45 internet café bombings in Gaza since December 1

On the grounds that those cafés are "trying to make a whole generation preoccupied with matters other than jihad and worship." An update on this story. "In chaotic Gaza, the Internet is a target," from Bloomberg News:

CAIRO — Soon after a firebomb exploded at 3 a.m. and destroyed four computers in the Al-Shawa Online Internet Cafe in Gaza, owner Alaa al-Shawa clicked onto his e-mail at an undamaged machine.
The first message surprised him: It was from the bombers themselves, explaining that establishments such as his were keeping Muslims away from prayer and providing pornography. That’s why it was hit.
“This just shows how confused these fanatics are,” said Al-Shawa, 27. “Even they use the Internet to circulate their statements, but they think everyone else uses it for porno.”
About 45 Internet outlets have been bombed since Dec. 1, according to figures from Gaza’s Central Police Office. The attacks are occurring against a backdrop of intense infighting between Fatah, the main faction of the Palestine Liberation Organization, and Hamas, the Islamist party and militia that has grown into the Palestinians’ dominant political force. The street clashes have led to general lawlessness.
“Gaza society tends toward conservatism, and some people are suspicious of the Internet, but the attacks on Internet cafes come in the context of general chaos,” said Isam Younis, director of Gaza’s independent Al-Mizan Center for Human Rights. “Simply, there’s an absence of law.”
A group called the Swords of Islamic Righteousness has claimed responsibility for the attacks. In a leaflet distributed at Al-Azhar University last month, it said it attacked Internet cafes “which are trying to make a whole generation preoccupied with matters other than jihad and worship.”
The group also claimed to have blown up the car of someone who played his stereo loudly. And it has firebombed pharmacies it suspects of peddling narcotics and recreational drugs, police say.
The Internet is a means for some 1.4 million residents to break out of the isolation of the Gaza Strip, where there is no functioning airport or seaport and where crossing the borders into Israel or Egypt is subject to tight control.
The bomb placed above the door at Al-Shawa’s store did $4,000 damage. “The cafe is my only source of income,” he said.
He invested $30,000 to start the business in September 2001, he said. “My cafe has a good reputation,” he added. “I have a filter to block out porno.”
Muhammed Shpeir, a 19-year-old psychology student at Azhar University, said he came to the cafe to chat, e-mail friends and do school research. “I’ve never traveled outside Gaza, so this is the only place I can communicate with people far away,” he said. “Morocco, Algeria? It’s a good way to pass time. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with it.”
Shukri Jubri, 15, a high-school student, noted that there are no cinemas or discos. “Except for television, there’s not much amusement,” he said. “Also, I do my homework with Interne t help,” he said.
“The funny thing is, people have Internet at home now,” Al-Shawa said. “So what are the bombers going to do? Attack the houses, too? Believe me, if anyone is watching porno, it’s at home.”

45 bombings at internet cafes?

Apparently these Islamocommunists in being to ignorant to succeed at life can not even accomplish blowing up a building.
How hard can it be in the finite zone of Gaza to not get that done with a bomb of all things.

al Jazeera touts al Qaeda saying America is not winning the war. Well how inept is this in Gaza.

These bombings do not suprise me. They are a reflection of a group that cannot get with the 21st century, period.

Posted by: bigcatgirl13106 [TypeKey Profile Page] at March 4, 2007 8:59 PM

I’m betting this is just another way to build a protection racket. It might do the police some good to target the café’s not hit.

The "moderate" Muslims in Gaza have been challenged. What will they do? Will they hide in their homes? Will they go after the bombers? Will they stand for law and order? (I wish!!)

No one can convince me that there isn't one "moderate" in Gaza who knows one person who is in SIR and where they live and what mosque they operate out of.

And what will Gazans do if SIR does what the proprietor suggests: attack homes where the internet is used? Will they stand up to them or will they blame Israel for denying them access?

Posted by: PMK [TypeKey Profile Page] at March 4, 2007 9:13 PM

The constructive way for Gazan Muslims to respond is to realize how reactionary Islam is, become apostates, then get on the internet and join us here at JW.
Salaam, Gazans! Have you read any books by Robert Spencer lately?

Posted by: jewdog [TypeKey Profile Page] at March 4, 2007 9:17 PM

The Jihadi just opened another wave of a protection racket to finance more terror and at the expense of “moderate Palestinians” boy that Allah works in mysterious ways. Watch for calls from Gaza for the US to increase aid to save them from “radicals”.

". . . trying to make a whole generation preoccupied with matters other than jihad and worship."

I presume studying medicine, engineering, and agriculture take time away from jihad and worship. It is no wonder that nothing of real value has been contributed to humnity by Mohammedans, and nothing will.

