Most Saudi terror suspects disown deviant thoughts

The Wahhabi rulers of Saudi Arabia say these jihadists have renounced their "deviant thoughts" and will be released. Feel reassured?

By Mariam Al Hakeem for GulfNews, with thanks to Sr. Soph:

Riyadh: Saudi Arabia said that 90 per cent of those who have been detained for holding "deviant thoughts" have reformed and announced their repentance.

Shaikh Saleh Bin Ganim Al Sadlan, member of the interior ministry ad hoc committee assigned to give counselling to extremist detainees, said that Saudi Arabia is planning to allow the detainees to return back to their studies or work after being set free.

At the end of 2005, Saudi Arabia announced it had released nearly 400 detainees held for security reasons after providing them with intense counselling and making sure they were free of deviant thoughts.

But authorities emphasised that they would not set free those militants arrested for taking part in terrorist attacks across the country.

Just those who had waged jihad outside the Kingdom. Feel reassured yet?

I'll bet a barrel of oil that the deviant thoughts are those they held against the al-Saud monarachy.

Fighting in the cause of Allah and killing infidels is but a small matter and is not deviant.
Two goats wouldn't butt heads together on it.

dar al-Saud needs to go the way of most absolute monarch dynasties in history.

Dar al-Saud is a dynasty that needs to dienasty, but these fellows are now cured of such deviant thoughts.

This happens every time an islamic country captures some of these slime. They usually "escape" though.

Change of habit? Change of heart? So all I have to do is promise not to think this or that and I’m free? Allahu ackbar! I’m going to Disneyland!

A close friend of mine, when asked whether he struggled with a certain vice of his, responded, “I don’t struggle with it at all. I just do it!”

As a fireman in the Navy, I had emergency responses drilled into me through repetition. If the GQ alarm sounded, I would jump out of my rack (from a deep sleep) and be properly dressed and awaiting command orders in another part of the ship within seconds. No ‘thought’ was needed.

Suffice it to say that the jihadi will not ‘think’ twice or even once before doing what one is trained to do. Just waiting for the cue!

The "deviant thoughts" are those which would cause them to think that the Al-Saud are, in their vast theft of the national wealth, "Infidels" or allied to "Infidels" simply because there are, necessarily, so many non-Muslim wage-slaves who find and produce the oil, who staff the hospitals (doctors, nurses, orderlies, every step of the way), who teach in what pass for "institutions of higher learning," who fix everything -- Saudis do nothing, for it is a nation of entitlement, where a "job" for a Saudi, if one is created, consists of showing up for 2-3 hours, reading the paper or looking up stocks and girls on the Internet, and then going home with the satisfaction of having performed just what the Infidels do, "work" at a "job."

"Deviant thoughts" -- killing Al-Saud family members, or their courtiers, or killing others in order to upset the kingdom's equilibrium.

"Good thoughts" -- killing non-Muslims anywhere outside of Saudi Arabia.

End those "deviant thoughts." Encourage those "good thoughts."

That's it.

...Saudi Arabia is planning to allow the detainees to return back to their studies...

I wonder if this means we'll be seeing these "students" in the US soon on those wonderful visas. No doubt they will be studying better ways to kill infidels and not be caught.

ad hoc committee assigned to give counselling to extremist detainees

Counselling them in target selection, presumably. I would guess the "deviant thoughts" were that the wahabbis are infidels, killing regular infidels, however, is completely non-deviant.

No. I would feel reassured if they were dead.
I would feel even more reassured if there buddies were dead as well.

Counselling?
Sounds likes he is mollycoddling them.
It should be indoctrination.

>> to extremist detainees, said that Saudi Arabia is planning to allow the detainees to return back to their studies...

What studies?
How to be an effective terrorist?
Hadith made easy for the wold be terrorist?

>> or work after being set free.

It is the wrong option.
It will backfire on Saudi Arabia
Death or permanent incarceration is the right thing.

I think the Saudis need to upgrade their interior minister. He is too soft.

"At the end of 2005, Saudi Arabia announced it had released nearly 400 detainees held for security reasons after providing them with intense counselling and making sure they were free of deviant thoughts."

