Tired of killing, too late
He has also confessed to the Bali bombing, which makes me wonder if he isn't displaying a bit of jihadi braggadocio.
By Lolita C. Baldor for Associated Press:
WASHINGTON - Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the suspected mastermind of the Sept. 11 attacks, confessed to that attack and a string of others during a military hearing at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, according to a transcript released Wednesday by the Pentagon."I was responsible for the 9/11 operation from A to Z," Mohammed said in a statement that was read during the session, which was held last Saturday.
Mohammed claimed responsibility for planning, financing, and training others for bombings ranging from the 1993 attack at the World Trade Center to the attempt by would-be shoe bomber Richard Reid to blow up a trans-Atlantic flight with explosives hidden in his shoes.
In all, Mohammed said he was responsible for planning 28 individual attacks, including many that were never executed. The comments were included in a 26-page transcript released by the Pentagon, which blacked out some of his remarks.
Confessions can be made before or after any interrogation, or by appointment. "9/11 architect admits Bali bombing," from NEWS.com.au:
SENIOR al-Qaeda figure Khalid Sheikh Mohammed has confessed to planning the September 11 and Bali bombing attacks and a multitude of other terrorist strikes - but he has claimed he does not like killing people and feels sorry for children who have died in his attacks. His admissions came in a closed-door hearing at the Guantanamo Bay, according to a transcript released today....
He also claimed responsibility for a host of other terrorist attacks and plots from the 1993 attack on the World Trade Centre to the Bali nightclub bombings in 2002. Those attacks killed 202 people, including 88 Australians.
Here's a transcript.

This is the one bit of information coming out of Gitmo that I find completely valueless. People who don't like America will say the confession was coerced. People who like America already know he's the guy.

This was one productive Moslem. He did what was called for, and did it well.

The proximate cause of all that mass murder and mayhem, he may (or may not) be. But the ultimate cause is Islam.

Exactly what I was thinking. I don't know if I buy into all of his confessions.

There you have it. Now just grab UbL and the "great war on terror" will be over. Everything will be back to normal (just as the multi-culturalist and "new-world-order-no-borders" advocates promise), islam will be the "religion of peace" again, unchecked muslim immigration to all locations in the West can resume full speed (oh, that's right - it was only temporarily halted right after September 11th) to continue the muslims' inner-jihad 21st century version.

What he said.
Either that or he has a rather bloated sense of his own self-worth. Or both.

Whew, what a relief!
I was worried for a while that the worldwide Islamic jihad was directly related to Islam being a hateful and violent ideology.
It is now clear that the problem concerns a small minority of extremists directly connected with Al Qaeda and, it now appears, most of the world's Islamic terrorist attacks can probably be traced directly to one man - Khalid Sheikh Mohammed.
We can all now breathe freely.
Peace in our time.

Also confesses to master minding the killing of Nicole Simpson and Ron Goldman. He further confesses he might be the father of Anna-Nicoles child, while he was on furlough from Gitmo last year and spent a week at the Paradise Hotel in Nassau.

Or he maybe pleading guilty for all other terrorist planning
1. For he wants to be known as one big Jihadi martyr to the ummah
2. Take the blame and thus absolve other terrorists that are free and continue to be a danger, as well as absolve the wider Islamic community.

I think KSM is "confessing" to every jihad attack worldwide forever to give a big gift to Jema'a al Islamiyah in Indonesia, Al Qaeda, Salafist groups in Yemen, etc.
If he confesses to them all, then apparently we are supposed to stop investigating the people really behind the Bali bombing, Sheikh Jassin of JI, who was released already.
This is pure BS. He may have done 9/11, but he didn't do it alone, he didn't do it without OBL and AZ.
So I think it's bragadoccia and an attempt to create a "legacy", but I also think it is a jihadist tactic. He knows he's dead. So what does he have to lose if he tries to make one last stab of giving the Islamists a little present (if he can)?

Next please.

This ugly Mohammad also said: "With my blessed right hand, I cut off the head of the Jew Daniel Pearl."
and I say:
I would love to use my blessed right hand to cut off the fat head of that Muslim pig. I'd cash in my life savings for the privilege.
BTW, how come I've become such an Islamophobe? Is it something in my coffee?

Perhaps in confessing to everything including the Bali bombings He's falling on a hand grenade to save the rest of the jihadi planners in the bunker.
Let's not think it all ends with his end.

I don't know why it should be considered news that Khalid Sheik Muhammed was the mastermind of the 911 attacks. That's been public knowledge since 2002.
KSM himself admitted to being the architect of the 911 plot in an al Jazeera documentary broadcast over 4 years ago. The film, "The Road to 911", was produced by al Jazeera London bureau chief, Yosri Fouda interviews KSM and another top al Qaeda figure, Ramzi bin al Shib. Both freely discussed their roles in the 911 attacks. This was several months before KSM was captured and put in US custody.
Here is a link to an interview with Fouda where he discusses the documentary and his meeting with KSM:

However, when I see this picture I think of some old lounge-lizard who wishes disco would come back.