Posted by: Pelayo [TypeKey Profile Page] at March 4, 2007 9:32 PM

The group also claimed to have blown up the car of someone who played his stereo loudly.

It just goes to show, even the jihadists aren't all bad.

"On the grounds that those cafés are "trying to make a whole generation preoccupied with matters other than jihad and worship."

Is it any wonder that poverty and ignorance is rampant in the Islamic world?

Bombing internet cafes are just one small part of the equation. Anything that represents access to knowledge other than Islamic dogma has to be supressed or obliterated.

Intelectual and moral darkness are the foundations of any Islamic society. Freedom and knowledge are mortal threats to the whole rotten Islamic world.

This is a very educational story illustrating the self-policing nature of Islam.
The extremists are exerting their lawful authority, even in the midst of chaos.

"Believe me, if anyone is watching porno, it’s at home."

Yes and also jihadi dreams of paradise...

These people really are living double lives.

"I’m betting this is just another way to build a protection racket."

Then you would just as likely lose that bet. Islam is the religion of no-fun-at-all. As with Soviet Russia's fall, the Internet threatens to make truth available thereby opening the minds of Muslim youth. For a religion that is utterly dependent upon robotic subserviance, the Internet is a danger of unparalleled magnitude. Illiteracy and close-mindedness are the steering chains of Islam's slave ship and as such the Internet can only be their nemesis.

Consider this as well, some Islamic clergy hold that even prosperity is undesirable as it makes Muslims comfortable and less willing to give up their lives for jihad. They view any attachment to this material world as going against the grain of Islam's spiritual nature. Such comfort, just as with the Internet, is viewed as diverting the ummah's attention from the required degree of religious observance.

Equally as bad, of course, is democracy. How can man, in his monumental conceit, possibly presume to make laws that govern other men when the inviolable examples of Allah's word and the Prophet's life are there for all to live by?

No prosperity, no Internet, no democracy, no enlightenment. How much more clear do we need it to be that the West forever will be Islam's mortal enemy. Our decadence has absolutely nothing to do with their hatred for us. Far more corrosive to Islam's religious shackles are the daily blessings that we have learned to take so for granted.

"the Swords of Islamic Righteousness".

It is quite laughable how these contrived names pop up all over the world.
1001 different Jihad groups, just like Boy Bands in the music industry, all of them trying to make a name for themselves in the name of Jihad.

I am waiting for the "Swords of the Holy Prefab Sprouts for Allah" to emerge.
Any day I guess. Dumb murderous fools with too much time on their hands.

Kill Men, Women, and Children

"Then I heard the LORD say to the other men, "Follow him through the city and kill everyone whose forehead is not marked. Show no mercy; have no pity! Kill them all – old and young, girls and women and little children. But do not touch anyone with the mark. Begin your task right here at the Temple." So they began by killing the seventy leaders. "Defile the Temple!" the LORD commanded. "Fill its courtyards with the bodies of those you kill! Go!" So they went throughout the city and did as they were told." (Ezekiel 9:5-7 NLT)

"In a leaflet distributed at Al-Azhar University last month, it said it attacked Internet cafes “which are trying to make a whole generation preoccupied with matters other than jihad and worship.”

....here we go again...Muslims afraid of the truth....afraid the youngsters will research the internet and find websites such as JW and others...afraid the youngsters minds will begin to open and their eyes will discover the Muslim clerics have been advocating death and concealing the truth about Islam....afraid that the youngsters will begin to question their own religion , the Peace Religion of Islam...afraid the youngsters will discover history in real time...afraid the youngsters will realize that 90% of all the world wide violence is instigated by Muslims...afraid the youngsters will realized that about 100% of the violence in their neighborhoods are instigated by Muslims....afraid they will read the stories of the icecream vendor being slain by Muslims, the barber being slain by Muslims, the stories of Female Genital Mutilation, the tourist being slain by Muslims, the teachers being slain by Muslims, the doctors being slain by Muslims, the nurses being slain by Muslims, and even other Muslims being slain by Muslims...

....Yes the Muslims are afraid the youngsters may begin to identify just who really is causing all the hate and death occuring in their life and around the world...

....afraid the youngsters will come to know the truth...

...Muslims fear the truth and will kill to keep the truth hidden...

...This is why the internet cafes are blown up, the youngsters will come to know why the whole world is suddenly concerned with Jihad and Islamic worship...and they will know the truth...

I'd like to know how they get into the cafe and blow it up ? Are they carrying a stick of dynamite and then lighting it, maybe a cell-phone with plastic explosives, or they blowing themselves up with it too ? Better check with the doorman, something isn't right for 45 cafe's to be demolished ?

