House GOP Protest Muslim Seminar on Hill

Note the outrageous bias of this story by Jim Abrams for Associated Press (thanks to Davida): it repeats CAIR's self-description at face-value, without examining any of the many, many unsavory facts about this organization. They're all just Republican Dirty Tricks, doncha know.

WASHINGTON (AP) -- A House Republican leadership group said Monday that Democrats should retract an offer to let the nation's largest Islamic civil liberties organization use a Capitol conference room for a seminar.

The House Republican Conference referred to the Council on American- Islamic Relations as "terrorist apologists" and called on House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to cancel the forum scheduled for Tuesday.

"Democrats arrange official meeting with pro-Hamas, pro-Hezbollah group in U.S. Capitol," headlined a Conference press release carrying a Washington Times article on the planned meeting.

"It's really disappointing," said CAIR national communications director Ibrahim Hooper, that whenever there's an attack from elective officials "we don't even ask any more which party it is. It should be a concern to ordinary Republicans that the party is being viewed as a reservoir of anti-Muslim hate."

CAIR has 32 offices and chapters nationwide and in Canada and says its mission is "to enhance the understanding of Islam, encourage dialogue, protect civil liberties, empower American Muslims and build coalitions that promote justice and mutual understanding."

Tuesday's seminar takes up global attitudes on Islam-West relations. It's common practice for lawmakers to authorize use of rooms in the Capitol for advocacy group meetings. The CAIR meeting was arranged by Rep. Bill Pascrell, D-N.J., in a room used by the Ways and Means Committee. The Speaker's office said it has no direct say over the room's use. Pascrell did not have an immediate comment.

The Republican Conference also put out past statements by CAIR officials and several Democrats suggesting support of or links to terrorists.

But Hooper noted that the organization had launched public service ads on TV against terrorism and had worked closely with the FBI and other government agencies. CAIR officials joined President Bush in a visit to Islamic centers after the Sept. 11 attacks, he said.

And has had several of its officials convicted on various terrorism-related charges. And refused to condemn Hamas as a terrorist group.

This is a thinly-veiled threat from Ibrahim Hooper:

It should be a concern to ordinary Republicans that the party is being viewed as a reservoir of anti-Muslim hate."

Oh, yeah, Hooper? Now why should Republicans be concerned.

Is it because they might be angering Muslims?

What happens, Hooper, when Muslims get angry?

Tell the truth.

Actually its because AP is infiltrated by Muslims, note the use of prophet as accepted fact in almost all of their , when the correct term should be the Muslim Prophet..., but the even more correct term is that evil cultist Mohammed, oh well

An anti-Jihadist movement ought not be left- or right-wing, yet it is Pelosi and the left who argue against "religious" profiling (though such profiling is essential to combat terror); and it is Pelosi and the left who continue to dance with CAIR, a supremist organization that ought to be shunned and who represents a small percentage of the Americans who call themselves Muslims.

Please, dear reader. Make these issues a litmus test: vote against any candidate who wants to ban profiling of Muslims or who act in a way that bestows legitimacy on CAIR.

Of course, once they have the seminar room for sure, they will want a prayer room. If they get that, they will want two prayer rooms, one for women and one for men.

If they get the prayer rooms, they will ask for special bathrooms, that is, ordinary capitol bathrooms that have been RESERVED for muslims only, for that day. Then halal meals in the capitol dining room. Then a hood over the statue of Moses, and

It never ends. More, more, more.

Islam seeks to dominate. And they know that they can do so gradually, because we are so generous and fair. We give them a slice at a time. After a while we will hand them the loaf AND the knife.

