Tenure is an idea whose time has come, and gone. But it should have particularly gone for those who, in 1942, had swastika flags draped on their office wallls, and who might have spent spring vacation visiting Fritz Kuhn in jail, There is a limit. This Pino should be fired, and it should be done not by those who will simply be crude know-nothings, but clever know-everythings, so that the ACLU does not get to have its promised field-day. The state of Ohio does not have to pay the salary of someone who identifies with those who are against, not merely the State of Ohio, but against all the legal and political institutions, and social arrrangements, of this country.

Contrary to what fifth-graders think, the phrase "This is a free country" is not the end of political discussion. How this is a free country, why this is a free country, the reasonable and even admirable and certainly necessary limits on the individual freedoms that this free country guarantees, all this has to be understood.

And Pino has to conduct his Jihad elsewhere. I suggest Gaza. Or possibly Fallujah. Or perhaps --why not -- answer one of those ads, for one of those dismal "universities" in Kuwait or the U.A.E. or even in Saudi Arabia, where one can teach English as a second language, or do whatever it is that expatriates do, as no doubt well-paid wage slaves for the rich Arabs. "Money can buy everything -- except civilization" is how one Franco-Armenian summed up for me his years in Saudi Arabia.

Pino will not, alas, be able to take part in any mission civilisatrice. After all, he voluntarily embraced the mental straitjacket of Islam, has voluntarily adopted the habit of mental submission. But the Saudis will find a use for him, no doubt. Perhaps just as an example: the Infidel "Revert" who was attracted by the harmony, the goodness, the essential rightness of Islam. Put him on display, and let him tour Saudi Arabia. But get him off the Ohio State payroll. There is a limit to what taxpayers should be expected to endure.

And if Kent State turns out to be a private university, then its Trustees have even less of a First Amendment problem. They can regulate speech at a private university however they choose. The AAUP (the American Association of University Professors) has no legal -- and by now little moral authority -- to argue otherwise.

Isn't the idiotic war to bring "freedom" to "ordinary moms and dads" in the Middle East enough squandering? If Americans are, as Bush and Bush loyalists like to say, "fighting them over there so we won't have to fight them over here" then what are we going to do with the likes of Professor Pino -- who happens to be "fighting the Jihad right here," that is, aiding and abetting "them," right in Ohio.

This is as dangerous as some professors because they usually hook up for the "cause" and make a little network.

And the rest of the website sure looks way over the top to me. The genuine jihadist websites I've seen are full of quotes from the Muslim sacred texts and quotes from various Muslim religious authorities down through history. This one is not.

The idea may be to set up a false-flag website to try to entrap radical Muslims who might be enticed into "joining my jihad."

So let's not jump the gun on this one. If it's an FBI sting operation, the more we publicize it to outraged non-Muslims, the less effective it will be.

I've sent many messages to the F.B.I. alterting them about Jihadi activities in the U.S.A.

So far, no one has investigated me. If they do, I will invite them to my house and we will sit together and read from my abundant library of Jihadi texts:

Koran, Sunna, Sira.

I can help them understand that the Jihad threat is woven into the DNA of Islam. I can help them with the concept of abrogation, the Meccan and Medina Mohammad, difficulties in Arabic, etc. Maybe they'll hire me.

One never completely learns Arabic. I am a student of Arabic for many years. It helped that I lived in Israel as a teenager and very thoroughly mastered the Hebrew I was taught at length as a child.

There are three languages in Arabic: The classical Arabic of Koran, the Modern Standard Written Language of newspapers and books, etc. and the spoken dialects. I have a good knowledge of all three but I am and will always be a mere student.

these are students that go into English Second Language programs that are on campuses across the US. therefore they don't show up on enrollment but they are part of the campus.

I bought a few more spencer books from Amazon and sent them to some politicians. I think eventually the libreal media needs to be toppled its too filled with useful idiots --useful to Islam. I encourage everybody to form anti islam blogs and write to papers, send out literature. Because soon when we are fighting against these scum in our own streets (like Paris) it will be too late for words by that time we will be too busy loading our weapons and telling our kids to 'pass the ammo'. DebV, undoubtedly the mainland Chinese have their problems and shortcomings. Certainly they are an authoritarian State and that's bad. Yes they have government media with one point of view. Basically we have media with one dominant view too I'm sorry to say. Ever switch back and forth between ABC, CBS, and NBC on the nightly news?

I'm not endorsing that kind of State authority but if comes down to a matter of survival then all bets are off. The problem we have here, unlike the Chinese, is that the people in charge of our State don't seem to care much whether the nation survives or not. At least the Chinese are patriots.

