In a sane world, the UN would be expelling Iran from the UN for the Thug-In-Chief's genocidal statements. "U.S. will give visa to Iranian president," from AP:
WASHINGTON - The U.S. will approve Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's request for a visa so he can visit the U.N. as the Security Council moves to impose additional sanctions against his country for its refusal to suspend uranium enrichment.State Department spokesman Sean McCormack said Friday that the United States has approved a U.S. visa for Ahmadinejad previously and will do so again, consistent with its obligations as host country for the United Nations.

Yet another reason to send the UN packing.
Let them set up shop (and upaid parking tickets) somewhere else. Paris, Madrid, Mexico City, Peking, Seoul, Bogota, Kabul, Riyad, Cairo, Baghdad. . . any place but the U.S.
Just think if they pay janitorial wages they can pocket/skim the difference between budgeted NYC wages and say Mexico City wages.
Withdraw from the U.N. now!!

When the USA stupidly let the UN set up shop here, they signed an international agreement to allow any official representative of a UN member country safe passage in and out of the country to visit the UN.
I wonder if that agreement precludes arresting and trying such an offical for kidnapping an embassy full of people.

Well, Robert, we can have the UN, or we can deny visa to international gangsters, but we can't have both. Remember when Rudy Giuliani tried to arrest the founder and champion salesman of Arab terrorism, Yassir Arafat, when he was feted at the UN? This issue was raised then, too. But in fact the vast majority of the people in the room in the General Assembly -- and certainly the bureaucrats and princelings up and down that marble building -- shouldn't get visas, either. And not just because they park so recklessly around here.

The personal security bill for this Enemy of the State should be paid for by Iran or the United Nations.
If neither are willing to foot the bill for Hitler's security, then let him come here without any personal security.
He is personally responsible for the roadside bombs that are wounding and maiming our Armed Forces. Perhaps, we can get our brave soldiers to plant a few for him to return the favor.
Hitler envisions a world without the United States, the United Nations or Israel. It is ludicrous in the extreme that he feels compelled to wag his self-righteous finger at the very powers he seeks to destroy. But, then, what is logical about the lunacy that Mislam inspires?
What Baal-lah wants, Baal-lah gets?

The Urine Nations should be moved. Anywhere in cesspoolia would be quite appropriate. Why should the US have to pay for, and maintain the safety of, some of the worst scum in this world simply because the UN is in the US? There are better things to spend that tax money on.
Like eliminating some of that worst scum in the world, starting with the Iranian organ grinder.

No doubt the Fuhrer Adolf Hitler himself would have gotten a visa to visit the UN had it existed in the early forties. I can remember seeing Soviet Dictator Nikita Kruschev pounding his shoe on the table saying that we will bury you in I believe around 1959, the same year of the famous Kitchen debate between Nikita and then Vice President Nixon.
I would like to see democrats of those days like Adlai Stevenson who confronted are arch foes with comments like " I'm prepared to sit here until all hell freezes over for your anwer"! when it comes to weenies like Ahmadinghad --pronounced ---A-Mad-Nut-job.

"State Department spokesman Sean McCormack said Friday that the United States has approved a U.S. visa for Ahmadinejad previously and will do so again, consistent with its obligations as host country for the United Nations.
I agree, It's our obligation, as the host country, to issue a visa to Ahmadinejad, so why not? Besides, the man is a buffoon and manages to make a fool of himself and his country before the whole world, so why not let him do it?
I suspect that many Iranian diplomats clinch their teeth in embarrassment knowing they'll have to sit through another one of his irrational tirades.
Ahmadinejad's antics remined me of Khruschev banging his shoe on a table during a session of the U.N. General assembly. We know now that The Soviet delegates almost died of embarrassment at his buffoonery, and contributed a great deal to his ouster as leader of the Soviet Union.
In addition, why move the U.N. overseas? It's not going to act any differently somewhere else. At least here our intellegence agencies can keep a closer eye on it's activities.
I say let the screwball speak, and keep the U.N. in the United States.
They both work to our advantage.

"In a sane world," we wouldn't be considering the hiring of jihadists for school bus drivers. I just heard on Fox News Radio (Spencer Hughes show) that law enforcement has been warned (by the FBI) about "members of radical groups" applying for jobs as scholl bus drivers. The message went on to say..."don't worry, there is no specific plan"?!!?
Why would we even think of hiring anyone who could have any relation to islam as school bus drivers?

