Unifil must have a hard life. It really must be exhausting watching Hezbollah do all that work every day. And since Hezbollah is so busy in the construction business they could not possibly have any time to smuggle weapons through Unifil's positions.

Is it not the job of Unifil to inform the UN and the World this is going on? Was it not their Mission to prevent such things from happining?

Looks to me like Unifil likes the idea of being smack dab in the middle of the Kill Zone. Makes one wonder what to expect of them.

I can vision some convoluted Europen thinking that would justify Hezbollah's right to defend themselfs from Israelie agression. With Unilil's role of making sure that happens.

It was Europe complaining of "disproporsional use of force" when Israel destroyed all of Hezbollah's front line defence network. Blew up it's Command and controle networks in Southernn Beruit. while chasing Goasts Cluster Bombing Launch sites in Residential areas. A mistake to make the stated goal to eliminate this weapon is the reason Israel is viewed as "loosing". In many ways, the rockets Hezbollah uses, for practical purposes, is little more than bigger versions of our 4Th of July Fireworls. If you don't really give a rip as to where it lands. As long as 90% of the time it is bound to land "over there". Then just a little ramp, set at an angle will do.
Light the Fuse. They go where they go, they land where they land. No Army will ever stop that without owning the ground.

Right now, Unifil just pushed back the range a little.
If one accepts convoluted Europen thinking, then is it a forgone conclusion that they would actually defend or (Allih forbid) join with Israel when the inevitable Fireworks go off???

Wouldn't NATO, fighting itself, kind of complicate matters a bit?

On the other hand, can we suppose their leaders might have anticipated this situation, and have prohibited them from having any loaded weapons?

Those UN "Peacekeepers" are green, green, green. Many of them have never learned how to open a bottle of wine under fire.

The sad thing is that those Christians and Druze are giving up land they owned from the beginning of time, and they are more likely being forcefully evicted for small change rather than sold out. It is a form of ethnic cleansing on prime real-estate. It is a sad state of affairs there, which will foster a darker future for the region.