Furthermore, the vast majority of "Orientals" as you put it, who come here, are law-abiding, tax-paying, contributing members of our society who want to assimilate and become good citizens, which is more than can be said of a lot of native-born folks who don't do diddly-squat for their country.

The American left, which has seized control of our institutions of higher learning, gives aid and comfort to Supremacist Islam because they've found a movement which hates America as much as they (the leftists) do. JewDog, nice spoof on a great tune.I believe that song is called "escape' ,maybe it's the 'pina colada' song.I believe it's the first and the latter is in parenthases on the c.d. or jukebox.no matter,sorry i got in a rut there.

Any way i used to have a boat that i named 'escapn'. I have lived here on the river for over 12 yrs.In the summer we have an event called the great Raft off.Large boats anchor off into the shallowest as possible water with smaller and other larger boats tied to eachother.You can walk from most boats,well wade,like a street.There are also ski jets scurrying to and fro to hitch rides on to visit any boat you choose.One year the event made it into the guiness book of world records with well over 100 boats,closer to 200.But i just thought about this because this was my theme song for the event.The event was great all the way around because they were some of my best memories and it was a charitable event for childrens needs.

long story short thanks for the flash back.It puts it into perspective of why i visit this room and why we have to fight back to keep the ability to keep creating more of these flashbacks and to allow our future families and thiers the same right.

I agree that relying on the Chinese government or the Russian government for any help on the Jihad front is a foolish hope. Both of those governments would like to see the U.S. taken down a notch or two, and figure that a war against Jihad will slow down our defense spending on the high tech weapon systems used in more traditional symmetrical warfare.

The problem the U.S. has is that there are all sorts of free riders---countries that don't want Jihad to win, but countries that want us the bare the bront of the conflict.

Much of Europe falls in to a less extreme version of that category. China and Russia will continue to drive us crazy with their ME dealings.

Time to wake up now. For too long we have allowed hatred to be disguised as "moral indignation". Imams from around the world need to have a public debate with people like Robert, and PROVE that islam is a religion of peace, SHOW US that the koran does not incite hatred and murder, that women ARE equal and that the crusades were NOT lanched by pope Urban II in response to 400 years of islamic invasion.

It should be simple for muslims to prove their religion is not violently supremacist, the information they need is all in one place, the koran. All they would have to do when Robert says that the koran incites hatred towards other peoples and religions is to say to him "Prove it, show me this imaginary statement in the koran that says this".

So, all muslims, it's simple, we can stop all of this "islamophobia" by just showing everyone that there is NOTHING in the koran or the life of mohammed that suggests anything other than peace. Simple eh?

I sure would like to be a fly on the wall when some urban outdoorsmen (that would be "homeless person" for those of you who don't want to give these less fortunate people a romantic and adventurous title) came to you and demanded his job and your money.

The people who have been telling you about all the rights you have are simply exercising one of theirs - the right to be imbeciles. Their being imbeciles didn't cost anyone else either property or time. It's their right, and they exercise it brilliantly.

By the way, did you catch my use of the phrase "less fortunate" a bit ago when I was talking about the urban outdoorsmen? That phrase is a favorite of the Left. Think about it, and you'll understand why.

To imply that one person is homeless, destitute, dirty, drunk, spaced out on drugs, unemployable, and generally miserable because he is "less fortunate" is to imply that a successful person - one with a job, a home and a future - is in that position because he or she was "fortunate." The dictionary says that fortunate means "having derived good from an unexpected place." There is nothing unexpected about deriving good from hard work. There is also nothing unexpected about deriving misery from choosing drugs, alcohol, and the street instead of education and personal responsibility.

If the Left can create the common perception that success and failure are simple matters of "fortune" or "luck," then it is easy to promote and justify their various income redistribution schemes. After all, we are just evening out the odds a little bit, aren't we?

This "success equals luck" idea the liberals like to push is seen everywhere. Democratic presidential candidate Richard Gephardt refers to high-achievers as "people who have won life's lottery." He wants you to believe they are making the big bucks because they are lucky; all they did was buy the right lottery ticket. What an insult this is to the man or woman who works that 60 hour week to provide for a family.

It's not luck, my friends. It's choice. One of the greatest lessons I ever learned was in a book by Og Mandino, entitled "The Greatest Secret in the World." The lesson? Very simple: "Use wisely your power of choice."