Intense counselling? Did it involve some tying up? Beatings? Just a little threat to life and limb?

Surely not. No. Look here:

"A number of prominent scholars, intellectuals, social scientists and psychiatrists are taking part in the programme which offers counselling to the arrested people and providing them with the right information concerning wrong beliefs."

Yes. And quite a few of those found in Saudi prisons, no doubt.

Ok, I admit this might be off topic, but I am really curious to know what the moslem men do about facing mecca when the go the the bathroom. If you are taking a leak, then you will be facing one way, but if you take a dump you face another.

Does this mean that they have two seperate toilets facing different directions? OR worse, do moslem men go to the bathroom like women and only sit on the bowl?

If I understand correctly, peeing in the direction of the meteorite is A-OK, its only the other one that causes mortal offense (can a rock be offended by a dump?).

NY prisons sued over Muslim head covering ban
By ASSOCIATED PRESS

The US Department of Justice's civil rights division filed a religious discrimination lawsuit against the New York Department of Correctional Services alleging the city's prisons discriminated against Muslim officers by barring them from wearing visible symbols of their faith on the job.

The suit was filed Thursday in Manhattan on behalf of Abdus Samad N. Haqq, a prison guard from Brooklyn who was ordered in 2005 to stop wearing a kufi - a knitted skullcap that carries religious significance for many Muslim men - while at work.

"Americans are not required to abandon their religious beliefs when they report for work," said Assistant Attorney General Wan J. Kim in a statement announcing the lawsuit.

They have already thought of that. The toilets are built sideways, so you pee or dump 90 degrees from mecca. There was a complaint in the UK that prison toilets were not built the right direction.