My tax dollars paid for that conference room. If Hooper wants to rent it from me, he can send me
eight million dollars in cash, plus a small cleaning deposit. On second thought, muslims are kind of messy so I want a large cleaning deposit.
Dont tell Nancy Pelosi about this, or she will want a cut of the loot. She heard that Allah says 'loot is lawful'. Lawful loot, a liberal democrats dream.
No wonder muslims and democrats have such a love affair. 'Lawful loot', is the glue that binds them together...Allah is very wise, he knows that liberals are close to being believers, a little loot here, and a little loot there, can cause them to convert. Soon someone will write a book called 'The Speaker wore a Burka'...you have come a long way baby...

Muslims dominating communities

CHRISTIANS in Australia say they are being persecuted by Muslims who have built up such numbers that they dominate entire communities, Christian Democratic Party leader Reverend Fred Nile says.

Mr Nile caused controversy at the weekend by calling for an immediate 10-year moratorium on Islamic immigration.

Today he said Australia should give priority to Christians wanting to flee persecution in Muslim countries.

Mr Nile said there had been been no serious study of the potential effects on Australia of the more than 300,000 Muslims already here.

http://uppompeii1.uppompeii.com/

So it hs started in the West as well. The persecution of Christians in the West itself by Muslim immigrants is the forst step to amke the West dar-ul-Islam.

As usual the idiot Left and their equally idiot allies the liberals, are claiming that all this is racist, and any attempt to limit Muslim presence in Australia is RACISM.

"The Speaker's office said it has no direct say over the room's use."

I wonder if this would be the response if someone booked the Klu Klux Klan into a conference room"

Taypayer money shouldn't be used to provide meeting rooms in the Capitol for any private interest groupes.

It's always been a source of iritation to me that the Congressional Black Caucus useses publicly owned property for it's meetings in the capitol, and, no doubt, spends my money on their other activities, while officially banning Whites from its membership.

Both CAIR and the Caucus are hate organizations, and this only goes to prove, as I've always said, that hatred and bigotry are perfectly respectable in this country. It all depends on whether a bigoted person or organization can deliver a block of votes to a candidate or party.

Evidently CAIR is now being perceived as vote-getters for the Democratic party, so that moves them into the respectable bigots category.

Nothing new!

Advice aiding the Jihad and paralyzing the governmnets ability to adapt to the next round of terrorism. To take Hooper at his word would be like asking the Nazi, Goebells what was the proper perspective for the invasion of Poland prior to WWII.

CAIR OK'd to meet in Capitol

By S.A. Miller

THE WASHINGTON TIMES
March 12, 2007

A House Democrat has arranged for a conference room in the Capitol building to be used tomorrow by the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), a Muslim advocacy group criticized for its persistent refusal to disavow terrorist groups such as Hamas and Hezbollah.

The District-based group also is singled out by other Democratic lawmakers and some law-enforcement officials because of financial ties to terrorists.

Rep. Bill Pascrell Jr., New Jersey Democrat, reserved the basement conference room for CAIR's panel discussion Tuesday titled "Global Attitudes on Islam-West Relations: U.S. Policy Implications."

"We just see it as a simple room request," Pascrell spokesman Caley Gray said. "We did receive a room request and evaluated it and approved it."

He said the forum "opens up an important dialogue about global public opinion concerning the United States."

Still, the event's sponsor raised eyebrows on Capitol Hill, even if all sorts of groups routinely hold receptions and meetings in the Capitol.

"It does happen all the time but usually it is the United Way or some constituent group or Mothers Against Drunk Driving, not a group with supposed ties to terrorism -- in the Capitol no less," a Hill staffer said.

CAIR officials did not return a call seeking comment.

The room -- H-137 -- is controlled by the Ways and Means Committee.

Mr. Pascrell is a committee member and can reserve the room for any guest provided he "vouch it complies with House rules," said committee spokesman Matthew Beck.

CAIR, which is country's largest Islamic civil liberties group with 31 chapters nationwide, has never been charged with terrorism crimes and the organization is known to cooperate with the FBI and the Justice Department.