That bum sitting on a heating grate, smelling like a wharf rat? He's there by choice. He is there because of the sum total of the choices he has made in his life. This truism is absolutely the hardest thing for some people to accept, especially those who consider themselves to be victims of something or other - victims of discrimination, bad luck, the system, capitalism, whatever. After all, nobody really wants to accept the blame for his or her position in life. Not when it is so much easier to point and say, "Look! He did this to me!" than it is to look into a mirror and say, "You S.O.B.! You did this to me!"

The key to accepting responsibility for your life is to accept the fact that your choices, every one of them, are leading you inexorably to either success or failure, however you define those terms.

Some of the choices are obvious: Whether or not to stay in school. Whether or not to get pregnant. Whether or not to hit the bottle. Whether or not to keep this job you hate until you get another better-paying job. Whether or not to save some of your money, or saddle yourself with huge payments for that new car.

Some of the choices are seemingly insignificant: Whom to go to the movies with. Whose car to ride home in. Whether to watch the tube tonight, or read a book on investing. But, and you can be sure of this, each choice counts. Each choice is a building block - some large, some small. But each one is a part of the structure of your life. If you make the right choices, or if you make more right choices than wrong ones, something absolutely terrible may happen to you. Something unthinkable. You, my friend, could become one of the hated, the evil, the ugly, the feared, the filthy, the successful, the rich.

Quite a few people have followed that tragic path.

The rich basically serve two purposes in this country. First, they provide the investments, the investment capital, and the brains for the formation of new businesses. Businesses that hire people. Businesses that send millions of paychecks home each week to the un-rich.

Second, the rich are a wonderful object of ridicule, distrust, and hatred. Few things are more valuable to a politician than the envy most Americans feel for the evil rich.

Envy is a powerful emotion. Even more powerful than the emotional minefield that surrounded Bill Clinton when he reviewed his last batch of White House interns. Politicians use envy to get votes and power. And they keep that power by promising the envious that the envied will be punished: "The rich will pay their fair share of taxes if I have anything to do with it.'

The truth is that the top 10% of income earners in this country pays almost 50% of all income taxes collected. I shudder to think what these job producers would be paying if our tax system were any more "fair."

You have heard, no doubt, that in America the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. Interestingly enough, our government's own numbers show that many of the poor actually get richer, and that quite a few of the rich actually get poorer. But for the rich who do actually get richer, and the poor who remain poor ... there's an explanation -- a reason. The rich, you see, keep doing the things that make them rich; while the poor keep doing the things that make them poor.

Speaking of the poor, during your adult life you are going to hear an endless string of politicians bemoaning the plight of the poor in America. So, you need to know that under our government's definition of "poor" you can have a $5 million net worth, a $300,000 home and a new $90,000 Mercedes, all completely paid for. You can also have a maid, cook, and valet, and $1 million in your checking account, and you can still be officially defined by our government as "living in poverty." Now there's something you haven't seen on the evening news.

How does the government pull this one off? Very simple, really. To determine whether or not some poor soul is "living in poverty," the government measures one thing -- just one thing. Income. It doesn't matter one bit how much you have, how much you own, how many cars you drive or how big they are, whether or not your pool is heated, whether you winter in Aspen and spend the summers in the Bahamas, or how much is in your savings account. It only matters how much income you claim in that particular year. This means that if you take a one-year leave of absence from your high-paying job and decide to live off the money in your savings and checking accounts while you write the next great American novel, the government says you are 'living in poverty."

This isn't exactly what you had in mind when you heard these gloomy statistics, is it?

Do you need more convincing? Try this. The government's own statistics show that people who are said to be "living in poverty" spend more than $1.50 for each dollar of income they claim. Something is a bit fishy here. just remember all this the next time Peter Jennings puffs up and tells you about some hideous new poverty statistics.

And please remember this: The average person in this country described as "poor" has a higher standard of living than the average European. Not the average "poor" European, the average European.

Why has the government concocted this phony poverty scam? Because the government needs an excuse to grow and to expand its social welfare programs, which translates into an expansion of its power. If the government can convince you, in all your compassion,that the number of "poor" is increasing, it will have all the excuse it needs to sway an electorate suffering from the advanced stages of Obsessive-Compulsive Compassion Disorder.

Well, it looks like I'm about to be given the hook. The faculty looks a little angry. I'll bet they've already changed their minds about that honorary degree I was going to get.That's OK, though. I still have my Ph.D. in Insensitivity from the Neal Boortz Institute for Insensitivity Training. I learned that, in short, sensitivity sucks. It's a trap. Think about it - the truth knows no sensitivity. Life can be insensitive. Wallow too much in sensitivity and you'll be unable to deal with life, or the truth. So, get over it.