Here's a chat with a Saudi Doctor who circumcise white girls
Doctor Muzaffar-I have a medical practice in Jizan, Saudi Arabia which I practice female circumcision. I am a Egyptian and still spend much time there, but spend much time at my clinic in the Kingdom. My husband travels with me. Female circumcision is well established in Egypt and is now spreading in the Kingdom from the Tihama region of the Arabian peninsula. The locals have practiced in for many years and now the Saudi religious police have encouraged its spread in the Kingdom.
RZ-Why did you pick there to set up your practice if female Circumcision is easily available.
Doctor Muzaffar- I was recruited in my homeland, Egypt by the religious police as circumcising the young may be done by midwives, there was few trained female Doctors in the kingdom that Had experience in circumcising grown women.
RZ- Religious police?
Doctor Muzaffar- Yes , this is the new more tolerant religious police, where in the past Prostitution or Adultery was punishable by stoning , now sometimes they simply have the accused circumcised and , or infibulated. They bring them to my clinic and they are my guest for a day or two. I also Train nurses for the religious police to preform female circumcision. after a training period they are moved to female hospitals in other Kingdom cities. Clitoridectomy is not not a hard thing to learn for the average nurse. The religious police feel that female circumcision has many positive benefits. It calms women, ends lesbian activities, discourages adultery and prostitution. It allows women to concentrate on being good wives and mothers.
RZ- I thought that female circumcision was limited in Saudi Arabia.
Doctor Muzaffar-that was true for the most part in the past, it has always been present along the red sea and the areas that boarder Yemen. In the last few years it has grown allot spreading throughout the Kingdom. The west would have no way of knowing as women and women's issues are kept private. And the foreign women that are guest in the harems are kept out of sight. With modern security There is little chance that once they are here that anyone will hear from them again. Even if they managed to escape the harem it would be all but impossible for them to escape Saudi Arabia. The religious police would return them to their masters.Currently I would say that at least 25% of all women in Saudi Arabia are circumcised. It is growing popularity and with the growing number of trained midwives within a generation all women who have bore a child should have had the tip of their clitoris removed.
RZ- What is your clinic like?
Doctor Muzaffar-State of the art. a all female staff as this is women's business. My husband handles the dealings with the authorities and various male clients but he is not allowed into the secure treatment wing. The facility has no windows but is air conditioned which is a benefit as it is very hot and humid here in Jizan. For security there is only one entrance , a electric garage door. When a patient arrives the auto or van enters the garage door after putting a security code into electronic box.The inter door wont open till the outer one closes. Much of my 12 person female staff lives on site as well as all nurse trainees. There are food preparation facilities as well as 36 patient rooms and three treatment rooms.everything we need under one roof.
RZ- What are the patient rooms like?
Doctor Muzaffar- Very spartan, Small shower and toilet area, a bed. no window, no door knob on inside, remember some of our guest are wards of the Religious police. They would be hard to deal with if we lost one. each room has a video monitor that feeds to a central control center for monitoring.
RZ- What are the the treatment rooms like?
Doctor Muzaffar- Tiled in white floors, ceilings, walls. Kept spotlessly clean. Very bright and well lit. there is various medical equipment and supplies. And of course the treatment table.
RZ- What are the the treatment tables like?
Doctor Muzaffar- Again state of the art. It is very important that the patient not move during the operation and my table sees to that. It has a stainless steel frame and black leather padding. Unactivated it looks more like a lounge chair. The patient is led into the treatment room in a white gown and ask to sit .Once seated my assistance's secures their charge to the treatment chair. Strapes above and below the knee as well as across the instep of each foot. Wide leather straps across the belly above and below the breast. Another wide quite tight strap across the lower belly. The the wrist are placed in leather cuffs back against the chair even with the shoulders. Then the chair tips back and the legs spread into the classical Gyno chair. There are metal curves under the knees. The patient finds herself on her back Head down , legs spread. The activation of the chair tightens all the straps very securely. She will find she is totally immobilized. Once secured we shave the pubic hair, the area is cleaned with soap, then we treat the entire area with an antiseptic. At this point she is ready for me to circumcise her. If allowed by the authorities I take a needle and deaden the nerves around and leading to the clitoris. I start giving injections in a radial configuration. The last I give an injection under the clitoris into the main nerve. In most cases they will tense and grown a little at this point as the nerve is deaden.
RZ- What about a gag?
Doctor Muzaffar- No I don't see that as needed as we pay little attention to anything the patient says. If she is being cut on orders of the Religious police then one of my nurses places a rubber tongue depressant into the patients mouth and holds it into place. also a strap across the forehead is put into place and tightened . This gives her something to bite on as she is cut.The religious police dint allow us to use pain killers The patients from other sources I give injections into the local areas and they feel nothing. Most go to the table without much fuss , but some we have to drag kicking and screaming.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Doctor Muzaffar- Some young brides are brought in and we simply clip the tip of their clitoris off. Its pretty minor but very effective at controlling female behavior. Also I have a growing demand from the estates of the ruling class. In the Kingdom men can have up to four wives and many concubines. Some of the princes have many more than four wives. We have many very rich men and they have palaces where their women are kept out of site.It has become quite fashionable for a wealthy man to have his concubines circumcised. This also makes the religious leaders happy in knowing that many of these concubines are circumcised and their sexuality is controlled. Many religious leaders fell that it is a woman's place to provide pleasure to the male and bear children without receiving pleasure themselves, especially if they are infidel women.
RZ- Infidel women?
Doctor Muzaffar-Yes from many places, like the Balkins, Russia, Greece, France, Ireland and much of Europe. a few from America and other nations. Scandinavia is very popular. The young , the pretty , the stupid, Many college girls. They are easy to acquire. Some of the rich will go on hunting trips as they are called. They simply seduce a bird that they fancy, fly her to the Kingdom where she simply disappears into a harem to never be heard from again. Many of the older Princes will hire a recruiter to find him the right candidate.Once here she is turned over to
the old man to do with as he pleases. Several of the recruiters bring the candidates here for circumcision to calm them down before going onto their final destination. It is surprising how few western women know what female circumcision is. As a general rule when they arrive here they have no idea what we plan to do to them. you can imagine their surprise when they discover that we have removed their clitoris.
RZ- Are these women not looked for? What about their governments?
Doctor Muzaffar- Their governments dint care, they only want oil, a few of their women ending up in harems, they could care less. The women will never be heard from again. They are kept locked away where they please their master and bear his children. The circumcision calms them and prevents them from masturbating and dreaming of their past life and old boyfriends.
RZ- tell me about the circumcision procedure?
Doctor Muzaffar- Its about the clitoris. There are variation but the removal of the clitoris is central. The majority of circumcisions are simply snipping it off. This is most effective in controlling female behavior. 90% of the pleasure nerves are in the very tip. By just snipping off the tip will have the desired effect on female behavior. Masturbation will no longer be an option, they will find it just doesn't work anymore and will loose interest in trying to climax through masturbation. I have been training a steady stream of midwives who duties in the Kingdom outside of assisting with births is to see that no new mother leaves the maternity ward with her clitoris. This is a good time to circumcise women. with all the trauma from the birth the snipping the tip of the clitoris is hardly noticed, many women wont even notice its gone till the return to regular relations with their husbands. This makes her a better mother and wife. The religious police insist on clitoridectomy, .excision of the labia minora, incision of the labia majora and resewing it, leaving only a tiny hole to urinate out of. Also the clitoridectomy is far more in depth than just snipping the tip , the entire root is cut out. This is done to prostitutes and women taken in adultery.
I first take a hand clamp tool and grasp the clitoris and pull it out from the body and I make a oval incision around the base of the clitoris. With a scalpel I cut the surrounding flesh till the clitoris is held by the root. Below the clitoris head the main clitoris nerve I pull on the clitoris as hard as possible, pulling it by the attached nerve as far from the body as possible. and make a clean cut as deep as possible. There is allot of the clitoris that is removed that is not in the simple procedure. I then excision the labia minora followed by the incision of the labia majora and then I sew the mouth of the Vagina closed connecting the raw edges. There is a small hole to urinate out and pass menstrual blood. Not being able to use pain killers as defined by the religious police the woman are screaming and struggling but my special chair doesn't allow any movement. I always use pain killers if allowed by law.
My signature treatment is called the harem cut. Many of the western women that are bound for harems I do a full deep circumcision follow es by a modified infibulation. Not the sealing of the mouth of the vagina but once the clitoris is removed I tighten the top of the vagina with a couple of stitches after a incision at the top of the labia majora. My clients like this effect as it makes it tighter for her master.unless requested so I don't excision the labia minora. I don't think it matters as there isn't enough nerves to allow masturbation or climax during sex, though the labia minora may add to the pleasure of the male. the male seem to like my harem cut over the snip or the infibulation. Of course I can do lots of variations