(From November 2006)
A few thoughts on the reasons behind the inept United Nations we have today:
A United Nations ran by Third World people will produce Third World results. When tyrannies run U.N. human rights committees, they will put human rights standards of tyrannies in place. It is not surprising - it is simply another proof that voting and representation alone don't make something we in the free world would recognize as 'good' or 'just'.
The U.N. Security Council was a good idea until it became compromised by regimes not fully keeping with the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. In fact, all member countries not objectively meeting a standard of that document should have their membership revoked.
Talking about bad behavior without any follow-up or negative consequences doesn't work with children nor does it work with tyrannies and dictators – and it won’t work against Hezbollah in Lebanon.
Do we really stand by the Universal Declaration of Human Rights or not? This is not an abstraction, an intellectual exercise - or a goal to strive for in the distant future. Our future is found in the daily habits and actions of the present. We need to have an accounting of all the members of the U.N. to reconcile who is meeting the standards and who is not. Why should party crashers be allowed to stay?
Electing and promoting inept, Third World people to positions of world authority harms the world. It may help First World people convince themselves of their own tolerance and open-mindedness and would allow these people to wear the deeds on their shirtsleeve like some Politically Correct Badge of Honor, but putting people like Kofi Annan into power positions dilutes the strength and claim to legitimacy for the whole of the U.N. Third World leaders create a Third World U.N. Look at the condition of the nations they come from. Why would we expect anything better when they lead the United Nations?

The man is responsible for the death of Americans. He is our sworn enemy and we still let him come onto our turf, make fun of our people, and god knows what else. A STRONG leader would tell him to go to hell. Then use every chance to send him to paradise. He has killed enough of our people so pay back is bitch. I hate to use language like this but it is a fact of life.
Some may claim irrational tirades make him look foolish but to who? To us it seems irrational but to jihadist and those that get recruits its a huge wind fall. It proves America is weak. A muslim leader who has said he will kill Americans can walk onto American soil and do a dance and the weak inferior Americans can do nothing! It proves the power of Allah is superior to their weak culture and civilization. Thats how they will view it!

In the End it will be said that we ( the US ) brought about our own destruction by our broke kneed PC submissiveness. It is said if one can't stand for something he will fall for anything. I can't help but think the US is on the way to falling. But that's my cynical nature I suppose.

"In a sane world, the UN would be expelling Iran from the UN..."
-- from the comment above
In a sane -- and well-ordered -- world, with government by the well-prepared, those in positions of power in the West would have long ago understood that while the Soviet bloc does not exist, and the Western bloc does not exist, one bloc does exist: the bloc of Islam. While, in the case of Iran's nuclear project, it may be possible to divide that bloc ==that is, to get the Sunni Arab states to mute their opposition to any anti-Iran resolutions, as long as they can continue to push their "we need to disarm Israel in order to disarm Iran" nonsense (the kind of thing that outside the offices ofthe Arab League only someone like Lt. Gen. William Odom (ret'd.)would dare to suggest and allow himself to believe that the obvious deep malevolence of such a suggestion would not be recognized), on every other issue there is solidarity of almost all the Muslim states. A few may not feel as strongly as do the Muslim Arabs, but they mimic at the U.N. the hierarchy within supposedly "universalist" Islam, that is the hierarchy by which Arabs lord it over non-Arab Muslims, and expect to be, and are, obeyed.
For the past forty years there has been a steady rise in the power of what has been called here the Islamintern International, far better financed and focused than the Comintern ever was. Its personnel dominate the U.N., and affect not just the U.N. on the East River, but the different committees, such as that supposedly devoted to human rights that meets in Geneva. They have risen high in the Secretariat. They blackball some non-Muslims, and are careful to hire or promote others whose views they find accommodating -- such as the sinister though also comical Edward Mortimer, Chief Speech Writer" and Head of the Office of Communications and self-described "Senior Adviser" to Kofi Annan, a man who was dazzled by the Ayatollah Khomeini (see "A Tribute to Edward Mortimer" at this site). They outnumber and outmaneuver the Europeans, the Asians, the black Africans (look at how Arab Muslims have stoutly defended and protected the government of Sudan, fending off for so long, for twenty years, the genocidal campagin responsible for 1.8 millon black African deaths in the southern Sudan, and managing, after an additional 400,000 black Africans were killed in Darfur, to still prevent any effective U.N. action.
The workings of the U.N. are morally unacceptable. It is a corrupt, and corrupting organziation. It should be mocked, and belittled at every turn. And it should be seen for exactly what it is: something that started out with high hopes, and with intelligent representatives of the advanced world in charge. It became something different, over time, to end up, as it now has, as a semi-succursale of the Arab League.
It is absurd to put faith, or waste much time, on an organization that is mostly in the hands of the very people, or perhaps it is fairer to say has its hands always tied by the very people, who are the carriers of the menace of Jihad, a world-wide and world-without-end campaign to make the whole world a place, slowly but surely, where Islam dominates everywhere, and everywhere, ultimately, Muslims rule. It seems to be a fantastic goal, as fantastic as that of Hitler, or of what some of the more enthusiastic Soviet Communists thought might be possible. But it is not the likelihood of the goal that matters.
In the case of such threats, it is not so much the arrival, but the horrifying journey, that matters.