Now, before the dean has me shackled and hauled off, I have a few random thoughts.

You need to register to vote, unless you are on welfare. If you are living off the efforts of others, please do us the favor of sitting down and shutting up until you are on your own again. To the welfare class I say that we're taking care of you we would appreciate if if you would just stay out of our way so we can get the job done.

When you do vote, your votes for the House and the Senate are more important than your vote for president. The House controls the purse strings, so concentrate your awareness there.

Liars cannot be trusted, even when the liar is the president of the United States. If someone can't deal honestly with you, send them packing.

Don't bow to the temptation to use the government as an instrument of plunder. If it is wrong for you to take money from someone else who earned it -- to take their money by force for your own needs -- then it is certainly just as wrong for you to demand that the government step forward and do this dirty work for you.

Don't look in other people's pockets. You have no business there. What they earn is theirs. What your earn is yours. Keep it that way. Nobody owes you anything, except to respect your privacy and your rights, and leave you the hell alone.

Speaking of earning, the revered 40-hour workweek is for losers. Forty hours should be considered the minimum, not the maximum. You don't see highly successful people clocking out of the office every afternoon at five. The losers are the ones caught up in that afternoon rush hour. The winners drive home in the dark.

Free speech is meant to protect unpopular speech. Popular speech, by definition, needs no protection.

Finally (and aren't you glad to hear that word), as Og Mandino wrote,

1. Proclaim your rarity. Each of you is a rare and unique human being.

2. Use wisely your power of choice.

3. Go the extra mile ... drive home in the dark.

Oh, and put off buying a television set as long as you can.

Now, if you have any idea at all what's good for you, you will get the hell out of here and never come back.

Indeed these are the days when the word "rights" has a confusing definition. When the hell did rights come to mean entitlement to the whole world? Young folks should never forget that with our rights endowed by the Constitution comes responsibilities. They're going to be screwed when 4 years are over and they go into the real world. And I have a tip for anyone who complains about not getting a job after graduating from college. Don't major in philosophy, women's studies, Asian studies, Chicano studies or anything of that sort. Remember, only a few fuddy-duddy graduates can get jobs as professors in those subjects.

Well I'm not for "huge influxes" either which make assimilation more difficult. And I'm definitely against illegal immigration. But the rub in your statement is stuffing all the people you mention into an arbitrary 'one-size-fits-all' category of being "diametrically opposed" to our western way of life. It's simplistic and wrong-headed.

I agree that Islamic immigrants are beholden to a system which is diametrically opposed to our's, but the other asian people you pigeon-hole in with them are for the most part NOT opposed to our way of life and in no way wish to harm us or our way. For the most part they want to assimilate and become American or Canadian etc. Just like your and my ancestors did in the last 200 years.

Some bad apples among the Chinese or Phillipine or whatever community does not mean that ALL or a majority of those people are bad and opposed to us. No. There are PLENTY of bad apples among the Euro-immigrants from whom I am descended as well (pure white, Anglo-Saxon British German). Does that make me responsible for their bad deeds? You paint with big sloppy brush and taint good people with bad deeds they have no connection with or responsiblity for.

Immigrants from India, Pakistan, Iran, and Morocco deserve very close scrutiny as to whether their allegiance is to Islam or their new desired destination.

If I were in charge I would even make them all take a Loyalty Oath to abide by Western Values and if they EVER violate it, deport them in a New York minute, or worse if they cause harm. The Phillipines and Sri Lanka would also need close monitoring for malicious moslems.

And I am not for unfettered immigrant influx either, not because I think 'those people' are dangerous or disloyal, but simply because it makes assimilation more difficult and lengthy. The "Diversity" chant is obnoxious I agree, and it IS used by those leftists who wish to bring down America/Canada/Europe. I focus on the leftists, not the innocent people they're trying to use to further their agenda of division and conflict.

Less that an hour ago Fox did a story on this guy.
The other professors at the school are calling for his being dumped.
They found some other letters that he wrote in the past that were as bad.

Kent State wimped out with "we don't know this is actually his web site".

Makes you feel better that we talk about something one day and the next it's getting coverage on the news. Cool.

The situation you describe with packing houses was in the news about 15-20 years ago if I remember correctly. I don't think it happens much anymore because rules have been tightened since then. If I'm wrong about that please provide a link to the story.

The worst cases happened in Vancouver and YES it was outrageous though nowhere even close to the atrocity of Muslim supremacists beheading innocent Christian schoolgirls on their way to grade school in Indonesia.