"The US Department of Justice's civil rights division filed a religious discrimination lawsuit against the New York Department of Correctional Services alleging the city's prisons discriminated against Muslim officers by barring them from wearing visible symbols of their faith on the job.

The suit was filed Thursday in Manhattan on behalf of Abdus Samad N. Haqq, a prison guard from Brooklyn who was ordered in 2005 to stop wearing a kufi - a knitted skullcap that carries religious significance for many Muslim men - while at work.

'Americans are not required to abandon their religious beliefs when they report for work,' said Assistant Attorney General Wan J. Kim in a statement announcing the lawsuit."
-- from a posting above

The right to "free exercise" of religion is not absolute. But the first question might be the one that the Supreme Court has never dared to discuss: what constitutes a "religion" for First Amendment purposes. Islam is a belief-system with many followers (far more than David Koresh had, or that Koolaid man who had so many of his truest believers killed in their Guyana redoubt. Does that mean it is not a "cult"? Does it exhibit any of the features of a "cult"? For example, does a belief-system that punishes by death those who wish to leave it -- in other words, that does not itself allow for the free exercise of religion, or of conscience, either by those who through no fault of their own were born into it, or who, perhaps out of a colossal misundertanding or Serial Search for Meaning Bus that happened to make a stop at "Islam" where someone hastily got off, then found he (or she) was not allowed to get back on that bus, the next time it happened to be passing through.