However, CAIR officials have been charged with -- and some convicted of -- offenses related to the support of terrorism, including CAIR fundraiser Rabih Haddad, founding board member Ghassan Elashi and former CAIR civil rights coordinator Randall Royer.

Haddad was deported to Lebanon in 2003 after being arrested in a raid on an Islamic charity that federal officials said had "provided assistance to Osama bin Laden, the al Qaeda network, and other known terrorist groups." Last year, Elashi was sentenced to six years in prison after being convicted on numerous charges related to schemes to funnel money to the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas. Royer was sentenced to 20 years in prison after pleading guilty in 2004 to conspiring to train terrorists in Virginia.

CAIR also was named as a defendant in a class-action lawsuit relating to the September 11 attacks.

Prominent lawmakers, watchdog organizations and law-enforcement authorities insist CAIR has terrorist ties, despite the group's endorsement by Republican and Democratic leaders, including President Bush and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, California Democrat.

"We know [CAIR] has ties to terrorism," said Sen. Charles E. Schumer, New York Democrat and vice chairman of the party's Senate conference. He also criticized the group for having "intimate links with Hamas."

Late last year, Sen. Barbara Boxer withdrew a "certificate of accomplishment" that the California Democrat had awarded to CAIR official Basim Elkarra, citing concern over the group's relationship with terrorist groups.

CAIR's panel discussion in the Capitol will include Steven Kull, director of the Program on International Policy Attitudes, who will offer analysis of polls on Muslim-West relations conducted in 27 countries and two surveys in Iraq and Iran.

CAIR Executive Director Nihad Awad will comment on his recent participation in an Organization of Islamic Conference meeting on Islam-West dialogue held in Turkey.

I'm really fed up with all this naivete, but it's about what you'd expect from Ninny Nancy Pelosi and the rest of the Democrat Kumbaya crowd. But let's face it, the GOP hasn't been exactly realistic either, though at least Bush doesn't prate on like he used to about "democracy for the Iraqi people".
It's about time we got Robert, Hugh and the apostate crew over at Faith Freedom International to run things. Coup anyone?

Posted by: jewdog [TypeKey Profile Page] at March 12, 2007 7:10 PM

This meeting was arranged by Rep. Bill Pascrell, D-N.J., who comes from a district with a large number of Muslim voters.

He is unlikely to change his mind. He is apparently like a Ken Livingston in London. Pressure should be brought to bear with other Democrat politicians. Find them here;

http://www.conservativeusa.org/mega-cong.htm

They are more likely to take you seriously if you are from their district and able to vote for them and if you don't rant incoherently. Something simple like CAIR is a Saudi funded Islamist appologist organization; or they should follow Barbara Boxer's example and have nothing to do with them; or this could haunt them in future elections as CAIR has been exposed and they should know better.

Posted by: Papa Bear [TypeKey Profile Page] at March 12, 2007 7:32 PM

Yeah isn't this a violation of separation of church and state? Why are religious groups using the US CAPITOL as a meeting place? Can the United Methodists hold a meeting there?

Posted by: kelisw [TypeKey Profile Page] at March 12, 2007 7:35 PM

You're right, Papa Bear, this will haunt them in future elections.
When people voted the Democrats in control of congress, they did not want more naivete, but an alternative approach that would protect us in an effective, yet efficient manner after the perceived waste in Iraq. Stunts like this show that the Democrats are not the answer.

Well it would be a violation of separation of church and state, if there was such a thing in the Constitution. Congress will make no law regarding the establishment of religion or the free exercise of is as close as it gets. Even so, that doesn’t give them the right to meet there. Considering they have booted the boy scouts out of gubment buildings the islamists should not receive any different treatment. WTF is wrong with these demoncrats?
Since they don’t appear to be allowing Christian, Jewish, Wiccan or Atheist groups to meet there I suppose you could make an argument that they are violating the equal protection clause, but don’t quote me I’m no lawyer.