But yes the house-packing syndrome was an example of immigrants gaming the system which begged to be gamed since there were basically NO RULES WHATSOEVER about who came into the country or why. It shouldn't suprise anyone that it did happen that way because the Canadian government, such as it is/was, threw open the door to anyone and everyone and --surprise!-- anyone and everyone came running.

An analogy is if a music promotion company publicizes a FREE ROCK CONCERT at such and such a venue, with a popular band, and FREE BEER to boot. All you can drink free beer no less. And a chorus line of Hooters Girls, and Stadium Seating (i.e. first come first served). So they announce the time and place and the gates open at 7pm. No police are hired because this is a feel-good event meant to showcase the generosity of the promoter.

So what happens? Every free-loading Tom, Dick, and Harry shows up hours in advance in the hot summer sun to get the best seats and the free beer before it runs out. The crowd grows and grows outside the gates. Pretty soon it starts to get ugly as trouble-makers start pushing and shoving forward and cutting in line. Fights break out and there is no authority present to intervene. Before long there are thousands of people pushing and shoving and surging forward. Things are getting ugly. The gates strain, buckle, and break against the pressing masses. The crowd surges and the people in front are trampled by those behind. People are screaming, shouting, pleading, crying, to no avail. The situation is suddenly desperate but no one can do anything about it. It is out of any control.

The promoter created this reckless situation thinking they were generously providing a freebie for the community. Instead they created a nightmare with lasting ill-will and broken lives.

This is the kind of chaotic situation that the Canadian government, your leaders, created with their reckless immigration policy years ago. They threw open the door and threw out the rule book.
So not only has there been a chaotic rush to flood in, but there have also been few or no rules to govern the flood. It shouldn't surprise anyone that major problems come with such chaos.

So who is to blame? The poor S.O.B. in China or Vietnam or wherever (x 1,000s) who is living like dirt and sees a golden opportunity to better his life by leaps and bounds in a Land of Plenty? Or the Government of that Land of Plenty which opened the flood gates and made no effort whatsoever to regulate or restrict anyone or anything that wanted to come in?

I'd say your Canadian government is to blame! The sign said OPEN;COME;FREE! So of course the poor S.O.B. is going to come and bring everyone he possibly can with him. That's why I think your anger is somewhat misdirected. Who is responsible for making those reckless Canadian immigration policies? That's where your anger would be more constructively targeted. HOLD THEM RESPONSIBLE AND CHANGE THE POLICIES!

I do know that the policies have been tightened and improved somewhat but there is probably a lot more that could be done. American immigration policy is only marginally better.

The only other thing I would like to say is that I do not accept your view that most immigrants are house-packing, rodent-like, dirty, smelly, dangerous criminals. It is a real disservice to good immigrants to smear ALL immigrants like that.
Unfortunately, in Canada, the lack of ANY control or regulation did invite the kind of abuse which has soiled good immigrants along with the low-lifes which have taken advantage of it. I hate low-lifes as much as anyone and do not wish to import them.

But once again I repeat: There are low-lifes and criminals a-plenty among European descendant Americans and Canadians too. Do they represent you DebV?

There has been a controversy as to whether Associate Professor Julio Pino is the author of the blog in question. I once again contacted the Kent State President’s office, and was told that they were still attempting to ascertain if the blog belongs to Pino. I also contacted Pino’s office in the Kent History Department. When I asked if Pino is the author, I was told they “do not believe that he is.” However, I am still awaiting official confirmation from Kent spokesman Ron Kirksey. Don't forget that this sensitivity training thing can be a two way street.
Remember that FBI agents are Americans who were raised with the same set of values that we all were.
That said, I haven't been to any of these training courses, but it seems to me that a good investigator would find knowing how 'skinless' these people are will serve him/her well when the S**t does hit the fan.
And it will and it hasen't yet.

For instance, college is required to be an FBI agent. Don't you think that some American who heretofore hasn't paid much attention to Islam MIGHT just wonder why he/she has to learn how 'not to offend them'? Don't you think that this question might pique their curioustity to look deeper into what it is all about.
After all, and again I haven't seen these courses, but from our experience, we know they have to be filled with obvious 'taco butter' that any moron can see through.
I guess my point is, we need to keep in mind that this is a place they might come to learn more and that's is what we want them to do. Not be turned off by unreasonable bias toward the agency they are a part of.
I know critizing the government and it's agencies is more popular than praising them, but I still feel that there a good and bad in every group.

YES, THIS is what needs to change and soon. This kind of free-loading and reward for illegality is OUTRAGEOUS. Yes, pharmaceutical fraud is particularly heinous and must be stopped.