And can a belief-system that is not merely about the worship of some deity, single or plural, but also contains an entire and comprehensive system, not only for the Regulation of Life, and for the Explanation of the Universe (those may be unpleasant, but they are not necessarily direct threats, to Unbelievers), but that contains a geopolitical system, which is based on the perceived and inculcated division of the world between Believers and Infidels (that is, all non-Muslims), between the lands controlled by the former, Dar al-Islam, and the lands still controlled by the Infidels, Dar al-Harb (the House of War -- war made necessary by the failure of those Infidels to allow the "Peace" of Islam to descend, as it ultimately must, over all the world), and that mandates as a duty participation in the Jihad (struggle) to remove all obstacles everywhere, put up by Infidels, to the natural spread of Islam until everywhere Islam dominates, and Muslims rule, everywhere. Muhammad said it for all time: "Islam is to dominate, and is not to be dominated."

When the First Amendment became essentially part of the Constitution, along with the rest of what is often referred to as the Bill of Rights, back in 1791, the Framers never contemplated Islam as a presence in this country. It made no sense. Muslims could not themselves endure living under the rule of non-Muslims, and the very idea that agents or adherents of Islam, ever since its birth the historic enemy of Western Christendom, and in its own essence a belief-system unalterably opposed to the essence of Western Civilization, with its emphasis on the individual, and the rights of that individual, and on mental freedom, and free artistic expresion, and on so much else that is inimical to Islam, few could have imagined Muslims in this country, attempting to undermine, as they do everywhere in what they call the Bilad al-kufr, the Land of Unbelief or Lands of the Infidels, the legal and political and moral foundations and institutions that emobdy them.

The generally accepted view of Islam -- the one that not only was to be found in the established churches, but in the newer ones, and not only in the churches but in the views of the deists and freethinkers -- by Spinoza, Hume, John Wesley, as later by Mill, and Tocqueville, was best articulated by that great statesman, the learned man, John Quincy Adams (Google "John Quincy Adams" and "Islam" for his analysis). What strikes one is that there was a keen understanding of Islam in the earlist days of the American Republic, but since the 1920s, more or less, there has been a steady falling off, possibly as the result of a decline in the level of intelligence in our political class, and the abdication of responsibility by a cultural elite that has itself now been forcibly disbanded by the levelling influences that, for some reason, do noting about growing banana-republic levels of economic inequality that stagger and dismay, but channel all the levelling impulses into the area where they should never have a place -- in the fields of education, art, culture. The current crew of "taking-a-leadership-role" leaders exhibit, as Bush with his shallow and ignorant messianism (bringing "freedom" to "ordinary moms and dads" all over the Middle East), with the thermostat finally turned down from hot, to temperature levels a little more acceptably laodicean, in Tarbaby Iraq.

But even if we are forced for American Constitutional purposes to accept the notion that the belief-system of Islam is a "religion," even as we never let up in challenging the basis for that characterization, we need not conclude that the Free Exercise clause is absolute and that it can permit Muslims to refuse to abide by all sorts of rules that are deemed necessary.

A series of cases has upheld as constitutional various infringements on the Free Exercise of religion. In Goldman v. Weinberger, for example, the ban in the Air Force on pilots wearing certain headgear -- in this case, a yarmulke or kippah -- was upheld, for the Air Force rule was demonstrated to make sense in furtherance of an important state interest. In Employment Division v. Smith, the claim that the smoking of peyote was part of a religious ritual, and could not be subject to the law, was denied because the law itself met a new test -- the "rule of general applicability."

There have been more recent statutes, passed by those who wish to limit the scopoe of what they see as government infringement on Free Exercise, including the Religious Freedom Restoration Act, and something known as RLUIPA, the "Religious Land Use and Institutionalized Persons Act" -- but here I don't have the time to investigate, and find out the current tests employed. But surely, in prisons, the state has a large claim to be able to regulate, for security reasons, all kinds of things.

But the statement by Wan J. Kim above -- that "Americans are not required to abandon their religious beliefs when they report to work" -- is a false statement of the case. No guard is being required to "abandon" his beliefs. Unlike in Islam, in this country there really is "no compulsion in religion." But when the Air Force says that a kippah may not be worn, or for that matter a Sikh turban, it is not requiriing Jewish or Sikh pilots to "abandon their religious beliefs." We know perfectly well that beliefs can be maintained, but that certain practices -- for example, any religion that had sacrifice of children, or vestal virgins deliberately divested, or any variant on the burnt-offering problem, would not be permitted to continue such practices, even though they would not, in being forced to end such practices, been forced to "abandon their religious beliefs."