Come on people think of the priceless moment that will come of his visit.
Picture this...he's standing up there droning on endlessly how it's Irans right for the terrorist regime to aquire nuclear status. Tossing in some anti semite remarks here and ther, bashing the west.
Then of course throughout the whole mumbo jumbo thers the veiled calls for all to submit to the one and true religion.Theres the veiled threats to those who will vote against Iran.
Then there will perhaps even be that wonderous moment when the light of allah surrounds him again, and one of his aids will witness it of course.
Then as this light surrounds him his little bird brain will start thinking his words ,which are all vield insults and threats, are reaching the U.N. members and how they will not vote for the sanctions against his terrorist country.
Then the light fades he ends his speech and reality sets in,it's time for the vote.....the drum roll please......may we have the envelope....and the decision is........
Good God i wish i could be there. The only thing i wish for more is that the sanctions pass no matter how puny they may be or how ineffective.
The priceless moment, can't you imagine it?
Can't you hear the no longer vield threats now being screamed at all who oppose the superpower of Iran?
If i were Bush i would be there just to point and laugh at him personaly,to call his limo to haul his worthless hide back to his defunct and decaying hell hole.Ushered to his plane post haste even taking his little door prizes away has he is pushed to the door.
Oh the pricelessness.Truly a kodak moment or to be a fly on the wall.
Come monkey man state the case of the terrorist nation.Tell us infedels why we should ALLOW you the powerful, the superpowerful iranian regime to obtain the most destructive technology known to man.
If the U.N. or the west had a sack or a backbone at all they would arrest him the minute they saw him. Then let him plead the case of the terrorists regime through the courts ,the crimes against humanity courts.
Let us not forget the bill for the funding of the war on terror. We will be fair and only give Iran half the tab as we will save the other half for the other builders of the frankenstein that comes form the middle east. That wonderous kingdom, the kingdom of the religion of peace,of love and equality....Saudi Arabia.
Then after imanutajoba states his case that day deliver the verdict that day and hang him or behead him the next, give him the sharia that he desires so much...by infedel hands.
And all that jazz.

The middle east does have a type of U.N. and it's called the arab league. And it's run by islamic standards ,which is islamics only.
Or theres the whatchamacallit ,the alliance between the north american nazi states like chavezs and the muslim world, cuba.
In other words the islamic world have an organization they dominate,no freeworlders allowed.
So there is at least 2-3 organizations like the u.n including the u.n that need dismantled.
I have quotes around here somewhere (home) from some of the founding members about allowing shady charcters to join the U.N. I can't really remember much of them.
One was something like...."The U.N. is for nations that act in the manner deserving to join the U.N. not join the U.N. just because it's a nation that wants to join the U.N."
That quote is horificly mangled by me and doesn't do it justice at all but if you look at the U.N. today you will see exactly what the U.N. wasn't meant to be.
Which says a lot about how the rules in politics are also mangled. Not to mention the price thats paid for it to be mangled.
Eh but it's late and this monster has to rise early, the world aint gonna feed itself.
Good night monsters.
And all that jazz.

Yes, but when the lone reporter at Fox News began investigating and reporting the UN oil for Food scandal, did you notice how CNN, ABC, NBC, CBS, etc. stayed quiet?
Liberal institutions hate being exposed as corrupt and morally unacceptable. With respect to the UN, the lefty-lib media do not report it because they simply hate admitting that a liberal 'good cause' is not working so well.
The UN is totally corrupt, anti-God and the delegates are like the folks in Washington who use their power to line their pockets.
The UN, started with noble intentions, has become a means for countries to protect their financial interests - whilst PRETENDING to vote for moral issues. It has also become a BASH America, BASH Israel convention - and the libs love that.
Wamma see a liberal pop a vein? Explain (with historical evidence) why socialism doesn't work - then sit back and watch the fur fly. They're experts at denial and they immediately go on the offense. Same thing with the 'Useless Nations'.

Over here - in the non-American world, a world a few of you might have heard something about - we occasionally hear rumours of a strange and exotic phenomenon lurking in the trailer parks of the midwest. Strange sects, 'Christian' fundamentalists, survivalists, evangelists in business suits, who support the right-wing of the Republican party or anything further right than that. The type of people who would usually be rabid anti-semites, but who here support Israel fervently, because of some interpretation of some prophecy that the end is nigh and that all Jews will convert to Christianity. These people have other characteristic beliefs: they are against 'big government', they believe in the right to carry guns, they hate the United Nations. Once communists had to disappear from their colourful conspiracy theories, they came up with a new one: that the UN is a world government that is secretly ruling their country.
Jihad is a serious issue and a serious threat. Too serious for the opposition to it to consist only of members of this esoteric lunatic fringe.
Do you seriously think there shouldn't be an organisation that every country in the world is a member of? Do you think all international disputes should only be settled by force (according to the 'might is right' (non)principle)?
Most people think the problem with the UN is that it's in the pockets of the US. Hugh's claim that it's in the pockets of Arabs is nonsense. It is structured in such a way that the permanent members of the security council are all non-Muslim countries.
The US is using the UN to exert pressure on Iran. Are you suggesting it shouldn't, it should just drop bombs?
The reason the UN is located in the US is because when it was founded the US insisted it be located in New York. The US would only agree to being a member under that condition.