Posted by: Jeff [TypeKey Profile Page] at March 5, 2007 7:12 AM

"I'd like to know how they get into the cafe and blow it up ?"

...just walk in with a backpack (a backpack is common), or a baby buggy, or a brief case packed with any plastic explosive such as c4,semtex, rdx, demex, rowanex, pe4, plastrite, pwm, nitrolit, sprengkorper dm12, pp01,chemex, tvarex4a,knauerit, or sprangdeg m/46, any of which can be equipped with a timer device or a remote control device (usually triggered by a cell phone)...

.....just walk in , drop the package or place it under a table, look around, enjoy your latte, get up and simply walk across the street and make a phone call....

....go home , prepare for the next hit...

Posted by: exsgtbrown [TypeKey Profile Page] at March 5, 2007 8:17 AM

...I forgot to mention....there is no security in the cafes..just as there is no security in virtually all Muslim businesses....

.....In Iraq, where you would like to think there is more awareness of potential bombers, the bombers seemingly strike at will....

.....on of the problems as I see it is that the Muslims accept the violence.....I sure don't see the Muslims masses protesting the Muslim violence...do you?

“This just shows how confused these fanatics are,” said Al-Shawa, 27. “Even they use the Internet to circulate their statements, but they think everyone else uses it for porno.”

islam like any good facisim is a controling system whereby they do not want the people, especially younger people to use the internet for their enjoyment etc, but they themselves are the only ones allowed to use the same modern communications. if you remember, when the US went into Afganistan and uncovered where the arab muslims lived, the so called higher ups, including binnie boy, they had use of tv, computers, satelites, video cameras. like in the communist countries, only the "elites" enjoyed the conforts of WEstern technology. when will the so called arab street, aka illussive " moderate muslim" wake up to the fact that islam controls their every day life. but you see if the young muslims can see the freedom that is lived in the "West", they might start questioning their muftis, asking more questions, and this takes away power from islam. islamist want their young brainwashed in the mosque to go out and kill every non muslim, and those muslims not muslim enough!

Posted by: ZenaWarriorPrincess [TypeKey Profile Page] at March 5, 2007 8:38 AM

We are forgetting a basic tenet of Islam. FATE. Allah wills the cafe bombings and so no (moderate?) muslims stand against it.

Wind blows, grass grows.

Posted by: TheOmegaMan [TypeKey Profile Page] at March 5, 2007 8:55 AM

the omegaman, is this the so called insallaha fatalisim of muslims? the belief that every action is written down by allah from the beginning. so if you are agood muslim everything will go in your favor if you are a bad muslim everything will go against you, but if it doesn't hey, allah knows best.

sooooooo as nonmuslims feel free to lie, cheat, beat up a pious muslims, and when he asks why you did it? just say , "its your fate, Allah wrote it down so it must be done otherwise I would have never done it."

The hypocrisy of Islam and these deluded fools that carry out this rotten jihad behavior never cease to amaze me.
I found the article below several months ago.
These couldn’t be the same “SELF-RIGHTEOUS, HOLIER THAN THOU”, we’re so moral Muslims doing all these perverted sex searches. Unbelievable. While reviewing the statistics…I couldn’t stop laughing. This is really sick! I double-checked the data and found it indeed accurate, within a few points, fluctuating only slightly. Maybe these Internet Café bombers ought to take a good hard look at their fathers, brothers, cousins, sisters and mothers as well as the hypocrite preaching in their local mosque.
You can check the data for yourself at http://www.google.com/trends
Unbelievable.

Pakistan: Muslims Are Sex-Starved Surfers,
With Bestial Interests

The Pakistan Daily Times reports that a Google survey found that mostly Muslim nations seek access to sites of a sexual nature, and Pakistan is top of that list. Of the top 10 countries searching for sex-related sites, six were Muslim, and Pakistan was the leader, followed by Egypt (no 2), Iran (no 4), Morocco (no 5), Saudi Arabia (no 7) and Turkey at no 8. Vietnam was third, India at no 6, Philippines at 9 and Poland at 10. To verify the results, http://www.google.com/trends.

