvious, but so often the 'palistinian cause' is described as a 'stuggle against occupation' when really just simply understanding the words, mind set and approach of the people in 'the cause' will reveal that it is a war to destroy Isreal.

Why is it that the western media are so blind to what these people are clearly saying?

It reminds me of all the clear statements that Islamic leaders have issued (Bin Ladin, Abu Hamsa etc) about the war with infidels, and we still don't take it seriously.

These jerks always claim the anti Jihad forces cherry pick the murderous and evil passages from Koran and Hadith. Some of them are lazy and ill educated about how awful their scriptures are. They live in their "own private Islam" (Hugh's phrase). They ignore and deny and sometimes never even read the awfulness that abounds in their "holy" books. The viciousness in these scriptures is apparent in any contrast to Christian or Buddhist holy books. There is violence in the Old Testament. Lots of killing and smiting and polygamy. But none of these passages are timeless examples for the Jew to emulate. Jews just learn from them.

While Muslims are extorted to emulate the example, the life of Mohammad. And what a bloody life this was when you read it all and don't live in denial of his awful deeds. Most Muslims will serve up to the unwary infidel a white washing of Mohammed's life. While among themselves they will brag about Muhammad the conquering warlord and the fuller scope of his life

It never fails to amaze, outrage,and shock me how an increasing number of fools buy into the Big Lies of Israeli "occupation" and its corollaries: portrayal of Israeli attempts at self-defense as land-grabbing and its policies as apartheid. Let's look at the facts:
1. Israel, in exchange for promises of normalized relations with Egypt (which, of course, never happened, thanks to Egypt), returned the Sinai Peninsula and its oilfields, which the Israelis discovered and developed. The oilfields permitted Israel to become largely self-sufficient with respect to its energy needs. The Sinai, it cannot be emphasized enough, is virtually the size Israel. Thus, in effect, in the hope that peace and normalization could be achieved with an implacable enemy, Israel sacrificed one half of its land area and all of its oil to Egypt - for nothing, as it turned out.
2. Israel also offered Egypt Gaza, which Egypt refused.
3. Israel ceded control of most of the West Bank to the Palestinian Authority as part of the Oslo "road map." This resulted in over 90% of the resident Arabs living under the jurisdiction of th PA. In 2005, Israel ceded all of Gaza to the PA as well, and no Jews remain. Zero. All for peace, and a nascent Palestinian Arab state under the PA.
4. Within Israel, one third of the population is non-Jewish, the overwhelming majority of these non-Jews being Arab Muslims.
5. In the territories under PA jurisdiction, there are ZERO Jews. This state of affairs is considered non-controversial; right and proper. After all, how dare a Jew reside in areas under PA jurisdiction? Let them go back to Europe, where they came from.
6. The state of Jordan, an area several times larger than Israel and originally intended as a homeland for Palestinian Arabs, is completely free of Jews. Furthermore, it was created as a Jew-free zone by the British after the Ottoman Empire collapsed.
7. Lebanon, immediately to the north of Israel, formerly had a large Jewish population. For half a century, not one Jew (no, I believe that there may literally be one there now, so I've read somewhere) has lived there. Why? Because they were driven out when Israel became a nation. Same thing in Syria, Iraq, Algeria, Libya, Egypt...nine hundred thousand Jews, resident in the cradle of civilization and in North Africa since antiquity -killed or expelled from these Muslim countries. In the aforementioned countries, a few hundred elderly Jews still precariously exist. In Yemen, perhaps a thousand or so, all threatened.

But Israel, approximately equal in area to the state of New Jersey, is branded an apartheid, land-grabbing state, and an Occupier.
Insane.
