Iranian Chief of Staff Gen. Hassan Fayrouz Abadi warned leaders of Arab countries that Israel is planning to launch a war this summer, the Fars news agency reported on Saturday.
"Zionists and the Quds (referring to Jerusalem) occupying regime intend to exercise a suicidal plan next summer, and this suicidal plan of the Zionists and American neoconservatives, the implementation of which would start from the occupied Palestinian lands, will not serve the interests of anyone in the world," the general was quoted by Fars as saying.
"Firstly, I warn the dear leaders and Muslim brothers in the neighboring countries of the occupied territories that this suicidal attack of the Zionists is threatening them," he said.
According to the report, the Iranian military official further stated that the plan intends to “prevent the withdrawal of the US troops from Iraq and the region and that it will pose a danger primarily to Lebanon, Syria, Egypt and Jordan and then Saudi Arabia and all other countries in the region.”
Abadi said it was the “Israeli Zionists” who encouraged the Bush administration to send troops to the region, adding, "and now that the US Senate, Congress and people have grown vigilant and realized that the US’s national interests are victimized for the Zionist devils and urge withdrawal of US troops from the region, Zionists and neoconservatives have devised a suicidal operation to justify extension of the mission of the US troops in the region."
'Iran has no option but to protect its security'
The Iranian chief of staff urged Lebanon to reach an agreement over a national coalition government in order to help “resist this plot.”
“I warn the Arab brothers in the region that they should increase their solidarity and unity in defending the Palestinian nation against Israel and that they should adopt their decision, otherwise tomorrow would be too late (to take the said actions)," he was quoted as saying.
In a confidential letter obtained last Friday Iran told the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) that "warmongering" by Israel and the US led to the decision to withhold information from the outside worlds on its nuclear program.
If you can't find a pretense you like, make one up.

I guess the Iranians read English as this has been circulating since someone here published a war is coming to the region almost a year ago.
Iran is worried of course like all communists as they prefer to let other Muslims die for their sins of trying to eradicate the Judeans.

Where's their faith in allah??? Guess they didn't catch on that their god is nothing more than an idol when Israel kicked their butts in the 6 day war.
I think that a war is coming and soon. We have had a major naval build up in the Persian Gulf for some months now. Iran has war games - we have war games. Israel has ran national nuclear drills.
If this war happens, I expect to see the complete destruction of Damascus, Egypt and Iran.
We are witnessing end time events that were prophesied thousands of years ago. Get your houses in order.

Nice subtle threat shiva... What the f*** are you talking about? I never gave a lecture in Australia on any such topic. I did however take place in a discussion in New Zealand in May 2003 on how Muslims should address the media. In that discussion I advised Muslims, that they must avoid taking the path of Muslim apologists and be open, honest and forthcoming, as opposed to shifting blame to non-Muslims.
You are correct, I did stop using my Muslim name, but in 2002. I still ocassionally use it however.
As far as me engaging in taqiyya, produce your proof. I have always spoke in one voice, almost to my own peril. I have always acknolwedged Islam has real problems that must be addressed. And as far as your other baseless accusation, I wont even respond.

Iranians like all islamists want others to do their bidding. they are trying to wreak havoc, get the arabs going nuts, which is not too difficult. Iranians make the bombs, and the arabs will detonate them, that way iranians dont get too bloodied. l dont think the Hez and Hammass bozs will get it.

This is Tehran's way of saying they're going to sponsor (in every way) a repeat of last summer's hezbo attack on Israel and their hope that others will answer the call.
Someone intelligently posted that this, like WWII and unlike Vietnam and Iraq, needs to be a 'theater' war. Borders drawn the better part of a century ago are not respected--unless a Western rigid inflatable approaches one.
I hope and pray not for war--war is upon us, I hope and pray for victory.

One of the classic marks of an evil person - or group - is what psychologists and sociologists call 'projection'.
Another mark is pathological and persistent lying, big lies and small. When Iran says those soldiers were in Iranian waters, Iran is lying. Lying, lying, lying. If Ahmadinejad were Pinocchio his nose would be out past the Moon by now.
The worst, most disgusting, elaborate and breathtakingly complicated lies I have ever heard in my life were concocted by a Muslim woman (she wasn't particularly observant, but the arrogance, the sense of total entitlement, the self pity and the ruthless opportunism and will to deceive were all there in spades). A lawyer friend once had the misfortune to have to represent a Muslim client. He found out - in court - that the man had lied ; he told me that from that point on he made it his bottom-line assumption, in every conversation with this 'client from hell', that the man was lying through his teeth.
'Mohammed told such dreadful lies/ It made one gasp and stretch one's eyes..." (to paraphrase a well-known children's poem). And so many of his followers, great and small, imitate him devotedly in loving and making Lies.

This is a prelude to the destruction of Israel. The mullahs must either have nuclear weapons purchased from russia or pakistan, or be close to completing work on their own.
As khomeini said, even if iran is annihilated in the counterattack, and even if 20 million muslims are killed, it will be worth it because the destruction of Israel will further islam. And that is precisely why I am convinced that the Israeli counterattack MUST include the destruction of the grand mosque and the kabaa. It must be vaporized and the land rendered uninhabitable for at least a century. That will deal a possible fatal setback to the disease of islam.