WHY SHOULD AMERICA PROVIDE A COMFORTABLE MEETING PLACE FOR THOSE WHO SEEK TO DESTROY HER?

How about this: We'll let the Muslims have equal access to the blessings of American prosperity and laws as soon as their brethren world-wide stop chanting "Death to America" every week after their satanic worship services.

PASCRELL OFFENDED BY REP. GOODE’S ANTI-MUSLIM REMARKS

URGES VIRGINIA REPRESENTATVIE TO MEET WITH MUSLIM COMMUNITY

PATERSON- U.S. Rep. Bill Pascrell, Jr. (D-NJ-08) today sent the following correspondence to U.S. Rep. Virgil Goode (R-VA-05) expressing his disappointment in ethnically offensive remarks the Congressman wrote about the use of the Koran in U.S. Representative-elect Keith Ellison’s unofficial swearing-in ceremony to the House of Representatives. Pascrell also expressed alarm in Congressman Goode wrongfully equating the issue of immigration with a fear of Muslim integration in our society.

December 20, 2006

The Honorable Virgil H. Goode
1520 Longworth House Office Building
Washington, DC 20515

Dear Congressman Goode:

I was greatly disappointed and in fact startled by your recent constituent letter addressing the issue of Representative-elect Keith Ellison using a Koran for his swearing-in ceremony. The United States Constitution is clear on this issue when its states in Article VI, section 3: "...no religious test shall ever be required as a qualification to any office or public trust under the United States.” Furthermore, as a returning Member of Congress you know that the official swearing-in for new Members of Congress is done without use of any religious text. The use of any text including a Bible, Torah or Koran is done only in a ceremonial event after the Member has already taken an official oath of office. I have had the pleasure to meet Keith Ellison on a number of occasions and it is clear that his integrity and values will make him an outstanding Member of Congress for many years to come. Keith Ellison serves as a great example of Muslim-Americans in our nation and he does not have to answer to you, to me or anyone else in regards to questions about his faith.

Your letter also wrongfully equates the issue of immigration with a fear of Muslim integration in our society. I take your remarks as personally offensive to the large community of Muslim-Americans I represent in the Eighth District of New Jersey. I have learned a great deal from the Muslim community and have made it one of my priorities to educate other Americans about the common misconceptions regarding the peaceful faith of Islam. There are many valid policy questions regarding immigration that should be addressed by Congress, however promoting a fear and disrespect of Muslims is not only wrongheaded, but it is reckless. Muslim-Americans do not threaten our American values and traditions, in fact they only add to them. The State of Virginia has a large vibrant Muslim population and I would hope you would take this opportunity to meet with that community and learn to dispel misconceptions instead of promoting them.

Please accept my comments in good faith. Together I know we are committed to fighting extremism. Virgil, I trust that our “fight” will not be confused or misdirected to discriminate against any race, religion or ethnicity.

Sincerely,

Bill Pascrell, Jr.
Member of Congress

By all means allow the slime from CAIR to use this facility to plot sedition against America; let them laugh some more at the pathetic naivete of our ignorant leaders. Let us empower them further, just as the inept, unctuous bureaucrats at DHS did by giving them a tour of airport security. Let's help these terrorist advocates file more lawsuits against innocent Americans and plot the overthrow of the Constitution. I just cannot believe the utter ineptitude and stupidity of the news media and Congress.

Allowing CAIR to use this facility will imply that it is a mainstream, American organization with a pro-American agenda, when it is in fact a den of spies, traitors, and terrorist supporters. The airlines have never recovered from 9-11 and now some degenerate muslim pigs will be made a little wealthier, and CAIR will have another big victory against islamophobia to crow about, so let's do everything possible to legitimize these reprehensible thugs; that's is their goal, to exert more power and influence over American government. Muslims make me sick and the idiots in Congress who can't be bothered to read CAIR's dossier and learn the agenda of these insidious enemies of America are guilty of gross negligence.