But Western Resistance is not content to let it rest here. If you click on the following links, you can see the data for yourself. In all of the following categories of bestiality, Pakistan was top of the list of Google searches for:
Pig Sex, with Egypt (no 2) and Saudi Arabia (no 3) following.
Donkey Sex, with India (no 2), Iran (no 3) and Saudi Arabia (no 4) following.
Dog Sex, with India (no 2), and Saudi Arabia (no 3)
Cat Sex (!!!),(# 1) Pakistan, Iran (no 2), Egypt (no 3) Saudi Arabia (no 4)
Horse Sex, followed by India (no 2) and Turkey (no 3)
Cow Sex, with Iran (no 2), India (no 3) and Saudi Arabia (no 4) following.
Goat Sex, with India (no 2) and New Zealand (no 3) following
Animal Sex, with Morocco (no 2), India (no 3), Iran (no 4), Egypt (no 5)
Camel Sex, (# 1) Pakistan, (# 2) Australia, (# 6) India, (# 10) Turkey, 10/22/06
monkey sex, (# 1) Pakistan, (# 2) India, 10/22/06
Elephant sex, (# 1) Pakistan, (# 2) India, (# 3) Egypt, 10/22/06

It is truly bizarre that Pakistan should top the search lists for ALL of the above categories. But your intrepid Western Resistance researcher was not prepared to let it rest at that. Surely there is something highly relevant in the above figures.

Bizarrely, though the Pakistani web-surfer wants to see images of Goat Sex, the same nation is not interested in looking for sites on Sheep Sex. In fact, no Muslim countries were interested in sheep, perhaps because they eat lamb. Never play with one's dinners, seems to be the moral here.

But if four-legged animals seem to whet the Muslim surfer's appetite, creatures with only two legs were not interesting. So for Duck Sex, only Western nations are featured, with Norway number one. But for Chicken Sex, the antipodeans seem most interested, with Australia number one, followed by the US and then New Zealand.

Another Muslim nation, Malaysia, was most interested in Fish Sex, but once again, Pakistan was top of the charts for Snake Sex. Before you start guessing, these sites involve women "inserting" these creatures.

On a search for Gay Sex, the Philippines was top of the list, with Saudi Arabia coming in at number two. Forbidden fruits?
The word "ass" has double meanings, as a donkey and as a posterior, and a search for Ass Sex found Saudi Arabia was top, followed by Pakistan (no 2), Egypt (no 3), Iran (no 4), the United Arab Emirates (no 5), Greece (no 6) and Morocco (no 7). Ironically a search for Bottom Sex found the United Kingdom in top place, followed by India (no 2) and the US (no 3).

But Anal Sex was most sought after in Saudi Arabia, followed by Turkey (no 2).

A search on Oral Sex found only one Muslim nation in the top ten, with Turkey coming in at fifth place.

No Muslim nations were interested in Lesbian Sex, Granny Sex or Kinky Sex.

The results of my searches have made me snigger and squeal with laughter, but it is not all amusing. Mohammed the so-called prophet had sex with a nine year old girl, and it seems his followers still want to look for images of Child Sex. For this, the top of the list of searches was headed by Pakistan (no 1), followed by India (no 2), Iran (no 3) and Turkey (no 4).

UPDATE - 17 July. Since this report was written, the Saudis appear to have lost their interest in Anal Sex, and no longer appear in the top ten. The top of the list for sodomy-searchers is now occupied by Turkey. But Saudis still hunt for ass sex and are still number two in their search for gay sex. Maybe they are more interested in rimming, fisting and blowjobs now.

From a posting by ZenaWarriorPrincess

Wasn't this the rationale for increasing immigration from Muslim countries, giving more student visas, etc. Let them see what life is like in the West and they'll realize the lie that is Islam?

It hasn't worked yet. Qutb saw the freedom of the West and went home and became a devout Islamist. Atta and his compatriots weren't the least bit swayed by their experience in America. Second generation British Muslims, born and raised in the freedom of the West, turned to jihad. Showing them what the West is like won't work if you don't first show them that their own belief system is killing them.

You know Son of Stalin your Bible quotation might have more relevance if

1) Christians and Jews were comitting mass slaughters as described above

2) I as a non-Christian/Jew felt threatened by Christians or Jews (which I don't)

3) You didn't adopt the moniker of a mass murderer

To rookie

Well his post did seem rather pointless, and I'll apologize if it turns out I've misjudged his intentions, but I've seen this sort of thing before. It's very common for someone to post a violent Bible passage on anti-Islamic sites as a distraction. It basically amounts to pointing and saying "Look, look! Look at this violent BIBLE passage. How dare you call the Quran violent (or criticize Islam) when all this crap can be found in the Bible (or Torah)"

It's a distraction. It's supposed to make Christians (and a lesser extent Jews) feel guilty so they don't look at Muslims atrocities and look in the Quran to see if they're justified. As a non-religious person I feel no threat from Christians or Jews but the whole "death to America" thing kinda worries me. That's why I'm here and that’s why I'm sick of pointless distractions like this.

Plus the name "Son of Stalin" just rubbed me the wrong way.