The remark by Wan Kim was silly, and dangerous. There are places, above all others, where the state can justify its putting limits, not on beliefs, but on certain practices including outward and visible signs of one's adherence to this or that belief-system: in the military and in prisons, certainly.

The obvious self-identification of a guard as a Muslim might intimidate or worry non-Muslim prisoners. Similarly, it might be a signal to Muslim prisoners that they may be favored by this fellow member of the umma al-islamiyya, who has been taught that his loyalty is owed entirely to fellow members of that umma, and not to the Infidel nation-state. But American prisons cannot have guards who signal such loyalties to the prisoners. Furthermore, in prisons there is a well-financed and carefully targetted campaign of Da'wa. The evidence for this is overwhelming: this Da'wa is an insetrument of Jihad. Such campaigns are taking place in prisons all over North America and Western Europe. There is a special effort made to recruit those deemed, as members of racial or certain ethnic minorities, particularly susceptible to the idea of Islam as the current vehicle of protest, or of alienation, or of hatred, of the "System."

If guards were allowed to parade their adherence to Islam it is possible that some of the prisoners, considering whether to convert to Islam, might think that would be a way to please those guards, or to win favors that they are unlikely to win from non-Muslim guards, who show no special loyalty to "Christian" or other prisoners, but are just doing their job. It is this aspect that is perhaps most worrisome: the outward display by guards of their belonging to the umma may support those campaigns of Da'wa in prisons --and this must not be permitted.

Deviant thoughts? DEVIANT: A person whose behavior deviates from what is acceptable especially in sexual behavior.

So the Saudi's arrested terrorists for having perverted sexual thoughts or is it now that murder, anarchy, terrorism are a sexual expression of Islam?

Actually from reading Muhammed that is exactly what is in the Koran and the explanations are deviant thoughts as everything is related to sex.

Amazing Freudian slip by the Saudi government.

I doubt though they renounced Islam, just the sexual bombing of Saudi Arabia as the sexual bombing of Jews and Americans is probably still non deviant thought.

TheOmegaMan quoted an AP story

"Americans are not required to abandon their religious beliefs when they report for work," said Assistant Attorney General Wan J. Kim

A Navajo Native American working as a schoolbus driver is probably required to abandon peyote use when they report for work.

Mormons are not allowed to bring multiple wives to the office Christmas party.

A Christian schoolteacher is not allowed to mention "Jesus" or "Christianity" when they are teaching class.

And before Wan Kim decides to guarantee that Muslims can practice all of their religious beliefs, he might want to learn a little bit about what the beliefs of Islam are. I hope the "smite at their necks" bits are not protected religious belief, but these days one can never be sure.

At the end of 2005, Saudi Arabia announced it had released nearly 400 detainees held for security reasons after providing them with intense counselling and making sure they were free of deviant thoughts

l had a good laugh at that statement, its a code for you did not do d good job, so go after the real infidels, and leave the saudi royals alone! yeah the sowdi clerics/governemnt officials will put a blind eye when their own kill non-muslims, but get real pissy when their lowly islamists start taking the down the housse of saud. well when rats run out of food, they turn on their own. those sowdis will be sorry for spreading their hatred around the world, because its coming home to roost!

It seems an oversight on my part to have not checked the authenticity of the transcript I posted above. Considering the quality of the writing of the doctor, it is more likely than not that the transcript is not authentic. Maybe it is based on a real account, who knows, but I did not search for information to support it. I would estimate a lot of the details about the kidnappings and brutal treatments are true: we have more than enough eye-witnesses of the Saudi kingpins strutting around with their many servile women to know it is partially true. Furthermore, we have seen too many Arabs in that place that look too much like Europeans; it would be an interesting experiment to compare DNA. Millions of people have been abducted by them over the last 1400 years in the name of their evil ideology, so we have no reason to believe that they have discontinued this heinous legacy.
